April 20, 2024 Happy 420 Everyone!
A new diary for a new contest by Seedsman! Sit back, because there's a lot to talk about today.
Just like all of my grows, this run will have daily updates with pictures, a weekly video and as much detail as I can muster in the stats. Let's get started.
First off, let's talk about the setup. I have 4 plants in my main tent that won't be done for a couple more weeks. So these ladies will be starting out in an AC Infinity Germination Center with their Germination grow lights, a heat mat and a small computer fan to keep the air fresh. The DLI will be around 12 mol/m²/d. They will be planted in root Riot Plugs until they show roots. Then in their final 3 gallon fabric containers. Then into the Mars Hydro 2x2 tent with the TS600 light. 100 watts of pure power. Haha. This should only be for a couple weeks. Just enough time for them to be well established.
Then they will go into my AC Infinity 3x3 tent with the S33 grow light. 240 watts of power.
I have 2 oscillating clip fans running a slight breeze at all times.
I'm using a 4" exhaust fan with filter.
I'll be using the AC Infinity bottom feed wick system. I've been using it for quite a while and I find it to extremely efficient. More about this later on in the grow.
Let's talk about the strain. Sour Diesel Auto by Seedsman.
This strain should be with us for the next 8 to 10 weeks. In my experience, add another week or two just Incase.
We can expect a really good yield if I don't screw anything up. Up to 650/m².
She has some environmental requirements. Heat is the main thing. Slightly humid for the veg stage and dry for the flowering stage.
Being a sativa dominant strain, she will grow tall. I'll be implementing LST and light defoliation for this plant without a doubt.
That's about it for now. I'll describe characteristics throughout the run.
Finally to our actual ladies.
I'm germinating 5 in a glass of water. I plan on keeping 4 total. That's all my tent can fit. So I'll do away with the 5th and work with the 4 best seedlings.
They should sink overnight and start to open up. As soon as I see the tap roots, they go in the Root Riot Plugs.
That's all for today. See you tomorrow. Oh, and thanks for reading. Wish me luck on this journey. It is a grow off after all. Lol
April 21, 2024
4 of the 5 seeds have sunk to the bottom of the cup with my assistance. The 5th one I still floating. However, I don't see any tap roots, so another day or 2. I may pop the sunken seeds in the Root Riot Plugs tomorrow afternoon.
The 5th seed may be the reject. If it doesn't pop in a couple days, I'm calling it a loss and working with the 4 other seeds as I originally planned. I could also go down to 3 plants, but I frankly would like the even number of 4. 1 per quadrant. We shall see. I wonder if I should do three 5 gallon plants or four 3 gallon plants. We shall see. The biggest obstacle will be the tight space I have to work with for the next 2 to 3 weeks while the plants already in there are done. I plan on dry trimming for a faster dry. Normally, I like to hang the whole plant. This time around will be wet trimmed and hung in parts. OR placed in my bud drying rack. That's large enough to hold all 4 plants' buds.
I should also mention that these seeds are in constant darkness until they go into the plugs. Kind of obvious, but these diaries are not only for my records but set up as an educational piece of work.
The environment is looking fine. The air temp is 82°, but the water is definitely no where near that warm. I did have to drop the exhaust fan down and increase the heat mat temp to get the water temp up to a proper temp.
Germination Center Environment:
I'll be keeping the temp around 82° and the humidity doesn't matter for now. When it matters, I fill the bottom of the Germination Center with water. It helps perfectly with the humidity for growing seedlings. It will also help regulate the temp to around 78° to 79°.
April 22, 2024
All 5 ladies have sunk to the bottom of the cup. Now it's just a matter of time for the taproots come out.
Somehow, the Germination Center was cold this morning. Like 68° cold. So I took the riser off the dome and cranked the heat mat to bring the heat and humidity up. That being said, the seed water is much cooler than I want. I like warm water for germination. Oh well. The heat mat should fix things in a matter of hours.
Everything else looks good.
Germination Center Environment:
Currently it's at 77° and 94% humidity. It should level out to about 80° and the humidity should stay about the same. I also took the fan off the dome. I'll put it back on when they pop out of their plugs.
April 23, 2024
All 5 seeds popped. They all have tiny taproots just starting to form. This is when I plant them in the plugs. They should take a couple days to break surface, but definitely germinated. Now it's just a matter of choosing the 4 best looking seedlings.
They are now in the Root Riot Plugs with the temp at 77° and humidity at 95%. The dome is on without the extension for now. Once they show leaves, I'll install the extension and turn the light on.
I'll be leaving the light on for 24 hrs. While in the Germination Center. Once out and established, I'll change it to the normal 18/6 light schedule. I was considering starting at 18/6 from the beginning, but I've tried that and feel like it wasn't as successful as 24 hours. Especially because these are autos. The kickstart of light makes total sense. We will see if my theory is correct.
Germination Center Environment:
Temp: 77.4°
RH: 95.4%
VPD: 0.15 kPa
April 24, 2024
Nobody hopped surface yet today. I don't even see green in the plugs yet. I'm definitely not worried about it. I expect them to break surface in a couple of days. Maybe tomorrow or the day after. Honestly, I won't mind if they take a little bit longer and I can keep them in the Germination Center for a bit longer. It will work out best for my whole grow operation. Small as it is.
I gave each seed plug a bit of filtered water today. Just to keep the moisture up. It shouldn't matter too much. The plugs are pre-moistened, so there shouldn't be any issues there.
I'll be turning the lights on when I start to see green. They will be on 24 hours for the first week. Then into the main light at 18/6 for the rest of the grow.
The environment is a bit bouncy while I work to get the system right. The heat mat is perfect a it's setting, but the fan needs to be messed with and the dome port needs to be adjusted as well. So far it's not too bad, but the temp keeps dropping below 75°. I'll keep a closer eye on it while I get it to acclimate to the proper total environment.
Germination Center Environment:
Temp: 80.4°
RH: 94.7%
VPD: 0.19 kPa
April 25, 2024
Some ladies are starting to show green!
Today we have 3 of the 5 ladies breaking surface with the shells. One of them is absolutely going to have helmet head. Or whatever it's called. I'll be needing to fix that. I'll wait til tomorrow to see how things go. The other 2 are still working their plugs.
That being said, I reinstalled the dome extension and turned the lights on to 20% power. The DLI is around 10 mol/m²/d. I'll increase the light power in a day or 2 when the rest of the babies pop up. We should end up with the DLI of 12 mol/m²/d when we start seeing leaves.
The environment hasn't been the best. Not my best start by far. I can't keep the temp at a good range. My night time temps are super low and then I get a decent day temp, but then it gets too hot. I'm going to have to figure out the heat mat I think. It's back to normal now, but was like 65° last night. Not good. With the light on now, the temp shouldn't be a problem.
Germination Center Environment:
Temp: 72.6° (too low)
RH: 76.8%
VPD: 0.64 kPa
April 26, 2024
So far I have 4 ladies fully showing with the 5th lacking any movement. She mush not have actually popped. Or maybe a little late. I'll give it 2 more days and see what happens. Anyway, I think I already have my 4 plants now. They will be labeled A through D.
Everything looks great for now. The environment is looking great at 80° and a humidity of 82%. I won't need to mist them at all at this rate. Maybe when they get into the nursery bags I'll need to mist. We shall see.
I'll be leaving the light at 20% for another day or two. Then I'll increase the intensity to 12 mol/m²/d. It should start this run out swimmingly.
One of the babies had a helmet, so I gently removed that this morning. Other than that, nothing else for the day.
Germination Center Environment:
Temp: 78.7°
RH: 80.0%
VPD: 0.69 kPa
April 27, 2024
This is when I normally would start a new week, but these ladies are only in the very early seedling stage. Not on veg. Honestly, I would love for a seedling stage week. Now I'm kind of stuck until I see the first set of true leaves. Another few days no doubt. So it throws off my schedule. Oh well. I'll do my best to keep track.
I have 1 seed that rooted, but never grew up. I'm calling it a loss for now. So 4 of 5 seeds made it out of the plugs. I also have a 4th one that is super wonky. I'll keep it for now. If it looks all messed up over the next few days, I'll have to toss that one as well and just work with 3 plants. Hopefully it won't come to that.
The 3 seedlings that are looking good, look really good. Roots already starting to get exposed. They will be going in the 1/5 gallon nursery bags in a matter of days. Maybe even tomorrow. I don't like too much root to show before transplanting. So that may be a thing tomorrow.
I'll increase the light intensity when they are transplanted. It makes the most sense based on the speed they grow.
The environment is pretty good. Hovering at a temp of 80° and 87.4% humidity. I also gave them a small misting to keep the humidity up and the babies getting all the water they can get without overdoing it.
Germination Center Environment:
Temp: 81.2°
RH: 88.9%
VPD: 0.41 kPa
April 28, 2024 Day 8
Transplant day so first day of the veg/seedling stage. Roots were showing through the plugs and needed to be planted. They went into soil. Bio365 BIOFLOWER. It's supposed to be comparable to Sohum Living Soil which is what I normally use. We will see how it does I guess.
3 of the 4 babies are about 3 inches tall and the 4th is 2 inches. I'll have to keep an eye on that one. I don't want any runts that can't keep up. It will just get cannibalized. So I may end up with 3 instead of 4 plants. We will see how the next week goes.
The environment is going to change slightly until I tweak it back into place. The water on the bottom of the tray will certainly get mostly absorbed by the containers, but there will still be enough to keep the temp and humidity in the area I want it.
The light intensity also changed. Due to the height of the nursery bags, each plant gained about 4" in height. The light was left alone with the extension already in place. I can't get a good DLI measurement. I'll have to come up with something. Anyway, that's it for the day.
Germination Center Environment:
Temp: 78.7°
RH: 82.2%
VPD: 0.60 kPa
April 29, 2024
All 4 seedlings are stretching nicely. The light seems to be on point for them their leaves have flattened out and look great. Good color too.
They got a misting this morning. And will get another 250 ml tomorrow. Only plain water from here to mid veg if not early flower. We shall see how things go with them. They seem to be doing fine with the new soil. I'll keep an eye over the next few days to see how it goes. The plain water should be good. Although, I'm not sure what it means, but the soil is not a fertilizer. I wonder if that means I need to add nutrients at some point. We'll see how it goes. If all goes as it should, I won't need nutrients until week 4 at the earliest.
The lighting is staying the same now. The plants seem to be quite happy with the intensity. In a couple days, I think I'll have to increase the light power to 90%. But not for a couple of days.
The Germination Center hydrometer needs a battery, so I'm kind of blind with the environmental readings. The humidity seems fine as there is condensation on the walls. Temp seems alright as well. It should still be around 80°.
Update: I increased the light power to 70% and dropped the heat mat temp down. The seedlings were all reaching a bit more than I like. They are already pretty stretchy, so I gotta control it. I also put in a different hydrometer for the time being. There's no VPD reading, so we will have to work without it for now. Also no daily average readings. That's a shame.

All 4 ladies look great and are reaching a bit, so I increased the light power to help prevent stretching too much. They are developing really fast though. I will most likely be planting them in their final containers in a week or less.
The environment is pretty good with a temp of 78° and humidity at 83%. Still no VPD yet. But I don't really need it.

May 1, 2024
All 4 ladies have started spreading their leaves and rapidly. They will definitely be out of the Germination Center in about a week. Hopefully a week and a half, but I highly doubt it.
They are also the same height with the exception of that last one that wasn't really coming out of the soil easily. 🤔. I wonder if I should keep it. Let's see how things go in the next week. Maybe I'll be surprised.
They also got 250 ml of water poured into the tray so the plants can suck it all up. The top soil is still moist, so no sense in top watering. I'm mostly using the tray to keep humidity up. It works wonders. I also shouldn't have to do anymore bottom tray watering for a few days.
The lights are now set to 80% power and I think the seedlings are liking it. No more hard reaching, and the leaf growth. It just shows healthy plants.
The environment is still great at 78° and a humidity of 84%. I plan on keeping it there until the plants get too big for the Germination Center, then I'll do my best to drop it so 70% for the first week of actual veg and then down to 60% for the second week on through week 4 of veg. Then I plan to drop it down to 55% and another 5% every week until harvest.

These Sour Diesel seedlings look phenomenal. The environment is fantastic as well. I had to increase the light to 100%. I want to see what happens. I don't think my Photone app is accurate for these lights. 60% power was showing a super high DLI of 36 mol/m²/d. The lights are only like 28 watts, so it should be at like 20 mol/m²/d at 100% power.
One thing I did notice is that all 4 plants stopped stretching and are focusing on building up those first sets of leaves. It's like the perfect height from the light and they are as tall as the extension. The extension is 4" tall, so the seedlings are as well. The actual dome is 4" tall as well, so we have a good 4" of light distance to a 28 watt light set up. I wonder if AC Infinity has the intensity specs. I may send them an email. Maybe.
Speaking of lighting, I can't speak for the intensity as my Photone app doesn't seem to work for this set up and I don't have a light distance to power reference. Or intensity reference.
The environment is spot on with a temp of 78° and the humidity around 84%. Plenty of wiggle room for night time environmental changes.
I added 250 ml of filtered water to the bottom of the tray again. The top soil is still pretty moist, so bottom it is. I'll probably do a top watering at the start of next week. That should coincide with the final transplant, so top watering will make the most sense and will be needed anyway to transplant the nursery bags.

Not much to do for these ladies today. They have plenty of water and I'm keeping the humidity at 84%. The temp is a bit high at 81° where it should be around 78°.
I haven't quite figured out the lighting. The leaves are fine, everything looks good, but I honestly can't tell if they are stressed out or not. And if they are, is it the light or too much water or too rich of a soil? It could be any one of those factors or two maybe even all three.
There is one who's edges are curling up slightly. I'm assuming it's the soil being a bit hot. But I'm not sure. Honestly, it's been almost 3 months since I saw seedlings and I have no idea what I'm looking at. Lol. I might be overthinking things, but there is some sort of stress on at least one of the plants.
The smallest is looking good. It's just smaller than the rest. I'm still not sure what I want to do. As I said before, I'll wait for the transplant.
I'd like to run all 4 plants, but I don't think it's worth running one that will most likely get cannibalized by the rest. Just a waste of soil and nutrients. But we will see. I'll do my best to keep it in though.

May the 4th be with you. 2024 Star Wars all the way!
Today is the last day of week 1 of veg. All 4 plants have excellent growth and are each working on their second node. I'm still hoping I can keep them in the Germination Center for as long as I can. However, I have 2 plants that are ready for harvest. So when they come out, I should be able to put the Germination Center in the big tent. Then there is only 2 plants left to harvest and I after I can do the last transplant into their 3 gallon containers. I have the opportunity to run 5 gallons still. I have 3 yards of soil. I think it's enough for 4 plants. Definitely enough for 3. If I have to get rid of this smaller one, I'll definitely be running 5 gallon containers.
The lights are perfect at 80% power. I can only assume the DLI is around 14 mol/m²/d to 16 mol/m²/d. The plants are looking great with it. Just a slight reach and wonderful color.
The environment is quite nice indeed. The temp is hanging around 77° with the humidity still at 84%. I'll be dropping the humidity down to 75% starting next week. It'll drop down to 65% to 70% when the transplant happens.
Germination Center Environment:
Temp: 78.8°
RH: 82.7%

May 5, 2024 Day 15
This week we will be focusing on getting the plants into their 3 gallon containers. That should be happening this afternoon when I'm up for it, or tomorrow. However, some roots are starting to show on the sides and the plants are starting to get a bit big for the Germination Center. There's still a this one small plant. It seems to just be a smaller plant. I don't know if I'm going to keep it. Just a waste of soil I think.
Speaking of Sour Diesel, all four plants are really healthy. The three normal sized ones are all the same size. Same everything. I can't wait to see how they come out. Still nothing to do with individual plants. They are still too young.
I increased the light power to 100%. They all seem to be loving the light, so why not treat them. Plus they will only be in that light for another few hours to a day. Still no idea what the DLI is. I don't have a PAR map to to refer to. So it's mostly guess work. So I'm guessing by the look of the plants, they don't mind at all.
The environment is still spot on. The temp is hovering around 77° and the humidity is still at 84%. I'm assuming the night temp is around 75°, but the light is on and the heat mat is going. When I plant them, I'm going to have to work the heat and humidity in the 2x2. Happily, this size tent is a pain to keep dry, and I don't need dry, I need humid at least for the next 2 weeks. Then they should be going in the 3x3 with the better light and more space. Perfect.
Update: it's mid afternoon and all 4 babies have been planted in their final 3 gallon containers. Watered in and easy to go. I'm using a 100 watt light for now while I wait for the other plants to finish. Still deciding if I want to keep the small one or not.

So I measured all 4 plants today. 3 of the 4 are 4" flat with the final one being at 3". I already have her in the final container, but if she doesn't catch up soon, I may put her in the 2x2 tent for a solo grow so she doesn't get cannibalized.
I have to wait though. I have plants that are days from harvest, so I'll have to wait a couple of weeks to get her in there.
When that time comes, I'll separate her daily entries so everyone knows what's actually going on. I won't be basing the weekly stats on her though. She will be separate.
I finally labelled each plant. A,B,C and D. You guessed it, D is the small one. I'll be doing daily entries for each once I start seeing more veg.
Watering should be the same, lighting and environment will also be the same for A,B,C and different for D. So just a note for each plant daily.
The light has been turned on in the 2x2 where these babies love for now. It's a 100 w Mars Hydro TS600. I don't really like using it, it's only 100 w. Which will be fine for the time being, but I prefer my better 3x3 240 watt AC Infinity light.
DLI readings for this set up is just under 20 mol/m²/d. Should be good right there for the time spent in here.
The environment is stable at 78% humidity and a temperature of 76°. I'll keep it that way for the rest of this week and see how things go next week. I'll most likely bring the humidity down to 60%. But I'd like to keep the temp up. I've read that Sour Diesel likes heat. Apparently it likes humid and dry climates. Which makes absolutely no sense to me, but whatever. I'll keep it at 60% in veg and then drop it 5% at a time until late flower and 40% will be the where it ends.

I finally added a hydrometer that will read properly and works.
All 4 ladies look great. I'm still concerned about the small one. I'm willing to bet, I'll end up placing it in the 2x2 for the solo grow I was talking about before.
A,B,C all look the same. They are about 5" tall now and have 3 nodes. D on the other hand is just behind. Only 2 nodes and generally smaller.
The light was a bit out of whack. It wasn't level and was pulling super hard to the back of the tent. I fixed that though. I think the DLI is around 20 mol/m²/d. It should be good for this stage. I'll definitely have to drop the light down t
A bit when they get a little older. I'd like to see 25 mol/m²/d before going in the main tent.
The environment is alright. The temp was a bit low this morning. The humidity was also at 61%. Definitely too low for these ladies. It should be up to 70% in a couple hours. The temp already bumped up to 78°. Now I just need to get a humidifier in there.

