TommyBVRSA75 Beginning of life and always the same charm in how something so fragile in 10 weeks will be ready to finish, with the flush and cut. This is the life of the botanical cannabis wonder!! The sisters in the grow closet this summer season are the two Fast (F1) strains from 00 Seeds. This one in particular is the Blue Dream Fast, which has some very unique parents - between DJ Short's Blueberry and the auto-inducer to give it the particular flowering speed of the fast strains. Since it's a summer grow, a lot of curiosity lies in the particular nature of this Blue Dream, which according to 00 Seeds will tend to take on the blue tones of Blueberry...still, based on my experience with this, it will be very difficult for these tones that the cyanins lend to the Blueberry families to express themselves, as they reflect in direct proportion to the temperature not being high. And with high temperatures, knowing that in summer and even indoors, even in the dark period, the grow area will never be below 26ºC, and if the cyanins do not reflect with temperatures much higher than 22/23ºC, it will be very difficult for this "Dream" to take on the blues present in its genetics during a summer grow. But as I always tell my friends, when the buds dry and cure, it matters little if they are blue, red, or orange in the grow...in the end, the dried buds may be a lighter or darker green or even leaning towards brown, but aesthetically, it's always nice for the buds, even while growing, to become colorful. And I'll give you an example: last season, the F1 from Sweet Seeds that I developed had an 80% chance of having red buds, and in the end, they were green with a lot of white resin. And does that leave me disappointed when I smoke it with how "high" it gets me? 420 Always, and may God Jah always keep us and lead our grows to a "good port." Tom

TommyBVRSA75 Let's see, as always, the analysis of what stands out in each of the grows and so: 1- It is confirmed that regardless of the bank developing F1 (fast) strains, the phenotype starts showing abnormal growth in terms of leaf size (primary or secondary stems) from the beginning, and it also stands out early in the grow the thickness of stems and the central trunk. Something is at play in the combination of genetics when combining photoperiod-dependent with autoflowering, and from the start, it's impressive how strong they are from seedling to the first days of vegetative growth, and the tremendously solid character of the F1s becomes noticeable. There are few doubts about this, as the F1 strains from Sweet Seeds, which is the bank that has been developing "fast" the longest, and considering the first fast strains I grew, which were from Sweet Seeds, now we are working with 00 Seeds, and the characteristic of a "thick" plant is already noticeable at 12 days into the grow. 2- The F1s are generally strains with impressive vigor and less expected; if you give them good substrate and if you feed and water them in proportions that are nothing out of the ordinary, in about a dozen days they already express their vegetative phase fully, and as you can see, from seedling, they are no longer that. It's a plant in full vegetative phase, and we must be careful not to extend the 18/6 cycle too much for the vegetative phase to establish fully. In no more than two weeks, we will need to switch to 12/12 and keep in mind what might happen if we exceed the vegetative potential, as simply switching the light cycle to 12/12 to induce flowering, in the early days of this, the vertical growth at the beginning of flowering will cause these "ladies" to not only grow vertically but also to have a super expansion of branches, and we will need to fit two of these F1s in the 0.64m² of my grow area. 3- There are no tricks about the potential of a plant structure like the F1s. Thick stems, leaves with wide internodal spaces are perfect for developing huge buds, and the challenge with the F1s is to develop all the potential of terpenes and resins to reach the apex of yield. What’s most surprising is that it’s possible for a grow to have a particular smell after just 12 days, and this could be related to the Blueberry genetics of the Blue Dream, but its grow companion, the Gorilla (GG#4) Fast, is also already emitting odor, and that, especially since we are in summer, could become a problem, especially since I don’t have air filters and live in an apartment block, and it wouldn’t be very desirable to gift "special" smells to neighbors (but I’ve always kept in mind that summer seasons have that handicap, and the heat encourages terpene development, along with the problems that can occur with "excessive" aromas). 4- I see clearly that they are developing perfectly even when the pH is still acidic to better guarantee the initial nitrogen base (nitrogen is optimized at a pH between 5.5 and 5.8 at most, and as we continue to develop and move towards flowering each week, we will raise the pH and nutrition to keep everything on point). Based on the colors and the leaves, the nutrition and light ratio are perfect, and we will continue to give them what they need so that in the end we have top-quality material. May God Jah protect us, and 420 always in our actions, brothers. Until next week...

