I just transplanted 1 of the Peyote Criticals (the one that got a close up) and overall I think theyre doing very well. 2 of the Peyotes got started a few days late (a pineapple chunk died mysteriously) but I think they'll be ready for the solo cups in the next day or two also.
I germinated these in paper towels and one of the Peyotes grew between the layers and I had to get it out with tweezers, unfortunately when it went in the Root Riot pod, half of it's root broke off. Surprisingly, the little thing bounced right back, I even had an issue one morning where it dried out faster than the others and had fallen over. I thought it was dead but within an hour of watering it was standing right back up!
(The other 2 solo cup seedlings are LSD's from Barney's Farm)
*1/8/19*
I got my largest 2 plants transplanted into their 5 gals last night, a Peyote and an LSD from my other journal, and theyre both loving it so far!
Now I did have some issues with burned tips, the worst was on the transplanted Peyote seen here but I think that was because of a faulty pH meter. I got some really nice test strips from my local hydro store and they seem to be doing much better already.
Ive also started watering them with quarter strengths of Calmag, Fox Farm Grow Big and Fox Farm Big Bloom about every other watering.
Ive still got everyone on 24 hours of light but thatll go down to 18 a few days after the other plants get transplanted and settled in. Although they did survive a crisis of a 2 hour long power outage a couple nights ago haha.
Also I took these pictures with a pair of growroom sunglasses over my camera lense, if yall have any other ideas for taking pictures let me know!
**Update 1/10/19** Administered Neem Oil before lights out
**1/16**
Everyones doing fairly well, I had some issues with heat stress that have been getting better and I had a couple of these girls get some slight yellowing of their bottom leaves so I've resumed giving them quartered nutrients every other watering.
I did have one stall out on me, I realized I screwed up with it. I was spraying the closet walls to increase humidity a little bit, and that lil girl got some splashback….and I hadn't thought to ph the water. Anyways it didn't do much of anything for 4 or 5 days so I topped her and so far its doing well. Going a bit slow but is making progress, I'm hoping to transplant that one to a 5 gal sometime this week.
Other than that I'm probably going to start topping the other girls and getting to LST-ing, let me know what yall think! Thanks!
**1/23//19**
Things are going pretty well for the most part, temperature control has been difficult this week because of the weather but I can only do so much about that.
The plant that stunted early and that I topped had some issues with its bottom leaves that I thought was a deficiency, but after they dropped it actually started kicking things into gear so maybe it was just a side effect of the stunt.
I got everyone elses LST started and I topped the biggest of the Peyotes, its side branches are going wild! I even took off a fan leaf that was getting in the way of light to the lower branches but I don't think I need to defoliate it or anything yet.
I did temporarily stop with the foxfarm grow big because I was just starting to see a little bit of burnt tips so I boosted the calmag a little bit and watered until I saw runoff and that seems to have done the trick!
**Update 1/25/19**
I went ahead and topped the last 2 of these girls last night, theyre doing well so far!
**update 1/27**
These girls are going back to a 24 hour light schedule for at least this week, the temps here in Michigan are just too low to maintain without it
**Update 1/28**
Did some minor defoliation on the biggest of the peyote's,shes getting so big and bushy so fast now that they were really just getting in the way of a lot of the new tops. I took 6 leaves so I'll letcha know if it holds her back but shes the strongest in the closet haha
**1/29/19**
Everyones doing well, the one in the back named Shaggy and oooh boy shes getting BIG. Im a little worried it'll get out of control before the others are ready but yknow I'll figure it out haha. Had to put everyone back to a 24 hour light schedule because the weather is just so bad I cant control temps without the light on, but they seem to be enjoying it haha.
The small one that got stunted is trying its best but Ive decided to pop 2 auto amnesia's because that one and the mutated lsd just aren't going to give me the yields I need and I have room for 2 3 gallons. According to the breeder they should take about 80 days which is around when I'm hoping to harvest these so hopefully they can make up for it a bit.
Other than that everyones been topped and is making progress, the 2 smaller peyotes are really starting to get on it so that's exciting
**2/5/19**
Not much to report other than these girls are doing really well and seem to actually enjoy the 24 hour light schedule now. Theyre really exploding, even the little one that got stunted!

HELP! I was checking on my plants today and I think Ive found a phosphorus deficiency! I didn't update last week because I was extremely sick but I was keeping up with them, today I noticed some lower leaves on 2 of the Peyotes and 1 of the LSD's were turning yellow and dying off, and a couple have strange crispy spots near the edges.