May 8, 2024
Watering day! So for the first full watering I gave everyone a half gallon of water PHed to 6.0 from the top. I use a stick, so it takes a good bit of time to do it, but I don't need to wait for the soil to absorb. It does so gradually as the water is added gradually.
There seems to be 2 different phenomes. A and D are one with B and C being the other.
A and D have fatter leaves, but they are a bit droopy. Not in a stressed out way. Maybe they needed a bit of water. Not sure, but they look the same besides the height difference.
Speaking of D, I have officially decided to keep her and finish her in a solo 2x2 grow. I just need to wait a few weeks while the other 4 plants are harvested and dried up. In the mean time, I'll keep her in the 3x3 when it gets moved there. Maybe I'll keep her there if she can keep up with the rest. I'm not sure. It's honestly too early to tell.
A, B and C are still all the same height with A being a slightly different structure.
I'll check back later to see how they take to the watering. I don't think a half gallon of water in a 3.4 gallon container will be any problem. It will moisten the whole container to probably about 45% saturation. When the bottom feeding starts in a few weeks, the saturation should go up to 55%. And it should hang out here until the last week or so of the grow. It may spike a bit because the plants doesn't need that much water anymore, but we will cross that bridge when we get there.
The light seems to be perfectly fine for these ladies. In a few days, I'll pull a DLI reading and see where it needs to be. I still feel like these babies are still establishing themselves. Anyway, for another day.
The environment was really good for a while. Now that I have them out of the Germination Center, I needed to figure out the humidity. The solution is a small humidifier. Works perfectly. We have a temp of 77° and the humidity is around 79%. Perfect for this stage. It could stand to be a bit warmer, but this is fine. Plus it should get a bit warmer today after the watering. Science and all that.
Grow System Environment:
Temp: 74.5°
RH: 71.5%
VPD: 0.84 kPa
Note: these numbers are daily averages including lights out. It gives a better idea of what both temps look like. For example. 74.5° is less than 77°, so the night temp much drop below 74° for a 6 hour average to drop the daily so much. But there's a lot to learn once you get the jist of it.
May 9, 2024
Not a bad day. These ladies, even D, are looking great. Good leaf structure, fantastic color. Just all around some nice plants.
They seem to really like the DLI. I'll be taking that reading tomorrow. The plants haven't grown enough to record it more than once a week. So lighting stays the same.
The environment is fantastic. Right within range of not nearly perfect. The temp is around 76° and the Humidity is around 73%. It doesn't fluctuate much, but it still does. Naturally, I expect fluctuations, so I'm not worried about it. As I said, right within range. On the other hand, last night's temp dropped entirely way too low for this stage. I'll have to figure out a happy medium for my room heat and night time temps. Also, you can clearly see the drop in the leverage temp from yesterday. It's super low.
Grow System Environment:

May 10, 2024
Not much going on today. No watering needed. The light looks perfectly fine. Also, the plants are each started to grow at their own pace and size.
While A,B and C are the same height, B is slightly ahead of the others. Strong stem and starting to grow side branches and another node.
D looks like she may catch up after all. She's still not as big as the others, but the slight difference looks like it will either work itself out in veg, or I will just let her get bigger during the stretch with less training.
I don't think I'm going to use a SCroG net this run. I plan on ordering silica to improve stem strength. I think a SCroG net works better in larger setups when you have multiple plants. My tent is just too small to work 4 plants in a SCroG setup. I can only access the front of the tent and the back and sides get neglected. So training and silica it is.
As I said above, no watering needed today. However, I did reactivate the wick system for Tropicana Cookies today. She was drying out fairly quickly, so hopefully with the dryer container, it takes more time for the bottom to saturate.
The lighting is staying the same. I'll check it at the beginning of next week. Although, with a tent this size and lack of space for the light, I'd just assume let the plants grow into it. Maybe I'll drop it to 24" when I see 4 nodes on all plants.
The environment looks great! Cooler at night and nice and warm during lights on. The day temp is about 77° with a humidity of 66%. The night temp is 67° with a humidity of 78%. The humidity is a bit high, but I don't have an automated exhaust system like I do in the 3x3.
I may turn the the exhaust on before I go to bed, but then the morning time will be dry before I wake up. Only for 2 hours, but still. The fluctuation is definitely not welcome.
Grow System Environment:
Temp: 74.1°
RH: 73.6%
VPD: 0.78 kPa
The VPD is a bit low. But that's due to the night time environment which I'll be adjusting tonight.
May 11, 2024
Last day of the week for these 4. They have grown significantly over this week. Excellent leaf growth, beautiful green. All 4 plants look fantastic. Perfect structures. I can't ask for better.
D is still a bit smaller, but is catching up. I don't expect her to stay small forever. I believe she will grow the same size at the end of the flowering stretch.
B seems to be the largest, or most advanced, of the bunch. She is definitely ahead by a node, and a bit taller than the rest. However, her stem is a bit shorter than the rest. A and C both have longer stems, but lacking the robust growth of B.
A and C are about the same. Nearly identical. These could be the same phenotype. With B and D being separate phenotypes.
This coming week, I'll start reporting on the plants individually. It's a bit more work, but much more organized and easier to read.
The light is definitely where it needs to be. I'll check DLI tomorrow.
The environment is still near perfect. However, it was a bit low this morning. Apparently I didn't set the heat high enough. It's fixed now. The temp is around 77° and the humidity at 70%.
No watering today. The pots are still fairly heavy. I think I'll water again tomorrow or test to see how moist the soil is. If I water tomorrow, I think it will only be a quarter gallon.
Everything looks good and that's all there is to report today.

May 12, 2024 Day 22
A new week. A new watering and some noticable size and progress differences.
Let's get to it.
Sour Diesel A:
She looks really good. About 5.5" and fairly strong. I expect her to harden off nicely.
Sour Diesel B:
By the most noticable difference in the bunch. This lady is a whole node ahead of the others. She looks amazing. I wonder if she is going to tower over the rest. I'll have to really focus on LST in the coming weeks. She already has a really stiff stem. Thick as well for her size. I'll have to be careful with the initial bend. She's also a out 6" tall. Not much taller than the others, but the ratio is noticable.
Sour Diesel C:
Just the same as Sour Diesel A. About 5.5" tall, great color and a pretty strong stem. Nothing really noticable between the two for now.
Sour Diesel D:
She is about 5" now. A bit shorter and a bit behind. However, she is about the same strength and progression as A and C. She will most likely end up small. So I'm definitely giving her her own tent.
Sour Diesel B is getting a bit wide now. She's starting to get to the edge of the container. I need that not to happen yet. I won't have space on 4 days. Eek! I'll see how things go.
The rest aren't that far behind either. They are just about at the edge of the container. Not as bad, and they won't be much of an issue for the next couple of days.
All four plants got 1/4 gallon top watering today. I don't like to flood the soil as my bottom feed system does not. So it makes sense to start low and work my way up.
Eventually they will take in about a gallon a day. But by then, they will be well off on their bottom feed systems. Anyway, 1/4 gallon plain tap water each.
I've set the DLI to 25 mol/m²/d for the week. I don't think it's going to stay like that for very long. I don't have top space left and this is not a dimming light. So if I have to I can only drop the light down.
The environment is looking excellent. I stopped using the humidifier since the watering brought the humidity up to 70% all on its own. I'll have it down to 60% by the end of the week. For now it's nearly perfect with a temp of 77° and the humidity at 71%.
The night temp is a bit low for this stage. It's 64° at night. Very low. I'd rather it be closer to 70° during lights out. As soon as they go in the 3x3, it will be fine at 70° during lights out.

Not much to do today. No watering needed, no light changes, no pics. Just planning out LST starting in the next day or 2, especially for Sour Diesel B. She is growing quickly and is starting to grow over her container rim.
Sour Diesel A looks great! Long base stem, nodes are a bit tight, but it's not the light. It's just how she's growing for now. I expect her to stretch those nodes out in no time.
Sour Diesel B is shaping out to be a pretty vigorous plant. If she keeps this up, she may end up towering over the other plants. I'll have to work on a plan of action. Most likely more LST and maybe a SCroG net for the stretch. Just to keep things low and level with the rest of the canopy.
I plan on tying her top down at node 4. It's just starting, but it's super pliable and will be tall enough in a day or two.
Sour Diesel C is just the same as A. She is sporting shorter internodal spacing but has a nice long base stem. Much easier to get under the plant when defoliation time comes.
Sour Diesel D. Now this plant is still behind the others. She has the same tight internodal spacing like A and C, but smaller. Depending on what happens with how these plants grow, I might be able to keep her in the main tent with the rest of the plants. However, if she ends up too short or if B ends up being too tall, she's going in the 2x2. Hopefully she will end up as big as the others and I can put my 2x2 away for now.
The light is going to stay the same while in the veg tent. I can't turn it down, nor can I lift it any higher, so the plants will have to naturally grow into it for the time being. It's should be perfectly fine. Plus it's only for a few more days.
I'll be harvesting a couple of Tropicana Cookies in a couple of days and that'll open up plenty of space for these 4 smaller plants without cramming them in. That's where my only concern with Sour Diesel B comes in. She may grow faster and be too big to fit in the tent with the other 5 plants. I hope not. I have a final 2 plants almost ready for harvest in the 3x3. They aren't huge, so they shouldn't really overshadow these ladies. At least not much.
The environment is spot on. 77° and 72% humidity. Night time is fine I guess. Kind of cold in my opinion. It's at 67° on average at night with a low of 63.4° and a high of 73.7°. That's for lights out. Daytime is perfectly fine.

Not a lot going on today. Just some pics and a water weight check. Still heavy. The solo pics will be every other day and the Veg Tent pic will be everyday with the grow day marked.
Sour Diesel A is stretching nicely now. She can start training in a couple days. Great color. Beautiful leaves.
Sour Diesel B is amazing. She's growing out now and has a strong stem. The very top is pliable. Not great for training. I might have to wait for a bit more stretch from her.
She has some excellent internodal spacing. Perfect greens and 7 finger leaves. A great sign for a healthy plant.
She's definitely going to be the star of this show. But who knows. Sometimes, another plant will shoot up out of nowhere. It's happened to me. One plant looked great while the other had some early stress. That one turned into a 21 oz monster. Insane. Anyway, there you have it. Right now any of them to could just take off, but I'm putting my money with this lady.
Sour Diesel C still has some tight internodal spacing. I need to wait for her to start stretching so she can begin training. We'll see when that will be. Great colors and super healthy, just growing differently for now.
Sour Diesel D is the definite runt of the bunch. She's not far behind though and I may actually get to keep her in the tent with the rest and put my veg tent away for the next 6 or 7 weeks.
Still, I have the option of keeping it out and using it to keep space open for all plants. 3 in a 3x3 would leave tons of room for them to bush out and fill the canopy.
Anyway, great color and very healthy regardless of size. She still may produce a good yield.
The light will stay the same as always. They all have a slight reach going on and I couldn't be happier. I'll run a DLI check before I move them to the big tent. So I know what light level to start at.
The environment is looking great! The temp is at a nice 77° and the humidity is right at 72%. That will drop when they get in the 3x3. I'll keep it at 60% for the rest of the Veg cycle.
I'd also like to note about the medium. This is super soil I think. Or it's just loaded with nutrients. Happily all of the plants too swimmingly to it with no stress. My only thing is with adding nutrients. I don't really have any veg nutrients at the moment, but as this is hot soil, I don't think I'll need any for the veg cycle anyway.
However, flowering may be a different story. I have Advanced Nutrients Big Bud, Bud Candy, Overdrive, Sensi Cal/Mag Xtra, Tasty Terpenes and B-52. I think I'll use them. I could use the B-52 during veg, but as I said, this is hot soil. So unless they show signs of deficiency during Veg, I won't add it. No sense in overdoing it. These are autoflowers and don't need a ton of nutrients.

All 4 ladies got a quarter gallon of water today. I forgot to PH it, so that's a mistake. I will definitely remember next time. Tap water is 7.3.
Sour Diesel A looks great! Her branches are growing nicely and fast. She has nearly caught up with B, but she's still 1 node behind. This one seems to be a straight hybrid phenome.
Sour Diesel B looks amazing! She has doubled in size and her branches are about half way to the edge of the container. Very exciting. This is a sativa dominant phenome.
Sour Diesel C also looks great. She still has the tight internodal spacing, but it's getting better. She looks to be the same phenome as A is.
Sour Diesel D is a straight up indica dominant phenome. Her leaves are super wide compared to the other plants. She is still smaller, but not by a lot. Branching hasn't really started yet. Not like A and B.
All four plants are super healthy with perfectly green leaves. Their stems are pretty strong. Especially B. Her stem is very close to being unable to train. We shall see. I may be just pulling the side branches out and defoliating that one.
The light seems to still be perfect. Slight praying on the outside and perfect on the inside. I rotated B because of this. She was starting to pull towards the light. I may be able to drop it down a smidge for a bit more intensity. They should be able to handle it and maybe grow even faster. I just don't want squat plants. Not leggy either. Where they are at is just right.
The environment hasn't given me a problem yet. Temp remains in the high 70°s and the humidity stays just around 70%. I think I'm going to drop it a bit earlier than I intended. I think it's time for the humidity to be closer to 60%. The temp will definitely stay the same, if not climb to the very low 80°s. The night time environment is a bit cold running at and average of 66.8° with the humidity climbing up to 80%. Once I drop humidity, the temp should increase. And once they get in the 3x3 tent, they won't have any problems keeping it at 60% and 77°. The night temp should also increase slightly. I'm hoping for 68° to 69° average and I'd like the humidity to remain at 60%. Shouldn't be a problem.

All 4 ladies are showing vigor. They will definitely need water tomorrow, but are all very happy plants. Huge leaves, strong stems. Beautiful color green.
Sour Diesel A is now the second best of the 4. She's a little shorter than B, but has started spreading her branches and stretching to spread that internodal spacing. She looks great!
Sour Diesel B is absolutely stunning. She has beautiful leaves of a lush green. Perfect internodal spacing ratio and a super stiff stem. The branches are nearly at the edge of the container from both nodes 1 and 2. Node 3 is about half way there with node 4 and 5 just starting out. Eventually, I'll have to tie her down, but as I said before, I may train her differently and just pull out the side branches.
Sour Diesel C still has some pretty short nodes. Tall main stem, and she is starting to stretch, but still kind of tight. Huge leaves though. Like massive for the size of the plant. And I'm pretty sure she has the biggest leaves of all the plants. Indica dominant? Or straight up hybrid? We'll find out soon enough.
Sour Diesel D is still short, but is catching up to C. And much like C, she is showing short nodes and big leaves. Beautiful color and a very nice plant, but not as nice as the other 3.
I think I'll rotate them out tomorrow. Put A and B in the back with C and D up front. My light may be unlevel. I don't think I can fix it though. It's too light and the power cord is super stiff, so it pulls the light one way.
Oh and I need to check the DLI. I have a feeling I can drop it down now. Just a few inches I think. Just to get that DLI up and make these ladies shoot up.
The environment is still really nice with a temp of 77° and the humidity at 68%. Night temps are an average of 66°. I'll leave it his way until I get into the big tent which should be tomorrow. Or even tonight depending on how I feel. I have to check trichomes on one thing plants in the main tent and if they look ready, I can swap them out.

We have finally moved into the main tent. It's a super tight fit, but it fits nonetheless. Now things to note as we go into the main tent.
First, I'm pretty sure my light in the 2x2 wasn't level front to back. Mostly because Sour Diesel A and B are now twice as tall as Sour Diesel C and D. More developed and perfect spacing between the nodes.
To solve this issue, I changed the orientation. In the very back of the tent, behind these ladies is the last Tropicana Cookies. This plant is floppy and bendy to say the least. That being said, it's propped up by one of the Banana Purple Punch's on the right with the second one in the right front.
I placed Sour Diesel A and B in the back in front of the Tropicana Cookies. It's taller so there's less light getting to these two. In turn I put Sour Diesel C and D up front where there is more access to light. Let's hope they catch up. If not, then maybe they are different phenomes afterall.
Sour Diesel A looks great! Completely caught up with B now. Beautiful color and strong stem. Her branches aren't as long as B, but they are definitely getting there. I think I'll start training in the next day or two.
Sour Diesel B is amazing! Her nodes are perfect, her branches are spreading out to the edge of the container now and she is just begging to be trained. However, her stem is really thick and strong. So I have to wait for her to take off which should be any day. Then there is the pre-flower stretch. I'll be training just before that and a little bit during, just to position the branches accordingly.
Sour Diesel C is shorter than A and B. About half the size to be honest. Right internodal spacing and I'm pretty sure lack of light quality kept them like this. I don't think it was too much light. That would t make any sense with a 100 watt light nearly 36 inches away. No chance. Anyway, so that's what I think happened.
Sour Diesel D is still small as ever, but is now the same size as C, so that's a thing. As I said before, I put her up front with C to get a bit more light. Hopefully she catches up with A and B. If not, it's not really a big deal. All I have to do is place them on one side of the tent with risers and the taller two on the other side. I favor the taller on the left and shorter on the right. It's just the way the tent door opens and placement.
I'll check the DLI today at some point today. It should be around 20 to 25 mol/m²/d which is spot on with the stage they are in. Also a much better light, so much better light quality and more efficient intensity.
The environment in the main tent is a nightmare for the flowering plants, but for these 4 it's paradise. The Temp is hovering around 76° and the humidity is 62%. There's tons of airflow, so I'm not all that worried about the flowering plants for now. They get well taken care of. Of course I'm trying to drop the humidity down a lot for the flowering plants, but the weather here won't let me. It's been ridiculously humid out for the last week.
Grow System Environment:

Quick Update:
I had to increase the light power from 60% to 80%. I can't really move the light down yet, so I just I increased the power. Once all the other plants are out of the tent, I'll adjust accordingly
I also took the light distance measurement and we are at a whopping 40.5" away. No matter, the DLI is what matters, and it's correct.

No watering today. Just some leaf tucking and rearranging.
Sour Diesel A looks great! She is the same size as B. Maybe a tiny bit taller now, but her branches aren't all that long yet. I could only tuck 3 leaves on this one. Still looks good and grew nearly 2" last night. Super vigorous.
Sour Diesel B is the star of this show so far. Her branches are all long enough for full leaf tucking. I don't know how I plan on training her up. Maybe I'll bend the top, maybe I'll leave it alone and tie down the side branches. We shall see how things go.
Sour Diesel C is smaller with shorter branches and still tight nodes. She's definitely not going to catch up to A and B. Not with how vigorous they are growing. Unless they stop randomly. Anyway, C looks good. She has perfectly healthy leaves and big ones at that. I managed to tuck 2 leaves, but that was it.
Sour Diesel D is the same size as C. Same branch length. And no tucking available.
She does look healthy. Super healthy, just growing differently.
The light is perfectly spot on. I won't be changing it at all until all the other plants are out of the tent. Then I'll set the light to 24" from the canopy and power level down to 60% for a week. Maybe 70%, but I doubt it. We shall see
The environment is perfect for these 4 plants. Not exactly perfect for the flowering plants. Actually, it's super horrible for the flowering plants. The temp is around 77° and the humidity is around 65%. Perfect for these ladies.

May 19, 2024 Day 29
This week we focus on training. I'm debating on doing a couple different things to see what happens. I'm definitely tying down branches. But I may top one of the taller ones and train the branches out to see how different it looks than the other tall one.
Sour Diesel A is now sitting the tallest at 11.5". Her branches aren't as long yet, but she's taller than B. Her stem is still pretty flexible, so I'll be tying her down from the top.
Sour Diesel B has lost her place as tallest plant. She sits at 11.0" tall but has wonderful side branching. Definitely ready to tie down and spread out, maybe. I think if I top any plant it will be this one. She has 7 nodes now and she's definitely old enough for it. Also, her stem is really stiff now and I don't think I can bend it at all. So I may research topping.
Sour Diesel C is the same size as D sitting at just 7" tall. Her internodal spacing is really tight still. I'm hoping she starts to grow soon. I will swap her and D out with A and B tomorrow.
She has beautiful leaves with nice deep green. Super healthy.
Sour Diesel D is actually spreading out her nodes now. She's still only 7", but I'm not expecting her to be super tall like the other 2. We'll see how tall she gets. But she has some nicely even internodes now. Great color.
All 4 ladies got a half gallon of plain water PHed to 6.1 today. And all 4 drooped just a tiny bit and not for long at all. But that half gallon seems to have done the trick. No watering for a few days.
I haven't changed the lighting yet as I still have other plants in the tent, but it will be changed soon enough. The DLI really should be at 30 mol/m²/d, but that's just not happening at the moment.
The environment is looking great for these 4. The humidity is at 65% but the temp is a bit low. I'm running the tent at 73° because of flowering plants. I've been trying to get it to 75°, but then the humidity spikes. It's pretty dry out today, so in theory, my room humidity should drop. It hasn't, but it should. That may let me get the temp up to 75° without making it too warm in my room.

