Day 1 11/27 she popped her head out of the root riot after 3 days. This is my second grow of Fastbuds Gorilla Glue and my last plant ended up being a whorled phyllotaxy mutation and this is from the same seed batch/lot. Growing in 2 gal fabric pots in coco coir. First week she will be grown under the florescent bulb and then switched over to veg setting on my viparspectra 450. The tent is small measuring 36x20x63" thus the scrog. I will be setting up a troph blumat for feeding on demand, which has worked extremely well for me in the past. Just need to watch the drip lines to ensure they don't clog. Day 3 keep the florescent t5 close to her is keeping her nice and short. Day 5 gave her a little feed last night. Coco was dry for a couple inches. Watered in a couple inch diameter around her. Today leaves are praising the light. Day 7 Fed, coco and fabric pots dry out quicker

Day 8 one of the leaves developed a small yellow spot at the tip. No signs of pests. Day 9 increased nutes fed to 30ish% runoff, swapped light from single t5 to led. Day 11 so I am an idiot and never worked with brick coco before. Last run in coco i bought Canna coco coir that was pre buffered. Well this time I don't have storage space for a giant bag of coco so I bought GH cocotek bale and hydrated and washed with PH ro water but did not buffer it with a dose of calmag. My plant has brown spots on leaves in several locations as evidenced in the photo labled day 11. I am charging another pot with buffered coco. Should I transplant her into the new buffered coco? Day 12 when I checked on her an hour after lights on, her new leaves are starting to twist along with increased brown spotting and new yellow discoloration appearing on the new leaves as well. Performed transplant into the calmag and nute buffered coco ph to 5.9. Fingers crossed she will pull thru. Never had such a hard time getting going before this. Grew 6 plants to harvest with little to no issue before this one. Guess I was lucky. Added roots Excelurator to help ease shock. 5 hrs since transplant and she's still praising the almighty viparspectra Day 14 she seems to have responded very well to the transplant. New growth has no evidence of damage on leaves. They look healthy 😁. I am thinking the unbuffered coco was causing some sort of lock out as her ph since birth has ranged from 5.9 to 6.2.

I neglected to buffer my coco with calmag when I hydrated the coco brick. It appears my plant is suffering Ca deficiency. I have a pot of coco buffering now, should i transplant her or is there a way to keep her in current pot? See photo labeled day 11. Thank you

Hi @Ga4rd2en0er! Looks like your medium has the wrong pH and your EC is a bit high for such a young auto. Go ahead and transplant her into fresh buffered medium if you know what you're doing, this must be done VERY carefully and must be the only transplantation of her life, so give it a good container (9 ~ 11L) and let's see how she reacts to her new medium. Happy growing 👊

Day 15 recovering nicely from transplant. All new growth still green with no spotting/burns. She is also getting a darker shade of green where before she was pretty pale. Hopeful that the transplant into the buffered coco worked. Day 17 new growth looks healthy. hand fed to 20% runoff Day 19 fed to runoff. New growth looks strong and healthy. Roots have begun poking thru fabric pot. Day 21 fed to runoff. Shes starting the growth spurt phase

Day 29 still no signs of flowers, her smell is intensifying. Increased nutes by 100 ppm. Fed to little run off. Screen is not locked in place yet. Day 30 fed to run off Day 31 fed to run off. Noticed first white pistils aka preflowers. Her smell is greatly intensifying. Day 32 added dehumidifier in preparation for flowering. It'll get way to cold to keep blasting the AC in this cold damp beach weather Day 33 forgot to water her last night and coco was pretty dry and she was a little droopy. Gave her .5 gal feed to slight run off Day 34 fed to slight run off Day 35 final day of the week and year. Backed off on nutes adjusting ppm from 860 to 800. Little bit of tip burn. I must be destined for slow autos as end of week 5, no bud sites, just preflowers. Starting to think after I run out of seeds, going back to photo plants. Maybe she'll ripen fast but i am expecting 6 to 8 week flowering window.

