Week 11 from seed begins with smells becomming more pronounced. Rust spots noted on both plants. I was trying to slowly decrease the cal mag, but will increase, again gotta pay to CalMag coco tax. Growth has more or less stopped on both.
Last week saw more filling in between nodes on BD, some bulking up and a few pistils turning orange. Volumes on twice daily fertigations is ~2L. She has 5 colas that are mostly equal in height plus mutiple other bulky colas; what a beast!
SD had quite a few pistils turn orange ~40%, trichomes seemed cloudy with some clear on mutiple flower sites. SD has 1.75L twice daily fertigations with great run-off, perhaps can be decreased to 1.5L? I believe she has some time remaining, but with how quickly her pistils changed wanted to begin FlashClean followed by FinalPart to remove any salt build up. SD has 6 colas of similar height with several other good sized flower sites; she looks dank and greasy.
Plan for the week
1. Switch SD to FinalPart after FlashClean
2. Slightly increase CalMag
3. Defoliate/LST as needed to increase airflow and light penetration
4. Monitor trichomes on both
5. When to switch BD to Final Part? End of week?
26-10-2024 Day 71. BD PH 6.08, EC 1200, 2/2L with great run-off.
SD PH 6.06 *****FlashClean 2.5L/1.75L with great run-off.
27-10-2024 Day 72. BD *****FlashClean PH 5.96/5.95, 2L/2L with great run-off. With the grow question, decided to flush BD to reduce any nitrogen in the coco. Do I go back to same feeds for a week or so until she bulks up then switch to FinalPart or simply switch to FinalPart? If I switch back to flowering schedule with BD would I run into too much nitrogen again?
SD PH 6.02/6.02, EC 1170/1220, 1.75L with great run-off. Removed a few fan leaves and supported a few of the side branches so they do not lean into the tent.
28-10-2024 Day 73. PH 6.07/5.96, EC 1240/1180 , 2.25/1.75L with great run-off. Using FinalPart on both plants without additional CalMag. Trichomes on BD seem cloudy with some clear, flowers need to bulk up.
29-10-2024 Day 74. PH 6.02/6.05 , EC 1180/1180 , 2.25L/1.75L with great run-off. Smells continue to improve, fading of leaves beginning. SD flower sites are dense, pistils quickly turning orange (60-80%) will continue to check trichomes daily on SD and every other day will check BD. More BD pistils are beginning to turn orange, flowers are frosty.
30-10-2024 Day 75. PH 6.04/ , EC 1220/ , 2.5/1.75L with great run-off. Removed a few leaves off both. Smells are impressive! SD pistils continue to turn orange ~80%; BD pistils are turning orange.
Beautiful looking plants!πππ½ They looks super healthy and the growth rate is perfect!
Was looking at your dairy since day one, love your detailed explanation!
We share similar grow styleπ½
Was wondering how do you like the dualpart series form terra aquatica?, I use their tripart for some time now.. Wondering if it'll be easier to use the 2 part one
Good luck and have fun growing brother π±
@1_Plant_Wonder,
Thanks again for your kind works of support, much appreciated as a new grower. These two have been an amazing experice to date!
I have used both the tri-part and dual part coco now on two grows; The 3 vs 2 bottles does simplify the process and I am likely to purchase the dual part coco again when these bottles run out. With my water and autos I run ~40% strength nutrients at ~1200 EC using the dual part coco.
I had also considered the Canna line as they are also a two bottle setup and there are some examples of sucessful plants with Canna.
Been following along with your Purple Punch as it is on the list to grow in the near future...
Take care and enjoy the journey! π
@SwissKush,
I am hoping for some face melting! π΅π Thanks for the feedback, I still cannot believe they are mine! They smell great.....getting closer.
Plants looking fantastic!ππ½
Once most trichomes becomes cloudy, it won't be long before the amber starts to appear, and then flushing, so if you think you're a week /week and a half before that stage, start with final part;)
(Usually terra recommend 10 days of final part before flushing, but with autos everything is faster, so a good week of final part will do to my opinion)
But MY question is, would you continue using Calmag along with finalpart? Or not..? That I truly don't knowπ
Good luck! π
@1_Plant_Wonder,
I think the Sour Diesel is ~2wks from finishing based on other diaries with coco/ hydro/similar size. I was thinking FinalPart for 12 days and then 2 day FlashClean followed by ~ 2 days of water flush to run-off EC the # escapes me, but based on cocoforcannibas recommendations.
Good question on the CalMag and FinalPart. Both plants have minor rust spots. TA on the Coco formulas suggest no additional CalMag is needed, and I think FinalPart would be the same. My experience is even buffered coco with a specific coco fertilizer formula still needs CalMag added to any water you use to dilute to get your EC. Now with FinalPart you are basically just feeding bloom nutrients. Would not adding CalMag block some other needed micro nutrient during the final 2 weeks of flower? I don't know, but someone on the forum would perhaps. For now since there is already some signs I was planning to add it to the next feritgation with any water used to dilute to EC. I was thinking I could always fade it over the next week or so.
There are a few trichome pictures of SD at end of week 10. Mostly cloudy and some clear. I will grab some more photos with the USB microscope camera tomorrow. It is a challenge to get good photos..