TommyBVRSA75 Let's see... notable issues... even though there's a 4-day difference and a smoother germination, the Blue Dream Fast has shown character just like its sister Gorilla Fast (and also genetics from 00 Seeds). It's still very clear that the heat and conditions of the grow space make the Blueberry genetics more sensitive to high temperatures and lower humidity (the "blueberry" genetics really enjoy winter), and therefore it's more or less clear that at the tops and early flowering stages, the leaves appear somewhat curled. With the change to a 12/12 cycle, the pH adjustment at the start of flowering will be made to less acidic levels... meaning simply, the change from 5.60 to 5.80, which is more suitable for the integration of nitrogen and micronutrients, and with the pH moving to the range of 6.20 to 6.40 in a couple of weeks, it will focus much more on integrating magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. As I mentioned, both the Blue Steam and Gorilla have a 4-day difference, and given the size of the Blue Steam, it's just about time to change the light cycle and wait for the start of flowering. In the coming weeks, with the growth of mass in the branches and the early floral formations, I will regularly defoliate the base areas of the grow to create optimal conditions for light integration in the lower areas of the grow, as well as to allow the area between the atmosphere and the substrate to increase, providing all the conditions for full flowering growth. The grow is doing really well, even though in recent days the heat has somewhat affected the tops and early flowering stages. It's not dramatic, and in a few days, we'll have the grow recovered from any stress. Additionally, as the week progresses, the ScroG trellis has been set up, and with that, the basic idea is to open up space for light and oxygen to enter and allow the branches to grow in an optimized manner. May Jah always protect us from dangers and lead our grows to perfection, and may 420 always be the philosophy of all of us who love these botanical wonders so much. We'll be here next week...

TommyBVRSA75 Let's see if the two factors combine where growers control the FF strains to some extent; there’s a lot in the genetics of these "strains" that are like whims of creation. Let me explain: 1- If the FF are practically photodependent, there’s something very particular in their cycle that always happens when light cycle changes or others are promoted; there are pauses that later translate in very little time into "explosions" in phenotype characteristics. They are incredible for going from seedlings to full vegetative in hours; then when light cycles change from vegetative to flowering, they "suspend" for days and without much fanfare, they make vertical pulls and lateral branch expansion and hints of flowering, also with impressive speed. Therefore, these FF strains (F1 or "fast," as you prefer the terminology) are in their expression the most capricious, and for those who develop them, we end up recording changes that, despite being promoted by the grower according to what is desired, a lot of their expression is locked in a genetics that is among the most incredible. It’s as if the idea of having an "automatic" that can speed up or slow down phase transitions, even though the grower has that option at their disposal, ends up being the genetics at every moment that sets the rules of the "game," and if I already knew Sweet Seeds as the bank that started these genetics, despite having different phenotypes in the FF, these phenotypes express themselves according to the will of the contained genes. 2- Good growth and an excellent response from the Blue Dream strain, much because in summer conditions even indoors, the strain has reacted in the best way to high temperatures and low humidity, and of course, hats off to those who designed the genetics so that in summer, they can produce such traits. 3- Beginning of flowering with the inclusion of a Scrog net and also the knowledge to quickly perform defoliation because in that interim that goes through the "mortal" need to defoliate primary leaves of enormous size that cover the expansion of lateral branches, it must be kept in mind that while the vegetative state is strong, the function of the primary leaves is crucial for nitrogen integration and thus good root development. The excessive presence of "sheets" (commonly known as primary leaves that cover the hints of lateral branches) is a limiting factor, and if there’s no wisdom to defoliate, waiting a few days without defoliating at least the base of the grows will lead to the lateral branch expansion to atrophy that may not have a way back, affecting the final results regarding the quality and quantity of buds to be obtained. So, brothers, wisdom and knowledge for recording what each of the grows we start is, and leaving it to God Jah, sovereign path for protection of the grows and other factors that can carry all the effort we make. 420 always and a hug to all the brothers, Until next week,

TommyBVRSA75 Well, another week has passed where it's clear that the Blue Dream is sensitive to heat. I could have an idea of over-fertilization, but after changing the variable, the Blue Dream shows claw-like leaves, and it's simple if there are no parts of the grow where they curl into claws, leaves. I thought there might be some lack of balance in the nutrition, but that's not what's causing this strain to be an isolated case of over-fertilization. The alternation of cycles and feeding has already happened, and in all the grows where I just alternate the feeding schedule for correction, if I have three grows of "fast" this season, two show no signs of stress or over-fertilization, and the Blue Dream comes out with "claws" only at the top of the cola... for me, it's simple, the Blueberry genetics really struggle with heat and radiation levels, but as you can see, we're pushing through the difficulty, and it's very clear that the flowering "is there," beautiful and magnificent, and the way it produces pistils is from a grow with good balance and not from a grow in the other sense. May God Jah always be in command and give us His guidance and protection. May our grows continue by His grace, being that botanical wonder we never tire of. 430 Always

