Really good growth on pheno 1 so far. Leaves are nice and big. Decided to transplant at day 10 for pheno #1. I did mess up a little bit while transplanting as the soil was still a bit too wet. Hopefully won't have issues with shock. 2 days after transplant and the plant is doing well. Still seeing good growth every day so it doesn't seem to be shocked. Pheno #2 is slowly trecking along. Hoping to see good growth within the next few weeks. Just did a transplant of pheno #2 as it was starting to get root bound at the base of the cup. Seems to be doing ok with slight transplant shock

Just starting week 3 for pheno #1 and it got its first feed today. I gave it about 500mls of water will see how it reacts to it over the next few days. Did a top for pheno #1 last night and transplanted to 3 gallon pot as I had roots shoots out the bottom of the drainage holes.

Hey guys had a quick question for you. I’m giving my plants about 500mls of water every 2-3 days and water when dry. I am currently growing in promix and I’m already seeing a few roots near the base of the plant. Is 500mls of water enough for a 1 gallon pot?

I think @Bulbi is right. For me and mine, by week 4 typically I'm watering 250ml about 2.5 to 3 days apart. Week One I use 15ml, Week Two 30ml, Week Three 60-75ml. I'll incorporate nutrients usually during week 2. Good luck

Transplanted her on January 23rd and topped her the day before so suffered from a decent amount stress plus watering at the wrong ph which was causing clawing. She seems to be recovering pretty well and will keep an eye on her throughout the week Transplanted pheno #2 on day 23. The soil exploded a bit during transplant and I thought I was going to suffer from transplant shock but to my amazement there was no shock whatsoever. These plants seem to be very light feeders, they’ve only been fed once so far.

Plants are growing like crazy. She’s super bushy and a very light feeder. I’ve fed pheno #1 once since sprout and she doesn’t stop growing. Good progress so far! So it’s been a little over a month since these have sprouted. They have only been fed once to date and the plant still looks healthy. Black dog seems to be a very light feeder so far.

Hey guys hope one of you promix medium experts can help me out here. I was initially suffering from clawing due to watering at 6.3ph. Going to 6.5ph fixed clawing on pheno #2 but pheno #1 has not recovered. I tried not feeding for 2 weeks and still have issues.

Hey there Looks like what you are seeing on those leaves is the start of a phosphorus deficiency You might want to get a bloom booster supplement to help with that and when you feed make sure to do something like feed-water-water-feed and it should help prevent that from happening because sometimes it has it in the soil but does not have the time to up take it so when you give it more it creates a build up and the plant won't absorb it as easy. Happy Growing!!🙏

Pheno 2 has been doing really well throughout this grow. But I’m struggling with pheno #1. She has been droopy the past few days and new growth is lighter than the rest of the plant. I have ruled out overwatering. I don’t know if it’s nitrogen deficiency because the old growth completely fine. Temperature in the tent is 25-26 degrees celcius and humidity sits at 50%. Any help would be great appreciated. In terms of feeding I feed every other watering and water till 20% runoff

Flipped her to flower yesterday but I’m counting today as day 1 as it’s the first proper light cycle. I have raised my light to 27 inches just in case of excess stretch as I won’t be able to go into the tent much due to time constrictions. I will be feeding her veg nutes during the stretch period as the extra nitrogen should help with growth. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly from today. Pheno #1 has been giving me some issues with high ppm in runoff. I have managed to correct it and will be giving her a veg feeding tomorrow to see how she reacts.

Just starting week 2 of flowering and all my problems with pheno #1 seem to fixed. Plant is not droopy at all anymore but leaves are lighter in colour and slightly behind on pistil formation. Pheno #2 has been doing amazing and stretched out real nice. I gave her the very first bloom feeding since the pistols have really started to pop on her. Excited to see how she will turn out over the next 6 weeks Day 14 and pheno #2 seems to be in the lead. Not sure if it’s because she was the one I topped the least or just genetics. Looking forward to the journey ahead to see how these buds develop and mature.