These ladies are looking absolutely great! Especially A and B. D is also starting to shape up. C is a bit lost. Maybe she needs to be moved to a different spot. I think I'll rotate her out with D.
Sour Diesel A looks magnificent. He's growing very quickly and has a bunch of nodes. The branches are starting to stretch as well. Looking good. I can start training anytime I want now. I think I'll start tomorrow with this one.
Sour Diesel B is beautiful with her long side branches and a healthy green color. I should start training her today, but I'll also wait for tomorrow.
Sour Diesel C is needing a bit of love. Not really much I can do with the space I have available at the moment, but I think I'm still able to manage. She still looks healthy and happy, just short nodes.
Sour Diesel D is coming to her own now. She is showing great signs of stretching and spreading out those nodes. She also is starting to grow branches out finally. Very healthy plant.
No watering today. Obviously, because they were watered yesterday. I'd say a good 3 days before needing another watering.
I'd also like to mention that I'm already seeing pre flowering signs. Little white pistils coming from where the bud sites will be. So I'm thinking these ladies are in pre-flower, or very close to it. It may take another week for them to really show it, but by then, they should be pretty big and alone in the tent.
The lighting is the same, but they are starting to grow into it. Well, at least A and B are. C and D will need a bit of a push when the tent opens up for them. I'm also thinking they will need risers to keep up with the other 2.
The environment is perfect for these ladies. The temp is a little low for them, but nothing crazy. 74° but the humidity is still at 65%. So we are looking good for now. It should stay this way for the next week or so. At least until I get the other 3 flowering plants out.

A bit of a to do today. Training happened and so did pics. And some well needed environmental adjustments.
Sour Diesel A is a perfect candidate for tie down LST and so right was I. She got a perfect 90° bend just to the edge of the container. I couldn't be happier with the result.
Being as tall as she is, the bend only went about half way down the stem and didn't touch the angle of the base. Perfect.
Unfortunately, I can't tie down the side branches yet as I don't have the space to do so. But I can let the whole plant catch up before I do another tie down. I might just pull the branches out around the base of the container to make sure all the space is taken up by bud sites. I should t have a problem. It will be slightly different from what I normally do, but I can adjust when the tent frees up.
This ladies has started pre-flower now. I can't wait for the stretch to really start. Hopefully it takes a couple more days. I still have to pull another plant.
Sour Diesel B was also a neat perfect candidate for the top bend. She is much stiffer and the bend only went down about a quarter the way, but it's still a perfect 90° angle and still just inside the edge of the container. That will be a long the edge by tomorrow.
She is also in pre-flower now. 31 days makes total sense, so I'm happy.
Her side branches are beautiful and long. I'll need to start tying them down soon. No clue how I'm going to manage it with such little available space for now, but I can always adjust when the tent clears out and there's plenty of space.
Sour Diesel C is growing, but not as tall as one would think. It's just the position in the tent they are at. They are under 3 other plants and not getting enough light. As soon as I move the Tropicana Cookies out in a couple days, I'll be able to give them as much light as they need. I may even have to raise them up a bit. We'll see how things go in the next few days.
Sour Diesel D is another story. She isn't looking to shabby at all. Nice spread of nodes, she's starting to stretch a bit, but nowhere near as much as A and B. But she still isn't much taller than C.
I'll be watering all 4 ladies tomorrow I think. Each with a half gallon of water. I'm trying the wet and dry method, kinda. I'm giving a little extra water than I normally would and waiting an extra day. So far it seems to be working wonders.
In a couple weeks, they will all be bottom fed for the rest of the grow. I've found that 3 gallon containers take in about a third of a gallon a day during peak flowering time. Maybe a half gallon a day, depending on how big the plants are. And how many roots break through the bottom of the container.
I like the bottom feed because the ant takes what it needs and I can build a nice crust on the top soil for pest control and protection. The bottom feed wick system works wonders and keeps the containers between 45% and 55% saturation. It seems to be on point for cannabis. I may be wrong, but that's the reading I get for all of my plants. Especially the bigger ones.
As I said earlier, the environment got some much needed adjustments today. The central air finally kicked on and that blows out super dry conditioned air. Very clean. And keeps the humidity down. So the humidity didn't drop as low as it should have, but it takes time for the moist air to be forced out. At least the tent is at around 60%. And dropping slowly, but dropping.
At this stage, I think it should be between 55% and 60% humidity. the temp is staying at 75°. A great temp for all ladies in the tent.

Not much going on today. Made some training adjustments and will be watering tomorrow.
Also, there's about 50 days left in the grow according to Seedsman. They say the flowering time is around 45 days. Add a few for pre-flower and there we have it. 50 days. Let's see how well I do for the next 50 days. I hope I can harvest by then.
Sour Diesel A is looking fantastic. She took quite well to her first bend, so I pulled her down just a little bit more. If course now the side branches are growing quite quickly. Very healthy and happy plant.
Sour Diesel B also looks amazing. Her side branches are all getting nice and long with really good internodal spacing. She took swimmingly to her first bend and as I did with A, I pulled her down a little bit more to keep the main top at 90°. As soon as space frees up, I'll tie all the side branches down to get a nice canopy going.
Sour Diesel C is beginning to stretch out a bit. The nodes are finally spacing out which of course means the stretch is just about to start. Huge leaves. Also overlapping the other 3 plants.
Sour Diesel D is starting to look really good. Still shorter than A and B, but catching up, especially now that they were tied down.
The light will be dropped in a couple days and I'll be adjusting the DLI. It should be at 35 mol/m²/d and it's not. So I have to lower the light about 12" and drop the power down to 60%.
The environment is great for these ladies. So far we have hit the mid 50s% humidity and are at just over 61% now. The Central Air is off for now, but will kick on anytime. Once that turns on the humidity will drop again. Currently I'm stuck using my portable AC that blows wet, room temperature air that jacks up the RH. The temp is still pretty good at 57°.

I was going to water today, but I was really busy with my last Tropicana Cookies wet trim and harvest. The soil moisture content is around 33%, so it should be fine until tomorrow.
Speaking of harvesting, now that the Tropicana Cookies are both gone, I have plenty of space for now. They still need to be tied down and trained. I'll be harvesting the two Banana Purple Punch's in a week so when those are gone, there will be plenty of space to really train them and get myself a really nice canopy.
Sour Diesel A looks great! Her branches are reach straight up though. Definitely because of the tight quarters and light intensity. Now that she is under the light and not impeded by another plant, she should start stretching even more.
Sour Diesel B is looking amazing as ever. As with A, her branches are sticking straight up for now. That will be adjusted starting in a couple days I think, if not tomorrow.
Sour Diesel C is starting to fall a bit behind. Not by much, but a little bit. I'm sure she will bounce back in no time now that she has plenty of light. But I'll keep an eye on her. If she turns out smaller, I still have the 2x2 in a couple weeks.
Sour Diesel D looks great! She is catching up to A and B in girth. Great internodal spacing and side branching is looking good. I expect her to take off with the extra space now and more access to the light.
The lighting needs to be checked and I'll do all that tomorrow. Along with the watering and possible LST.
The environment is finally at a reasonable level for these ladies. It was kinda cool today, but the humidity is down to 52% and is just right for this stage. The temp was about 72° for most of the day. But will climb back up in a matter of a few hours.

Watering day! Each plant got a half gallon of plain water PHed to 6.1 from the top.
The last Tropicana Cookies is now out of the tent and now there's plenty of space. I have them staggered with A in the back then D, B then C. Not too much more space, but enough for me to pull branches out a bit.
Honestly though, they are making their own level canopy, so I might do some very light training this run instead of heavy. It all depends on how they look in about a week.
Speaking of in a week, I'll be pulling the 2 Banana Purple Punch's out in a week. That opens the whole tent up and each planet gets their own quadrant. I think I have the timing right on this. Hopefully I'm right and these ladies will be able to be trained more.
Sour Diesel A looks great. Her single tie down increased the height of the side branches and she is creating her own flat canopy. I'm definitely going to have to pull branches apart and tie them down soon. Hopefully I can hold off for a week.
Sour Diesel B has a wonderful canopy going. Her branches are all falling into place around the whole plant. Opening up each top for all the sunlight they can get. It's pretty impressive. I'll definitely have to train her down soon. I may have to in less than a week as well, so this might make things pretty tight again.
Sour Diesel C got a perfect top bend today. Her branches are a little behind and she's making the standard Christmas tree structure. So this bend should fix that and give her the start of a nice level canopy.
Sour Diesel D is coming along nicely. I accidentally broke one of the main stem fan leaves. No big deal, but it was still a mistake made. Oops. Her nodes are starting to spread out a bit, but she is definitely a compact plant. It's too soon to tell how big she will get. So far it looks like she'll be stretching, so who knows. Maybe she'll get to 2 ft.
The plants have grown into the light and will need an adjustment in maybe a week. I'll be checking the DLI later today. I'm pretty sure they won't need any changes in the immediate future. We shall see.
Update: I checked the DLI and got a reading of 24 mol/m²/d. Much too low for these ladies. They should be around 35 mol/m²/d. I'll have to figure out a way to increase the intensity without hurting the other plants in the tent. They should grow right into it though. Now that stretching is about to begin. We shall see. I'll update again if I figure out a solution.
The environment is back up to 59% and the temp is around 76°. It's ok I guess, but I'd really like it down to about 55% to 50%. 50% would be great for this week to be honest.

It's the end of the week and the weather sucks! Its rainy and humid out. Really humid. So the tent is now suffering.
Sour Diesel A looks really good. A little sparse on one side for branching. I am not a fan of when this happens. I need to pull out about 4 branches to get an even spread and I can't at the moment for two reasons. Firstly, there just isn't space yet to spread the branches out as needed. Some of the branches are fairly tall, but the top is still taller. It's really stiff so I can't bend the top down again. Maybe during the stretch I'll be able to, but not at the moment. The second reason is side branch size. I have to move 4, but only 2 of the branches are long enough so far.
Sour Diesel B is looking absolutely amazing. She has a level top and an even spread as well. I technically shouldn't have to train her, but I'm going to as soon as she has the space.
Sour Diesel C looks really good. She took perfectly to the training and has a perfect 90° bend on the top. The rest of the canopy is a little behind, so I may have to pull the top down again tomorrow. By then the side branches should have caught up.
Sour Diesel D is going to be my untrained plant for this grow. I train all my plants, so leaving this one alone is nerve racking. Lol.
She looks pretty good. Side branches aren't very far behind the top, but it's definitely going to bush up and maybe grow fairly tall. We shall see how she goes. Maybe I'll have a 3 oz top.
The environment is a mess. The temp is at 75° which is fine, but the humidity went back up to 60%. It's not bad for now, but when they hit flower, the humidity needs to go down to 50%. 55% would be ok, but I'd rather 50%.

May 26, 2024 Day 36
The first week of flower has started. Bring on the stretch! All 4 ladies are just finishing up with pre-flower and are looking wonderful.
A bit to do today. We have watering, photos, reorganization and maybe a tie down or 2. We will see about the tie downs. Also need to measure height and light distance. DLI must be recorded as well.
All 4 ladies are getting a half gallon of water today. And the start of the flowering nutrients. This week we start small with Bud Candy and Sensizym. There's more I could add, but I don't have it. Next week we will add Big Bud and week 3 will be B-52 and Tasty Terpenes. I may also add Cal/Mag Xtra at some point as well. Probably next week. Just to keep it all happy.
I also have Recharge and may use that depending on how we are doing in a week or so. I don't have much so I don't want to waste any if I don't need to.
Because this soil is hot, I don't expect to use much in nutrients. So it should keep my costs down. Just a little added boost. I also have Overdrive which I will be using the last 2 weeks of flower. At half strength instead of quarter.
Sour Diesel A looks great. A little lopsided, but I can fix that next week when the tent frees up. She is roughly 16 inches tall and is missing a branch. I just noticed that today. There's a fan leaf there, it no branch. Weird.
Sour Diesel B has the best structure of the group. She's about 15 inches tall with a perfectly level canopy. Some of the newer side branches have a little bit to go to get up to the rest of the canopy, but the lower side branches are all caught up to the top. They are also pretty well spread out around the containers edge.
Sour Diesel C is looking like the smallest of the bunch. It's to be expected as she got a later tie down. She'll bounce back in no time. Her side branches are pretty level with her top of not a little taller. Her structure is shaping out to be pretty nice. Maybe a little on the shorter side and a bit more bushy.
Sour Diesel D is starting to stretch now. She went from the shortest and smallest to the same height as B. Around 15 inches. Still no training. She has pretty good internodal spacing now and looks like she will be a standard Christmas tree structure. Eventually I'll have to pull her branches out to make room for more branches and better airflow. So far I don't have to do anything.
I got a light measurement today at 30 mol/m²/d. About 10 mol/m²/d too low. Apparently it should be at 40 mol/m²/d, but I think the calculator I'm using isn't counting for the weeks difference from photos. I'm pretty sure it should be at 35 mol/m²/d now. Still 5 off, but at least it's not 10. That's a hell of a difference. So is 5, but it's only for another 5 or so days. Not to mention , they seem to be growing into the light quite nicely. It's still a long distance, but the power is up to 80% so it should be fine.
The environment is really messed up today. Yet again it's super humid out. The temp was too low earlier, but now it's back up to 75°. The humidity is back up over 60% and was super high this morning at close to 70%. No damage that I can see and I know what happened and it's been resolved. My ac was set to 66° for the night and it didn't pull the humidity air out. It took me nearly 4 hours to get it to budge, but finally it seems to be leveling out.

These ladies are looking great! They still have nice and moist containers AND some significant growth from Sour Diesel D.
So far nobody seems to be unhappy with the watering and the nutrients. I know it was a small dose, but still a dose in hot soil nonetheless.
Sour Diesel A looks fantastic! I did a different kind of bend today. Instead of following the edge of the container like I normally do, I bent the top back in toward the center of the plant. So now the big open space in the center is all filled in. It should also help increase some of the upper nodes growth speed. All in all, she looks great! I can't wait to see what happens with this bend.
Sour Diesel B is still the start of the show. She has a flat canopy with long side branches. As she grows, it'll be really easy to access the base of the plant. Very excited. She'll definitely need some tie downs when the rest of the tent frees up. Only to spread out the branches and allow access to the auxiliary branches. It will all be done in 4 to 6 days.
Sour Diesel C is now my small one of the bunch. She's not too tall and her branches are a bit short. I have a feeling if I don't get her into her own quadrant soon, she will end up being cannibalized by the other plants in the tent. It should t be a problem. Not to mention I have risers for such occasions. So we are definitely covered for this one. She also has some weak side branches. I believe it's due to being pressed against the walls of the tent. Or just not the strongest performer. Maybe she will end up in the 2x2 after all. We'll see in about 2 weeks. I'll do my best to not move her though. The light in the 3x3 is just better.
Sour Diesel D took off last night. She started at 14" yesterday and today she is over 16" tall. She's definitely the first one to take off. It's because she didn't get my training, so there's no hormone changes or anything like that from LST. I think I figured that out. Even LST causes some stress, but mostly the hormones change and redirecting energy to the side branches. Tht has to take some time. Maybe a day or 2. We shall see. No one has had much training so far. Not like I normally do.
The lighting is fine. They are definitely growing into it. I'm still going to adjust it ASAP though. I like perfect lighting.
The environment is a bit wonky for them at the moment. The temp is a bit low and the humidity too high. The temp is t 74° with the humidity at 65%. Not good. I'm working on it, but it's really humid today. I'll be opening the tent periodically throughout this time to get fresh air in there immediately. It might not drop the humidity that much, but enough to give the plants a break from the wet air.

More space opened up in the tent today. Harvested another plant.
Sour Diesel A is looking great with her inward bend. She has a bit more space now that D is in another corner. I'll be able to train her out in just a few days.
Sour Diesel B is just vibing. She looks great and has some fantastic side branching. can't wait to see how she turns out when I train her.
Sour Diesel C got her own quadrant today. Let's hope the extra light helps her catch up to the rest of the group. She's not really that much smaller than everyone else. But she is smaller.
Sour Diesel D grew another inch last night and isn't stopping. Her side branches are looking really nice and I believe she is shaping out to be quite a nice plant.
The lighting will be fixed for these ladies in just a matter of days now. Until then it stays the same.
The environment wasn't too bad today. Still super high at around 62%, but nowhere near 70%. It was up like that early this morning.

Not much going on today. All 4 ladies will be watered tomorrow. But today was just the one pic.
Sour Diesel A is looking spectacular. Her branches are all caught up and her canopy is nice and level. In just a few more days, I'll be trimming her out.
Sour Diesel B is still the star of the show. Excellent side branching and beautiful canopy. She'll especially need water tomorrow.
Sour Diesel C is looking really good. Shorter, but a nice level canopy. Healthy as a horse and doing her thing. I moved her out of the single quadrant and moved in Sour Diesel B. It just fit better this way.
Sour Diesel D is hanging out in the back just doing her thing. She has excellent side branching and her Christmas tree structure is really starting to show.
The light is the same. A few more days.
The environment is even worse today. It's all humid and rainy out. Killing the good vibes. Temps is hovering around 75° and the humidity is spiking up to 65%.
(It's even worse on the dry tent.)
Quick update: I took the risers out from under the other plant. Now everyone has plenty of light space and no plants overshadowing. I also got to lower the light to 24". The power is at 60% and the DLI is 38 mol/m²/d. Looking good.

All 4 ladies now have their own quadrant. The last plant was finally moved to the dark tent.
Let the training begin. I'll start that tomorrow.
They will also be getting a half gallon each and I'll be activating the bottom feed system.
Sour Diesel A looks great! She will be a lot of fun to train out. Such good branching. Her canopy is already pretty level, but there's lower branches that need to catch up. The auxiliary branches also need to catch up. Best way to do that is to flatten out the canopy and give them plenty of light.
Sour Diesel B is the same as A. She will definitely be a lot of fun to train. Same great branching. I may have to do it slightly different as I don't have an inward bend on this one. Her top is really tall like her branches, but also super stiff. I need to bend it down again to level out the rest of the branches. Just one more time. That will be the last top bend I would need. The rest will be side branching.
Sour Diesel C is looking pretty good. She won't need as much training. As A and B, but training she will need. Mostly to keep her level with the rest of the tent.
Sour Diesel D is looking really good without training. She seems to be staying the same height as A and B. She hasn't shot up yet, but I think that may happen in the next few days.
The environment is still a bit of a mess, so I'm working on it. It should adjust over the next day. It's warm and dry out now, so the temp and humidity should level out. I'm looking for 77° and 50% humidity. I might have to put my second dehumidifier back in the tent to get it down to 50%.
The temp is a bit lower than I want and I may increase the light power and raise it just to bring in more heat. I've turned the exhaust fan down and will sacrifice a little humidity. But I don't think I'll gain all that much. We shall see tomorrow once the reservoirs are installed and the ladies are trained down. I'm going to have to mess with it anyway.