TommyBVRSA75 Without further ado... I've already told you about the nightmare that's unfolding with the summer grows of the "fast" from 00 Seeds. Not much more to say about plants without good genetics, lacking potential, and subjected to stress that somehow manage to turn out worse than I could think and expect. In the Blue Dream, as it shows a sativa phenotype and since there's space for light and air penetration, let's hope that the "brutal" diet of phosphorus and potassium that I will expose it to in the coming days might still allow it to gain some thickness, size, and density in its buds, which up to this point are a "joke." And leaving it in the hands of God Jah, let's hope that by the end, even in dreams, some terpenes, some resin, or some structure might emerge from what at the moment is a comedy. 420 forever and many thanks to the friends at TrolMaster for sending their Tent-X module. Thank you very much!

TommyBVRSA75 Well, after analyzing the last few weeks and what could be done to continue providing a strong PK and Leonardite boost to fatten the buds, my conclusion is that the temperature and humidity conditions in the peak of summer do not allow for counteracting the nutrient blockage that became clearly visible. I explain this, and I always do, so I can teach my fellow growers who follow me and have less experience about the variable conditions that exist in a grow and how they combine. 1- In this strain, the Blue Dream Fast is a strain with Blueberry genetics, and these genetics do not thrive in very hot summers, which is already a limiting factor in their genetics. So despite the vertical stretch it had, reaching over a meter, it’s clear that these are not the fattest buds I’ve had, and as I’ve said, giving it a strong PK boost with elevated temperatures has led to a nutrient blockage. Two weeks ago, I tried using Flash Clean to give it an intermediate flush - that is, using Flash Clean to reset the medium and then re-balance the nutrition. The method could bring balance for a week, but the heat was decisive for the PK blockage to occur again. When that happens, I couldn’t give it another intermediate flush, meaning I had to wait 15 days to clean the medium and reload it with PK, when it’s evident that what blocks the medium is not just nutrition but temperature conditions that block the normal intake of nutrients. 2- Even so, with the problems that occurred in these fast strains (which are not even average in genetics... to the friends at 00 Seeds, my opinion and verdict for your “fast” strains is very clear, and with this, I tell you that I will not do grows of yours again - particularly with the “fast” strains). 3- Weak genetics lead to weaker phenotypes and a lot of doubts about what will come out of your “fast” strains that I developed this season. For sure, very muted terpenes... meaning these are not strains that fill the environment with their terpenes; sugar leaves with almost no resin attached and very questionable buds in their texture and density. Specifically, the Blue Dream has thin, elongated buds, very much like a sativa (when your description clearly stated it was an indica hybrid). 4- Then, the floral structure in the Blue Dream is very “clear” of trichomes and supported by floral calyxes... and if something is interesting, it’s a strong resin smell, much more than some terpenes that would be expected in a Blueberry genetics. In reality, the strong resin smell in this strain is very particular, and in the end, we will see in the smoke if it was worth the time to develop this strain. 5- There’s still an expectation of one more week at the end of the cycle, but it’s already mature enough, and I will do the flush with Flash Clean (T.A) and in two days, I will do the cut and drying. If in winter, the temperatures and humidity are suitable due to low temperatures and incredibly high humidity, in summer, it’s the opposite, and in summer, it becomes good for a quick drying while preserving its terpenes (in these strains, since the terpenes are weak, the drying and curing might bring out the best in aromas)... we’ll have to see, but up to this moment, this “fast” season supported by the “fast” strains from 00 Seeds has been painful, and we’ll have to see if the “ugly duckling” turns into a “swan”... or if we start in the muck and won’t get out of the muck. For sure, I’ve done everything so that everything could turn out wonderfully, and if it hasn’t, it’s because it’s not possible to “stop a runaway train when it’s missing brakes.” To everyone, may God Jah accompany you, enlighten you, and protect you, and may your life always be made of harmony, compassion, and peace among equals. 420 Always...

TommyBVRSA75 The least bad of the F1 (fast) of the season and of the F1 from 00 Seeds, and when I thought it would be the weakest, it ended up being the one my friends liked the most. As a hybrid, its sativa expression is very good for a nice smile, as it gets my friends talking when they smoke it, and in the end, even one of my usual friends has really enjoyed this smoke a lot.