I water them roughly every 3 days so I don't think overwatering is the issue, I was hoping to put these girls into flower this week but now I don't know what exactly to do. Should I introduce the big bloom or not?
Please any advice is appreciated I have so much invested in these girls!
**Update
Thanks for your advice everyone, I took a nap and charged my camera to add some more photos. Now Im actually noticing a bit of clawing and everything just seems kinda down and droopy, but my soil feel really dry and the pots are pretty light.
I ended up giving them a light flush with plain 6.2 water and it came out somewhere between 5.8-6.0. Gave them their first 12 hours of darkness and so far they look a bit better to me. Cant quite tell what the yellowing is doing but theyre perking up and not nearly as wilted. Temps got lower than I meant for them to but thatll be different tomorrow night.
Just gotta wait and see what they look like tomorrow not too much I can do now until they need water again
**Update 2/22
I was going to water them last night but didn't get home before the lights went out, still lookin a little yellow in some lower leaves but it doesn't seem to be getting worse, I'll be adding quarter strength calmag and big bloom to this watering
HELP! These girls look like they might have a phosphorus deficieny, I have more info in this weeks update. Please give me some ideas on what I should do I'm actually pretty desperate for these girls to turn out ok
Flush your soil with ph'd plain water..just plain water will do..couple times.. then cut your nutes to half and go from there.. less nutes is better many times 👌 hope this helps 👊
Happy grows and springtime! 👽
2/25
First week of flower is done, theyre looking a lot better than they were. All of the Peyotes have pistils now so Im excited to see what they do!
Thanks again to everyone for their advice!
3/5/19
Sorry Im a day late updating the diaries, Ive been super busy haha. Everyones looking grood for the most part, they've been drinking a LOT. Seem to really be liking the Bloom nutes, I'll probably bump them to full strength this week
3/11
Going well, these girls and the LSD's have been getting watered about every 2-3 days and they seem to be loving the stronger dose of Bloom nutes. I doubt you can tell in the photos but the Peyotes are actually starting to produce frost already which I'm pretty sure is a grood thing hahaha.
Oh Im also messing with exposure levels on my camera, hopefully these photos are a bit better lemme know what yall think!
3/18/19
The peyotes are just bulking up and getting frostier, Ive boosted their Big Bloom to full strength and have introduced Tiger Bloom and they seem to love it. Theyre splitting almost gallon between the 4 of them every other day now so theyre some thirsty girls but theyre doing well.
I got a little pocket microscope and they've developed trichomes but theyre still just clear so Im thinking another 3ish weeks probably? This is my first grow so I'm not completely sure. Theyre getting smellier tho lol
These girls are getting fatter and frostier everyday, pretty pleased with em! 3 of em have about 20-30% cloudy trichomes but ones closer to 40-50, I put my finger in front of the pictures of that particular plants so lemme know what yall think of it!
Also they might look a little droopy in these pics I just watered them like an hour ago lol
4/1/19
These girls are doing very well, I just checked the trichomes and theyre probably all between 70-80% cloudy and starting to get some amber. So they'll most likely start their flush this week, probably going to flush them for 10 days.
Questions though, all of these girls will be dry trimmed after 3 days of darkness so does it matter when theyre last watered when you harvest? Like should I flush them and then put them in the dark and harvest or what haha, These girls will be my first plants Ive ever harvested so I just wanna get it right haha
Also I have a tent to dry them, since theyre being dry trimmed about how humid should I keep it in there? Everyone seems to have their own ideas about it haha
4/10/19
Sorry Im a couple days late updating this I haven't been home much haha. These girls are doing well though, a little over a week of being flushed. They've all gotten a half gallon of cold water twice now, next one in a day or two will have some ice in it. I think they've got about a week left but the trichomes are coming along really nicely. So there will probably be 1 more entry before harvest.
And don't worry yall I will be updating with the dry weight and everything haha
4/15/19
These girls are doing very well, I just gave them their last flush and threw em in the dark tent so they'll be harvested sometime in the next 3-4 days. The photos were taken right before I put em in there.
I'll be dry trimming them so expect the final harvest update with weights and whatnot in about 2 weeks.
Thanks for the help on this one yall!
**Update 4/18**
These girls came down today and are drying and ooooooh boy are they smelly hahaha!
Havent smoked much of it yet but its a nice body high, unfortunately the buds are a bit airy and actually had some seeds. I think maybe they didn't like the pre-harvest icing. I have 1 more of these seeds and I'll probably be replacing the lights with a t5 setup so well see how that goes
If anyone has any advice on getting a larger harvest or any ideas on why these girls produced some seeds let me know! I really needed a lot more off these girls so I am disappointed, but seeing as its my first grow I don't think things went too terribly
Hope you are feeling better. Stomach bugs are awful.
