Hey growmies, it's time for a brand new grow ☘️🚀 My previous grow failed because I damaged the seedling and it stopped growing. So now we have a new and really nice strain from Barney's Farm. I wanted to grow a strain from Barney's Farm for a while now. Their strains look so great on their website, but also here on GD, that I just had to give them a try. For this round I was looking for an autoflower strain with a relatively short blooming time and a fresh and sweet terpene profile. The Mimosa x Orange Punch was the perfect candidate, as I also want to grow a plant that develops purple and dark hues in bloom. The diary that made me really excited about Barney's Farm was @peakyplanters Biscotti Mintz grow, https://growdiaries.com/diaries/166388-grow-journal-by-peakyplanters . Check it out as the plant looks amazing! Germination of the Mimosa x Orange Punch Auto was a breeze. As always I put the seeds in a seedplug which I soaked in Biotabs Bactrex. And after 2 days all three seeds had germinated 🎉🎉 As this plant doesn't get too tall, I decided to grow three plants in my GTools growbox, which worked out pretty well in my Purple Haze grow last winter. I'll have to do a bit of defoiliation and LST, as I prefer to have multiple plants when growing autoflowers. I'm not topping them, which also slows down their growth, and instead plan on removing a few side branches so the plant can develop a nice main cola. So this is the plan, but you know what they say, life is what happens while you're making plans. So we'll see how the plants develop and what they need to grow to their full potential 👌💪

Week one and the Mimosa x Orange Punch ladies are off to a good start, "roots in the ground" so to say 😅. All three seeds germiinated fast and also shed their seedshells without any efffort. I think it's a good sign if the seeds can manage to germinate and escape from their shell without any help. I used the 11 Liter geotextile pots for this grow, so I can fit in three pots and a humidifier in the GTools. It's amazing how much you can do with such limited space ✌️ Stay tuned for more updates and pictures of the little seedlings later this week and thanks for following along ☘️🙏 After a few days in week 1 the seedlings look very happy in their new 11L pots. This is a moment that I need to be careful not to water them too much but also not to let the soil dry out. I added more coco to the soil compared to last time. This makes the plant grow faster, but it can dry out more easily. The seedlings started to stretch this morning. This is my queue to turn up the dimmer from 40% to 50%. The increased light eases the stretch and encourages the plant to focus on growing leafs and a stronger stem instead.

Hi Growmies! I'm happy to say that all three seedlings are growing very well. It could have something to do with the coco I mixed in the soil, making them grow faster compared to only soil. Calcium deficiency is always a risk when growing in Coco, so I added some CalMag to each feeding from now on. Also starting with Plagron Sugar Royal for the daily nitrogen boost ;) Since the leafs were growing so well I set the dimmer to 80% today. I raised the light a bit to make sure the plants have time to get used to the stronger light. At the end of the second week the plants have grown very well. Side branches are starting to develop and the plants look really healthy. Because of the higher temperatures this week it's pretty hot in the GTools. Thankfully I have an airco in the same room so I can keep the temperature below 27 degrees when it gets too hot. Since the little ladies are doing so well I set the Sanlight dimmer to 100%. I really enjoy this stage of growth as the plants grow exponentially. You can literally watch them grow larger in a matter of hours 🙌 That's all for this week, thanks for stopping by and keep growing ☘️✌️👊

Hey growmies, thanks for stopping by ✌️ The Mimosa Orange Punch ladies are growing well! Since they now receive the full 135W from the upgraded Sanlight the growth is faster than before. The increased light also raises the temperature and on hot afternoons I switch on the airco to make sure the temp inside the GTools doesn't exceed 27 degrees. For the nutrition I started with Plagron Alga Grow, but in a lower amount to prevent nutrient burn. The plants look nice and healthy so I'm taking it easy on the nutrients 😇. 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update Ok so the strangest thing is going on with the three Mimosa ladies. The two plants on the left show signs of excess nitrogen. The top leafs are curling into a claw which is a sign of too much nitrogen. The plant on the right seems totally unaffected, which is strange as they get exactly the same nutrition as the rest. I have flushed the two left plants and cut down on the Sugar Royal and Alga Grow for now. The plants show no signs of stunted growth, it's just the awkward shape of the top leafs. The leafs still feel strong so I'm ruling out overwatering for the moment. Let's see how they develop in the coming days ✌️👌 Thanks to @nonick and @frankiee for the help in the comments! To rule out the possibility of light stress I'm switching to a 18/6 licht schedule to see if this reliefs the stress. Since these are autoflowers they should not be affected by the change in the light schedule. Stay tuned for more updates 😊

Allright! After the suspected light stress last week, the plants are in their second day of 18/6 light schedule and it looks like they are recovering. The front-left plant's upper leafs seem to be straightening out and overall the plants look healthier than last week 👌. I plan to measure the light intensity, but as things look now, there were two plants that were more susceptible to stress from the LED lights. It's not what you want in a grow, but it has taught me a valuable lesson. Don't just blindly assume a plant can handle 100% of the grow light in the third week ✌️☘️ In the end I don't think it affected the grow that much. The plant on the left corner in the back is a bit taller compared to the rest, but all plants look healthy and ready to start blooming! I have applied some LST clips on the side branches of the tallest plant. This guides the branches sideways and creates a more open structure. You can check them out at https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/growing/533-bending-clips.html 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update The plants have grown very fast this week and now they're all in bloom ✌️ Because of the fast growth, I've removed some of the fanleafs in the canopy, and fan leafs and small branches in the lower parts of the plants. I use the leafs for tea with liquorice in the morning and at dinnertime I chop them up for a mixed salad. The taste is really good and raw Cannabis is super healty as well.