Day 36 fed to runoff. She's becoming one thirsty lady. I have decided not to run any "bloom boosters" "terpenes boosters" etc. I have researched nutes a ton and seems like a lot of anecdotal evidence even placebo effect on buds. Flipped flower switch on the viparspectra which effectively doubles the wattage to 206w at the wall according to my killawatt. I am tracking total electrical usage which is about 270 watts including 6" can max fax operating on lowest speed, 6" oscillating fan, and LED panel. It kicks up to 642 watts when the dehumidifier is running. Day 37 she is getting thirsty. When coco was pretty dry in the same timeframe in between feeds. She's now drinking 2L/day Day 38 coco was fairly dry again. I cant seem to keep up with her thirst now. i am going to set up my troph blumat with a 3 gal res to fput her on a feed on demand drip system. I grew trees in small containers with the blumats in the past. Stems are turning a little purplish, i have read other fast bud gg diaries and this strain seems to like lots of calmag. The stretch is here. Day 39 she grew another couple inches in past 24 hrs. If she wasn't bent over, she'd be about 2 ft tall. Gave her another 2l of water. Soaking my blumat troph "carrot" to install over the weekend. Added a 5lb damp rid tumb to try and bring down humidity. Its not very cost effective to run the dehumidifier for 1 plant. Will see what it does. Day 40 installed blumat to put her on a drip on demand feeding system with a 3gal res attached. I will still flush her on regular intervals to keep salt build up down. Flushed her today with 7x normal watering volume to thoroughly due to she is showing magnesium deficiency. Purple stems, some yellowing between the veins and spotting. Initial runoff was 6.1 ph 990ppm which should be fine but i still flushed her good with 5.7 ph nutes. Going to fill res at 5.9ph. Her coco had been getting pretty dry before I could get to water, which is less than 24hrs. Leaves feel dry as well and some taco folding in new growth. Day 42 leaves not so taco today and feel more supple. Increased drip timing on blumat, was partially dry and is now moist throughout the pot. Added 1 gal to res

Day 50 I'm getting ph fluctuations. I'm putting 5.9 in and runoff is 6.4. I've had a few bottom leaves rapidly yellow and easily pluck off. flushed coco and feeding temporarily at 5.6, will up the ph tomorrow to 5.9. Roots are white and thick. Entire sides of fabric pot is penetrated with roots. Day 52 plucked a dying leaf and I believe I may have a phosphorus deficiency. Making a coco slurry to test root zone pH. Day 54 recalibrated my oakton ph meter and it was .3 high. Eek. Reservoir ph corrected to 5.8 upped feed to 9ml. Tds meter took a shit on me. Had to order a replacement from Amazon. Waiting few more hours to test coco slurry.

Day 57 flushed media/root zone with ph ro water with clearex. Waited 2 hours and resumed feeding. I think some of the ph issues stunted her stretch. may need to cut out some twine to get buds more vertical exposure. Day 64 found an old led panel that pulls 120w from wall sterilized with 91% iso and hung for supplemental light to help penetrate a thicker part of canopy. Bringing total power draw to about 320w +/- 3w. Day 65 gave her weekly clearex flush. Added 2 gal to res. Day 66 her aroma has shot through the roof past couple of days. Open tent for 5 min and entire downstairs of my house smells Day 68 some of her pistils are starting to go orange, still mostly white. I cant find my loupe to check trichs. May have to go out and buy one. Smell is very strong. Added 2 gal to res Day 70 still having issues with ph swings. not sure if it was the shitty coco, 2 year old nutes (but stored indoors and in light proof storage containers) leaves are spotted all over mid to top range of plant. This has been my most difficult grow to date. Can't seem to get her dialed in. Runoff ppm shot to over 1500, backing off nutes. may have pushed her to hard. Flushed her until runoff down to 400 and ph 5.9

Day 71 its been a stuggle getting her dialed in as far as nutes, she has and is fattening up through it all. Every day a few more orange pistils and she's probably 60% white 40% orange. trichs are getting milky. Probably feed her another 7 to 10 days and then start the flush. So expected chop down date 14 to 20 days from now. Her aroma is absolutely intense, I did not lollipop her to further stress her with the whole nutes issue so I have plenty of bottom buds. I pinched off a few, she is definitely an interesting pheno, she smells of pine and sweet berry candies. Absolutely stunning and delicious aroma. Dried them out for a couple days and fired up a pea sized bud and for no cure and rapid dry, pretty darn smooth, ashed up nice and white, and even had a decent flavor, no hay or harshness. Potency was meh, but it was a pea size bud grown well below the canopy of the scrog. 2 gal to res Day 73 she is fattening up nicely and ripening along just fine. I will begin flush in 5 days Day 74 added 2 gal to res Day 75 she is still swelling up. Under the loupe, most a cloudy with a few amber and clear. 70/10/20% respectively. Flush will begin once she finishes her current res. 2 to 4 days from now. Day 77 she probably has about a day left in the res. She has predominantly cloudy trich, she is still gaining wait, but I don't want to have her go heavy amber on me. Will begin flush week 12