Watering day! All 4 ladies got a half gallon top feed each. None of them had runoff, but they are still showing signs of too much water. It will be perfectly fine in a matter of hours.
Anyway, I watered in a quarter gallon at a time, switched to another plant and back again to make the intended half gallon. I did add the nutrients as well. It's only 1 ml per gallon, so it should be perfectly fine.
What I didn't do today is install the reservoirs. I just changed the light yesterday, so I don't think I want to mess with it again. So I'll install the reservoirs next week. They will need watering and then I can fill their reservoirs up and never have to top feed again.
Sour Diesel A looks really good. Nice and strong side branches. Very healthy.
Sour Diesel B got the same inward bend as A. The stem was finally long and pliable enough to get a really nice 90 degree bend. I also got to pull down a couple side branches. Now the canopy is spread out but still level. Looking great!
Sour Diesel C got a couple tie downs as well today. I also had to anchor her trunk as it was leaning too far to the side. It worked a charm. I tied down a few branches to keep the canopy level. She's still pretty short. And I'm not sure how tall she will get, but I'm hoping the hormonal reaction to the tie downs will speed up growth.
Sour Diesel D is the picture of health. Her side branches are nice and strong. Main trunk is hardening off and she's now taller than the rest by about 2 inches after they were tied down. This is, of course, to be expected with a plant I'm not training.
It was a little cool in the tent today and I think a lot of it has to do with the light power. At 60% the light just isn't warm enough to carry the temp of the tent. So I increased the power level to 70% and checked the DLI. It's perfectly at 38 mol/m²/d for each plant. Dead center of the tent is about 45 mol/m²/d.
I also added the second dehumidifier back into the tent. I think it will be a lot better than the other when the reservoirs are installed. It's smaller and blows from the top instead of the sides. Hopefully it's the only one I'm going to need during late flower.
The current temp and humidity are perfectly fine for these ladies. 78° and 55% humidity. Just right for this week of life. I'll work to get it down to 50% over next week. I think I'll try to leave the temp at 78° it's great for now. I'll drop the temp to 74° in 3 weeks when the buds start to really swell.

Last day of the first week of flower. All ladies look great! No watering today, no training, just pics.
Sour Diesel A looks fantastic. Her structure is a bit wonky. More triangular than square or rounded. I'll have to fix that tomorrow.
Sour Diesel B is the biggest of the 4. She has a fantastic structure and wonderful side branching. She'll need a bit more training tomorrow. Just to pull down a couple branches that are getting taller than the rest.
Sour Diesel C also looks great. Her structure is that of B, but smaller. Very healthy plant. She will need more training, but I'm trying to see if she will catch up with less training.
Sour Diesel D looks absolutely perfect. No training and no defoliation and she's still pretty open and has wonderful air flow. She's also starting to get taller than the rest, but that is to be expected.
The light is perfect. I have the power level at 70% and the height at 24" (my favored height) the DLI is at 38 mol/m²/d. Next week we will bring it up to 40 mol/m²/d and the week after will be 45 mol/m²/d.
The environment is starting to look better. This morning the temp was only at 70°, and it took nearly 2 hours to get the temp back up to 77°. The humidity is really weird. It's dry in my room. Like 44% dry. The tent is still stuck at 57% humidity. I don't understand. I have 2 dehumidifiers, low humidity and my exhaust fan on a lower setting to keep the dry air in there and it's still high.

June 2, 2024 Day 43
A new week and some decent changes going on. Lighting, watering and environment.
This week we focus on training and leveling out the canopy. The main stretch should be starting any day now and I want to have the canopy level to start. Then I can make small adjustments as needed throughout the rest of the stretch.
Sour Diesel A had a couple more branches pulled out today. She's looking super good. Healthy, strong branches and beautiful green. Plenty of foliage, but not too much yet. She will certainly need a defoliation after the stretch. Just to open up some space. Outer leaves and the main stem leaves. That should be all I need to trim. Maybe a couple more here and there. She's 19" tall right now. Mostly because I keep pulling branches down. I'll leave her alone in a few days when I have all the branches spread out evenly.
Sour Diesel B also had a couple more branches pulled out. She's a bit of a rectangle to be honest. I'd rather her be square over rectangular. Better space management. Right now, she is overlapping Sour Diesel C. Not too much, but she is. She also is up against the wall. It should t be a huge deal for now. And it should even out and square up over the next couple of weeks. She's also 19" tall. Again, because I tied her down. So the top is actually 19" the rest were about an inch and a half taller. No longer.
Sour Diesel C is looking pretty good. She's still about 2" shorter than the others, but still looking good. The riser works wonders. She's still only 17", but again it's because of the tie downs. I'll leave her alone in a couple days. She's almost where I want her to be.
Sour Diesel D is looking great! Amazing structure and beautiful branching. Her buds are coming in quite nicely and I can tell they will be stacked on the main cola. I'm very excited to see how she turns out. Especially because I've never let a plant go naturally. Well, kinda with a Skywalker OG, but that was defoliated a bit more than I plan on doing with this lady. She's 21" tall and I can tell she will start to stretch a bit more in the next week or 2. I'm hoping for 3.5 ft.
Watering has officially changed. I've installed the bottom feed basins with the wick system. Filled them up with a gallon of the new nutrients. Speaking of which, I've made some changes to the nutrient regimen based on the feeding schedule.
I've increased the Bud Candy and Sensizym. I've also added Big Bud and a 2 ml dose of Cal/Mag. I'll only be adding Cal/Mag once a week. It's not going to be needed anymore than that.
As I said earlier, the lighting has changed. It's changed completely. The light distance is now 24" to the canopy. The light power was increased to 80%. And the DLI is a flat 40 mol/m²/d for A, B and C. But D, being taller, has a DLI of 45 mol/m²/d.
The environment is finally at a reasonable level for this stage. Maybe a bit warm, but the humidity is hanging out around 53% and that's fine for now. Soon enough it will get really hot out and the central air will be on more often and keep the room dry. Maybe it will go below 50%. The room stays at 70° with the A/C on, so I'm not worried about that. I can even drop it down to 68° to bring the tent down to 74°.

Not much going on today.
Sour Diesel A is looking really good. Her canopy is level for the most part. Lush green leaves. They're starting to get thin though. Not really sure why, but they are, but they are. Either way, they still have beautiful color.
Sour Diesel B is my golden girl for this run most definitely. She has wonderful side branching. She is definitely more developed than the rest with D coming in at a ose second. Her buds are really big compared to the rest. 2 to 3 times the size of the others. Her curved top is looking great as well. Stacking buds like mad. I think I'll do another small bit of training tomorrow. She's already taking up her whole quadrant and a bit of D's as well.
Sour Diesel C has finally caught up to the rest of the group. However, there are some noticable differences. Her leaves are a much lighter green than the rest. She doesn't look unhealthy or stressed, so I'm not sure what's going on with her. I'll have to research extensively.
Sour Diesel D is looking fantastic. She's still growing big fan leaves and stretching nicely. Not as fast as I expected, but still a nice pace. I assume she will pick up the pace in a day or 2 when the roots hit the bottom feed system. At least that's my experience.
All 4 ladies took perfectly to the bottom feed system. They all have a nice damp bottom and have a good weight to them. The soil moisture meter is reading 71% saturation, but it's just adjusting to the system. In a matter of a couple days, they will be down to about 45%. Right where I like it to be.
I had to move the light up about 3/4 inch today. Just to keep the DLI at the proper intensity. I'll keep it at 40 mol/m²/d for the rest of this week and will increase it to 45 mol/m²/d next week for the rest of the grow until the last week. I'll drop it down to 36 mol/m²/d.
It's humid today. Really humid. Like 79% humid. So naturally, the tent is a mess. The temp is fine at 76°, but the humidity is back over 60%. I don't know what to do about it. Too much moisture not only in the tent, but in my room as well. Uncomfortable to sleep in. Shame on that weather.
Anyway, I'll be fighting that for the day. It should be fine in a few days when the weather calms down. It should also stay that way through the rest of June into July.
A note about the bottom feed system:
The reservoir isn't supposed to dry out or it causes water flow issues. However, I have noticed that if the roots don't break through the fabric container the bottom of the container gets soaked. So if you are using them or something similar, you can let the reservoir dry out while the roots still work their way down. This should keep the bottom from saturating. Once the roots hit bottom, you can resume constant feeding.
There's more info about this bottom feed system. I'll go through it as we progress through the rest of the run.
Btw, it's the one from AC Infinity.

Looking good today. Everyone has had the same amount of water. It's interesting how accurate they are with water intake. Really cool.
Sour Diesel A has a wonderful square structure. Branches are almost all spread evenly. After the stretch I'll be removing some of the lowest bud sites and maybe the very lowest node. They just aren't up to the canopy yet and I don't expect them to keep up during the rest of the stretch. We will see after the stretch what we are looking at for options. I'm probably going to remove them regardless of size.
Sour Diesel B is still the best of the group. The buds are looking great! The bud sites are really starting to pop up. I expect significantly more as the stretch continues.
Sour Diesel C finally got her main cola tied down toward the center of the plant just like A and B. Her main cola was starting to take off and was taller than the rest of the plants and the canopy. So it got tied down. I knew she would catch up. Still a lighter green than the rest, but caught up and still very healthy.
Sour Diesel D is looking wonderful. She is stretching and stacking perfectly. Her side branches are stretching as well and are starting little stacks of their own. They will be big by the end. Her structure is the most uniform of the whole tent. Honestly it is to be expected. Training can be a messy business. At least until they stop stretching and final adjustments can be made. So with an all natural grow, she looks great!
The light is staying in place today. I'll check the DLI tomorrow and see what to do. I'll most likely raise the light back up to 24" instead of dropping the power. I considered dropping the power, but then there wouldn't be as deep of penetration.
The environment is back to being a mess. The temp is fine at 76°, but the humidity is ridiculous again at 65%. Really?! It's hot today, so the central air should kick on around noon. That always fixes the humidity. It's this stupid portable A/C. Too much condensation on the condenser and it's just leaking back into the room at a rapid pace. Hence the super high humidity.

A bit of a to do today. We have some defoliation, reservoir refills and light movement.
All 4 ladies got their main stem leaves cut off today. Now there's much more light penetration and space for these ladies to breathe. I was going to wait for week 3, but I think 11 days into flower should be fine. They will still stretch, but I think better as they have more space to grow and more light penetration. Airflow of course increased as well.
Sour Diesel A had 1 of the branches from the lowest node snipped off with the fan leaves. She looks great with her partial haircut. Just enough. I don't need to stress her out anymore than just those leaves. She may stress for a day or 2, but she will be perfectly fine. Strong plant. Very healthy.
Sour Diesel B had both branches on the bottom node removed. They were too small and underdeveloped. So they had to go. I also took the lowest auxiliary branches off of node 2. Just cleaning up the popcorn and larf. I might snip a few more in the coming weeks. We shall see. The defoliation should help with the lower growth anyway.
Sour Diesel C is now the tallest and I think I figured out why she had lighter green leaves. She was infact nitrogen deficient. Based on her sudden growth vigor and the fact that she was the dryest and lightest today tells me she is wanting to stretch even more. I wish I had some grow based nutrients, but I ran out. I might be able to get some in 4 days, but that for sure won't matter anymore or won't be worth the few days she will need it. Maybe. I have other nutrients that take priority. Bud Factor X and Rhino Skin. Honestly, I don't really think she will need it. Her branches are stiff as it is, but I think it also increases the width of the branches, so that would be helpful to support huge buds. But she is quite the hungry plant from what I'm starting to see. I might be able to bump her nutrients up to have dose from a third.
Sour Diesel D had node 1 removed during the defoliation. Speaking of defoliation, it did exactly as I hoped. It made more space for the lowers of this natural grow. I was going to leave her completely alone, but due to the limited space in the tent, I needed to open up the canopy. Now there is light penetration all the way down. Perfect.
All 4 ladies drained their reservoirs. Sour Diesel C and A were the dryest. With just barely any moisture in the reservoir where C was completely dry and lighter. 2 ml per gallon for all nutrients. I didn't add Cal/Mag this round. I'll wait til the beginning of next week to add another dose. It will most likely be 3 ml/gal along with the rest.
The light finally needed to be moved. I should have moved it yesterday I think. I needed to lift it 3" today. So the ladies were getting blasted with 50 mol/m²/d. It's now back down to 40 mol/m²/d. Next week we will be at 45 mol/m²/d which means I either need to increase the light power or lower the light back down. I also depends on the stretch. I may have to raise the light and increase the power. Raising the light gives me a wider lighting footprint so all parts of the plant get as much light as I can provide. Increasing the intensity brings the DLI up to the 45 mark. This all depends on how the street h goes over the next week or so.
The environment is still a hot mess. Today the temp is a bit high at 79°. I'm going to lower it down to 74° if I can. However, the humidity is still really high at 62%. When the air conditioner kicks on later, the humidity will drop back down to around 54%. The temp will also drop to a reasonable number around 74°. The DLI is no good either. It's sitting at 1.26 kPa and should be around 1.33 kPa.
Update: So I was looking at Sour Diesel C and noticed her buds aren't quite as developed as the rest of the plants. Maybe she wanted to veg for a bit longer than the rest. I may have screwed up and started Big Bud too early. I'll take it out next watering and resume after that. I'm not giving much. Just 2 ml/gal, it calls for 8 ml, but I have autoflowers and they definitely do not need that much. I might bump it up to 4 ml after next week. We will see how they like the current dose.
Second Update: Upon further inspection, I discovered the DLI was actually 45 mol/m²/d when it should be 40 mol/m²/d. No wonder they aren't over 2 ft tall yet. The light distance is still 24" for the footprint, but I turned down the power from 80% to 70%. Now it's between 38 mol/m²/d and 42 mol/m²/d. Ideal for this stage of growth. I should have kept a much closer eye on it though. I may have stunted them? Maybe not.
I also read that this strain likes to stretch multiple times. At least 2 different versions I've looked into say the same thing. That and they are finicky with the environment. I really hope I can get this humidity down ASAP.

Let me start by complaining about the RIDICULOUSLY high humidity today. The bedroom is at a whopping 70%! WTF! I give up. What the hell do you do with that? I even turned the heat on to absolutely no avail. Honestly, I'm worried that not only will the plants get moldy, but so will my clean ass room. I make a point to not leave anything organic in there. Nothing.
But still, the humidity is that high. The tent is about 68%. Seriously, what the hell man. If anyone has any suggestions besides adding a dehumidifier or an air conditioner or a heater, I'd be super grateful. I have all those. Hell, I have 2 dehumidifiers in the tent that are made for grow tents. Nothing can keep this humidity at bay.
Anyway, there isn't much else to say today. Nothing to really do.
Sour Diesel A looks quite nice. She's definitely stretching now and has caught up to D in height. However, a strange thing is happening. She's barely drinking any water. Unlike the rest of the group, her reservoir is still nearly full. The rest have another day left before they need a refill. However, she has her first signs or roots coming out. So if I'm correct, once the roots are really showing on the bottom, she should pick up the water intake. Unless she just isn't that thirsty of a plant. Who knows. Anyone have experience with this?
Sour Diesel B is now the shortest plant in the bunch. I think she has finished her stretch already. Her buds are getting big. Especially compared to the rest. Huge buds and about a quarter water left in the reservoir. I didn't check the roots on her today. I honestly was in the middle of something else while I was working the plants today, so I missed a couple things that I will check out tomorrow.
Anyway, she's super sturdy and I can only hope she starts to stretch again in the coming weeks. From what I've read, this strain stretches multiple times during early flower. We shall see. It's only been 13 days into flower so anything can happen. We shall see with this one.
Sour Diesel C is officially the tallest of the 4 plants. She also has the least developed buds. Definitely taking more time vegging. Or in pre-flower? Like she's stuck there. Lol. We'll see how she turns out. I may have another monster on my hands just like my Gorilla Cookies run.
Sour Diesel D is slowing down I think. She has been surpassed by A and C. If we recall, this plant was the smallest of the bunch in the first place. So maybe she will stretch a bit more and hopefully she does. She's not quite tall enough for my tastes. I prefer a nice 3 ft plant. It fits perfectly in the 3x3. Although, I wonder what kind of nightmare would it be to have 4 plants of that size. It would be a bit difficult to pull them out to work on them. Anyway, pipe dreams for this run. I don't expect much more growth. Maybe a few more inches.
The light will be checked later today. I may have to raise it again. If they really take off like I hope, I may have to remove the exhaust fan and run it outside the tent. No big deal, I have it all set up and ready to go if need be.
As I said earlier, the environment is an absolute mess today and I have not a clue what to do about it, if I can even do anything about it. But nothing is working and the house A/C probably won't kick on today at all. It's not hot enough. So I may be absolutely screwed today.
Update: I checked the DLI and it went up a little bit, so I raised the light a little bit. Just a half inch. But what a difference. Sour Diesel C was hitting 48 mol/m²/d. The half inch put it down to 43 mol/m²/d. The rest of the canopy is between 38 mol/m²/d and 40 mol/m²/d. A little low, but in 2 days I'll be changing it to 45 mol/m²/d. So no need to change it now. I could have left it alone, but the plants are still stretching and I think the light may have been too bright at one point and they stopped stretching because of that? I'm honestly not too sure why they aren't tall like they should be.

Not much going on today. All 4 ladies will need water tomorrow. C the most. She is really drinking a lot compared to the others but still has that light green going on. I really wish I had some grow nutrients.
Sour Diesel A is looking really good. Kind of lanky, but the branches are super stiff and look fine. It's still really early in flower and I expect these branches to harden up quite a bit more. Her stature is pretty nice with a flat canopy and great leaf to bud ratio. I might do another small defoliation tomorrow morning. I'm not sure though.
Sour Diesel B seems to have stopped stretching already and is just working on buds now. Let's hope I'm incorrect. I would love to see some more stacks. She will definitely need another defoliation with her leaves getting big again. Not too many, but enough to block a lot of the canopy.
Sour Diesel C is still light green and still needs nitrogen. She'll be needing water before everyone else. She's pretty wet on the bottom of the container, so I may let her dry out while the others catch up. I will most likely give her a small dose of recharge tomorrow with her feeding. Maybe that will get the nitrogen pumping again. It's not too bad. I'm not seeing any signs of yellowing. Just a lighter green. Between pre-flower green and veg green. Not vibrant though. It's hard to explain. I know there's an issue, I know what the issue is, but it looks so early and the other leaves are getting darker. It'll be fine.
Sour Diesel D is looking great and she will definitely need another defoliation. The tent is tight with 4 plants in there, and this lady just has too many leaves covering lots of bud sites. I'll probably cut jus the big ones that are facing in and the ones outside the plant. Just to make sure the outer buds have more space to grow.
I didn't changed the lighting today. No need. Everyone is happy right where it is. Though I think I'll be checking DLI later today or tomorrow.
The environment is a lost cause. I can't do anything about it no matter what I do. Hell, it didn't even drop much yesterday when the central air kicked on. It still stayed above 60%. It was that bad and continues to be that bad. The temp is good though. So that's something. Today we are hanging out at 66% humidity with a temp of 75°.

We are doing a bit of work today. The ladies need their final defoliation before week 3 starts. No more defoliation from here on out. Maybe a leaf or 2, but nothing like today.
Sour Diesel A looks really naked from the side, but the top is still filled in pretty well with foliage.
Sour Diesel B is growing really nice buds. Not much more upward growth, but the buds are starting out pretty fat. What a good sign. I left a bit more on than that of A.
Sour Diesel C had about the same amount removed as A. She looks super good and is stacking really well. I like the internodal spacing. Not too short and not too long. She also needed water. So instead of refilling the reservoir with just a half gallon of water, I top fed her with a quarter teaspoon of recharge to help reinvigorate her soil. We shall see what happens.
Sour Diesel D looks a bit naked to be honest. I'm pretty sure I took too much. Hopefully not. We shall see how she feels later today.
I'll be watering tomorrow as it's a new week. There will also be new nutrients.
I have to look at the lighting again today. Sour Diesel C is still stretching. D seems to be stretching as well, but it's hard to tell on the sea of plants.
The environment is still as always a mess. I really have no idea what to do about it. Yesterday it kind of cleared up. I got the humidity below 60%, but not by much.
Anyway, the humidity is back up over 60% and the temp is at 76°.

