Hi all! Here we go again with the green gelato!
This time I followed the specs from BioTabs regarding startrex, mycotrex, bactrex and orgatrex but not regarding silicum flash and the tabs!
I just added 25g (0.8oz) of silicum to the pot and I'll wait till week 3 to add the tabs.
All the rest didn't change and I'll put the hardware list down here.
60x120 (2x4) blackbox
PrimaKlima 220/360 m3/h extractor (always on switch 1) pushes air in
Green filter CH10 (entrance, passive exit) So yes I filter air coming in but not going out. I don't have any need for odor control :-D
1 secret jardin 20w fan
2x 180W COB led lights
2x 15L airpots
Winflex temp and humidity tester
And the top of soil, Bio Canna Bio Terra Plus
Hi all!
Nothing really new this week! The lady is fine!
Didn't put the tabs in yet but may do so next week as I spot what could be the beginning of a brightening of the leaves. Those indicas could get quite hungry soon.
So not much more to say for this week.
Cya soon!
Hi all! It's been eleven days since my last update and all the girls have greatly increased in size!
GG received one tab end of this week and she regained a bit of darkness witch is nice.
My main concern is the low temps coming in this days. I already have temps below 20°C / 68°F during the day so I think I will have to take care of the soil microbial life by wrapping a hot cable around the pots. I may be doing it first week of December.
Also i have to start lst very soon! I already waited too much and the branches are quite stiff!
I noticed a funny mutation on one of the fan leaves. I already had buds in the middle of it but this time it is kind of a leaf inception... the tips of a new leaf are coming out of the center of a fan leaf! I'll do some macros of this next week.
So for now everything looks fine! No signs of over or under feeding! Hope this will last!
Cya soon!
Hi all!
Got some more weird stuff for you this week! My green gelato has a few mutations going on not only one!
First note that the leaves where brightening a bit to much for my taste so I put in a tab splitted in 4 to make it more even. The plant regained quickly some darkness, way before the two weeks expected for the tab to chelate. Except this nothing has changed in the feeding, Ro water and some cal/mag.
So last week I showed you the leaf inception on one of the bigger fan leaves. It turns out that every "floor" has it's own mutation on the fan leaves so you will see at the lower internode that a complete leaf is growing at the center of the big one. A very tiny leaf I even didn't notice before. Then you have that internode with the two leaves growing in the middle. Then continuing higher you have another piece of leaf still growing at the center of another bigger one! Had to do some macro shots of all this mutations! Sadly the top leaves will be cut of when I top the plant but the other will stay for a few more weeks.
Apart from this and as you will notice I started the training on her, let the fun begin!!
Cya!
Hi all! Quick update here!
The ladies seem to enjoy the tabs! One week after defoliation she is already filled the gaps.
I may start to see a little interveinal chlorosis on some newer leaves, I'll have to monitor this!
The cause of this chlorosis on young leaves, as I'm sure it's not P or K excess, may be a lack of immobile micro nutrients like iron, boron, sulfur and zinc to name only a few. I keep a bottle of Acti-vera from biobizz for those issues and we will see if I need o use it.
Also the temperatures are dropping now and I will probably have to take out the heating wires soon to help bacterias do their thing.
She will be switched into flower by the end of week 8 with two more lights added.
Cya next week!
Hi all!
So here I am back at updating this diary! Sorry for the gap there will be after week 8 but I had to deal with ugly things in my life so I did what I could!
This grow will end up being one of the worst for me! Issues showing up on the plants, no tools to make a proper diag, no time to deal with it and really not in the good mood for growing overall.
So this is the 8th week and last of veg. Definitely missing some micros but at this point I had no way to know if it way due to high PH or lack of nutes.
Cya in 10 week! 😓
Hi all!
I actually forgot I took those pictures week 15! I remember how amazed I was by the size of the trichomes on this lady! She was starting to recover nicely. Keep in mind she has been stunned for a while so she is a bit late on the schedule but she was doing her thing quietly.
Seriously I think those are the biggest trichomes I grew so far... quite impressive!
I was so focused on the trichomes I didn't actually take one pic of the whole plant lol. But more pics coming on week 17, stay tuned.
Cya!
Hi all!!
Finally a decent update!
She is taking her time to finish but she is becoming a beautiful plant! She stayed quite smaller than expected and the buds are also quite small but hey I can't be disappointed as she went through some serious stresses during her life. She should take one or two weeks extra lifetime. RQS says 9 weeks of flower, she will need 11 or 12.
Anyway the buds are super frosty and dense! The smell is great! Can't wait to vape her!
Well well well... out of the four plants I somehow grown this winter she is the one that gave the more decent result in term of yield. She went through many negligences like a charm and even if the buds were quite smaller than expected due to under feeding they are dense, covered with trics and very flavorful!
