Last week of fish mix I’m thinking then just some bi grow for a while and then onto bloom :) she’s doing well all in all except showing some wrinkled leaves, I’m presuming it’s due to a low humidity. I added a little bucket with ice to try and up the humidity a bit, hopefully it works :D I also did a bit of tucking of the fan leaves to get those branches and bud sites stretching out hopefully! Expecting a big growth spurt in the next two Weeks :D (Added during week 5) I ended up turning to defoliation as an experiment to see the results and I’m quite happy :) I cut eight sun leaves covering the branches to allow those bud sites to start stretching up and developing a bit faster (due to better light penetration). I also did some LST to move the branches out underneath one another. All in all it really seemed to do well thereafter and those branches aren’t developing real nicely :) I stopped with the fish mix and am currently just using bio-grow. I did however up the bio-grow to 0.5ml from 0.25 :)

Grow Questions

I changed my lighting setup for this one and took out the CFL’s from before, I only have a 300W LED grid hanging now. Will this make a difference? And how big ? I also moved the LED a lot closer for this grow. Would the height it’s hanging from now be okey ?

Hi @EuphoricDiaries! Considering you're now on LED, 40cm is a good distance for such a young plant. I think you can even push as close as 25-30cm, if you have a good airflow and if the lamp is not emitting too much heat. Do the universal hand-test to ensure your apical summit won't burn. Switching from CFL to LED should help you to control your temps and avoid heat stress, while giving a better spectrum to your baby. Combining spectrum is also an effective method, you can try later when your plant will enter flowering stage, by mixing CFL+LED you will dramatically increase your yield (as long as your environment remains OK, temps, humidity ...). Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

Q1: I did a slight bit of “lillipopping”, cutting lower sun leaves and small energy wasting budsites. Along with this and slight bits of LST at this stage will it effect bud density for the better or worse? Q2: would a larger space now be worth the effort (1.5x1.5x2m tent)? Thanks

Keep in mind that the light needed for a 1.5*1.5 (2.25 m2 or 24sq ft) area would be 3 times what you have now (35 to 40 LED watts per sq ft) so around 900 watts, so unless you plan to upgrade your light, there's no point in a bigger tent. Lollipoping will make the plant focus its energy into the top colas and LST will help in keeping an even canopy to make the most of your light

To just add to Stick's comment, if you can add some 2700k warm whites during the first few weeks of flowering , it's easier on the eyes, and makes for better photos...plus the extra orange and red spectra boost flowering....but also consider going back to 6500k cool whites for the last week (while simultaneously hitting them with a 10.0 or 15.0 reptile UVB at 8" or so). The latest thinking by the big commercial growers is that increasing blue spectra during the final week or two promotes trichrome and terpene production..similar to how in nature that the plants react to the change from "fall to winter" because the sun's color temperature becomes cooler, which instructs the plant to hurry it's ass up before it freezes....and the plants react to intense UVB by protecting themselves with a wonderful layer of resinous oils containing higher levels of THC.

@Silverback_Guerilla, thanks so much man!! I’m definitely going to use every piece of info in there 😁 truly appreciate the help! Will keep it update on what’s happening and the changes being made Also going to then mix my bio bloom, gro and fish-mix together and feed it 0.75ml/l (0.25ea) from next week for a week then cut out the fish mix thereafter :D Thanks again man !

Easiest way to increase your humidity is to pour some water into a big bowl or pan (or water tray) and just let it evaporate into the garden...or even better, freeze a block of ice every day and let it melt/evaporate each day. The ice blocks have the extra advantage of keeping the bottom 1' of the tent about 2 degrees cooler, which roots appreciate. That usually increases RH by about 5%-7% in a 4 x 4 tent, and if you can use a timer to shut off your ventilation for an hour every so often it will climb a bit more. Some guys buy a little cool-mist vaporizer/humidifier and keep in the tent while they are vegging, but I rarely have the floor space for contraptions...just plants 😁

@Stick, Awesome, will definitely try get the humidity up in there by trying some water spray! Thank you

@EuphoricDiaries, 26°C is fine, 35% RH is good for flowering stage but way too low for the veg stage. To promote quick growth, you want a 60-70% humidity level. 👋

@Stick,damn. Hit the nail on the head there! :) thanks for the clarity man! Definitely going to lower the LED and keep an eye on the temperatures there. Would you say that 26 degrees celsius is a good temperature or a bit high ? And also a 35% humidity level ?

Looking forward to the stretch homie! All looks good and don’t stress the minor leaf wrinkle. RH can usually take care of itself with watering and as the plants get bigger. That said, the ice buckets a good idea if your gonna be picky😉. Lookn primo bro!👌