June 9, 2024 Day 50
This week we upgrade the nutrient schedule and adjust the DLI. The environment will continue to be a mess as I have no control over it. Shame that.
Sour Diesel A is light. She's taking in around the same amount of water as everyone else, but her container is light. She got a full gallon of the new nutrients. Hopefully she starts taking in some weight. If not, I may have to top feed her a half gallon dose of Recharge. She's around 23" tall now.
Sour Diesel B is officially the shortest plant of the group. Who knew. Lol. She got a riser to bring her up to the rest of the canopy. She's 21" tall.
Sour Diesel C is the tallest of the bunch. She is a total of 26.5" tall and I feel like she still has a way to go. I think we have our winner. Maybe. She has immature buds, so I can't tell how big they will get, but B has the fattest buds by far.
Sour Diesel D is looks great! She's around 24" tall now. Plenty of space for the buds to grow. And grow they will. The stacking is looking fantastic. She definitely won't be needing any top feeding for the rest of the run.
The light was raised back up to 24" and the power was increased from 70% to 80%. The DLI is now roughly around 45 mol/m²/d.
As for nutrients, I've increased all the doses up to 3 ml/gal. I've also added B-52, Tasty Terpenes, Silica Blast and Bud Factor X. This should definitely help with bud production and overall health of the plants.
The environment remains a horrible mess. I don't know what to do. Still don't know and it doesn't seem to be improving. The humidity is at 62% and the temp is at 77°.

I did some moving around today. It made more sense. Not much else for the day though.
Sour Diesel A looks great. She has stacks and stacks. I'm starting to think I should have used the base nutrients from Advanced Nutrients from the start of Veg. I feel like I would have gotten a lot more side branching. Alas. None of them did that. Strange. I wonder if it's just the strain?
Sour Diesel B is covered in buds. Huge, fat buds with long fat pistils. I can tell she will have some insane nugs. Can't wait. I may have to use another riser for her though, she is significantly shorter than C. In fact, I will have to use a riser for all 3 plants with the extra under B. I really want a nice level canopy, so plants don't have such different light intensity.
Sour Diesel C was moved to the back left across from where she was. It was time. She is the biggest and therefore must be put in the back for easy access to all the plants. She towers over the rest of the plants at 26.5". Not a big plant I know, but the bud to branch ratio is amazing. She looks like she's slowing down though. Maybe she will have another burst of growth this week. I don't expect it though. She is well into flowering now. Ok, maybe not well, she is about a week behind everyone else in development, but that also means she stayed in Veg longer and got bigger.
Sour Diesel D is still looking good as ever. She definitely stopped stretching. Shame that, I was hoping for a taller plant. But then again, she was originally the smallest, so I'm not surprised she's a small plant. Next run I'll ensure to use not only 5 gallon containers, but the whole nutrient schedule from Advanced Nutrients. I just don't have the grow from the base right now. I'll be getting that in a few weeks.
She was also moved and took the place of C in the front right quadrant. It made the most sense to put her there. I was considering putting B there and D in front of C, but with the current riser setup, B is a bit taller than D. Honestly, A is the second tallest and I considered putting her in front of C, but it just didn't make sense. She stayed in the back where she has been.
The lighting is a little strange to be honest, the DLI is definitely 45 mol/m²/d, but the plants are all reaching. Like there isn't enough light. Maybe there isn't. Maybe they like a whole lot of light. I'll test that today and see how they do. I'll just turn the power up to 100%. That should hopefully do the trick. It better. I'm still around 24" from the canopy. 21" from C. Also, moving them changed the position of the light for C and D. So it may help with leveling out the DLI. Also, raising the plants up to C's canopy will certainly help level the canopy light spread.
The environment is still a bloody mess. Still over 60% humidity. However, the temp dropped to 74°. Right where I want it for now. I think I'll let it go up to 76°. Just below the threshold for trichomes. This strain likes a really warm climate and dry. I don't have the dry, so I really can't put the temp up that much or else I risk mold. Granted, I have plenty of airflow, so I shouldn't have to worry about mold or mildew or any pathogens. Let's hope I'm right.
Anyway, we are looking at 4 well rounded plants. Not big, but I don't expect every plant I grow to end up being 5 ft tall in a 3x3 tent. These ladies are no different. I'm happy with a 26" plant. The rest aren't that far behind, so I can manage much easier. Happy days for me.
As for nutrients, it looks like they have all taken well to the added nutes and increased doses. It shouldn't give any issues at all. Especially because I'm only using a third of a dose. I'm using living soil, or super soil, or whatever it is. It's hot. Lol.
Update: Upon pondering and observing these ladies, I have noticed 3 distinct phenotypes. A and B are definitely a 50/50 mix hybrid. C is a straight up sativa dominant phenotype. And finally D who is completely indica dominant. It's quite interesting to see these differences and how they grew.
Where A and B grew similarly hybrid looking leaves and kept their structure the same ( mostly from my training), C and D are polar opposites.
C has the thinnest leaves and the longest branches. She definitely stretched like a sativa. D being the untrained one ended up with beautiful, fat green leaves. The internodal spacing is tight just like an indica. Her branches did not stretch much and the main cola is made up of quite a few of these short nodes bud sites. You can't call them branches as there is not branchy part. But there should be a branch. Oh well. Super fat cola coming my way.
One similarity with all of them is their bottom. They didn't grow any bud sites half way down the plant. All 4 are like that. It's quite interesting. I would chalk it up to my training, but D did the same thing. The lowest node has no bud sites except for the top third. Don't get me wrong. They lollipopped themselves with out me interfering much. Plenty of room to work and top water if need be. Kind of like A. She needs a top feeding I think. I'll add recharge to the nutrients in a half gallon. Just to make sure the soil is moist all the way through. It definitely doesn't feel like it. She's so light compared to the rest. Weird. I'll keep an eye on that and update as needed.

Not much going on today. It's picture day.
Sour Diesel A needed to be top watered. She was entirely too light. She is still drinking the same as C, but still super dry. So she got a half gallon of water with Recharge in it. Just recharge though. No sense in adding even more nutrients when I'm just trying to moisten the soil. That should be fine. She also got a riser to match up with the canopy.
Sour Diesel B looks great. She may need another riser. C hasn't stopped stretching apparently, so this little lady is being left behind. She actually hasn't had much to drink in the last day or 2. Her soil is still moist, but the reservoir is still very full.
Sour Diesel C is still stretching. She's now 28" tall and I don't think she's done yet. I'm going to have to think about maybe super cropping to keep the canopy level and not too close to the light. I'll also run out of risers as well. We will see what happens over the next couple of days. She's also showing signs of clawing. Nitrogen toxicity, but I haven't added any nitrogen. Are there other issues that can cause clawing? Too much light? Too humid? It can't be the temp as that's fine and it can't be the nutrients. That would make no sense. Especially because she is the biggest and clearly will become bigger.
Sour Diesel D needs a riser as well. With B still stretching, I'm going to need to either move the light up if I can or drop the power down. Dropping the power down will take away from some of the depth the light can go, but I won't get light burn or foxtails. I really don't want the light less than 20" from the canopy if I can help it.
As it stands with Sour Diesel C, I may have to remove the exhaust fan and run it from the outside of the tent. It's fine, but I'm not really a fan of not having a carbon filter. And I'm definitely not a fan of not having the sound insulation from the tent. It's nearly silent in the tent. But a little louder outside of it.
The light needs to be changed again. I need to lift the other plants first to get an accurate DLI. I'll do that later on today I think.
The environment is a shame to exist. It's ruining the whole grow. I think the humidity caused a bit of stunting. It's way too high and should have been below 50% 2 weeks ago. I don't know what to do. I'm definitely going to have flowering problems.

It's watering day. Not much else though.
Sour Diesel A needed a bit more top feed. So I filled the reservoir with .75 gallon and top fed the rest. She is thirsty. Not like reservoir thirsty. She seems to prefer the top feed. I think. Her buds are growing nicely. The pistils are now super fat. I can only imagine how dense these buds are going to be at the end. Another thing, she by far has the most trichomes. And I mean by far. She's covered in them. The next most covered is B. Sour Diesel C and D are about the same. Not much in trichomes. I expect that from C as she is a bit behind. Bud D should have plenty of trichomes as well. I'm very curious to see what happens in the end.
Sour Diesel B needed no extra water on the top. She got a full gallon reservoir refill. Her buds are pretty big now. I wonder if this will be the first plant to finish up.
Sour Diesel C looks absolutely wonderful. I think she stretched a bit more. Not much, maybe an inch or so. I didn't bother measuring her today though. I'll do that tomorrow. She also got a small amount of top feed today. About the same as A. Close to a quarter gallon.
Sour Diesel D is looking great as well. She also needed no top feeding. Her buds are getting bigger along with the pistils. I may also need to snip a few leaves off. They got big and are covering bud sites.
The lighting has to be messed with yesterday. The plants were praying really hard at 70% power. So I increased the power back to 80% and recorded a DLI of 50 mol/m²/d in the center of the tent. The outside is around 45 mol/m²/d. Before that, the center was 45 mol/m²/d. I guess it made that much of a difference. The plants aren't praying as much and have a slight lift to them. Perfect I think.
The environment is still a hot mess as usual. I cannot for the life of me get the damned humidity to drop. It just hovers at 60% regardless of the humidity. Well, no. If the humid climbs at all, the RH increases as well, but when the humidity drops, the tent RH stays at 60%. It's maddening. And I'm super confused as to why. I have a 3rd dehumidifier I forgot about. I might put that in as well. But I doubt it will do anything. The 2 more powerful ones do absolutely nothing.

Picture Day! I did a little bit today. Took some measurements, removed a few leaves here and there and rotated a couple of the plants.
No watering today. The reservoirs are still full. It actually shows that this strain doesn't seem to need much water.
Sour Diesel A looks great! She is 23" tall now and I think that's where she will be staying. Unless she isn't done stacking. We shall see. She doesn't seem to have lost any weight from the top watering I did the other day, so that's good. It means the bottom feed system is working correctly. I snipped a few leaves off her today. Just a few that were blocking other bud sites and overlapping other leaves. Plus it opened the canopy up a bit more for even better airflow. One great thing with this plant is her trichome production. It's insane. I can expect an extremely frosty plant at the end.
Sour Diesel B has massive buds for her age. She isn't quite as frosty as A is, but she is a close second. However, the bud size makes up for the lack of trichomes for the moment. I'm sure she will be packing them on in no time. She is 21" tall and will definitely be staying there. One really good thing about her height and stature is light penetration. With such a shallow canopy, she will get all the way to the bottom of the plant, possibly even deep enough to not have any popcorn. We shall see.
Sour Diesel C is looking great at her 30" height. I removed a few leaves off of her as well. She only needs a few. Just to open more light penetration and of course unblock previous bud sites. Her internodal spacing is perfectly on point. Especially because her buds should be a bit longer due to her sativa dominance.
Sour Diesel D looks normal. Nothing really special to say about her. I popped off a few leaves yesterday that were covering the main cola and some of the canopy. But today was just a picture. She's also 23" tall just like A. But she should definitely be taller because of the lack of training I did. Oh well. Little baby plant.
The lighting is staying the same. I have a feeling that my Photone app needs to be calibrated again. So I'm doing this by what the plants are showing me. All of them reached pretty hard at 70% power and 40 mol/m²/d. Then they were reaching at 45 mol/m²/d. They shouldn't be reaching at that level, so I'm only using the Photone app for reference for now. Currently the power is at 80% and all ladies are slightly praying. Just like they should be.
Oh, I turned a few plants.
Sour Diesel A got a quarter rotation. Just to give the most outside buds some light and get them away from the wall.
Sour Diesel B also got a quarter turn. Same reason and to also adjust for fitting in the tent.
Sour Diesel D was rotated a half turn to make more space and give the other side some time under the light.
The environment is still unfortunate. Temp is fine at 76° but the humidity is at 62% and won't come back down. I'll continue opening the tent periodically to remove the humidity for a bit. The room is down to 55% and it's really nice out with the humidity being around 45%. Everything should be fine. But it's not. Damnit. But I'll work with what I have.

Nothing going on today except for the Daily Picture. Other than that, a quick review of each plant.
Sour Diesel A looks fantastic. Tons of frost and good stacking. The buds aren't that big yet, but I expect them to swell up in the next 3 weeks. That's how long the Big Bud is supposed to be administered.
Sour Diesel B is catching up with A in regards to trichomes. Her buds are massive now for her age and size. She may be done a week or 2 earlier than the rest. I'll keep her in the regular schedule. Mostly because this should be a 6 week flowering period with a week of flush.
Sour Diesel C is also catching up to A in trichome production. It's to be expected as the plants get further into flowering. I hope to see frost like A on all the plants.
Sour Diesel D is the second frostiest her leaves are super sticky and oily. Sour terps all the way. I'm not getting any gas yet, but I'm assuming that will come with more trichomes and when they start to swell up and turn cloudy.
I ended up snipping a few leaves off her today my just ones that were really covering a lot. And there are a lot of leaves that are covering. I just can't snip them now. But she is seriously compact and I'm not sure how well the buds are going to grow. I've found that tight plants don't have the best bud production. It's like the leaves just block everything. And because this plant hasn't been trained, the main cola is mostly leaves. Buds are kind of hard to see. Not the best outcome, but this is the experiment. She is the control. Lol. Not much of an example, but there you have it.
The lighting stays the same. No changes at all. The plants are really liking where it is I think. Slight praying and a bit of a reach. The pistils are all standing straight up as well. I'm hoping this is a sign that they may need more light vs light stress. However, I'll need to measure the light distance at the beginning of next week. I'm topped out with the light now, so it will be a matter of either increasing the light power or dropping the light down a bit. But that's only if they are light hungry. I'll have to research.
The environment was pretty good for a lot of yesterday afternoon. It was down to 52% humidity with the temp at 76°. It was great! Not perfect but still much better than over 60%. It's another beautiful day today, so the humidity shouldn't be all that hard to control. So far today we are back over 60%, but I don't expect it to stay that high for long. It should go back down to 52% in the next few hours.

The last day of week 3 of flower. I did some last minute leaf removal this morning. Not much. Just some leaves that were being crushed by the wall and some overlapping inner leaves. Nothing crazy. A few from each plant.
No watering today. They still don't need it. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but they all have roots showing now and all but one have wet bottoms.
Sour Diesel A is the problem child when it comes to the bottom feed system. She's still lighter than the rest, but shows no signs of under watering or anything. The roots are growing right where the wicks are and that isn't normal. It should be the whole bottom of the container. Not really sure what to do. Maybe submerge the bottom again and see if it activates properly. Either way, the reservoir will be refilled tomorrow. Maybe I'll make a second batch for her and submerge her in that and let her soak it up. That's what I'll probably do. She's still frosty as ever which also tells me she's very happy. I feel like she could be doing better with bud production. They aren't as fat as I'd hoped. I know it's only the 3rd week of flower, but B has huge buds and has since she started flowering.
Sour Diesel B looks great with her big ole buds. She suddenly got really frosty overnight, finally. I can only imagine how she will look in a few weeks. It's a 45 day flowering time, so we are half way there. All of the buds on the whole plant look fantastic. Even the lowers look promising. They will most likely be tight popcorn. I can't complain about that. It will just get pressed anyway.
Sour Diesel C is the star of the show now. Just like B, she got really frosty overnight. Her buds are swelling pretty quickly now that we are in the second half of flower. I can only expect her to get much fatter buds in the weeks to come.
Sour Diesel D got frosty as well, not as much as the others, but still pretty frosty. Her buds are starting to swell as well. It looks like this lady will be right on time. All of the plants look like they will be right on time. Except for B. She looks like she will finish early. Or not and will just be a massive plant of colas.
I'll be adjusting the light if I need to tomorrow. I don't think I'll need to at all. The plants seem to be very happy with it.
The environment is starting to calm now that the weather has cleared up. The central air has been kicking on earlier in the day so the humidity in my room has been hovering around 53%. The tent however, is still high at 60% humidity. But the central air isn't on yet. So I just open the door every hour or so.

June 16, 2024 Day 57
This week nothing changes with the nutrient schedule. I cleaned out the reservoirs and gave fresh nutes. I also made sure to double check the height of all the plants and we have a final height for each of them.
Sour Diesel A is looking pretty good. Her final height is 23". Her bud production is looking pretty good as well. Trichomes are coming through quite nicely.
Sour Diesel B is looking really good with her frosty fat nugs. Her final height is 21". I haven't touched her so I don't know how sticky she is nothing. But I see good things coming to this lady. Huge buds and lots of frost.
Sour Diesel C is frosty, covered in nugs and has a final height of 30.5" tall. She looks fantastic and I wonder what her final yield will be. Her bud production is coming along nicely with buds starting to swell.
Sour Diesel D is shaping out to be my lowest yielder. She has very little bud on her and what she does have is a bit slow to develop. I have a feeling this will be my extraction plant. Edibles and concentrate.
The lighting is looking great at 45 mol/m²/d. Nothing to change. The plants are very happy.
The environment is almost back to normal. The humidity is below 60% for the most part. Yesterday it was all the way down to 52%. Today just under 60% for the morning anyway. The Central Air should be kicking on in an hour or two.

Nothing going on today. No watering, no training, no pics. Just a smooth day in the tent.
Sour Diesel A looks good. Lots more frost. Buds are swelling. Everything looks great.
Sour Diesel B had a couple leaves popped off, ones that were overlapping Sour Diesel C. Her buds are huge and I'm already starting to see orange pistils. She smells awesome too. Definitely Sour Diesel smell. Sour and gas. And a bit of sweetness as well. Very nice aroma.
Sour Diesel C is looking fantastic. Her buds are also swelling and her trichome production is amazing. So frosty and smelly. As long as the buds continue to swell at this rate, this lady will be a pretty good yielder.
Sour Diesel D is small as ever. Her buds are swelling quite nicely. They are bigger than A and C for now, but not as frosty. I'm honestly not sure if I did something wrong or if this is how she grew naturally. I didn't screw up the nutrients, nor did I add any stress except for the small defoliation. But that was right when she stopped stretching. I guess I'll find out at the end of the run. I also pulled a couple outer leaves off to keep them from overlapping other plants.
Lighting is of course the same as yesterday, and won't be changing until the last 2 weeks of flower. I might drop the intensity down a bit for the last leg of the run. I'm going to research this though. As these are autoflowers they're fine with constant light, but at the end are they looking for less light? I think so. Naturally in the world, the end of a growing season is when it starts to drop on temp and light. So it would make sense to drop the light intensity the last week to help induce maturity and more trichomes. That's what it's supposed to do. I'm not sure if that's the case with autos. Will research and report back.
The environment was great yesterday. Today it's a bit humid in my room but it's also kinda humid outside and 83°. It's supposed to climb up to 88° today, so I'm hoping the central AC will kick on early. The room temp is well controlled around 70°. Once the AC kicks on the humidity should drop down to around 52%. Not ideal, but actually within range. If I can somehow get it below 50% I'll be happy. 52% is merely satisfactory but not perfect.

