Soaked them in a glass of water for 24 hours before putting them in round cotton pads lightly sprayed with water inside a baggie. Than I put them in a cardboard box in front of a heater and in 24 hours they were about a half inch long.
Day 7 after sprouting and one of them is growing a little crooked besides that they seems fine so far. Started giving sensi cal Xtra only 1 ml per gallon with a ph of 6.2 for now will lower the ph later. I already have grown dots mixed in the coco so I'll just be giving the sensi cal every watering and recharge every once in a while throughout the grow.
Had really good growth on the one plant but the other is about half the size and growing crooked. I took a side pic to show what's going on Im not sure what caused it I've done both exactly the same.
Things are going pretty good the smaller plant that was growing crooked fixed itself and is starting to grow a lot faster. They both just started sprouting hairs and the tent is starting to smell nice. Also I only mixed in 1 tablespoon of grow dots into each 3 gallon pot. My last grow with Tropicana cookies I did 2 tablespoons of grow dots in 3 gallon pots and had tiny yellow tips throughout the grow. 1 tablespoon seems to be doing the trick this time with the poundcake.
They both are well into the stretch one grew 12.5 inches and the other grew 11.5 inches in the last week. Haven't changed anything except rasing the pH since they are getting into flower.
Not much to say this week they only grew two inches last week so the stretch is over now. One of them is getting really frosty the other not so much but it is a little behind schedule since it sprouted crooked and took a little over a week to fix itself.
Well I lowered the pH this week to 5.8 and they couldn't be happier. Whenever I had the pH at 6-6.2 they would wilt for a couple hours after watering I figured I was watering too much but as soon as I lowered the pH it stopped and hasn't happened since.
Had okay growth thinking of adding overdrive this week. Been having trouble keeping the humidity down so I put a dehumidifier in the tent and it's sitting at 60%. Besides that everything is going pretty good so far.
Buds are fattening up nice now the overdrive I added a few days seems to be helping a lot. Haven't made any other changes besides the overdrive this week.
Well it's day 77 one looks ready and one looks like it could go a week or two but I dry in the same tent so if one goes down they both go down not sure what to do yet. But this will probably be the last post before harvest gonna give them a couple mare days I think. I got fast buds apple strudel seeds I'll be getting started as soon as this is done.
I had a lot of fun growing pound cake it grew super fast and I had no issues. I would definitely grow it again and recommend it. One plant has a sugary lemon smell and the other reminds me of like brown sugar oatmeal if that makes sense lol so two completely different flavors. I ended up with 166 grams dry weight between the two plants so I'm pretty happy.
Awesome fenos you have there.... It looks like the Fotos on the fastbud sites. Congrats mate, looking forward to you smoke report, I'll be running 2 of these on my next run and I hope I can get them as good as you did =)
