Sat Nov 4 - I germinated the seeds. I put the seeds into water with ChitoSal and Microbial Mass Pro.
Day 1 - 1 litre of water + 2.50ml of Chitosal + 0.25ml of Microbial Mass Pro
- Set up the propagator, on a heat mat set to 26°C, in the grow tent with the lights off, heat set to 24°C and
humidity at 65%
- Poured the water in to a bowl with seeds, let sit for 35 min as per Instructions on Chitosal
- Put seeds into papertowel and into an open ziploc bag, then poured the water containing Chitosal &
Microbial Mass Pro onto the papertowel, then poured the rest of the water into a spray bottle to keep the
papertowel moist
Sun Nov 5 - I took a look at the seeds. It's been about 24 hours. All of the seeds appear to have a tap root showing or at the
Day 2 very least, the shell is splitting open for the tap root to appear.
- There was one seed that seemed like it was opened yet, so I'll keep my eye on that one.
- Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to plant them into plugs
- I'm keeping the papertowel moist with the spray bottle containing ChitoSal & Microbial Mass Pro.
Mon Nov 6 - 7 of the 9 seeds had tap roots significantly out, one of them a little more so than I'd want.
Day 3 - 1 seed, the tap root had just emerged and the other seed, the tap root was probably just about to emerge.
- I took the plugs and used a 1/4 inch drill bit to drill out the holes a bit better. I find the pre-drilled holes in
the plugs are not big enough.
- I planted all 9 of the seeds into their plugs. The seed with the tap root out further than I'd like, may have
broke when I was planting it even though I was super careful and used tweezers to handle the seed.
- I think going forward, I need to germinate the seeds on a Thursday or Friday to ensure I catch the tap roots
at a reasonable length and not so far out.
- I dumped out the spray bottle and filled it with water only containing Microbial Mass Pro. As per the
ChitoSal instructions, it shouldn't be used until 1 week prior to flowering.
Tue Nov 7 - 7 of the 9 seedlings have emerged from their plugs, I expect 1 more to emerge but that one where the tap root
Day 4 may have broken off when I was putting it into the plug may not emerge for obvious reasons.
- I sprayed the plugs to re-moisten them.
- There were two seedlings that had emerged but their shells were still on the cotyledon, so I carefully
removed their shells with tweezers
Wed Nov 8 - 8 of the 9 seedlings have now emerged from their plugs. I have no doubt that the one seedling that broke
Day 5 while planting it will not produce anything but I'll still keep trying while the other seedlings keep growing.
- I sprayed the seedlings and plugs to re-moisten them.
Thu Nov 9 - The seedlings have all emerged and standing beautifully. Also, every seedling has a root coming out of the plug
Day 6 - I took a closer look at the one seed that I suspected would not emerge and I was right, I dug into the plug and
the seed is definitely dead.
- I will probably need to plant the seedlings into the grow bags tomorrow.
Fri Nov 10 - I planted the seedlings into their grow bags.
Day 7 - I sprinkled mycorrhizal fungi into a small pre-dug hole that I put the seedlings into.
- I then watered the plants with Microbial Mass Pro, RapidStart and Diamond Nectar. I checked the ph of the
water after adding the nutrients and it was at 6.5. I just use half a litre for the first feeding.
- Lights are 24 inches above plants, lowered humidity to 60% and LED lights set to level 3.