It's Picture Day! Did some stuff today. No watering or anything like that.
Sour Diesel A is doing quite well. Her buds are swelling more and more. She's even frostier. I cannot wait to see how frosty she gets by the end. I also checked her roots. I figured out why the container is light. The roots are taking in all the water they can directly before it gets to the container. I'll have to top feed in a day or 2 if she gets lighter. However, she hasn't lost anymore weight in days, but I really need her to moisten the soil in the container.
Sour Diesel B is now producing orange pistils. And kinda rapidly. I knew she would be done first, maybe a couple weeks left for her. I think next week, if she is as far along as I think she will be, I'll switch out Big Bud for Overdrive for the rest of the grow. But we shall see.
Sour Diesel C is looking really good. Her buds are swelling more and she's even more frosty. As we all know, this one is about a week behind the others, so I expect more swelling and some fat buds.
Sour Diesel D needed some leaves trimmed today. They were super overcrowded in one particular spot. So I took 3 of those and then a couple outer leaves that grew out since my last defoliation. Her main cola is getting fat. Just not fat enough. I have a feeling I'm getting no more than 2 oz. I'm guessing just over an oz. We shall see. She's definitely not big enough and doesn't have enough bud to produce a good yield. Oh well. The rest are pretty promising, so I'm not too worried.
I added to the lighting today. I have supplemental lighting from AC Infinity. So I installed them today just below the top of the canopy. It should help with the lowers and get more fat buds throughout all 4 plants. I'll keep it at level 7 for today and see how things look tomorrow. The only concern I have is too much light from the main light due to the extra light from the supplemental bars. However, it should do quite well.
So we are in a humid heat wave for the rest of the week. The Central Air should be kicking on anytime and will definitely drop the humidity down to about 50%. The temp should stay around 75° to 76°. Currently the humidity is really high at 66%. I'll be keeping the tent door open every hour or so until the A/C turns on. The temp is kind of high as well at 79°. I think I need to try to get the bedroom temp down to 76°. Wish me luck. It's already 82° and climbing.
Afternoon update: Damn it's hot.

Not much going on today. I may need to water, but that's a maybe. Other than that, just the one pic.
Sour Diesel A looks great. Surprisingly, she is nearly empty where the other 3 have more water in them. Her bottom is also more moist than normal. She's in the way back and I didn't bother taking the plants out today. I'll take her out tomorrow and inspect her for any issues.
Although, I'm pretty sure I'll be refilling her reservoir this evening and might as well refill the rest.
Sour Diesel B is getting more orange pistils. I will have to research when I should be adding Overdrive now that I don't think she has more than 3 weeks left. 2 of flower and 1 of flush. Maybe just a week more in flower. I'm not sure. Researching. She's also getting the natural foxtails I read about. Apparently Sour Diesel, in general, foxtails. We shall see how it comes out. There should be no foxtails based on the environment unless the humidity can cause it. I'll have to research that as well.
Sour Diesel C actually took the least amount of water for this watering. She's still about half full where the rest are near empty to about a quarter full. I find it interesting that she isn't drinking like a fish. She's in the second half of flower and should be super thirsty. I'll check the moisture content of the soil tomorrow when I refill the reservoir.
Sour Diesel D is getting a nice fat main cola. She is the second most empty with less than a quarter gallon left. It's funny. I'm starting to think it's not the plants, but the dehumidifier on that side. I think it's evaporating the water faster than the plants can drink it. I might have to either move it or take it out all together. We shall see.
The lights seems to be doing quite well. I don't see any stress from the supplemental light bars. If I start seeing it, I'll drop the power down to 50%, but I doubt it. They are attached to the poles vertically. I would have much rather had them horizontal, but I took my support bars out. I can't reinstall them or I won't be able to take the plants out. So that's out the window. So vertical it is. I may however install the inside bars if I can and then mount the front one to the tent door with a magnet bar. I might try that tomorrow when the plants are out of the tent.
The environment is killing me. When the Central Air is off, the humidity spikes like 12%. Now the humidity is ridiculously high yet again at 67%. I really hate not having a wall or window AC. That would solve all of my problems. So I'm screwed until the AC kicks on.

It's picture day! We have some happy ladies and there isn't anything to really do today.
Sour Diesel A is getting fatter buds. They are kind of small, but it's still only week 4 of flower. She's still a little light. I might top feed a quarter gallon. Maybe with Recharge in it. I'll have to decide what to do. She's definitely not struggling, but she does have upward clawing edges. I'll have to research what that means.
She is still the frostiest of the bunch.
Sour Diesel B is getting even fatter. Frost is starting to come through pretty quickly now. I can't wait for this one to finish up.
Sour Diesel C took quite well to the small bit of top watering I did yesterday. Her buds are still small, but that is to be expected with this one. I can tell they will swell up pretty good and there will be a nice bunch of colas.
Sour Diesel D looks great. Her leaves are a lush green still, her buds are getting fat and stacking like mad. The buds are so close together, the plant looks like it has a tiny football on its top. I wonder what she will look like all trimmed up. Probably very small.
The lighting seems to be fine now. The praying has lessened, so I know the lighting was an issue. Now that it's fixed, it should be business as usual.
The environment is absolutely wrong now. The humidity is in the 70s today. And the temp is in the 80s. Just have to wait for the house AC to kick on.

Nothing going on today. No watering, no light changes and I didn't even pull them out. I can see everything that I need to see.
Sour Diesel A is getting orange pistils now and seems to be swelling more. Her buds are a little small, but I expect them to swell up over the next 2 to 3 weeks.
Sour Diesel B should be done in a couple weeks. She has orange pistils everywhere. I was thinking she would go the same time as everyone else, but it looks like she will be done a week before the rest.
Sour Diesel C is looking great as ever. She is a week behind and has all white pistils. Her buds are also a bit small, but I expect them to fill out over the next 4 weeks. Maybe 3.
Sour Diesel D needed a few leaves cut from the main cola. The foliage is just way too thick there. I'm afraid the buds won't swell because there's no space at all. Even cutting the leaves off did next to nothing.
The lighting didn't change at all. That's it. No changes.
The environment is doing the same thing as the last 3 days. High humidity in the morning and lower humidity in the afternoon. Today the temp is a bit wonky sitting kinda high at 78°. Too high for happy trichomes. I'm working on dropping the temp back down to 75°. 74° would be ideal, but this strain also likes it really warm.

Last day of week 4 and we got some pictures! And a video.
Sour Diesel A is doing quite well. She has some pretty nice stacks going on. But the most trichomes production. I also popped a few leaves off. They were getting crushed. Only a few though.
Sour Diesel B may be ready for Overdrive. I'll check tomorrow, but I don't think she'll be growing much more. Her pistils are about 50% orange, but still stark white on the bottoms. So I might wait a week before starting Overdrive. Big Bud is supposed to go to week 6, but this is a 45 day flowering cycle. A total of 6.5 weeks. Based on that info, I think next week will be a good start for Overdrive and then leave it for week 6 and then flush for week 7. And then harvest. I also took 2 leaves off. They were also being crushed.
Sour Diesel C is coming along nicely. She has super long stacks covered in frosty bud. Not a single orange pistil. I'd say she has another 3 weeks before flush. Yet another plant that I took some leaves from. Just a few though. Sticking out and overlapping other plants.
Sour Diesel D has this hot mess of a main cola. It's ridiculously large, but it's just a whole bunch of super tight nodes. I'm not sure what it's going to do, but trimming it will be a super pain in the bottom parts. No leaf removal today, but I did take 3 yesterday.
As for lighting, I think I should have left the support bars in the tent. I'm not really liking the vertical supplemental lighting. I'd much rather them be horizontal along each wall. I feel like that would be the best way for adding the lower light. I may add the bard tomorrow, but just the back and sides. I still need to be able to pull the plants out for watering and to check for any issues. Not that I think there will be any issues, but you never know.
The environment is the same as yesterday and the day before. High humidity in the morning and lower humidity in the afternoon. The temp is bouncing around a bit. Up to 80° this morning and now down to 78°. Too high. I need to try to drop the heat down more.

This week we focus on watering. There really isn't much else to do. The plants are all stacking buds and getting fat. I cleaned out all the reservoirs out and started a fresh dose of nutrients.
Sour Diesel A is definitely light. I really don't understand this plant. She's thirsty, drinking just as much as the rest of not a little bit more than B. I may have to top feed her tomorrow with a half gallon of recharge. Other than that, her buds are looking pretty good and super frosty.
Sour Diesel B looks like she has about 2 weeks left to go. Her pistils are almost all orange on the top while the lowers are still white. I checked the trichomes just for giggles and of course it's not done yet, but sooner than the rest of the plants.
Sour Diesel C had some what looks like light burn without any other signs. A friend of mine suggested it could be some sort of fungus. I sprayed her down with some Defender 4. Her buds are STACKED. She has super long colas compared to the overall size of her.
Sour Diesel D is drinking the most and was completely bone dry this morning. However, she's not light. So a cleaning and refill. We will just let her do her thing. Huge main cola. Everything else is smaller.
The lights aren't changing. So I have a feeling that these plants ended up small like they are due to the limited space they had during Veg. Being autoflowers, they really didn't have room to stretch out. My next run will be much better. I won't be working with 6 plants in one tent. All this has to do with the lighting also. They just didn't get enough of what they needed at first, so smaller plants I get.
The environment looks alright. The AC kicked on early today and the humidity in the tent dropped down to 54%. The temp is at 75°. Near perfect temp. The heat wave is gone now, so I should be able to control the humidity more with the AC kicking on earlier.

Not much going on today. I forgot to check Sour Diesel A for her weight. I'll check later today. However, she should be fine. No watering today nor pics.
Sour Diesel A looks really good. Tons of frost and her buds are swelling up nicely.
Sour Diesel B looks really good. I'm sending daily pics of the trichomes to a friend so we can figure out about when she will be ready for harvest. I'm thinking 2 weeks. He thinks more. But neither of us can tell. He's not here, so he can't see what I see, and I always get hung up around now.
Sour Diesel C seems to have some sort of issue. I'm not really sure what, but the leaves are slightly droopy and I keep getting these small burn dots on a leaf or two. As I said yesterday, it could be a fungus. I'll spray her down again with Defender 4 tomorrow.
Sour Diesel D has this super fat main cola. Instead of stretching up and stacking up, she has stayed short and I'm her buds are stacking outward. The main top has 3 buds that make up the tip. Very cool. She's gonna be a small yield, but one massive cola. Can't complain about that.
The lighting is, as always, the same. No changes whatsoever ever. The supplemental lighting is doing something? I don't really know. I really want to install them horizontally. I just feel it will have much better coverage vs the vertical position they are currently in. I might do that tomorrow when the plants are out of the tent.
The environment is still not good. 62% humidity and 78°. I need to get that temp down. And of course the humidity needs to calm down as well. It should be fine by this afternoon. Or like yesterday, late morning.

Picture Day! Not a lot to do today. Water is fine. Nothing really else.
Sour Diesel A is super frosty with nice bud production. She is pretty well stacked and has bud throughout the plant. Let's watch her swell up and start folding over on itself. Surprisingly, she retained some of the weight from that top feeding next week. I'll keep a close eye on the weight and moisture level.
Sour Diesel B is just as frosty as A, but has significantly larger buds. I'm hoping it's a sign for what's to come with the other plants.
Sour Diesel C is super stacked. She's starting to swell nicely and her frost is amazing. She is also super potent. It's wonderful.
Sour Diesel D needed a couple leaves cut off. Her main cola is absolutely massive. She smells great and she is swelling quite nicely.
Lighting is the same. I'm not seeing any issues whatsoever with the supplemental lights and the main light. No light burn. Lots of frost. It just shows we are on the right track.
Yesterday z the AC kicked on super early. The humidity was down to 52% for most of the day. I'm hoping it happens today as well. Currently the humidity is around 60%. The temp is a bit high at 77°, but the AC will knock that right down.

Not much going on today. No watering no pics, just the daily and a quick update for the plants.
Btw, the scent is getting overwhelming. What a nice smell.
Sour Diesel A looks great! She has bright orange pistils that have already curled up into the buds. Not on the bottoms though. But there is still a good 3 weeks left to go. Buds are still swelling pretty well.
Sour Diesel B is super frosty and super fat. She may be the smallest in the group, but her buds are huge. Her pistils are orange up top and still white on bottom. Even the orange ones are still sticking straight up. I think she has another 2.5 weeks left, but I'm not so sure anymore. She is showing signs of finishing up, but then she also has signs she isn't even ose to being done. We shall see.
Sour Diesel C is looking absolutely beautiful. Being the largest of the group, I have high expectations and I don't think I'll be disappointed. She has stacks galore. Tons of frost and swelling buds. From what I understand about the Sour Diesel strain is that it has elongated buds, so the cola may look skinny and tall. I guess we will find out soon enough.
Sour Diesel D is less disappointing now that I took a feel of the main cola. Solid. Super solid. And she's definitely nowhere near finished up. It's still kind of early for her so she has plenty of time to swell up like a foot ball.
Lighting is the same. Honestly, I don't know why I still report on it, but it is one of the most important things in the grow space. Anyway, it's the same. Still not seeing any signs of stress from any of the plants. I forgot to install the support bars yesterday, so I'll try to remember to install them tomorrow and move the supplemental lights horizontally.
The environment I can say is looking much better. The humidity is high in the morning, but then it drops down to around 52% for the rest of the day. The temp is back under control, so we are sitting happily at 75°.

Picture Day! A bit to do today. Watering Day as well.
Sour Diesel A got a half gallon top feed with Recharge today. I also topped off her reservoir which was only about 3/4 empty. The rest went into the top with the half gallon. She was really light and not drinking. She seems to have a lot of dry pockets and it took a bit to get them moist again. It worked. I had a bit of runoff from the dry pockets, but it's fine now.
Sour Diesel B looks great. Huge fat buds all over. She didn't need a top feeding as she is drinking just the right amount.
Sour Diesel C is looking great. Her buds are elongated like the classic Sour Diesel. And they are fattening up even more. I can't wait to see the end result.
Sour Diesel D has a massive cola that takes up about a quarter of her main stem. The side branches also have nice big nugs on them. Looking forward to the outcome.
The aroma coming from these ladies is strong and pungent. Sour and gassy loving this run so far.
The lights are all the same. I forgot again to install the support bars. I'll try to remember next time I pull the plants out again.
The environment is back to 60% this morning, but the temp is fine. A little high, but in range. It will all even out later today.

Nothing going on today. My phone screen died and I can't get the one picture off it from this morning. no watering today.
Sour Diesel A looks great, but her buds aren't as big as they should be by now. She's still super frosty and an all around happy plant.
Sour Diesel B looks wonderful with her fat buds all over. Her aroma is super strong. Her branches are really stiff as well. Of the 4, she seems to be the most promising for yield. but she is also the shortest of the 4. we shall see how things go with her.
Sour Diesel C also has small buds for her age. I'm really not sure what happened here, but this is the second time in a row. It happened with my Tropicana Cookies as well. but that was because of incorrect nutrients, I think. Maybe. Now that it happened again and I didn't mess up the nutrients, it has to be something else. The lighting shouldn't be a problem either. I have that dialed in. The only issue I have run into that's the same with both runs is the environment. The humidity has been really high throughout the flowering stage and could be the issue. However, lately it has been dropping down to a reasonable level, but that's not until the afternoon.
Sour Diesel D is just a stick with a huge cola on it. She only has 6 side branches, but they have big colas as well. however, one issue is how leafy she is. Her main cola has extremely deep leaves into the cola itself. trimming may be a bit of a pain, but that cola should be worth the effort.
Lighting hasn't changed and won't change until the last week of flower... if I change it at all.
The environment is its now normal high humidity in the mornings and lower humidity in the afternoon. I hope it's fine in the long run. only a few more weeks left and we are done. Let's hope we don't end poorly.

Picture Day! Last day of the week. I'd like to reflect on things we have noticed this week. Small buds, lights are on point, environment is wrong in the morning and much better in the afternoon.
Sour Diesel A has kept her weight for the most part from the top feeding. Her reservoir is also draining at a good pace. Her pistils are shriveling into the buds now, so it looks super pretty. Her frost made her look like she has light burn. It's not. Don't worry. Buds look super dense and are covering the branches all around. However, they are still smaller than they should be.
Sour Diesel B looks really nice. Her pistils are not shriveling up yet. I can't wait to see that happen. Then we will be on the right track for some dank bud.
Sour Diesel C is now the winner of most water intake for this round. She will definitely need another watering tomorrow and she hasn't lost any weight from the top feeding. Looking great. Small compact buds. The look really dense. I wish they were bigger, but on the plus side, they have a ton of frosty goodness on them. Buds from top to near bottom of the plant.
Sour Diesel D is doing her thing. Swelling more and more. Packing on weight and getting ready for the end of flower. She hasn't had much to drink and is getting light. I'll keep an eye on her tomorrow and maybe top feed some of her reservoir.
The lighting is still the same and won't change next week. I've also decided to just leave the light bars in their vertical position. Next run, I'll have the bars installed.
The environment is a mess today. It's 84% outside and 75°. It's nasty out. And of course it's reflecting in the tent. High humidity, temp is fine though. But really high humidity. Close to 70% for now. Not good at all.

This week is the end of mid flower. Next week we should be in the final stages of flower. Maturing as it's called. So we will focus on watering this week. Lighting doesn't need to be observed. So I'll be skipping that report unless something changes.
Sour Diesel A is drinking next to nothing. Her reservoir is more than half full where the rest of the plants are nearly dry. She still looks good and has great color. But I think she needs to drink more. It's like the soil isn't absorbing much water at all. Maybe it's supposed to be this light. It's a new soil brand, so I'm not really sure what's going on. I think I'll top water her again tomorrow when the reservoir is less than half full. I was considering it today as it's a new week, but I'll be doing everything tomorrow when the rest of the plants are dried out.
Sour Diesel B is looking really good. Her lowers look a little underdeveloped. No concern, it's to be expected. But I'd much rather see some development from the supplemental lighting. I'm not sure if it's working or not. I think I have them set up wrong. I need the bars. That's the only thing I can think of. I really don't want to install them so late into the grow, but maybe I will tomorrow. Or later today if I decide to clean out the reservoirs and start fresh. It's still really early.
Sour Diesel C is swelling up more noticably now. I think it's due to the top feed. I'm wondering if this soil has issues with bottom feeding. Because I can tell you my previous soil would leave the whole top of the reservoir wet. And the soil would stay at a near constant 45% moisture level. Roots would come out from all over, but this is different. I might have to research the differences.
Sour Diesel D has this massive baseball on top. Good side branch buds as well. She needs to be top fed as well. I think. She is a bit light, but doesn't seem to be having any issues. She's drinking just fine though. It's strange. Maybe she is more thirsty than the wicks can handle?
The environment is a mess again today. It's really humid out and again it's showing in the tent. 67% humidity. Of course I'll be spending the day opening the tent to let in fresh air. Although, the airflow in the tent should be more than enough to keep air fresh and clean. Just humid. Once the AC kicks on it should drop to around 55%. Let's see how long that takes. It's not hot today.

Watering Day! All ladies got a full gallon refill today. Not much else going on. No pictures today. I did rotate a couple plants to get light to the outer branches.
Sour Diesel A had about 2 liters left in the reservoir. So I put it in the sprayer and top watered it. There was absolutely no runoff, so I know she is a bit too dry. That should help. The branches are also starting to sway a bit when I move her around.
Sour Diesel B has these super dense colas. Great size and smells wonderful. I can't wait to see how she tastes. Very promising quality. And a decent yield for the size.
Sour Diesel C is looking really good. Now that all the buds are swelling, they are connecting and making the branches look fatter. She is also starting to sway a bit with movement.
Sour Diesel D looks great with her giant cola. Nothing really else to say. I took a leaf off that was just blocking everything.
The humidity today is still about 60%. I don't know how to make it go down. The AC hasn't kicked on, so I'm fighting it again. Shocker.