I hesitate to say that you have a phosphorus deficiency. I think you need to do more testing/research to find out what is going on with your plants. Are you taking pH readings of your water and feedings? What are the PPM? Have you thought of doing a slurry test? I read that this type of deficiency shows up if the soil is too compact, or you are over-watering. How much of the plant is affected?
How often do you feed your plants? I water about every 3 days and my schedule is feed/feed/Recharge. Recharge is a microbial supplement. Do you have any way to test the moisture levels in your soil?
The reason I say all of this is so you don't just start adding supplements, hoping to correct the balance. Sometimes its a simple thing like letting your soil dry out, or adjusting your pH. Maybe these strains are not fond of a lot of nutes.
@Quexos, Theyre lookin a bit better, well see what they look like tomorrow but theyre perkier and not getting wilted like they were last night. cant tell what the yellowings doing but well see. Thanks for the help!
These plants are looking choice! Everyone is happy and healthy. Buds are looking real frosty!
In my experience, harvesting about 10 weeks into showing flowers is a good rule of thumb. I use that to figure out my feeding schedules. Each plant is different though. Some take longer, some shorter.
Look up your strain on the breeder's website. They give you a flowering range. Start the number of days when you actually see flowers, not when you flipped to 12/12.
@Quexos, lol "like" a true grower. imma go knock on wood so I don't screw up these last weeks hahahaha!
Im like a fledgling grower, haven't gotten my flyin wings yet lol
@ChainsawSanta, I have 2 tents. I use 1 for autos and the other for photos.
I'm having fun with the auto tent. Way more harvests and the plants have looked killer so far. I'd like to do some perpetual harvests this fall.
@Quexos, Oh the tents going on the other side of the room from the closet haha. The ceiling over there is waaaay higher than the closet so itll be able to vent that heat off. I just cant grow my max number of plants in the closet and I want to be able to harvest more often so I figure itll be easier to split the grows
@ChainsawSanta, You have to be careful if you put your tent in the closet. If your tent is too big there is no room for ventilation and you will have a difficulties with heat. Why don't you just use the closet and make it grow ready?
There are lots of ways to tame some of those big plants. You can also look for hybrids that grow shorter.
Gratz on your harvest! Did you find and "nanners" in your buds? They will hold pollen and you could end up with seeds.
A lot of the bud density you are looking for comes from light intensity during flowering and strain you are growing. I've found the buds under my QB lights are bigger and denser then the ones under my COB set-up. Start eliminating the variables that inhibit your bud growth. You will start seeing improvements in your yields.
@Quexos, I could but at that point I feel like your probably not benefiting as much in terms of electricity use. Imma keep mine around for supplemental lighting if I need it (unless someone locally wants to buy it off me haha Im not shipping this thing). But yeah, plus my main support in the closet is a thick pvc pipe I mounted with some 4x6's, its pretty strong but I wouldn't want multiple setups on it haha
@ChainsawSanta, I'm running 500w COB Combo in my 3x3. It's a Blomm. I think its a knock-off from a European Company. I bought it on Amazon. It seemed fine at first, but I'd like something with more ooomph. My plan is to move the QB from my 4x4 into my 3x3 and buy a new, larger QB for my 4x4. I don't think I'm using enough of the space in my bigger tent.
I guess you could also run multiple lights in the tent.
@Quexos, Yeah the LED model I have now is from the 'kingplus' brand, I dunno I feel like I read a lot of reviews before I got it but everything about it now just kinda sketches me out.
Vivosuns a nice brand tho, and a 400w should cover a 4x4 pretty well so I'm hoping for some nice results with em
@Quexos, haha yeah all ive got is the one light. its supposed to put out 1500w but I'm not sure how much I trust that. I'm gonna see how it does for these girls flowering and figure out if I need to get another light or a better light.
Also I just got home haha so Imma try to take a plant out in a little bit lol
@ChainsawSanta, I have 2 different lights on my system. I've been turning the purple ones off for photos. It's not big deal if you can't take them out. It just provides better pictures of your grow.
Looking strong and healthy! Isn't this supposed to be an auto? My girl hasn't flipped yet either. I'm hoping this week.
Since this strain takes a long time to get to flowering, topping and LST was a good idea. I've seen some of these journals. This strain tends to get kinda wild. You gotta train 'em early!😎
@ChainsawSanta,https://www.dutch-passion.com/en/cannabis-seeds/product/auto-critical-orange-punch/
No matter though. If its not an auto, all the links in the world aren't going to make it flower!😟
@Quexos, Yeah that's weird I cant find an auto version of the Peyote Criticals, mustve been a packaging mistake or something.