Plants are starting dank now but pheno #2 is still ahead. Also noticing an issue with this brown/purple streaking on fan leaves on pheno #1 at the very top of the plant just under the leaves where the buds are forming. If anyone has any idea let me know. Noticed lots of clawing on pheno #1 and she looked all weird. Did a flush yesterday with 50 Litres of water at 6.5 ph and then added 10 litres of half strength nutes. No droopiness the next day and she does look a little better. She is however behind in terms of growth compared to pheno #2

Good start off to week 4. I did a 50 litre flush for pheno #1 and she bounced back real good. She is super happy and growth is really starting to pick up. A little more small in the tent now so I’m happy. I’ve also added bamboo sticks for both plants since I’m not using scrog so no trellis net to stop the plants from falling over once they start to pack on weight. Excited to see how the next couple are gonna go. Hopefully no more issues :)

So I am currently on day 28 of flower and seeing no new signs of deficiencies. I’m running the Sensi bloom schedule at half strength 800ppm. Should I up my feed if my plants aren’t showing signs of deficiencies or will not do anything and just cause salt buildup?

You'r half way and your Ec is 1.7 so I would push a bit with some more PK but really carefully to avoid over feeding issue. In soil I found out that 1.8 Ec was the average value in mid/late flowering , no need to get higher but some plants can takes higher level like 2.0 or 2.2 for some specific strains but not every strains likes heavy feeding.

Heading into week 9 and seeing some good trichrome production so far. I’ve upped my nutes to 2.5ml/L and no issues with pheno #1 after the major flush. Not much smell in the tent yet but I’m assuming it’s going to change drastically over the next 2 weeks. Can’t wait to see how this run goes. Only about a month or more left till I chop her down. Update on day 31 of flower: So trichrome production has doubled over the last few days and pheno #1 has really doubled in size due to a heavy feed and she’s spread out more with the help of tying her branches to bamboo stakes. Also starting to see some nice stacking on main colas and a little more thickness. No increase in terpene smell yet but I’m expecting it to really improve over the next 2 weeks.

Day 2 of week 6 and things seem to be going ok. I ran into a horrible problem 2 days ago, my power went out in the middle of the night and reset the timer on the light so for 2 days my lights came on during the light cycle. I am really hoping I don’t see any nanners within the next 2-3 weeks as that would just ruin 4 months of work. I will be switching to an external timer next run to prevent this from happening. I have been checking for nanners on a daily basis.

Day 43 of flower and no issues so far. Pheno #2 is stacking beautifully and is actually getting decently fat and she’s caked in trichromes. Pheno #1 is behind on the stack, colas are half the size which might be due the fact that she was topped 7 times, who knows. Super happy with the results so far. It smells like berries in there. I definitely feel this strain needs longer than 8 weeks. I’m aiming for 65 days of flower. Let me know if you guys think I should run her longer. Update at Day 45: White pistils have started reversing a bit and starting to grow brown. They seem to be doing pretty well. Pheno #1 is suffering from calcium deficiency but it’s too late inflower for me to try to do anything to fix it and the plant is pretty happy so I’m not worried. I’m still aiming to harvest at day 65. Did a squeeze test today just to get a feel of what the terpenes smell like. Pheno #1 is leaning more towards emerald headband as it just smells like gas and I love gas despite her being a finicky bitch to grow I’m excited lol. Pheno #2 is leaning towards blackberry kush as it just smells like fruity berries.

Pheno #2 still looks like she’s a week to 10 days behind. She looks more Sativa leaning and smells like blackberries 🍇🍇. Hoping she finishes in the next 2 weeks.

So we’re at the start of week at 10 and both plants are coming along nicely. Pheno #1 has swelled considerably over the last 2 weeks and she has packed on some serious weight. Pheno #2 is a little behind but unfortunately I will have to chop her early as I have to dry in the tent that I grow in. Will be chopping both plants in a few days. Update Day 67: Both plants have been chopped and hung. They’re taking up 2 rows of across my grow tent. Going for a nice slow dry with temperatures sitting at 65F and humidity sitting at 60%RH.