It's picture day! That's about it though. No watering. Everything looks great!
Sour Diesel A is starting to sway a bit. She is definitely packing on the weight in her buds. We are looking absolutely wonderful right now. Great leaf color. Beautiful buds. Nice bright orange pistils. Tons of trichomes. Nice and frosty. She is also holding on to that top feeding from yesterday. I may have to top feed her more often. I will most likely use some recharge when I have to top feed. Just to keep the microbes going.
Sour Diesel B has these huge fat buds and some super strong branches as well. There's no real sway unless I jostle the plant, but she is also covered in frosty trichomes. Another week or 2 on her I think. Maybe a bit longer.
Sour Diesel C is definitely starting to pack the weight on. Her tops are swaying without much touching. Solid buds and a lot of them. Definitely not a big as they should be. A friend of mine said it could be from a slight lack of water. It's definitely possible. My plants usually go through a gallon in less than 2 days by this time.
Sour Diesel D looks great with her baseball sized cola. The side branches look pretty good as well. Lots of trichomes. Super dense.
I've also had an idea. I haven't used base nutrients for this entire run as the soil is pre-amended and these are autos. However, I'm starting to think that was a bad idea. I don't think they got enough base nutrients to keep up with growth. It's probably why they didn't shoot up and most likely why 2 of them didn't grow super fat buds. Either way, I didn't have all three bottles anyway, so there wasn't much I could do. I should have used the micro and bloom and just worked with that. I don't have the grow bottle.
Anyway, they didn't show any signs of deficiency, so I didn't bother adding them, but I'm starting to think they could have handled a hell of a lot more nutrients than I gave. There's still 2 to 3 weeks left. Maybe I'll add the flower and micro the next watering until flush.
The environment is really weird. So it's a super nice day out. 72° and like 40% humidity. Just an overall nice day. On the other hand, my tent is stuck over 60% humidity yet again. So I have my heater turn on periodically to keep the temp up and try to pull some of the humidity out of the air. It's not really working. Even with the tent door open, the humidity is still high. I really don't get it.

Not much going on today. Our ladies still have enough water to last another day or 2. I've also decided to add a new gallon of water to each reservoir after the first plant runs out of water. The rest will be top fed into the corresponding plant.
Sour Diesel A is definitely the most frosty of the bunch. Her buds are swelling up nicely and are super dense. Another 2 to 3 weeks of this and we are gonna have some hefty buds.
Sour Diesel B already has some hefty buds. Not as much frost, but definitely a lot. Her lowers are also getting fairly hefty. Big for lowers that I have seen.
Sour Diesel C has super dense buds. Even though they are smaller, I expect them to continue swelling over the next 3 weeks.
Sour Diesel D is happily doing her thing. The single massive cola seems to be getting fatter as expected. There's still a good 2 to 3 weeks left on her, so I expect some super weight on the cola.
The environment is jacked up. I don't know how to fix this with what I have. Now it's 64% and I have no idea why. It'll drop shortly when the central air kicks on.

Happy 4th everyone who celebrates it.
It's picture day! Not a ton going on today, just some slight adjustments.
Sour Diesel A looks good. She's getting heavy and swaying on the wind. Tons of frost, lots and lots of orange pistils.
Sour Diesel B has massive frosty buds. They are super dense and look great! Honestly, there's a lot of leaves, but they are big. Even the sugar leaves are big. It should be pretty easy to trim.
Sour Diesel C had light burn on one of the leaves that was way too close to the supplemental lighting. I snipped it off and rotated the plant slightly to get the leaves directly off the light. Secondly, she was super light, so she got a half gallon of just recharge top feed. I didn't use any of the nutrients, just the recharge. Hopefully that triggers some water intake.
Sour Diesel D looks ridiculous with her one massive cola. Kinda looks like the main top of a huge plant that was cut off. Lol. She's drinking really well right now. The bottom of the container is evenly wet throughout. A great sign. She will be putting on more weight I think.
Super frosty too.
The central air kicked on really early today, so the environment should be good for the day.

Not a lot going on today. I checked the plants and watered D.
Sour Diesel A looks really nice. Super frosty and her pistils are bright orange and shriveling against the buds. It's really pretty.
Sour Diesel B is packing on more weight. I see the natural foxtails. I wouldn't call them foxtails. I'd call them buds that got too big for the cola. Hell yes.
Sour Diesel C is looking super good. Her buds are still swelling and frost is still coming in.
Sour Diesel D was bone dry today. Not the soil, but the reservoir. The soil was a little dry, but it will soak up the water and fix itself. If not, I'll be doing a half gallon top water tomorrow. I did the full nutrient regimen, but I used the rest of the half gallon for A yesterday. I topped it off and left the Recharge in.
The environment is messed up like it is every morning. But it's noon now and the humidity is still at 64%. When the central air kicks on, it will drop down to 50% by mid afternoon. The temp is still really good at 75°. Very happy with that.

It's picture day! It's also the last day of week 6 of flower. Day 77 from seed. I also did my weekly video.
Sour Diesel A is looking quite good. Her branches are pretty stiff and that frost is insane. It looks like white frosting all over. Some is so thick you can't see the green beneath.
Sour Diesel B looks great! Her leaves just started to canoe a bit. I'm not sure if she is reaching or coming to the end of her life, or has some sort of toxicity or deficiency. I don't think so though. Nothing has changed in weeks. However, tomorrow I'll be watering with Overdrive for the rest of the grow cycle. She's also foxtailing. Not entirely sure that's supposed to happen, but it is. Although, I read somewhere that the Sour Diesel strain tends to produce foxtails naturally.
Sour Diesel C is a bit droopy. I'm not sure why. She doesn't seem to need water, but I may top feed her tomorrow as well as refill the reservoir. Maybe I'll water to runoff. I'd say a gallon of water should do it. Or 3/4 gallon. Either way, I think she needs it. Actually, I'm thinking the rest of the plants need it too. Maybe I'll just water all of them to runoff.
Sour Diesel D is just doing her thing. Not much to report. A couple little foxtails here and there, but the buds are still super dense. Let's hope it's a natural occurrence and not some environmental issue, like the @#$&ing humidity being too high. I should definitely try to research this.
The environment is back to what it has been. High humidity in the morning and then it drops down to 54% by mid afternoon and by evening it's down to 49%. The temp is perfectly under control. At a steady 75° to 76° all day. Night time is a bit weird lately though. 72° at night. Mostly because the central air kicks off and my room warms up. I have my room AC but we all know by now that the thing blows out humidity like a rainforest. It just doesn't make sense.

July 7, 2024 Day 78
This week we switch to Overdrive and stop the Big Bud. It's the last 2 weeks of flower and then a week of flush. Then 2 weeks of drying and then about 3 to 4 weeks of curing. after that, I can smoke it. Lol.
All 4 ladies got a half gallon top feed with just recharge, and the reservoirs refilled with the new nutrients. I was going to water until runoff, but I think it's just a waste at this point. Plus bottom feeding doesn't require runoff. Depending on how they feel tomorrow, I might add the other half gallon to each and get that runoff. Or very close to it.
Sour Diesel A has started picking up the pace with drinking. She is drinking just as much as C and D. Super frosty and starting to really pack on the weight. A couple branches are starting to sway at the slightest touch. Hopefully the heavy buds won't pull the branch down.
Sour Diesel B is looking great! A little bit of foxtailing and larf on the bottoms, but the tops look great! Tons of bud and big buds to boot.
Sour Diesel C is also swaying a bit at the slightest touch. I expect that from her. Her branches are strong but thin and long. Her buds definitely didn't swell up like B and D, but they are solid and covered in trichomes.
Sour Diesel D was the dry one this week. I ended up dumping the whole reservoir from the other day so I could start the new regimen. She was dry and anaerobic for a bit. The half gallon of top feed really helped. It took some time to get it all wet, but in the end, the half gallon seems to be fine.
The environment is still high humidity in the morning and lower when the AC kicks on. Currently it's 81° outside and the temp in the tent is 75°. But with my personal AC on, it drives the humidity way up. Currently it's at 62% in the tent. It'll probably climb even more now that I watered everyone.

Not much going on today. All 4 ladies have their water and feel good.
Sour Diesel A looks great! As usual, frosty and smelly as ever.
Sour Diesel B has slightly canoeing leaves. They are also starting to brighten up. Must be getting close to the end.
Sour Diesel C has drooping leaves. Not sure why. I'll have to research.
Sour Diesel D is looking super good. Lush green leaves. Huge main cola and more frost.
The environment is the same as yesterday. High humidity, but somehow today it's below 60%. Hopefully it will go below 50% this afternoon.

It's picture day! Not much else going on though. Just a check up on the plants and that's it.
Sour Diesel A looks great! One issue I know I'm going to run into is sagging branches. One of her branches already needed to be pulled back up and tied to a bigger branch. The buds just weight a lot for the branch. Funny though, I've been using silica and that should have strengthened the branches. Not that they are super weak, but they are thin. I'll have to keep an eye on her.
Sour Diesel B is outstanding. Huge solid buds. Tons of frosty frost. I'll probably start checking trichomes next week. It's too early to see anything significant.
Sour Diesel C is a little lighter than the other 3. She also has some seriously droopy leaves and I have no idea why. I don't think it's a lighting issue. Underwatering could also be a thing, but she got top fed 2 days ago as well as the bottom feed system. It's moist, but definitely not as wet as I would have hoped on the bottom. I think I'm going to actually have to water to runoff with her. I don't really know what else to do.
Sour Diesel D is looking good as well. Super fat buds and super hard to boot. And it hasn't even been 3 days of the Overdrive. I can only imagine how hard the buds will be at the end.
The environment is starting to calm down a bit. Unfortunately I have to keep my crap ass AC on and it's bringing in humidity as always. So the humidity in the tent is around 59% to 60%.
The temp was high this morning at 80°. A bit warm for this stage. It should be around 74° to 75°. But it's back to the mark now.

Watered all 4 ladies today. Each got a half gallon full nutrients with Recharge. Only 1 needed to get a reservoir refill.
Sour Diesel A is looking super good. I had to tie another branch up today. The frost on her buds is super insane. I'm loving it. I'm sure there is better frosty plants, but this is awesome.
Sour Diesel B is looking super good. Her leaves are canoeing and starting to point up. A sure sign she's starting to finish up. She also has 1 purple sugar leaf. So it looks like the fade is also starting as well.
Sour Diesel C is looking kind of weird. Her top fan leaves are droopy and the bottoms are fine. But it's only the big top leaves. Strange indeed. If anyone is reading this, any insights? Comment below with what you think it may be.
Sour Diesel D is super frosty as well. Her buds are massive and heavy. It seems like her side branches are starting to get weighed down a little bit. She's not even close to fading, but her leaves are a beautiful lush green. She needed a full reservoir top off today. The rest are about half empty now.
It's super humid today. 79% outside. Her temp is still right where it needs to be, but the humidity is higher than it has been lately. Obviously due to the super humid day.

It's picture day! Not much going on today.
Sour Diesel A is looking really good with her super frosty buds. She seems to be holding the water from yesterday and also trimming from the reservoir. Looking good.
Sour Diesel B is amazing. Her buds are all dense and bright green like Sour Diesel is supposed to be. She's super frosty, but she is also canoeing. Not sure why. Maybe too much light? I doubt it though. The DLI is around 45 mol/m²/d.
Sour Diesel C needed more water. She was already half the weight she was yesterday after watering. She's also drinking the reservoir. So she got another half gallon top feed today. I even got some runoff. She should be good for the next couple of days. Her buds are super frosty, just like A. Honestly, I think they are the same phenotype. I thought A was more similar to B in the beginning of the grow, but the bud structure and leaves are all the same between A and C. Smaller tight buds. Tons and tons of frost.
Sour Diesel D is looking pretty good. I really wish she had taken off like she should have. I expected a much taller plant without training. It's fine though. The massive cola is making up for it. Maybe it will be a 2 oz cola. Lol.
The environment is still a mess. It's rainy and humid today, but not too warm. The humidity in the tent currently is 66%. Ridiculously high. The temp is around 79 for now. I need to turn my AC back on I think and just deal with the humidity. The temp can't stay over 78° if I want super frosty buds.

Not much going on today. Just the daily picture. Some observation and that's about it. No watering is needed and the reservoirs are all filled with water.
Sour Diesel A is looking great! Her buds are definitely getting super fat and swelling up. A couple tops are making little flowers all around. It makes them look even fatter.
Sour Diesel B is happily starting the fade. Just one leaf for now, but the rest aren't far behind. I'm guessing over the next week, we will get a beautiful fade. Hopefully the buds stay lime green. They are so pretty.
Sour Diesel C is looking good as well. The top leaves are still drooping, but not quite as bad as they were yesterday. I'm guessing it's a mix of underwatering and nutrient deficiency. Which nutrient, I don't know. But the top feed was the full nutrient regimen. So she should be good.
Sour Diesel D is looking super hefty. She has plenty of water and is super a healthy green. No fade though. It's only B that's fading.
A note about the lighting. I'm going to check the DLI. It should be at 45 mol/m²/d. That's the deepest red spectrum I can pull out of my light. I think I now understand the difference in wattage for wavelength. I'll learn more about this for future runs. I think I'm fine, but if I'm right, I may be able to increase the power back up to 80%, but we will see. I do t have room for the light to go up anymore, so I have to be really careful. Unless I decide to put the exhaust fan outside of the tent. Then I'll have about 6 inches of space. That may be the best plan of action if need be. The light is still 22" from the main canopy. Bringing it up to 28" will give me the ability to increase the power and get the lowers lit up as well. The supplemental lighting is or isn't working. I honestly cannot tell. I really wish I had added the bars in again weeks ago. It's too late now. I just don't have the want to do it.
The environment was way off this morning. The temp was at 78° and the humidity at 66%. So I turned my AC on and dropped the temp back down to 76° but the humidity stayed roughly the same. Now the central air kicked on so the humidity should drop fairly quickly for the rest of the day.

Picture Day! And this week's video.
Sour Diesel A looking really good. Super dense buds and tons of frost. Not much else to do. Her reservoir should be empty tomorrow. If not later tonight.
Sour Diesel B is definitely starting to fade. Her leaves are rapidly changing color all over. Not much, but you can absolutely tell she will have a really nice fade in the end.
Sour Diesel C emptied her reservoir pretty quickly and is still holding her weight. What that means is the plant is finally drinking. I added the rest of the half gallon from the other day. The half gallon should line up with the rest of the reservoirs.
Sour Diesel D has this stupidly massive cola for the size of the plant. Her color is still a super lush green. The frost is pretty good, but still not as good as A and C, but she has the largest cola of the bunch. Not as many colas as the rest, but still the biggest.
The environment is still just a mess. Mornings suck. Currently the humidity is at 62% with a near perfect 76°. The humidity will of course drop down in an hour or 2.

July 14, 2024 Day 85
This week is the last for nutrients. Next week I'll be switching to Flawless Finish and then plain water for about a week. Picture and watering day! I got some cola pics and the regular pics. Next week I'll start taking trichome pics.
Sour Diesel A is looking great! Her buds are super like green and totally frosted. She smells absolutely delicious. She's also getting ready to fade. Just a few more days and we should see the beginning of some beautiful colors.
Sour Diesel B has already started fading. I'm not sure that this is good or bad, but the leaves are canoeing and starting to point up a bit. However, they are all starting to show purples and some yellowing, but mostly purples. Right around the edges of the leaves.
Sour Diesel C got a half gallon top feed today and got her reservoir topped off. No runoff, so that tells me she's still thirsty. Looking great as well. Her buds are tight and covered in trichomes. Not the biggest buds, but I'm sure they will make up for it in potency and density.
Sour Diesel D is not getting ready to fade yet. She actually has the best leaf color of all the plants, but she's not advancing into the fade. I'm not too worried about it. She'll come around eventually.
The humidity was below 60% this morning. Unfortunately that didn't last. Now the humidity is at 63% with the temp being right at 76°. Once the AC kicks on, everything will be fine. Not to mention, I just watered, so the humidity is expected to be a little high for a while.

Not much going on today. Just the daily pic and some observation.
Sour Diesel A looks great! She's just starting to show signs of fading. But barely. Soon enough.
Sour Diesel B is starting to fade really well all over. The leaves are looking like I've seen on other plants, so that's got to be a good thing. Buds are super fat. Leaves are all starting to lighten up with a bit of yellow mixed with purple. I can't wait to see how she turns out in the next 2 weeks.
Sour Diesel C is looking pretty good. Nice buds, if a little small. The top leaves are still droopy, but it doesn't look like anything I know how to fix.
Sour Diesel D is still doing her thing. Her buds seem to be building still, so that's good. Another couple weeks and she should have some hefty colas.
The environment as, always now, has high humidity and a decent temp. It will drop down in around an hour or two.
Update: I think I may have to start flushing my plants very soon. Maybe the next watering. I have to check my trichomes first but I believe they should be ready for flush. It's week 7 of flower, so shouldn't I be flushing now? I'll update again when I check the trichomes. I think I may be right though.
Final Update: After checking the trichomes of each plant. I think it's safe to say the flush will start with the next watering. I'll be flushing 6 gallons per plant apparently. Then I'll fill the reservoirs up with plain PHed water.

Picture Day! Nothing else going on.
Sour Diesel A is starting to get too heavy for the branches. They are leaning more and more. I had to prop up another branch. With more to follow. She also has very small signs of fade.
Sour Diesel B has foxtails and I think they are natural. There's no stressors for foxtails to show up and the buds aren't losing any density. I'll keep an eye on it. It's very interesting.
Sour Diesel C is getting heavier and drinking more. She has a very small amount of color coming to her leaves. She's even more frosty as well. What's nice is the lowers are almost as big as the uppers. Not that the uppers are big, but they are dense. There's also a whole ton of bud all over the plant.
Sour Diesel D was neglected yesterday. I forgot to fill her reservoir. She was a bit light today, but I refilled the reservoir as soon as I noticed. She'll be fine. Also, no signs of fade yet. She does have really fat buds though. Each branch has a super dense and fat cola. But compared to the main cola, these side branch colas look tiny. I'm thinking maybe 2 oz out of this plant.
It's raining today and the humidity in the tent is pretty high. 63%. Also the temp is around 78°. A little high, but I can drop it down pretty quickly.

Not a lot going on today. Just the daily and inspection.
Sour Diesel A looks great. Her buds are getting fatter. I'd say another 2 weeks left for this one. She is just starting to show purple on the outside edges of a couple fan leaves.
Sour Diesel B has more and more color coming in. I checked out her trichomes today. Not much to look at so I didn't post a pic. I'll be posting trichome pics next week.
Her foxtails are becoming more pronounced, but super dense. These buds are going to look gnarly.
Sour Diesel C is looking great! She still has a good 2 to 3 weeks left I think. With the flush happening at the next watering, hopefully that will kick her into full speed and she finishes up with the rest of the tent.
Sour Diesel D is looking pretty awesome. She has some foxtails as well. Nothing like Sour Diesel B. But still getting there. It has to be natural. The temp is fine and the light is definitely not too bright or close. But her main cola is super dense. I'm almost certain she'll need a wet trim to avoid mold.
The environment is the same as ever. High humidity until the AC kicks on. So around 62% with the temp around 76°

It's picture day! Not much else going on today. Some pics. Some inspection. Checking reservoirs.
Sour Diesel A looks great! Her buds are heavy, her leaves are showing a bit more color and she is super sticky. She has quite a bit of water left in her reservoir. So I'll have to dump whatever's left tomorrow. That's when I start the flush.
Sour Diesel B is looking fantastic! Her colas are huge for her size and super hard. She's showing even more color and I think bulking up a bit more. Her reservoir is about half full still. So it will also be emptied tomorrow. What a waste of nutrients. Oh well. I don't want to prolong the feeding regimen any more than what is needed.
Sour Diesel C looks great as well. Her buds are hard and swelling up more. I expect to see even more swelling over the course of the next couple weeks.
Sour Diesel D still isn't showing any signs of color. She is super healthy and I think with the flush, she will start to show colors in no time. Her reservoir is nearly empty. So I'll clean the reservoir tomorrow. Although. I don't think I'm going to use the reservoirs for the rest of the run. The flush should do the trick for a few days. Maybe 4. That being said, I anticipate flushing 4 or so times over the rest of her life cycle.
The environment is still a mess in the morning. Although, it's not as bad today as it's been. It's under 60% which is about as much as I can ask for. The AC in the house will definitely drop it down low today. So I'm excited about that. Currently, my portable AC is running to keep the room from getting too warm, thus increasing the temp in the tent to an undesirably warmer state. Currently it's 74° in there. Pretty good. I'd love to see it there with 45% humidity. 40% if I can somehow squeeze it.