Day 78 I have placed her on flush. Replaced res with 2 gal ph tap water. Going to slowly flush her. Will add florakleen last 1 to 2 days to clean the system. I feel she is at peak cloudiness and will further amber if too much time is taken. Not banking on a ton of weight. Nute issues in flowering probably zapped it. Day 79 had my first minor blumat run away. Glad it was only plain water and about a gallon ran out and was caught in the turkey roasting pan. Added 2 gal ph water back into res and adjusted blumat. This is why I only use a small res w/blumats in case of this exact moment. Day 80 she's already starting to fade, maybe chopping down in 3 to 5 days. Day 81 the yellowing is intensifying throughout the whole plant. Axe man cometh within 2 days. Day 82 the time has come 🤤. She was actually much shorter than I had estimated. From base to top of main cola she is just 23" and from soil to canopy a short 15". Once I got her out and could really get up close, my god her scent has changed profile. Strong classic skunk mixed with fuel and a light sweet touch of tropical fruit.

Happy Harvest Day!

This was a challenging grow from the beginning. I highly advise against using General Hydroponics cocotek coco coir. They make great nutes but the ppm of this salty shredded mess from the factory was outrageous. Had ph fluctuations in the beginning until I transplanted her into s thoroughly rinsed and charged pot of coco. Veg cycle went great after that. I made mistake of pushing her to hard with nutes mid flower and ran into more ph issues and high ppm runoff. I kept dropping nute levels the last few weeks and she seemed to recover alright and finished out well. Aroma is intense and the entire house smelled after trimming 🤤. Produced some nice scissor hash and a ton of nice trim drying out waiting to be screened. I have a small oscillating fan on low blowing over the trim and I am hand turning it several times throughout the day for even drying and mold prevention, its sitting on a screen so it can get airflow from below as well. Smoke report and dry weights to come shortly 7 to 14 days. Target drying conditions are 69F 55% RH 48 hrs drying done so far. Popped off a small fluffy popcorn bud from the near bottom of the plant. Dried well enough to smoke and ash up nice and white. Sticky as hell, aroma was mild but expected being just 48hrs hung and no cure time. (I am a huge believer in curing, had multiple jars last well over 2 years of premium bud, slight milding of scent but still potent AF.) As of now full on fuelish skunk, almost like if youre within mere feet of fresh skunk spray. Nice mellow smoke with notes of cinnamon, coffee, fruit jam on the exhale. Nice balance of body/head high. Very calming but not couch locking. Elevated mood, definitely a good all day smoke for someone dealing with depression and/or anxiety. My opinion may change as I dive into the premo buds after a little cure. This will be a living blog post harvest with cure updates. 96 hours they feel almost there. Probably 24 to 36 hours until they're dry enough to start the jar process. They are definitely gaining their scent back, no hay/grassy smell any longer. Popped a little nug in the grinder and she is definitely developing the GG smell. Strong fuel skunk, tropical citrus fruits on the nose and strong pine on the exhale. 117 hours and I have cut off the buds and they will be put into their jars shortly. Dry weight came in a little less than what I was expecting but I did run into ph issues i flower which I think greatly affected fatness. The few decent nugs that formed are hard as rocks but majority are a little lose. Totally fine by me, it all smokes just the same and looks the same after it comes out of the grinder. I still have to screen the trim and will update the weight of that as well. I ended up with 117g on the scale but I have also smoked 15g of popcorn buds over the past 2 weeks. Overall still please with 4.65oz on a plant under 15" from soil to canopy and grown with a Viparspectra 450 (209w actual draw). If i hadn't run into nute/ph issues, I would have done a more advanced defoil job which would have greatly helped density and weight but she was already stressed out enough. I also f'd up on the scrog. I kept her way to flat and her stretch shut down quickly so I ended up with only a few inches above the screen instead of 7 to 12 inches for better bud development. These are all mistakes easily corrected with experience and knowledge and I would have never got this far with out our wonderful community here whether chipping in on comments and questions or simply sharing your photos and diary notes to share what works and what doesnt work. This is such an amazing community to be a part of and really exciting to be part of the ground floor of the US and even global green awakening. Cure 1 week - moisture in buds has redistributed nicely, buds are very firm, sticky when you squeeze or break apart. Jars have been opened twice a day for 1hr each first few days and now 1 per day for about an hour each. RH in jars has been 60-64%. Aromas are developing into a pine with sour lemon/pineapple. The smoke is a very clear and uplifting high. I actually have found it to be quite a social high and great for anxiety being at large social gatherings. Taste is improving as well, has classic strong pine notes on the exhale. Week 3 of cure update - smoke is very balanced, not harsh by any means. Predominant flavor is pine follow by tropical sweetness. She's not knock you out potent and it does seem to fade away after 2 hours, but that could be due to some of the ph issues and nute issues I was experiencing during flowering. Its still a very pleasant uplifting experience. Buds are holding steady at 62% rh. Should be good now for long term storage. Total weights: 132g dry buds 7.06g kief