Very nice response to training too btw.
She now had quite enough time to cure decently and wow!! The thc and terps levels are just insane!!! Very very sticky weed!! I'm very glad I don't have to use a grinder with her coz I see my buddys having a lot of troubles grinding her!! According to some of them she is one of the strongest they tried from me so far. And I can confirm she hits very hard when rising the vape temp over 180°C/356°F. A very nice home/evening/lazy vaping strain. Sends you high in the sky!!
So I really plan to grow her once more if I ever find the time to! She is beautiful, tasty and potent!! What do you want more?
As you may know this grow session was probably the worst for me due to personal issues but this lady managed to put out some nice buds and flavors so can't be more happy!
See you all for the next episode with more amazing RQS strains!!!
Hands down, simply the most beautifully taken, perfectly lit, professional grade, stunning, possibly the finest photographs of any cannabis plant in the universe. Seriously, I dismissed someone's suggestion of getting the tripod out and properly lighting my plants as way too much effort for little gain. You've clearly shown it to be worth it. Your pictures took my breath away, as I clicked through them, you took me on a journey into this stunning plant. Your photographs are in my opinion, actual works of art. I had to say, wow, it took a utterly spectacular plant to do it of course, but your magnificent photographs have let me see how much better I can do. Thank you for that, I appreciate it. As one post said, literal eye orgasms. Thank you for setting the bar so high, I look forward to trying to emulate this level of photo quality. Not sure I will ever get there but wow, you have a spectacular sense of composition, and the progression. Best.Photographs.Ever. Whew, whole nother level beyond that which I thought to be possible. Oh the trimming on those buds, seriously, you removed every single trace of leaf, did you use a razor blade and about a week of focused attention? Its so good it took me three views to realise what I was looking at. Never seen anyone manicure buds to that level of perfection. Another cross over where it becomes an artform. Any way, hope this doesn't seem over the top, its not often I see someone do something so spectacularly it takes the mundane into the sublime. Your photographs are sublime. Thank you.
@TheFoxFarmer, Hi mate!! Happy you are joining the ride! After defo the mutation is still there! Will see what happens, I hope she will grow some buds there too! 😇
So sorry to hear you were not feeling great lately! I know I have some of those blues too, I guess we all have..the side effects of life...
Maybe just top dress with some Epsom salt, straight on top of soil.
I suspect it is one of the best additive for stressed plants and human! Also cheap! Perhaps it works by pulling out of plants toxic salt and stress hormones? easy for plants to utilise? Lol
All the best😉
@Eauderay, Thanks for your support and interest mate! Yes epsom salt would maybe have helped. I usally don't let things go this far but I'll probably get some to have it on my shelves. 🙌
Yoo buddy ! thx for Following me !! i consider this as an honor 🙏...and most of all I would like to swim in these
trics 👍👊 even if they seem a bit Dangerous 😜
if you get any advice on this strain, feel free to share on my diary 👍💪
Namasté 🙏
@Budofpray, Hi BoP! you are very welcome, I like how you are documenting your grows, great effort!! Keep up the good infos!! I'll see if I can help but seems to me you are very well started! 👌
@Eauderay, Hi Eauderay! Sorry I had to stay away from GD for a few month but I'm back at it now and I'll be updating my diaries very soon! There will be a huge gap in the weeks but you will see the end of flowering anyway. Your Green Gelato look very nice btw! Good job!
Hi bro you seem to get a few issues , what’s the runoff EC and ph ? I should add these look lovely 👍 also these bud so dense , be real careful to get enough space 👌
@BigDaddyK, Hi mate! Yeah it looks like I might have some! The EC is correct @700 but I think the PH could be very high and have locked some elements. The problem is that I broke my PH meter a few weeks ago and I wont get a new probe before next year sadly! So I'm kind of blind regarding this parameter right now. I also need to figure out if I need to reload the bacteria population like Biotabs advises to do after week 5. It's always tricky when you are using new nutes for the first time... And it looks like the two more sativa strains are even more affected! Anyway I can't wait more to flip them so I'll be doing it this w-e. Btw thank for your care mate!
great pictures mate! :) good luck :thumbsup_tone3: i love biotabs, that stuff is great. but maybe i wouldn’t count day one that early..more like on your “day 6” i would start day 1-2..and definitely install a small fan so the girls don’t stretch that much :thumbsup_tone3:
@@flowerboy, thanks! Yes for the first time I started the calendar a bit too soon but with Biotabs I'm not really worried about that. And I need that little stretch to be sure I will be able to install my lst gear so I usually wait two week before plugging in the fan!