This will be a 2 part entry today. It's my first time flushing, so with this first part, I'm going to explain what I'm thinking for flushing. I haven't read this anywhere and it makes the most sense to me.
I read quite a few ways to flush. Use a hose until the runoff is clear, dump in 2 to 3 times the amount of water to gallon of soil. And a few others. However one thing I'm seeing here is cleanliness. Both methods seem really messy and should be done outside or in a sink. I don't have either of those options, so it's not something I can do. Then I read a way that makes way more sense. Water as usual but with a little extra, then wait 10 to 15 minutes and do it again.
So to make it best for me I've come up with this idea. I'm using a 5 gallon bucket, a 12" plant riser and my sprayer. The goal is to keep it as clean and efficient as possible. Maybe this is just common sense and everyone already does it this way, but the plan is to take the riser and put it on top of the bucket and the plant on the riser. Because I'm running a 3 gallon fabric container, I'll need 6 gallons of water. I don't really understand how that is good for the plant, but it's my first time. And of course I'm reading all this from professionals, but still I feel like I'm missing something.
Anyway, the goal is to water a gallon at a time, wait 10 minutes and another gallon. I think I'll start with 3 and see how things go. That should fill the bucket half way. Then in 3 days, I'll do the same thing. By the end of flushing number 2, the 6 gallons will have gone through and the soil should be clean. In theory that is. Then I can water as needed for the rest of the grow.
Also, I'm not sure, but this method may only be good for fabric containers. And there is definitely a size limit. 5 gallon containers at most. Anything larger than that would be too wide and will make a huge mess.
My only concern is time out of the tent. I only have 2 buckets, so I can only do 2 plants at a time. The time out of the tent away from the light will be nearly an hour. I think I'll have to pull the back 2 first and then the front 2. It's the fastest and most efficient way to do this. But still the plants will be out of the tent for quite a while.
2 concerns. Lack of light and the smell. For me it's an issue. For others it's not, but for those who have smell issues, I use a portable AC. It pulls the air out and blows it outside. So it helps with the smell in the room. The lights on the other hand are going to be an issue. I know it's not going to be hours, but still. I don't think it's a big deal with autos, but I'm not sure with photos. I'm probably overthinking this part, but I prefer to not risk anything.
Update 1: Both Sour Diesel A and C are done with their flush for the day. 3 gallons each. PHed to 6.2 moving on to B and D in about 15 minutes.
Update 2: now that I'm finished with the flush, I can explain what I did so far. This is round 1. In 3 days I'll do it again.
I used my bucket contraption and first did 2 gallons of water. One gallon at a time between 2 plants each. After the 2 gallons were in each plant, I waited about 15 minutes for the dripping to stop for the most part.
I then added the 3rd and final gallon for the day to each plant. I waited a good 20 minutes before putting them back in the tent. No mess in my room, no excess water in the tent.
I also cleaned out the reservoirs and left them empty for now. I'll add water 3 days after the next flush. They can drink that plain water for the rest of the grow.
The environment is a little off today, but not in a bad way. The humidity is just under 60% and the temp is around 75°. The temp is great. But the humidity is the problem as usual. The house AC hasn't kicked on yet, so I'm struggling with my portable AC. I have it set to dehumidify, but that's not happening. Never use a portable AC as a dehumidifier. Even if it has the option.

It's picture day! And the end of the week. A quick recap. We started out with nutrients and flushed yesterday. Next week will be flushing again then plain water. We also got some fade happening with Sour Diesel B.
Not much going on today. Just pics and the weekly video.
Sour Diesel A is starting to fade and quickly. Yesterday she looked all lush green with a few spots of purple here and there. Today a lot of leaves are showing purple edges. It's starting to fade. It should get really exciting for the rest of the run. She also has some pretty hard leaning branches. I may have to find a way to prop them up, but it just means heavy buds.
Sour Diesel B has more and more purple leaves. Her buds are huge and rock hard. She's sticky and smelly. I read that when flushing plants, the Aroma gets stronger. We will see if that's true or not. So far it's about the same, but it's only day 1 in the flushing period.
Sour Diesel C is getting lime green leaves. From what I understand, this strain should end up with lime green buds. I've also seen plants with light green leaves. I believe this one will start fading any day.
Sour Diesel D is getting heavy. Her branches are starting to pull down a bit. Other than that, her main cola is massive and rock hard. I'm super excited to see how much it weighs.
The environment is alright today. It's not a million degrees out and the humidity is relatively low. Not in the tent though. It's still 60% humidity with a nice temp of 76°

July 21, 2024 Day 92
This week may be a little weird with pictures. My phone's screen died, so pictures may be a little messy if any at all. I'll do my best to get as good as I can. Anyway, I managed to get these 4 before the screen went black again. I'll update as I can.
So the focus this week will be flushing and flushing only. I don't have enough flawless finish so I have to flush with plain water.
Sour Diesel A is looking pretty good. Her branches are getting heavier and heavier. Some are starting to lean a bit too much and will pull down other branches as anchors. A good and a bad thing. Not too bad though.
Sour Diesel B is just doing her thing now. Her buds are huge and solid. Her leaves are starting to show more color and some are yellowing out. She's getting there.
Sour Diesel C is looking great and is definitely thirsty. She's already getting light. It's a good thing I'm flushing tomorrow. After that, it will be just bottom feed of plain water for the rest of the week or 2.
Sour Diesel D is still bulking up. Her leaves still aren't showing color, but they are starting to show signs of hunger. Just barely around the edges.
The environment is actually not that bad today. The humidity is below 60% and the temp is just at 75 degrees.

Not much going on today. I managed to get a daily pic, but that's it. I will be flushing tomorrow I think. They are still a bit heavy.
Sour Diesel A is looking really good. She has super frosty buds and they are nice and heavy. The fade is starting to pick up the pace. It is to be expected now. Soon enough we will have some beautiful colors.
Sour Diesel B looks great! Her buds are nice and fat as well as getting even more frosty. I cant get trichome pics for now because my phone is broken. However, I can Still look through a loupe. Currently they are half clean and half cloudy. Definitely looking at another week. Which makes total sense for the time frame. Perfect.
Sour Diesel C is looking amazing with her bright green leaves and tight buds. She's starting to fade a bit more now. It's looking like we will see some yellows and maybe some pink. no purple though. I don't expect this strain to give purple anyway.
Sour Diesel D has this stupid looking fat cola that's more like the end of a club than a plant top. Its about as hard as one too. Too bad I don't have a baseball bat. I'd love to see if its actually fatter than the end.
The environment is about the same as it was yesterday. The humidity is just below 60% and the temp is around 76 degrees. ( cant find the degree symbol lol.) I cant really say much for the averages. i cant see the app on my phone. I will update everything when I get a new phone. For now it will be just an average from what I've seen throughout the day on the display at the tent.

Flushing day and picture day! I flushed each plant with 3 gallons of water PHed to 6.5.
Sour Diesel A has this kind of wind swept look about her now. I just noticed it today when I was flushing her out. The branches all seem to be bending toward one side. Like they are bending toward the center of the plant.
Sour Diesel B is looking marvelous. Her buds are fat and the foxtails seem to be stopping now. However I did notice the lower buds have much more pronounced foxtailing. I believe it's due to the smaller size of the lowers.
Sour Diesel C is fantastic. Her buds are solid and frosty. Definitely packing on more weight too.
Sour Diesel D is just ridiculous. Her main cola is like a football. Super solid cola. Can't wait for the harvest. Soon enough.
The environment is still like yesterday. Just under 60% and 76°.

Nothing going on today. Just the daily pic and a quick check of the plants.
Sour Diesel A looks great as always. Her leaves are still pretty green, but I can see more purple coming through. No other colors yet. The smell is great too.
Sour Diesel B is also looking great. Her buds are big and fat. Her frost is frosty sweet. I can't wait to see how she turns out.
Sour Diesel C is smelling sweet and gassy. Her buds are really frosty now. The buds are still putting on weight and are getting tighter.
Sour Diesel D is getting frosty now. She was frosty before but now it's getting more noticeable. I can't express enough how solid this massive cola is. Its SOLID.
The environment is the same as it has been for the last few days. Humidity below 60% and the tempmis around 76°. It will, of course, drop down to the low 50's% when the AC kicks on.

A first thing update: So it's before my actual diary writing time and I need to address this. A friend of mine saw heat stress in my plants and I was really confused as to how it could be. Well, it was getting hot in the tent before I woke up in the morning. So 2 to 3 hours of 80° everyday for the last week if not longer. I fixed the issue today with mu AC. I'll just keep it on 24/7.
It's picture day! No watering needed. I'll be doing one last flush I think. Theblast one didn't show clear water. So one more time should do it.
Sour Diesel A is showing signs of heat stress now. Although, as I said earlier today, I have fixed it. But the humidity is really high. The back branches are leaning hard with one falling over flat. It's a good and a bad thing. Lots of weight, but not as good of light.
Sour Diesel B is under a lot of stress. I didn't realize it was heat stress as I thought the temp in the tent was 76°. Her buds are still really nice, but I think the heat stress is causing lower foxtailing.
Sour Diesel C needs nothing. She is also showing signs of heat stress. Not as bad as Sour Diesel B, but still there. It should be fine now. I'm not sure what the humidity is going to do, but it's high. Buds are tight, frost is on point.
Sour Diesel D is showing the least amount of heat stress, but is also the only one not showing signs of fading yet. She is still beautiful and huge buds.
The environment is back to really high humidity and good temp. So I'm trading heat stress for humidity stress. Great.

Temp: 73.7°

Nothing going on today. Just the daily pic and observation.
Sour Diesel A is looking super good. I don't know if she is suffering from much heat stress, but she should be fine now. I took care of it. Her branchesbare leaning more and more. I can tell she will be a decent harvest.
Sour Diesel B is by far the worst with the heat stress. It must be the location of the plant and the airflow. Maybe there is an empty air pocket. Interesting. I'll have to look for it.
Sour Diesel C looks great! Just a little bit of heat stress and that's about it. Her buds are nice and tight. No leaning, butni have a feeling we will run into thar with her.
Sour Diesel D is showing a slight sign of heat stress, but nothing serious. It should be fine with the temp fix. One of her side branches is starting to lean a bit. Not a lot, but enough. Otherwise, she looks great! I really wonder what the main cola will weigh. 2 Oz? We will see.
The environment was giving me trouble for the last week and last night I left my AC on. It was chilly when I woke up, but the tent was at a comfortable 74°. The humidity is also a bit lower, down to 57%. Not too bad. I would like it to be at 50%, but this is what I got.

It's picture day! And video day! I was going to do another flush today, but tomorrow is the start of a new week, so I'll wait for then. I'll also start taking trichoke pics starting next week. I think I was supposed to start this week, but there's no point in looking at clear trichomes.
Sour Diesel A needed some support for the rear branches. They were leaning super hard. So I propped one up that's now holding the rest ofbthe branches up. Let's hope it holds. Everything else looks good.
Sour Diesel B is still showing signs of heat stress. I'm guessing it'll take a few days to recover. Not good for the last week of life though. We shall see how she turns out.
Sour Diesel C is looking great! Her branches are starting to pull out a bit from the weight. We shall see how she looks at the end of the week.
Sour Diesel D needed 1 branch propped up. It was one of the lowers, but it has a nice big bud on it. Other than that, she's looking pretty good.
The environment is better. I kept my AC on all night and shut it off this morning. I'll have to turn it back on in a little bit, but yah, it worked. The humidity was also below 60%.

July 28, 2024 Day 99
This week is the last week for these ladies. I flushed all 4 of them one last time. I think I'll wait for them to dry out and harvest. It's should take about 5 days not including today. So 6 total. I think. I want to try to keep them going for this whole week. Then I can harvest. I also took trichome pics of each plant. Looking good. Lots of cloudy. Some clear and some amber. I'd like a little bit more amber on the buds though. Just a little bit more.
Sour Diesel A is looking really good and her branches are just flopping right over. I had to readjust the anchor, and I assume I'll be doing it again.
Sour Diesel B is also looking super good. The foxtailing on the bottoms may pose an issue with quality and density, but it's just the bottoms. The tops are all rock hard.
Sour Diesel C is also leaning super hard. I just noticed it today. Her buds must be getting super heavy now. Still not as big as I'd hoped, but still dense and showing it.
Sour Diesel D still isnt fading yet. I wonder if she will be one of those plants that doesn't fade. I'll see how she looking in a couple days after this flush.
The environment is a bit wonky because I have plants out of the tent. So the temp is a little warm at 76° and the humidity around 59%.
Update: I decoded to turn the light down from 70% to 60%. The DLI should be around 36 mol/m²/d.
Grow System Environment:
Temp: 74.4°
RH: 56.6%
VPD: 1.23 kPa
July 29, 2024
Harvest Day! So a friend of mine checked out my trichomes and we both decided it was time to harvest. Check out the harvest tab. Lookin good.
July 29, 2024
So I was going to wait to harvest at the end of this week, but a friend of mine said I should harvest now. I agreed after looking closely at the trichomes.
Sour Diesel A weighed in at 20.5 Oz wet weight. No trimming.
Sour Diesel B weighed in at 19 Oz wet weight. No trimming.
Sour Diesel C weighed in at 23.5 oz wet weight. No trimming.
Sour Diesel D weighed in at 18 Oz wet weight. Partial wet trim. The cola is solid, so I couldn't access a lot of the stems from the fan leaves. It'll be a pain to trim I think.
The environment should be around 65° and the humidity just below 60%. I'll strive to keep it that way. I shouldn't have a problem with the humidity still being high in my room.
I'll be back in 10 to 14 days with a final yield and smoke review.
July 30, 2024
Quick update with estimates.
The environment in the tent is off by a lot today. I'll have to open the tent once or twice a day to let the super high humidity out. I hate my portable AC.
So based on the 81 Oz wet weight and my previous runs, the weight retention after trimming should be around 13%. That should be a total of around 10 oz. It may be a tiny bit more or less. With Sour Diesel D being partially wet trimmed and being so dense, it might increase the total dry weight a little bit. But it could be as low as 8 Oz. We shall see.
July 31, 2024
You know, it really sucks when the humidity still spikes and now the tent is too warm. However, as I'm writing this, the central air kicked on. This should fix it all, but I'm still running into super high humidity at night and in the morning while the AC is off. I really hope this doesn't mess up the final product.
August 2, 2024
Day 4 of drying. Everything looks good so far. The humidity is still way too high and I'm thinking I should've wet trimmed just because the humidity is so high. Too late now. Anyway, I'm monitoring closely. The exhaust fan is maxed out to help keep air flow constant. That way there's less chance of mold and mildew.
I also have both oscillating running below the plants with a small dehumidifier in the middle. It's not keeping the humidity down to a reasonable level, but it IS keeping it lower than it would be. With the fans running, it's evenly leveled out through the tent. The only issue is the temp. It's a bit on the warm side. I'd like it to be at 65°. Currently it's hovering between 69° and 70°.
August 4, 2024
Day 6 of drying and these ladies are taking their time. Unfortunately it's because of the super high humidity we ran into the day I harvested. So I'm fighting with 71% humidity in my bedroom. It's crazy.
The portable AC is doing absolutely nothing except keeping the temp below 70°. That's good, but it's not good enough. Oh well. I'll just keep opening the tent up with the bedroom light set to green to ensure they air out and let fresh humidity in. Lol. I'll keep checking in until they are done drying.
August 6, 2024
Quick update. These ladies have been drying for 8 days now and they aren't ready yet. I'd say another 5 to 7 days. With the humidity being so bouncy, I feel like something will get messed up. It probably won't. I have the exhaust fan up and the oscillating fans going. Should be safe from mold and whatnot. But still.
Currently, the temp is at 63° and the humidity at 60%. Hopefully it stays that way for the next few days. At least during the day. I have an idea for night time. It gets pretty humid at night. So I'll turn both dehumidifiers on when I go to bed and turn them off when the AC kicks on. That should technically keep the humidity down, but the temp may go up. However, I do run the portable AC at night to keep my room cool enough for the plants. That brings in a lot of humidity. Still no clue why, but it does.
Anyway, the whole idea should work. I just have to remember to shut the dehumidifiers off when the central AC kicks on.
August 8, 2024
We are at day 10 of drying. Still another few days left.
So a good thing to note is the size of the buds. They didn't shrink all that much. To be honest, they look like they've only lost about 25% of their size. Not a bad thing in the slightest. Hopefully with that being the case, the yield will be even bigger than I calculated.
I'd also like to make a correction with my original calculation. My average yield is 15% of wet weight. That being said, I should be looking at closer to 12 oz total.
81 oz. x .15= 12.15 oz. We shall see how close I am now.
August 10, 2024
It's now day 12. These ladies are nearly done. I'd say another 2 to 3 days. Not much else today. Just a quick one. I weighed Sour Diesel D. She weighs 4 oz now. A 78% drop in weight. That being said, I think I can safely say this one will yield around 2 oz. Maybe a hint less. Which completely messed up my calculations. Now I don't know. I think I'll go back down to 8 to 10 oz. And if I get 12 oz, what happy surprise.
I also made sure to check them for mold as I do every day. So far it looks great! No signs of anything unwanted. Just beautiful trichomes glistening in the light.
Update: Sour Diesel A was the first to finish up. She had a perfect snap. Dry trimmed yield is 67 grams. 2.4 oz. Around what I thought I was gonna see. I'd say the rest will be trimmed over the next 2 to 3 days.
August 12, 2024
What a couple weeks. We are talking like 14 days. At the end of it all, I ended up with 10.65 oz. Right around where I was thinking.
Sour Diesel A 67 grams
Sour Diesel B 78 grams
Sour Diesel C 79 grams
Sour Diesel D 77 grams.
For a grand total of 302 grams.
Weight retention 13.15%. almost exactly what I calculated.
What's funny is that they are all roughly the same weight except for A. The plants were all different and still yielded roughly the same. C was the largest, while D was technically the smallest.
All of the plants have solid buds. B has airy but hard buds. It's not perfect, but this plant had the most foxtails, so I'll have to remember there was some sort of issue. I'm thinking it was the heat stress. Must have been a pocket where the air didn't flow. I'll have to fix that next run.
The smoke is fantastic. Super fire. Great high and lasts quite a while. 30 days of curing and then storage. I'll be using Grove Bags.
August 15, 2024
Quick update and then some bad news.
I fit each plant in its own 1/4 pound grove bag. They are now curing in a box. The average temp is around 68°. Humidity is perfect at 62% I haven't sampled each plant yet. Only A and B. I'll be sampling C and D next week. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this run. The yield was a bit lower than I was hoping for in the beginning, but it's still not too bad. Especially because I had some issues along the way.
Now for the bad news.
I'm losing my home in a couple months and won't be able to grow anything for a while. I have no idea how long it's going to be before I get a new home, and it could take up to 2 years given my situation. But I will be back when I'm able. Thanks for all the support and compliments.
On a more positive note, I still have a good pound of weed to hopefully last me til I get a new home. I don't smoke a ton, so it'll last quite a while.
Later my growmies.
