Pretty steady week. Seedlings for the Black Widow are doing better and have developed their first true set of leaves. lots of discoloration due to a faulty ph meter. should be cleared going forward. with the Blue Dream MC's we can see new vegetative growth. all is going well.

As you can see above I've got two Blue Dream Clones I'm Monster Cropping. My question is when should I top them? They are currently reveging( I'm not sure if this is a transitional phase, or the mark of true reveg). Should I wait for their first fan leaves to form? Or go for it?

Hey there Vega , you can treat them as "normal" plants, and top after the 4th or 5th node as you would any other small seedling. I would wait a bit for them to recover though, they dont yet look 100 but you can keep them in veg so, they should pull though ! hope this helps ! 🚀

has anyone successfully recovered a "drowning plant" in DWC? Solution temp went to high and lowered DO in the water. I've added another airstone and pump to push more o2 in. Any other pointers or similar experiences and solutions?

I had a similar thing happen before first thing is to get the temps back down in the system. Then I did the same as you added an extra air-stone. Plus try adding this thing called Hygrozyme it helps break down the dead matter and help the plant in return.and get those beneficials in there asap they might help as well. other than watching the temps and getting extra air the only other thing to maybe consider is pruning and dead root?s I didn't have to when it happen to me but it crossed my mind

I'm trying to find some information on whether or not we should keep the plant in 24-72 hours of darkness before harvest. Some people say yes, some say no, I was wondering what the community thought and practiced.

That debate is endless , some peoples are claiming that it changes everythings , some peoples are claiming it is useless. I did it a lot of time and found it useless , so did not notice an improvement of the terpenes profiles or in the trichomes production. The only thing I had from that method was some bud rot due to the high RH during the dark period. Try it to makes your own idea , it's like stem splitting , every growers have a different opinion. But keep in mind that even an sun eclipse doesn't last for 72h so no way you can find that configuration in the nature, I guess it is why we are growing in a controlled environment: to try this kind of experiment

in addition to the great advice from @hoffguy try throwing in some CO2 tablets in the mix, just be very careful with the pH... could help the recovery, but i'm not 100% about this.

@CRiSPrGrow, probably wint mess with the Co2, plant has returned to normal, leaves praying back where they should be. Only lost 1 of the colas and 2 auxiliary bud sites. I'll call it a win. Thank you everyone!

I have the same temp swing issue this time of the year in the desert. One day it's 80, next it's a high of 40. The cheap way (when I'm home) is open/close windows and grow room to keep temps stable. When I'm not home for extended time, or once the 90s are regular, I isolate my grow room and have dedicated heat pump to warm or cool the room as required. Just becomes too hard to keep the room stable otherwise.

@@lilbp420, That's smart. Currently have it in a "summer room", the HVAC is connected to the houses main unit. But basically with such a drastic change in temp the next day I didnt turn on the AC. But I'll definitely look into a heat pump.

To answer your question: That is an open ended question. The answer is that it depends. Usually people top between the 5th and 7th node, but it depends on how much space per plant you have and what height you have available.