The Mimosa ladies are now starting to bloom 🎉 I hope they don't stretch too much though. The light is almost at the highest position because I want to prevent another light stress episode. Ofcourse there is always supercropping, but I want to prevent any stress at this point. I'm slowly switching to bloom nutrients but in small amounts. Stay tuned for more updates and pictures later this week ☘️😀 The two plants in the back are full in bloom, but the one in the front is kind of a late-bloomer. It may make a sprint to the finish, but otherwise I will harvest the two other plant and leave this one to bloom a bit longer. We still have 4 to 5 weeks ahead of us and so much can happen in a few weeks. I'm very happy about how the plants made their recovery after the light stress. They look great and seem in good condition.

Hey growmies, thanks for stopping by! The Mimosa Orange Punch ladies are really showing off their unique personalities this week! 😅 Here's a quick update on each of them: 1. Late Bloomer: She's just starting to grow her first buds. It's a bit behind the others, but I'm excited to see how she catches up. 2. Flower Power: This one is busy growing flowers. She's in full bloom and looking fantastic. 3. Trichome Queen: Mostly focused on producing trichomes, and she's doing an amazing job at it. I don't mind the variety, though—it's going to be interesting to see if they'll all be ready for harvest at the same time. Overall, I'm really happy with their health. It looks like the stretch phase is mostly over, which is a relief. Supercropping in a crowded growbox can get a bit messy in my experience. In terms of nutrients, I'm keeping it simple and giving them half the recommended amounts. It seems to be working out great for these plants. I'm trying not to mess with them too much at this stage. I did some light defoliation to give the lower buds more light, and that's about it. Stay tuned for more pictures and updates as the week progresses ✌️😀 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update The late bloomer is catching in on her sisters rapidly! She's about as tall as the left-back plant and the buds are also growing fast. Trichome Queen is producing lots of trichomes on the fanleafs and sugarleafs as well. The Flower Power has the largest buds for now and it looks strong and healthy. I did spot a few brown spots on the Late bloomer though. But since she was a bit behind on the others the nutrients may not have been right for her last week. I'm not worried though as she has proved to be a resilliant little lady 💪 Happy growing! 🌱💚

Now that the plants are in full bloom the scent is getting stronger by the day. I'm already picking up strong fruity aromas, filling the room each time I open the G-Tools. It's nice to see how the different pheno's develop. Trichome Queen is definitely a hash plant. The resin is growing everywhere, also on the bigger fanleafs. She will be an excellent candidate for a nice rosin extract. The other two just focus on growing buds and looking awesome at the moment. I'm easing up on the nutrient this week as I detected some brown spots on the top leafs. Might be nutrient related but it could also be due to the distance of the lamp. It's raised to the top of the growbox but still too close to the canopy in my opinion. Maybe I should have done some more LST, or maybe I need to get less greedy and not try to cram three plants in a small growbox 😅. Let's see what happens in the coming week. Stay tuned for more pics and updates as the week progresses!

Hey growmies, the Mimosa Orange Punch ladies are looking better by the day ✌️ The late bloomer is picking up speed and growing beautiful big buds. The other two plants already have massive colas and starting to color to nice purple pink shades.

The strain was very easy to grow. It grows fast and the buds were big and resinous. The smell is sweet and has a strong tangie aroma. Even though the grow box was crowded, there was no mold at all ️

Hey growmies, this was unexpected but the plants were ready for harvest after just 8 weeks. I bought a new tricome microscope and checked the trichomes on the three Mimosa ladies. To my surprise all three plants had milky trichomes and even amber ones already. There were still many white pistils on the buds but looks can be deceiving 😁 With milky and amber trichomes the plants have reached their full potential so it’s time to harvest them. The late bloomer and the fast grower had the most buds, but the hash plant had the most trichomes by far. It took me 3,5 hours to wet trim the buds and after trimming I had enough scissor hash to load my Pax vape and try it out. The taste was unmistakably orange/tangie and really sweet. The effect was a strong head high, almost trippy and slowly fading into a super relaxing body stone. This will be my new favorite strain for sure ✌️ Smoke report The Mimosa Orange Punch has a very nice taste. It's mostly tangie/orange with a citrus taste that lingers in your mouth minutes after taking a hit. The effect is also great. At first the effect seems a very mellow and pleasant head high, after 30 minutes it changes to a more relaxing/sedative state where I almost fell asleep on the couch. After this it changes back to the very uplifting and clear head high. I made some rosin from the keef in the trimbin and it had a stronger body effect compared to the flower. But also excellent taste! This is an excellent smoke for both day and nightime. I can recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty smoke while getting things done.
