Week 6 begins in preflower! Nice growth/development/color last week with no issues noted. Height increased 30/34cm or ~12cm in height. Most LST as been removed, light defoliation on each with tons of leaf tucking to expose sites.
Plan for the week
1. Continue to light defoliate as needed to expose branches
2. LST adjusted
3. Check light height 30-35cm
4. Consider plant stand on BD if height difference increases
6. Consider flower schedule ~ day 46
7. Consider ScrOG net later in week to open things up
21-9-2024 Day 36. PH 5.88, EC 1180, 2.5L each with good run-off. May need to increase BD volumes as her run-off is less, but still with ~10%. LST and very light defoliation continues with removal of 5 leaves and a couple of small branches. Leaf tucking continues. Light ~32cm/90%. May need to raise temp probe and fans.
22-9-2024 Day 37. PH 6.03/6.05, EC 1190/1140, 3.5L each with great run-off, both are thirsty. LST adjusted and leaf tucking with light defoliation of 3 minor branches and few fan leaves off both. Light adjusted to ~34cm/90%. Temp probe raised.
23-9-2024 Day 38. PH 6.03/6.01, EC 1120/1220, 3/2.5L each with good run-off. Added PM fertigation with 2l each, run-off good. LST Adjusted, leaf tucking and defoliation of several fan leaves and a few minor branches. Lights height verified.
24-9-2024 Day 39. PH 6.0/6.05 , EC 1170/1200, 2L each with great run-off. LST added to SD to try and even out canopy, defoliation of several branches and fan leaves off each. Will only remove a few leaves tomorrow in order to not stress the plants and light defoliation over the next week. New tips were noted to be burned on SD and slight color changes to both earlier this week. On 23-9 noted to have overfed as I misread the line on the chart, was feeding 6/5 and should have been 6/4 (grow/bloom), identified yesterday am and will try 2 fertigation sessions x day to try and flush out any overfeed. May consider hanging netting at end of the week.
25-9-2024 Day 40. PH 6.10/6.01 , EC 1180/1170 , 2.5/1.5L with great run-off. Light raised to 32cm/90%. Adjusted LST on SD, canopy is fairly even.
26-9-2024 Day 41. PH 6.06/6.0 , EC 1180/1200 , 2/1.5L with great run-off. Lights raised to 33cm/90%. Canopy is fairly even bwtween the two. BD has ~5 main branches, and SD ~4-6 branches and the growth has been outstanding with both plants. Defoliated BD as she is bush and would like to improve the airflow. SD will get a light defoliation tomorrow. Raised fan.
27-9-2024 Day 42. PH 5.98/ , EC1280 2.5/2L with great run-off. Lights raised to 34cm/90%. Raised temp probe. Defoliated SD removed several branches and fan leaves.
Week 6 draws to a close and finds both plants gaining height to 48/50cm or ~16-18cm for the week, despite my misread of the nutrient schedule. Switched to 2x daily fertigation, once volume demand goes down, likely next week, will switch back to 1x when able. Both look amazing, impressed by their resilience and loving their structure.
Plan for week 7
1. Continue to verify light height daily
2. Adjust fans and temperature probe as needed
3. Switch to flower schedule around Day 46
4. Defloliate once stretch is complete
5. Consider ScrOG net to support branches and to continue to open up canopy
Beautiful looking plants!πππ½ They looks super healthy and the growth rate is perfect!
Was looking at your dairy since day one, love your detailed explanation!
We share similar grow styleπ½
Was wondering how do you like the dualpart series form terra aquatica?, I use their tripart for some time now.. Wondering if it'll be easier to use the 2 part one
Good luck and have fun growing brother π±
@1_Plant_Wonder,
Thanks again for your kind works of support, much appreciated as a new grower. These two have been an amazing experice to date!
I have used both the tri-part and dual part coco now on two grows; The 3 vs 2 bottles does simplify the process and I am likely to purchase the dual part coco again when these bottles run out. With my water and autos I run ~40% strength nutrients at ~1200 EC using the dual part coco.
I had also considered the Canna line as they are also a two bottle setup and there are some examples of sucessful plants with Canna.
Been following along with your Purple Punch as it is on the list to grow in the near future...
Take care and enjoy the journey! π
@SwissKush,
I am hoping for some face melting! π΅π Thanks for the feedback, I still cannot believe they are mine! They smell great.....getting closer.
Plants looking fantastic!ππ½
Once most trichomes becomes cloudy, it won't be long before the amber starts to appear, and then flushing, so if you think you're a week /week and a half before that stage, start with final part;)
(Usually terra recommend 10 days of final part before flushing, but with autos everything is faster, so a good week of final part will do to my opinion)
But MY question is, would you continue using Calmag along with finalpart? Or not..? That I truly don't knowπ
Good luck! π
@1_Plant_Wonder,
I think the Sour Diesel is ~2wks from finishing based on other diaries with coco/ hydro/similar size. I was thinking FinalPart for 12 days and then 2 day FlashClean followed by ~ 2 days of water flush to run-off EC the # escapes me, but based on cocoforcannibas recommendations.
Good question on the CalMag and FinalPart. Both plants have minor rust spots. TA on the Coco formulas suggest no additional CalMag is needed, and I think FinalPart would be the same. My experience is even buffered coco with a specific coco fertilizer formula still needs CalMag added to any water you use to dilute to get your EC. Now with FinalPart you are basically just feeding bloom nutrients. Would not adding CalMag block some other needed micro nutrient during the final 2 weeks of flower? I don't know, but someone on the forum would perhaps. For now since there is already some signs I was planning to add it to the next feritgation with any water used to dilute to EC. I was thinking I could always fade it over the next week or so.
There are a few trichome pictures of SD at end of week 10. Mostly cloudy and some clear. I will grab some more photos with the USB microscope camera tomorrow. It is a challenge to get good photos..