She was very sensitive but forgiving and kept on truckin'. This is my last auto gg seed I had left and I still have several other strains to grow. I probably would by her again, but I want to go back to photo plants. looks happy, no stretch so the light is good, fat and chunky leaf structure nice and good a couple yellow spotted burns before - in coco I faced fungus gnats - neem took them down no worries as well as a bug catcher or sticky strip happy growing, nice gorilla

@babbabluespear,i believe it was improperly prepared media that triggered it. Ive dealt with the pesky gnats in past grows as well but zero signs of any pest infestation. I kept a close t5 light on her first week and then switched over to the LED and node spacing as you pointed out is nice and compact. Thanks for checking it out

@OutForRealbeanCarib thanks for the advice. I normally run my grows at 5.8 5.9 but I was waiting for my ph- to show up and the nutes with my water source come in naturally at 6.2. I'll have ph- tomorrow and will fed to 30% to 40% runoff to flush and lower ph. She's growing at a decent clip so I would like to avoid shocking her with a transplant but I also dont want to end up stunting her from a lockout from increased Na or K from the non buffered coco. I forgot to mention in the question section that her stems are purplish even with 5ml/g calmag+

@Ga4rd2en0er, Hey there , for cal mag something interesting is that the uptake from the roots is 20% efficient, and from the leaves it's 95% efficient, that means that for a quick cal mag fix you can use a spray bottle twice a day and spray the cal mag on... try to saturate the water by adding one or two ML more per L than the max for feed, and spray... yes , it's that simple ! hope this helps ! 🚀

@Tried_and_Tested, its a good little light. If I dont go outdoors this summer, I am planning on building my own COB setup and customize it to completely cover my grow space, but thar will run around $350. The $120 viparspectra was impressive. I got 3 oz from her before and I think my dry weight should be around 4oz this one.

@Tried_and_Tested, one little cheap viparspectra "450" from amazon powered most of the grow, I did supplement some side lighting and below canopy area with another small led panel the last couple weeks.

Hi i see no typical signs of calmag def. what i see is some lockout"scars" from having a wrong PH . The range should be between 5.5 and 6.5 . and its good if the PH flows, in dependence of your stage try to let the ph around 5.5 and 6 so the plant can absorb the nutes she needs in that stage like sulfur, boron manganese and zink

@Ga4rd2en0er,thats a great range....

@Mrs_Larimar, thanks for responding. ph has been 5.9 to 6.2 for the short time she's been alive. I did calibrate my ph meter with my solutions so hoping its accurate. I use an oakton ph1 ecometer.

Hey there I'm not sure where you're located but i was able to get the kelzyme at my local garden store (not superstore like home depot etc) but it may also be available @ a hydro store. But the epsom and dolomite lime is much more easily available...i think even Walmart might have dolomite. Good luck with all the options i hope your plants feel better soon. ✌️

Thanks everyone. Just got my ph- and lights will be on in a few hours. Will feed to 50%+ runoff to flush out the coco. I do have a solo foliar feeder on hand if it does become a lock out from the unbuffered coco. Seems like a lot of people complained on amazon about the GH cocotek 5kg bale being as salty as the Dead Sea. I guess i can hydrate some more of it, hit it with my tds meter and see what it comes in at. Right now my initial runoff ph is 6.1 and tds 800. My water source is 40 ppm. Store bought costco kirkland bottled RO water. I have a 5 stage portable RO filter but unfortunately the way our home is laid out, although legal in my state, i don't want to draw attention filling water bottles all the time. Unfortunately burglary is above average in my area. Beach community go figure.
the end.