Yeah though these are definitely some beauties, and potent too!
@ChainsawSanta, Hmm, the package said auto, and I got on their website and they have an auto version. I'm not sure where to put this plant if I have to flip it.
She is going to be gorgeous either way. I love the structure of this plant so far.
Nice looking buds you got there hombre. You've done a nice job.
Flushing, harvesting, trimming, etc., are all highly subjective. I'd get a bunch of ideas from people and find a process that works for you. My process is probably a mish mash of a bunch of different sources.
I'll do a final flush with filtered water. I'm looking for the run-off to look clear. Then I'll put them back in the tent, under lights, for 3 days. This gives the plants a chance to flush out and remove toxins. It also gives the soil/roots a chance to dry out. Then I turn the lights off for another 3 days to stress them out and hopefully increase potency/flavor. Some people will put ice cubes and snow on the soil and really stress them out. I'm just looking for them to finish up their business.
@Quexos, I just gave em water that was about 50 degrees but the weathers been nice here the past few days so temps in the closet have been pretty stable. 75-80 in the day and about 70 at night
@ChainsawSanta, That sounds like a good plan. I only worry about water temperature in the winter. How cold are you going to make the water? If you make it too cold, too early, there could negative effects.
@Quexos, Thanks! ive been giving them warm water with their nutes so I think Ill start by giving them cold water and see how they handle that, I think I'm going to flush them for about 2 weeks so I think I'll start really stressing them about a week in. Both the caregivers I know irl say 10-14 days is what they do.
Plus I think especially cuz these are indicas I can get away with another 2 full weeks and they can only get fatter haha
Everything is looking great! Nice bud formation and its pretty early in flowering!!!
Pay close attention to the tips of your leaves after you up the % of your nutes. You want to watch for nutrient burn.
@Quexos, haha I text my brother when I water them so kinda. they just seem to be sensitive but its getting better. Also Ive heard that too, I think ill start trying some techniques around the same time as I start to flush them
@ChainsawSanta, Do you keep track of how often and how much you water? Keeping track of watering will prevent emergency waterings.
Although some growers stress their plants out by underwatering on purpose. Supposedly it increases potency, resins, etc.. Just old growing folklore though. I don't know if there is any validity to doing that.
@Quexos, thanks! yeah I bumped em up to 12 mls of bloom last night. they seem to be responding really well. I kept having issues with when they needed water I was having to do it ASAP cuz they were getting really wilted and sad real quick but that seems to be improving.
and the budsites seem to love it haha. id say some of them are about the size of nickels already and they just finished stretching so hopefully they do somethin special!
You got yourself lots of nice looking tops there !! Lots of potential for some extra kick ass medicine !! :D :D :D Keep up the great work and best of luck on your race to the finish line !!
- Happy Growing!
@The_Projexx,Thank you! I think theyre just about done stretching because theyre really starting to kick into gear making buds. I'm about to update the diaries now :)
@CRiSPrGrow, i would but i have some fees to pay for a surgery i really need haha. I might be able to push it back a week. ill have to figure out if i can push some appointments back
@Psilocubensis, this was a really nice strain to grow, I wish I had given them another 2 weeks of veg time and taken off more of the small lower growth but since this was my first grow I didn't want to over due it. but mine were really hardy and took to training well so I think it would've really helped with bud density.
my new crop is being grown under an mh/hps setup and I think this strain would've really benefited from that also. but overall its just a really nice quality strain, great heavy indica and a really rich earthy smell. although I didn't use molasses to flush them so if you do that they might have a sweeter smell/taste but I liked it anyways haha
@weed_gastro,Thanks! Yeah imma be switching to hps lights here soon so hopefully my next crop will be better. I accidently killed my last peyote critical seed but ill definitely run them again sometime!
@Quexos, thanks haha! just waiting to finish flushing em, I just had to stake down a bunch more branches cuz I noticed they were falling over from the weight haha
@ChainsawSanta
Is your namesake power tool your harvest method?? 😆 😂
You wrote “...they'll most likely start their flush this week, probably going to flush them for 10 day..”
The number of days is inconsequential. Give her at least three clean waterings prior to harvest. And then let her dry out. Nice work so far. Enjoy your harvest.
@growdoctordc, They just got their 2nd today so grood info thanks! I just checked the trichomes before I did it and theyre maturing really well.
Also haha no its pretty much my real name at this point lol, punks get weird names Chainsaw Santas mine, Chainsaw for short hahaha
