Introduction - Week 04 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 9781.61, This was the first week of flower and wow what a week! Overall growth has been surprisingly green and healthy! Took the #4 cutting and planted her into a Coco Coin and is now rooting in the propagation dome. Waiting for roots now and plan to transplant into a solo cup soon. Keep on growing my girls! But I start counting flower weeks after bud sites visually begin to form (which was last week). --- The first week under the 12/12 usually is basically another veg week with fast upward growth. Then during the second week (last week) is when I usually start to see buds. So this week 1 of flower for this log. --- Kinda as if these plants were grown outdoors. Nature does not flip to flower instantly. --- Anyways, --- Onwards with this grow! Growth is greening up and looking good! - [18:27]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------ 29% - [CH01 FP5 - Garlic Budder #1] ------ 33% - [CH02 FP5 - Original Garlic Budder #2] ------ 40% - [CH03 GR7 - Garlic Budder #3] ------ 28% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder #4] ------ 36% - [CH05 GR7 - Original Garlic Budder #2] ------ 32% - [CH06 GR7 - Original Garlic Budder #1] ------ 39% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 35% - [CH08 GR5 - Original Garlic Budder #1] - [18:33]: Filled a pump sprayer with 3 cups of distilled water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto an original #1’s straw mulch. --- Also sprayed the other 3 plants a bit. --- Okay! - [18:42]: Time to begin the rooting process! --- Configured the controller on the AC Infinity Propagation dome. --- Made sure that the settings were set to: ------ START/END times - 04:00PM/10:00AM ------ Light intensity - 2 (out of 10). --- Also made sure the propagation light controller’s time was in sync with the Controller 69 Pro. - [18:53]: Filled a measuring cup with 1 cup of distilled water. ------ Added a pinch of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] ------ Added 1/64tsp of Horticultural Aloe ------ Added 1/32tsp of Mycrobe Complete --- Mixed the solution thoroughly. - [19:01]: Dropped a Coco Coin into the measuring cup. --- The coin immediately started to expand. --- [~10 minutes later] --- Took the Coco Coin and slightly shook enough moisture out so it wasn’t dripping, yet still pretty saturated. - [19:14]: Using a squeeze bottle filled with Clonex, --- Gently filled the pre-made hole with Clonex rooting gel. --- Temporarily set the Coco Coin in a solo cup. - [19:16]: Time to plant the cutting! --- Using a pair of clean trimmers, made a final 45° cut through the bottom node. --- Also stripped away and scared some of the stem’s outer membrane before inserting the cutting. --- Made sure a node was at least a good 1" below the surface of the coco. --- To help with planting, while inserting the cutting, gave the Coco Coin a gentle squeeze to loosen the coco. This also helped to ensure the coco and gel was in good contact with the cutting. --- Once the cutting was planted, placed her into the propagation dome. - [19:26]: Misted the sides of the propagation dome with distilled water. --- Poured the tiniest bit of distilled water into the bottom of the tray (~5ml). --- Sprayed the lid of the propagation dome before covering the cutting. --- Vents are fully closed. --- As far as PPFD, --- Based on past cloning attempts, at level 2, the bar lights are outputting a PPFD of around 155 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 10.04 mol/m²/d under an 18/6 light cycle. --- Will check back daily to refresh the air under the dome. - [19:44]: Night check on the 4x4 flower tent. --- Ooo yea! Looking nice and perky ladies! --- Tops are everywhere! Now I understand why the name ‘Screen of Green’ is given to this form of trellis growing. --- Hyped to have wall-to-wall coverage! --- Absolutely beautiful! The top vents are still closed. - [20:38]: Filled a pump sprayer with 1.5 cups of distilled water. ------ Added a pinch of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto an original #1’s straw mulch. - [20:42]: Decided to raise the fan up a bit. --- Raised the CloudRay S6 fan up a few more inches closer to the light. - [20:58]: Checked the humidifiers. --- Refilled the humidifiers with distilled water as needed. --- Oops! - [22:59]: Took general PPFD readings. ------ All phenos were around 370 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 15.98 mol/m²/d under a 12/12 light cycle. - [23:08]: Took the weekly height and light distance measurements. ------ #1, #2, and #4 were about 41" tall. ------ #3 was about 17.25" tall. ------ All phenos were about 11" away from the grow light.