Growing this strain was pretty straightforward and I got 2 different phenos. Pheno #1 was straight gas while pheno #2 leaned heavily towards berries. After flowering for 67 days both plants were chopped at the same time and I did a long slow dry to preserve the terpenes. Both plants were on the leafier side in terms of trimming and in terms of nug density it’s not rock hard or fluffy. It’s about in the middle and the colas came out quite nice with decent calyx stacking. I feel like I still chopped a little early and should have let her go at least a week or 2 longer. Overall I’m pretty happy with my first run and have definitely learned quite a few things to have better run for the next grow which will be starting in about a weeks time. Since I only grew 2 plants I got a little over 8 ounces which is about 1 gram per watt as I only used half the space in my grow area.

@BarrieGrower, I am growing under a optic 4 led with older generation cobs. It’s about 415W. I did do defoliation in flower in week 1 and 2 but I feel like it needs to be done mid week 3 as a lot of fan leaves came back so it didn’t help as much as I would have liked it to for light penetration.

@The_Projexx, thanks for answering my question good sir. I use promix HP and water at 6:5ph, both plants get the same feed every other watering and I try to water to 10-20% runoff. Pheno #2 suffered from clawing when watering at 6.3ph and when I bumped it 6.5 she went back to normal. Pheno #1 however has never recovered. I tried a flush last watering and dumped 20 litres into the 6 Gallon pot but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything for the clawing. I also haven’t gone over half strength for the nutrients.

Initially I thought this was a nutrient deficiency issue but now I'm not so sure. This could be down to overwatering and the pot size maybe a little small 👍 What size pots are you using mate? And could this be an overwatering issue? With love from Humboldt County✌️ Kind regards Mark..

@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, it turned out to be a salt build up issue which caused nutrient lockout and was throwing off the ph. I did a 50 Litre flush and reintroduced nutes and she bounced back the next day and it’s been smooth sailing for the last 2 weeks :)

@budsfromthesix, As you have 2 plants it could still be an overwatering issue mate as each plant has an independent rootzone which will take up water/feed as a different rate 👍 It does look like the issue is now under control and trichome production looks amazing 👌 Keep the updates coming my friend 👍 With love from Humboldt County✌️ Kind regards Team-HSO..

Hi, there are a few Reasons Plants are clawing. dont have to be toxicity, If you overwater your plants clawing too, on underwatering they are clawing, if you have root problems they are clawing. What sounds the most possible thing to you=?Iam tending to overwatering, if your datas with 2l in 24hours are right. Solutions. repot your plant and look for the Roots look how the medium on the bottom of the pot is, If medium is wet, or swampy transplant your Girl and give her dry feets, if roots are brown and smelly, you got to come to action( more in the comments)A Plant in that size dont need more than 200-300 ml for 24 hours . Ok give me or another grower feedback to look further. oh one more reason might be windburn that a plant got clawing leaves..........

Could the clawing be down to temperatures my friend? It's not a typical trait with Black dog and apart from that issue everything else looks on track 👍 Some very nice growth over the last week, she's definitely one big lady 👌 Keep the updates coming buddy 👊 With love from Humboldt County ✌️ Kind regards Team-HSO..

@budsfromthesix, I agree mate, definitely temp related but also pot bound 👍 Those roots are crazy 👌and will most definitely appreciate the potting up. It will allow those roots to spread just in time for the flower show to begin 👌 Another 2-3 weeks of veg (18/6) then it will be time to flip that switch, sit back and watch a really cool flower show 😎 Thanks as always for the diary update buddy 👊 With love from Humboldt County✌️ Kind regards Team-HSO..

@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, I think it might be temps. I was having a real Harding time keepings temps below 28 degrees. I have managed to get it down to 25 over the last 2 days and she does look a lot happier :)

Looks nice, hope that light issue wont make you cry .. I use only old retro style 24 hours regulators, they have no led screen, no indicators and works just fine all the time. Had to fight with lightleaks and other stupid problems with those modern ones ... Girls looks amazing ! Keep on growing !

@Mrs_Larimar wrote “Plants are clawing. dont have to be toxicity, If you overwater your plants clawing too, on underwatering they are clawing” I feel MUCH better for having narrowed it down. Thanks, Mrs L! (Text doesn’t always convert tone properly - I am genuinely laughing at the irony of trying hard. As usual, great info!)
