Multi-Gluteal Primate

Looks to be doing well starting her second week .... she's currently the furthest from the heat source, so it's a little chilly in that corner. I'm waiting on a harvest (perhaps 2) that should be any day now ..., so this girl will move around and have more room in the near future (and another heater will be added to the opposite side to keep things evened out a bit more across the whole tent).

She just hit day 14 of growth ... I'm thinking of topping her in a few days ... once the latest sprout node grows tall enough for me to clip it. I've never tried it ... she looks healthy, so I'm hoping it's the right time to try. I've ready positive things about the Mephisto genetics, so she should be able to handle it. Also finally got the tent conditions evened out nicely - back to mid-70s and 50-55% RH (it is 65F and 60% RH outside the tent).

Around day 16 or so .... decided to try topping this girl. She's growing quick and seems very healthy. We'll see how it goes

everything is looking pretty good (knock on wood) ... I'm looking a lot more closely at the leaves this grow - since I missed the early signs of calcium+nitrogen deficiencies in my last two girls. This lady is nice solid green ... not too dark ... no spots, lines, patches. I'll be starting a low dose of nutrients this week since she's starting to get exponentially bigger - trying to get ahead of the game this time and make sure there's enough of everything when she needs it .. but, I'm also trying to limit nute burn as much as possible. I'm learning! In either case, I think the decision to top her was the right one ... well, not necessarily the right choice - but at least it didn't turn out bad (thus far, again, knock on wood)!

I'm watching this girl like a hawk ... still not a single sign (knock on wood) of any issues - leaves are very healthy. She just hit 5 wks, and showing signs of preflower.

more than doubled in size in just over a week .. she has the biggest footprint in my tent at the moment. Getting a bit antsy ... she's full into flower mode at the moment, and this is when deficiencies start to pop up ... there are no spots/marks/discoloration on any leaf that I've found so far. The leaves are getting a bit darker, so I think I'll reduce the N I'm feeding. So beautiful!

I think I'm in love .... this girl is a beauty. I had a Green Crack auto (FB) several years ago that ended up yielding 12oz .... this girl from Mephisto looks very similar in size. I tend to trim off the bottom buds now (didn't several years ago) ... so, I'm not expecting those huge numbers, but if I can keep her healthy throughout flower, then I think I'm in for a treat no matter what the yield :) I'm starting to see crystals form as well ... and the smell is starting. Hard to really put my finger on what it smells like, yet. She obviously has a bit too much nitrogen, so I've cut back on that quite a bit ... not worried about toxicity, though. It's a very healthy green color - with just a bit of clawing on some tips. Otherwise, there's not a spot on any leaf (and there are a crap ton of leaves!) I've never seen (or had) a plant this far into its life without at least seeing a few brown spots here and there. However, I think she's just entered the full flower phase (no more vertical stretching). So, time to keep an even closer eye on things!

At about week 8, and I'm seeing some of the leaves turning yellow ... I had stopped giving her "extra" Nitrogen - was starting to show signs of toxicity ... now she's showing signs of deficiency ... crazy how fast that can turn around on ya, huh?! She's the thirstiest plant I've had - 2 days between feedings at most (1/2 - 3/4 gal) ... any longer and everything will be droopy. She's big and beautiful ...

So ... I've been so happy with this girl - she went 9 weeks without showing any signs of any distress whatsoever. Then, almost overnight, the yellow leaves showed up ... indicating both a nitrogen and a phosphorous deficiency ... and I've been feeding her quite a bit of both - I guess it just wasn't enough. She got huge - and thirsty - and apparently she's got an appetite, too. I've increased the nutrient levels a bit, hopefully I can keep her from cannibalizing herself too much more than she already has. The buds are just starting, but they already have some decent weight to them (just based on a gentle "branch shake"). The smell is just starting to evolve - although, I can't really put my finger on what that smell might be. I like it, though :) Hoping the frost will start to pile on here soon. Exciting! Just updating .... I can definitely smell gas ... very heavy on the gas side - not quite diesel, but definitely gas ... probably just pure gasoline at this point. Oddly intoxicating. The buds are still in the early phase with still nearly all white pistils. I have to squeeze to get the stronger smell (good reason to not prune all the larfy bottom buds ... those are the ones you can squeeze without worrying about destroying your primo buds!!) Cheers

she's getting bigger every day ... buds are growing in dense and thick. Still has a strong gas smell ... darker green colored sugar leaves ... lovely!

was busy getting a timed drip irrigation system set up because I was heading out for a 9 day vacation.

I was gone this whole week ... no photos of the progress .

came home from vacation (9 days) ... 2 of those days the lights didn't come on for some reason (stupid glitch in the Mars Hydro light dimmer switch, I think) ... so, I'm not sure how that affected things - good or bad. Regardless, she is beautiful ... chunky buds - pretty dense (or so it feels - don't want to squeeze too hard) near the top. Still smells like diesel fuel, but has a slight fruit undertone, I think.

Well ... decided it was time to chop ... spent the last two days plucking off as many of the fan leaves as I could. I've been drying the plant whole - fan leaves and all - but I wanted to try it different this time, because this girl is a friggin beast! It's easier to get the entire leaf and stem out while it's still fresh/wet. I'm just trying to do this girl justice ... I mean, c'mon ... just look at those pictures!! I know it's "unsightly" to have a lop-sided plant ... but it's awesome that the buds were too heavy for the branches :) Now I wait ... hoping to get a nice slow dry. Will be back in a couple weeks with some numbers and preliminary smoke report!

Just have to say - not crazy about how the "process" works on this site. I don't do a wet weigh ... what the hell is the point of that?! So, my "wet weight" is actually my dry weight ... I guess it won't let me clarify that until I come back for the smoke report. Regardless ... almost HALF A POUND! That's quite a nice haul - and most of it is what I consider "top buds" (135g vs 72g of bottom/larf). Still had a pretty strong "gas" smell while trimming ... excited to try it after I cure for two weeks (in Grove Bags). So, I guess I'll be back then!
