I was very impressed with West Coast OG Kush from Fastbuds for my first strain to grow. The #1 plant is covered and looks like it was dipped in sugar. The #2 plant was bigger but not as covered. Both plants produced dense buds and were exactly what I was looking for. It has a skunk smell to it and is very pungent. It was exactly what I was hoping for and gives a very good head high wih a soothing effect. I am very impressed with Fastbuds genetics and will be trying more of their strains in the future.

This plant was healthy from the beginning and progressed well the whole time. I had it planted in 5 gallon smart pots and I think I may have prevented them from reaching full height due to hesitation of watering to much and not starting nutes earlier in low amounts. I gave the plants enough water to stay nice and green but with my pot size I feel now like I didn't water enough to let the roots expand and basically created a smaller pot within my 5 gallon. After trimming all the leaves while still potted I then cut the plant at the base and proceeded to trim all the sugar leaves. After trimming I hung it upside down to dry and I will remove individual stems in a couple days. I have low humidity so I will be monitoring closely and trying to achieve a 5-10 day dry before jarring. For my next grow I plan to use 3 gallon smart pots with more plants and watering enough to use the entire pot. After examining the roots from OG#1 I feel my suspicions are correct and feel my root structure could have and should have been larger. I am hoping for 25 grams from this plant but being my first grow I'm just happy getting all 3 to harvest. Overall I think I'll get 65-85 grams from all 3. Edit: 73g total from the 2 West Coast OG Kush plants far exceeded my expectations and made me very happy with my LED purchase (Philzon 1200 from Amazon). I am still considering a HID or CMH but this light is very capable and sufficient to grow some quality bud.

Grow Questions

I was wondering if there is anything I can use with autos to create a bigger more dense bud? I see a lot of products out there and not sure which one is good for autos and at what strength. I am using Fox Farms products and have about 3-4 weeks before I begin my final flush.

Theres sooo many different products out there that are made for what you want , they have a very very wide variety of nutrients that help in this manner . I prefer advanced nutrients you tend to have a little more control over your grow with that line up , but you could use products like b52 , bud candy , bud ignitor, big bud and over drive . When these products or similar products are used in combination they do wounders to your buds and yield . Of course we cant forget about our basics either to have the right light right temps and a good medium these 3 things are far more important then nutrients . You're also just beggining the stretch phase of your plant flower cycle she will get tall in order to make space to form flowers ! If your still not satisfied with this after you harvest then you could always search for additives in order to help make it easier for you

@Wachsemilian, Thank you, I wanted to start with good genetics for my first grow, especially since I was going with Autos. Fastbuds delivered as my 2 plants were just as described. Mephisto’s 4AM also produced an awesome plant. Thanks for looking!

Your Girl is looking good, Budbuilding is a combination of TIME, LIGHT, POTSIZE... and in the end Nutrients. For beeeing "ripe" the Buds will need 6-8 Week of Flower. You got 300 W Led if its the right Number that should be enough. And you are using Big pots welldone. You are using blooming fertiliser thats good, go on ... Can you lower the Temperature a bit=?that would make her feel more comfortable. Happy growing You can add some Molasses to your water for the microbacterias in you soil

Hi @Electro19! I've had great results using Greenleafnutrients products, MegaCrop for the veg stage and BudExplosion for the flowering stage. On the other hand I've seen a few people having issues with FoxFarms, it seems that nutrient burn happens really quickly with their product range, but I never tried by myself. BioBizz is also an excellent choice when it comes to organic fertilizers, BioGrow + BioBloom will give you great yields. Now, since you're already in the middle of the flowering stage, I wouldn't recommend to switch your fertilizer now, keep on feeding with FoxFarms unless you're seeing a toxicity or a deficiency, autos are easy to hurt/stress, so you rather end your run with FoxFarms and try another fertilizer brand for your next run. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

Its weird they all staying the same size. They should have started stretching. Are you sure those seeds are authentic? My first grow was kind of meh but I had amazing auto genetics that made um for my lack of experience. First grows are always a learning experience.

I want say thank you to everyone that responded, it’s communities like this that really help noobs like me. Sorry I can’t select more than one helpful answer. I have been looking at Open Sesame, Beatie Blooms, and Cha Ching in the Fox Farm Line but not sure which to use. Cha Ching seems to be for late flowering but that is what I’m considering. Being autos and my first harvest I’m hesitant to try much since they seem healthy. I would like to bulk up the buds obviously though.

The seeds were authentic in sealed Fastbuds and Mephisto packaging. I can only enter one height in the stats section. The California Gold Rush is about 14-15" now and was 11" two days ago. The West Coast OG is about 13-14" now and was 10" two days ago. the 4AM is about 9-10" and was 8" two days ago. I am happy with the Cali and OG but the 4AM seems behind. I'm still not sure what to expect for a finishing height. I have definitely learned a lot so far and I'm really enjoying the process. I have been cautious to not over water and I have used very little nutrients since they are autos and I'm new to this. This may have caused the plant to not produce as much as it could had I been more willing to add nutes earlier and in greater quantities? The plants have looked healthy and are really starting to flower now.
