Sapphire OG Clone

I am very excited to start my second diary. My first was very helpful and hopefully I can use this format to improve my next grow. I am growing a clone of the first plant I used in my first diary. This is also the second prototype test of the A.B.L.E. Grow Chamber. I am using a 5 Gal black bucket for hydro container with a 600W LED at 20" from Emi (that's her name). My two main goals for this grow is to get better roots and practice my LST and topping technique. Wish me luck.

(12-8)Roots are growing. Emily is increasing height everyday. My humidity is really low (low 30's) so I have ordered a small humidifier to put in the A.B.L.E. Grow Chamber. Music selection includes Nirvana, Lou Reed, Joy Division, Fugazi and Led Zepplin. will keep my pH between 5.8 and 6. will also post end of week photos. (12-9) Added small humidifier to the chamber. It raises the humidity by @ 15% which is OK but I need more humidity for my clone these first weeks. Have ordered a larger humidifier and hopefully that will get me in the high 60's. I'm around 45% at the moment with the small humidifier. (12-10) The large humidifier did the trick. Got humidity up to 70% and I also installed a drip ring around the top of the container so hopefully that will help the roots grow better.

Finally got some roots growing down from the container. Humidifier is keeping humidity in low 60's. Keeping pH between 5.9 and 6.1.

This was a very easy week. Finally got some root action going and Emi is growing at a steady pace. Started LST on her a few days ago. Thinking when in the very near future should I Top her, maybe a few more days. Added humidifier is working out well as is the Chamber. Keeping my pH between 5.9 and 6.1.

Roots continue to grow the older roots are stained from the color of the solution. I also topped her. no problems this week. This is my first time trying the TOP technique. I topped her two days ago and am seeing good growth. I think the 5 gal bucket is better than the crappy Rainforest 66 reservoir I used in the first grow. I have gotten good at controlling the A.B.L.E. Grow Chamber's Air and humidity using different settings for the ventilation or humidifier. I currently have humidity at @48%. and temps go from 21 to 24 C.

What is causing the gunk on my roots??? I change out 5 gal reservoir every 3 to 4 days. Had cut off brown roots but tips of new roots have gunk on them a day later. My pH is @5.8-6. Temp is @72. Have a 10 gal air stone in bucket and I have just installed a dripper system so they get solution from the top. Can strains of cannabis have different root styles like some make a lot of roots and some don't? Emily continues to do well with her growth and LST training. Her color looks good too. Maybe have two more weeks of veg stage.

I got new root growth after cutting off the brown ends last week. I reinstalled the drip ring and did not fill the bucket as much as I had been. (just 2.5 gal now). Emily continues to grow well and has great forest green color. She is also starting to give off a weak smell. The Grow Chamber is doing very well and I have become pretty good at controlling temp and humidity along with CO2 enrichment. I will start flowering stage after week 8 is over. 1-16 -- I installed a new drip system which uses a water pump to circulate the water solution. Do I still need the air stone in the reservoir? will research. Each branch is starting to taller and thicker.

1-22 Started flowering this week and have gotten excellent growth from both the leaves and the roots. My LST technique has given eVE 8 tops and I have defoliated the bottom growth. eVE's color is still forest green and she has a weak smell when you get close. / 1-25 I have been using CO2 on random days since week 3. I don't have a fancy injection system but i do have a nice setup. The CO2 regulator is plugged into a timer and I press it on/off to start/stop injection. On the inside of the Chamber I have a CO2 monitor which can be seen by the interior video camera. After injection starts, I watch the live video to see when the monitor hits "HI", then I turn the regulator off. Before Injection begins I also turn off the exhaust fan and humidifier. Then I just let her sit in the CO2 until it tapers off below 1200PPM which takes about an hour then I do it two more times during the evening.

Eventful yet easy week. After putting eVE into flower mode she began to grow again very fast. I have tried to keep humidity in the high 40's and have done random CO2 enrichment. The roots have been doing well so far after the pruning two weeks ago. Would like to see the branches get thicker. The first pistil showed up today and made me happy that it came up so fast.

Had very good growth this week in height and pistils. Roots are also doing well with more growth and nice color so I will keep my fingers crossed that they continue to do well. The MP3 player was not working again. I used a MicroSD card and put a Velvet Underground Album on it and stuck that into the newest speaker. This one is the smallest and easiet yet plus it has continuous play so the album plays all the time without stopping like the MP3 player did. Am getting a bigger SD card to put more Velvet Underground on. I also defoliated a small amount and don't expect to cut anymore. The Grow Chamber continues to perform nicely and I hope to start building the first real Model Type soon. I also had to make a new top drip system because the older one was not dripping water. I am also CO2 enriching the Chamber for a couple of hours every two days. Looking to see more pistil growth this week. I've also added my data charts for January. Everything was in range and moving forward.

eVE continues to grow well. There seems to be some salty residue on the top of the clay pellets. There seems to be some dust on the interior so I will clean the fans and wipe it down. Been playing Velvet Underground Live in Dallas 69 for eVE and i think she likes it. Her branches have a good amount of nodes with short spacing. It would be great if the buds grew into each other. Let's hope.

Slow week. Roots still doing good. Maybe need to get more nutrients.

very slow budding. don't know if I should add something else to the solution but I hoped for bigger buds at this point. What is there is dense , is sticky and has a nice smell. Roots showing new growth but nothing incredible. There is also a salty substance on the drip nozzles and on the top layer of the clay pellets. Don't no where it is coming from besides the solution but PPM and pH are in perfect ranges. Anyways She looks nice and green and is getting a good first layer of trichs. Still listening to Velvet UNderground. I also turned off the humidifier and brought humidity down from @50 to upper 30's.

(3-6-19)My buds are not growing well. I talked to Dave at the New Earth and he said my water was too hot. I was averaging between 76 and 79 degrees. The roots are light tan but no slime and there is a salty residue around the drippers. eVE has nice trichs though and she has a great smell and nice color. I also added a bloom booster so hopefully that will do some good. I will update this post more later. (3-9-19) turned the heater down in the batcave and the water temp has stayed below 72 degrees. No new pistil growth. Trichs are small but sticky with a sweet smell to the touch.

Coming into the final week. Like the last few weeks not much growth is going on. eVE smells great and is sticky to the touch. Her trichs are milky and most the pistils are orange. The bud nodes were great and the plant color is still beautiful. BUT she need got the weight on. It seems like after week 12 that she quit growing bud. My main culprit was water that was too warm at times and my roots looked tannish instead of white. Why can't I grow good roots? Will let her finish out the week and then harvest her.

Had root problems which seemed to stunt her growth. Which I did harvest was very smokeable but this is the second time I've grown her with about the same results. Will not be doing this strain again. weak roots.
