Flipped her to flower yesterday but I’m counting today as day 1 as it’s the first proper light cycle. I have raised my light to 27 inches just in case of excess stretch as I won’t be able to go into the tent much due to time constrictions. I will be feeding her veg nutes during the stretch period as the extra nitrogen should help with growth. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly from today.
Pheno #1 has been giving me some issues with high ppm in runoff. I have managed to correct it and will be giving her a veg feeding tomorrow to see how she reacts.
Hey guys had a quick question for you. I’m giving my plants about 500mls of water every 2-3 days and water when dry. I am currently growing in promix and I’m already seeing a few roots near the base of the plant. Is 500mls of water enough for a 1 gallon pot?
I think @Bulbi is right. For me and mine, by week 4 typically I'm watering 250ml about 2.5 to 3 days apart. Week One I use 15ml, Week Two 30ml, Week Three 60-75ml. I'll incorporate nutrients usually during week 2. Good luck
Hey guys hope one of you promix medium experts can help me out here. I was initially suffering from clawing due to watering at 6.3ph. Going to 6.5ph fixed clawing on pheno #2 but pheno #1 has not recovered. I tried not feeding for 2 weeks and still have issues.
Hey there Looks like what you are seeing on those leaves is the start of a phosphorus deficiency You might want to get a bloom booster supplement to help with that and when you feed make sure to do something like feed-water-water-feed and it should help prevent that from happening because sometimes it has it in the soil but does not have the time to up take it so when you give it more it creates a build up and the plant won't absorb it as easy. Happy Growing!!🙏
So I am currently on day 28 of flower and seeing no new signs of deficiencies. I’m running the Sensi bloom schedule at half strength 800ppm. Should I up my feed if my plants aren’t showing signs of deficiencies or will not do anything and just cause salt buildup?
You'r half way and your Ec is 1.7 so I would push a bit with some more PK but really carefully to avoid over feeding issue. In soil I found out that 1.8 Ec was the average value in mid/late flowering , no need to get higher but some plants can takes higher level like 2.0 or 2.2 for some specific strains but not every strains likes heavy feeding.
@BarrieGrower, I am growing under a optic 4 led with older generation cobs. It’s about 415W. I did do defoliation in flower in week 1 and 2 but I feel like it needs to be done mid week 3 as a lot of fan leaves came back so it didn’t help as much as I would have liked it to for light penetration.
@budsfromthesix, great looking grow and thanks for sharing. I'm in the same boat as you trying to figure everything out as I go along. You are doing a great job of it!
If you don't mind me asking, did you do any defoliation and what lights do you use and how many? You obviously have it right.
Thanks and happy growing!
@CRiSPrGrow, 100% agreed 👍
Now I've seen that crazy root growth a potting up was definitely needed 👊
Now they have extra medium I'm sure things will be back on track 👍

@BarrieGrower, Thankyou so much man. It smokes nice right now but still too sticky for joints which is my preferred method of smoking. I will report back in 2 weeks :)
By the look of things it's time to get the scissors out and your fingers sticky my friend 👊
Big fat buds dripping in trichomes and some amazing colours coming through, what's not to love 👌
Beautiful work which is going to be rewarded with some 10/10 end product🔥 that will pack a serious punch 👊
Please do a pre harvest update that would be greatly appreciated mate 👍

Looks epic so far you gonna get ready to start the show soon and have them ladies all covered in big dank nuggie nugs !! Wishing you the best of luck on the rest of your grow !
-Happy Growing!
@The_Projexx, thanks for answering my question good sir. I use promix HP and water at 6:5ph, both plants get the same feed every other watering and I try to water to 10-20% runoff. Pheno #2 suffered from clawing when watering at 6.3ph and when I bumped it 6.5 she went back to normal. Pheno #1 however has never recovered. I tried a flush last watering and dumped 20 litres into the 6 Gallon pot but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything for the clawing. I also haven’t gone over half strength for the nutrients.
hey B, hope i could help ! here's something i read today that i think might help you : https://cocoforcannabis.com/watering_coco/ anything else comes up just let me know ! 👊
Initially I thought this was a nutrient deficiency issue but now I'm not so sure. This could be down to overwatering and the pot size maybe a little small 👍
What size pots are you using mate? And could this be an overwatering issue?

Mark..
@budsfromthesix, You've Defintely got the salt build up issue under control and now our Black D.O.G is entering the final weeks and looking in great shape mate 👌
Big fat buds dripping in trichomes and by the description both phenos are smelling amazing 👍
Not long now mate and it will be harvest time 👊
Until next time 👍

@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, it turned out to be a salt build up issue which caused nutrient lockout and was throwing off the ph. I did a 50 Litre flush and reintroduced nutes and she bounced back the next day and it’s been smooth sailing for the last 2 weeks :)
@budsfromthesix, As you have 2 plants it could still be an overwatering issue mate as each plant has an independent rootzone which will take up water/feed as a different rate 👍
It does look like the issue is now under control and trichome production looks amazing 👌
Keep the updates coming my friend 👍

Hi, there are a few Reasons Plants are clawing. dont have to be toxicity, If you overwater your plants clawing too, on underwatering they are clawing, if you have root problems they are clawing. What sounds the most possible thing to you=?Iam tending to overwatering, if your datas with 2l in 24hours are right. Solutions. repot your plant and look for the Roots look how the medium on the bottom of the pot is, If medium is wet, or swampy transplant your Girl and give her dry feets, if roots are brown and smelly, you got to come to action( more in the comments)A Plant in that size dont need more than 200-300 ml for 24 hours . Ok give me or another grower feedback to look further.
oh one more reason might be windburn that a plant got clawing leaves..........
@budsfromthesix,ok thats good to hear, did you test the trouble shooting schedule from the link=?,,, i llike that schedule very much , its selfdiagnosis in a few steps...and maybe its just a small excess, i see no big problems in your grow
Could the clawing be down to temperatures my friend?
It's not a typical trait with Black dog and apart from that issue everything else looks on track 👍
Some very nice growth over the last week, she's definitely one big lady 👌
Keep the updates coming buddy 👊

@budsfromthesix, I agree mate, definitely temp related but also pot bound 👍
Those roots are crazy 👌and will most definitely appreciate the potting up. It will allow those roots to spread just in time for the flower show to begin 👌
Another 2-3 weeks of veg (18/6) then it will be time to flip that switch, sit back and watch a really cool flower show 😎
Thanks as always for the diary update buddy 👊

@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, I think it might be temps. I was having a real Harding time keepings temps below 28 degrees. I have managed to get it down to 25 over the last 2 days and she does look a lot happier :)
Firstly Happy New year from Humboldt County and secondly thank you for choosing our genetics for this adventure on the grow diary platform👊
You have chosen a great strain with our Black D.O.G and we are very honoured that you selected our genetics for your first ever grow 👊
Good luck mate. We are watching with interest from Humboldt County ✌️

@budsfromthesix, That's what we like to hear 👍
Nice job on both the potting up and topping, very nicely done 👌

Looks nice, hope that light issue wont make you cry ..
I use only old retro style 24 hours regulators, they have no led screen, no indicators and works just fine all the time.
Had to fight with lightleaks and other stupid problems with those modern ones ...
Girls looks amazing !
Keep on growing !
Looking pretty good!! At least it looks to be an early stage of the deficiency so you should be able to correct it no problem👍👊 Hope I was able to help😊 Happy Growing an Plentiful Harvests!!🙏

I feel MUCH better for having narrowed it down. Thanks, Mrs L!
(Text doesn’t always convert tone properly - I am genuinely laughing at the irony of trying hard. As usual, great info!)
