After a few months of absence, I am happy to see you all again and to be able to practice and share my favorite hobby with you. I made a choice of 6 beautiful varieties from the magnificent catalog of Royal Queen Seeds. My selection is based on species that are about the same in size and flowering time. I make a separate diary for each variety. 1. Royal Cookies: I had already bred twice before. It remains one of my top favorites. 2. Royal Gorilla: I have bred last time, and is also recommended. 3. Special Queen: once bred with fantastic results. Moreover, I have also seen this species in two other growers, both indoor and outdoor. An immense plant. Respect! Since my last grow, RQS has added a lot of new varieties, which is why these news: 4. Purple Queen: Purples used to be not so good. But the new generation of purples is fantastic. It is now winter where I live, so during the last 1-2 weeks of cold nights the beautiful purple hues will be able to fully develop again. 5. Green Gelato: Have heard a lot about Gelato, but have never been able to enjoy it. I'm going to change that! 6. Fat Banana: I can not imagine anything, but the name sounds wise. The expectations are therefore high. My selection is based on species that are about the same in size and flowering time.

DAY 16 First time Topping DAY 17 Repotting from 0.5 l. (BioBizz light-mix) to 3.5 l (Canna Terra grow +) The plants show a slight shortage of nutrients 😏, but by potting them to the new nutrient-rich cultivation soil, the shortage will soon be solved 👍 The slightly burnt leaves of plant nr 1 & 3 are most likely the result of the first - probably too rich 💪 - nutritional gift 😰

A week of hard work with defoliating, debranching and manual bending in order to obtain a nice flat canopy, from 5 to 6 main branches per plant. Now they are ready to go into the flowering process 😜 Slow growing..💤. I would have liked to have them grow a bit longer, but the other varieties that I had would become too big. That is why I kept only four main branches (plants #2 and #3) , compared to the other plants (where I kept up to 6 main branches). I put some support under the pots to obtain a flat canopy

DAY 12 ; Defoliatioin of the plants for the last time and stretching a net to support the colas. Due to its slow growing Indica genes, I was obliged to limit the number of colas; otherwise the colas were too close together. DAY 16 : Because of the net, I can no longer photograph the plants in front profile, and that is why I now take photos from the top. Still no liquid nutrients, only root stimulator. Vertafort and Biotabs do the job fine (for quantities see week 5). Plants are very healthy. No signs of shortages, no problems with too much nutrition. Green Gelato #1 = 60 cm ; 5 colas Green Gelato #2 = 47 cm ; 4 colas Green Gelato #3 = 39 cm ; 4 colas, Very promising lady. She has this beautiful dark, purplegreen color. 😱

It is the first time that I grow Green Gelato and of course I am very curious about the result. A few more weeks to satisfy my curiosity. The three plants that I have are all very small. They are very slow growers, with very short internodes. Perhaps they come out best if you let them grow like a Christmas tree style, without topping them up or wanting to scrub. That way you have to put a lot of small plants, close to each other, to get a nice canopy. I have my plants topped and have four beautiful colas per plant. Plant n ° 3 is the smallest but has beautiful dark green-purple leaves. The plants do not show any nutritional deficiency, but they have been in the same soil for several weeks. So I started to feed them with a fourth dose of Alga Bloom, half a dose of Green Sensation and half a dose of Sugar Royal. Green Gelato n°1 : 65 cm Green Gelato n°2 : 53 cm Green Gelato n°3 : 46 cm

The Green Gelatos remain small and cute, but the tops become big and brutal and keep me stunned every time. Especially the last days. Because the buds are close to each other, with quite a lot of leaves, I have to keep an eye on the plants. All three plants received the same soil and food, but plant n ° 1 has a lot of large leaves that turn yellow. Their veins remain green. I suspect a nutritional deficiency. I give her some extras and a high dose of her regular diet. No Grow anymore. Green Gelato n°1 : 65 cm Green Gelato n°2 : 53 cm Green Gelato n°3 : 46 cm

Whoow ... 😍😍😍 Super fat colas with an overwhelming smell. So creamy, so delicious. 😜 Plant 1 has 5 colas and is the largest of all 3 plants. She is the least green, I had to remove some yellowish fan leaves. 👌 Plant 2 is a lot smaller, has 4 colas with little space in between. That is why I have had to remove some large green leaves to allow sufficient light and air. 👌👌 Plant 3 can be compared to plant 2, but is even smaller and greener. It also has only 4 colas, and also with this plant it was necessary to remove some large green leaves in order to allow sufficient light and air. 👍👍👍 To get some colors on these babies, they are geting cold nights of 10 ° C.😖💤😱 DAY 44 : pictures 😎 DAY 39 & 43 & 47 : Defoliation of some fan leaves DAY 47 : start flushing , no liquid nuts anymore

720/5000 DAY 52 Small is beautiful, would be a nice slogan for this recent variety of Royal Queen Seeds. All plants are very small, but have very thick buds. Strange, because the package leaflet says 'The buds form tight, small to medium clusters instead of long colas.' They all have a fantastic smell and a creamy black hash aroma develops when touched. 😋😍😘👌 No more fertilization, so no unpleasant smell or taste is in the end product. Only pure water to rinse away all the remains as much as possible. 😭😰😨 At night they get cold nights (10 ° C), so they can develop more beautiful colors. 👌 If you want to know more about the height of the plants, check WEEK 12. 😑

Happy Harvest Day!

Small plants with short internodes, but with huge fat buds. And what a top yielder! During flowering, the plants produced a heavy black hashish scent with hints of fresh mint chocolate with every touch. These sensations decreased with drying. After curing, I didn't notice any hasj smell. Instead,,after drying a smell that is difficult to name. Subtle sweet, candied ginger, mint, blossoms .... Nice full taste.

how do you like the vertafort ? thinking of trying it out...
Oyziphar
Oyzipharcommented6 years ago
@CRiSPrGrow, I got that Vertafort from RQS. First I hesitated to use it because, unlike liquid food, you can not intervene so quickly. But plants look really heatlhy and well feed. No liquid food, and nog nutrients shortage. In week 5 you can see how much I used of t.

Nice dude. I have some problems with my gren gelato. Is she a heavy drinker? She's the only one not looking great right now. Curled up leaves and weak plant. It will probably thrive soon but it isn't feeling great right now.
Oyziphar
Oyzipharcommented6 years ago
@MrsPots, At the end she was a heavy drinker in comparison with the other strains. But she was the only strain that remainded so green until the end. I liked the smell when the plants were alive, after drying I no longer recognize that nice smell. A good yielder. Hopefully it works well with yours !
