Hey so my daffodil dragon brother sent me some red strains, i dont think he actually liked the reds that much but i wanted to grow some and he sent me zamnesias auto purple couskush along with some other beans, nice guy eh? anyway the description on the site is hillarious you should check it out , Zamnesia wanted to send me a starter kit, I told them i wanted their other kind of starter kit ;-) but maybe i should have said yes because the propagator i am using for the first time was broken! oh well, hopefully i get a new one or figure out a way not to loose my babies lol. Let's see how this APCK strain does, i hope it's okay ! man i was nervous on day two and begining of day 3 still no sign of the PCK but it had cracked and even stretched by the end of the day, so it got the transplant at the same time as everyone else. it's my first purple strain so I'm more nervous that usual, and i'm usually nervous... not to mention that germination is the most stressful time. did i mention i'm nervous by nature ? see you next week !
Well i prepared the soil best i could according to the label on biotabs, got some great advice from @biotabsf69, so mixed in basically 25 perlite the rest amended horticultural soil, steamng soil should be the law for growing in soil lol there's a foundation for that 😎 mixed in the mykos 3grams in the soil two grams in the hole directly touching the plug. Three biotabs one on top of the other (was that a mistake?) 5 cm away from the plug, watered with batrex and half strength orgatrex 2L on transplant day and 2L plain water on day 3, the medium is wet now, whoops, going to wait until after the weekend to water i guess, will keep monitoring obviously. sprayed most of day 2 with boom boom spray because i saw f69 do it trying to keep humidity up it's now pretty stable at 63 and 24 which is too humid and not hot enough... oh well. 🚀
VPD : 0.5 at -3C after spray 1.1 at -1 before spray
A bit of water stress but recovering well, just need to keep a cool head and let the plant grow, biotabs pots are drying out almost twice faster than the other pots, probably because of less light mix
Auto cous kush is just coming onto it's own, making plant matter and working overtime in that slightly cold medium. I added aloe as a rooting agent, tried to ph it down to 6.5 using lemon juice (not doing that again lol?) and ended up catching the start of pH shenanigans so i started applying an amino acid spray onto the soil (not the plant!) . using my kelp extract concentrate at 1ml a L in my 250ml spray which means a 1/4ml , that gets sprayed once onto the plant. gonna top off the pots next watering. in soil ppm went from 360 to 420 , vpd went from 0.8 to 1.1.
Couskush was doing really well this week, taking her time to unfurl her nodes, decided against topping her ,was gonna let her run and do simple LST, but i had time, she was on time, and ready, so i pulled her through metal hooks and some times on the leaves, now she's got that skeletal shape i'm looking for to get secondaries as big as mains i hope. the general idea was to expose the space between her nodes and leaves to light to trick the plant into thinking it's grown high enough and divert energy to the secondary branches, which should buff up a lot by week 6. everything is an investment into the future ! she was watered twice with plain water, trying to stick to 3 pints each time. got one spray on day 4 of kelp and cal mag, finished ten days of amino spray on day 5, and she'll probably get another 3 pints by the end of the week. pray she recovers guys ! 🚀
I kinda digging the auto purp couskush, it's basically taken reasonably well to the extreme 90° bend training, bushing out nicely, pushing out these thick indica leaves. Didnt get that much heat stress like the other plants did. It's got pretty heavy apex dominance, ripping out it's metal hook... so yeah developing practically as expected. I watered with a 100PPM co2 enriched water and sprayed with 200PPM co2 enriched ... couldnt really be there to spray the kelp and micro, or feed with micro... but it's basically the picture of health so far, and i'm glad it's doing so well... pushed out its very first micro pistil but i'll wait until week 5 to really call it flowering - hope that's okay? anyway suggestions and constructive input is welcome. Next week is gonna be fun to read along, so jump in now and join me on the auto purp couskush journey lol ! 🚀
Now it gets interesting! the couskush took to training as well as you can expect and auto to take to 90° bend training, it's bushing out nicely although highly apex dominant. It's pushing out thick leaves and loads of pre flowers and flowers. Sprayed it once with micro and kelp but i eyeballed the micro and it was too much so there's residue everywhere... I'm probably going to have to clean each leaf one by one with a moist paper towel, but that's a problem for future bulbi lol watered it with some co2 and also with a mix of micro and beneficials 2g each of the micro and 5grams each of the spores for 2L of water, of which i only use 1.5L that's three pints. I raised the pot slightly using a bakers tray, getting that airflow in. It's finally getting interesting now, so i'll be doing my best to get some nice pictures in. Comments and suggestions welcome ! drop me a message ! 🚀
Hey hey hey, welcome back, just updating this purpcouskush ! So it's awesome to see some purps coming in on the flowers, but it's really hard to get good pics of this plant so i hope you can tell. I'm actually really happy with this grow and how these gens are coming along, but I will say that this plant is HIGHLY apex dominant. So much so it's to the point where there's not (yet?) much action happening on the secondary colas , it's mostly on the main cola which is shaded by a thick canopy of fan leaves making hard to see what's going on under there. Seems like the main cola has plenty of flower nodes though and the spacing is such it's still stretching and filling out. Really interesting process seeing the color come through the base of the flowers but not really "bleeding" onto the leaves at all, staying on the buds and giving an adorable pink hue. Love this experience. Thanks @PharmaZ 🙏, really i think it's even a better growing experience growing seeds sent by another grower 🚀 .
i'm really loving seeing the purps my first time in my life, i totally runted her with the LST, it was late or anything, but she didnt like it at all lol, godaamit now she looks like someone knocked over the "s" of the holliwoods sign ... anyway , still the picture of health, in fact i wonder if she's not hungry, her buds are thicker than my thumb on her main so i just might make her a biotabs PK feed just too keep her purps purnurpleing. Might as well, she's purpling all over now, i like watching it happen day by day, but this week unfortunately tough to do that, wtered her once with 4 pints plain water, and once with 3 pints 0.75 g/L dry humic acid , meant to put 1.5g/L lol what a dits. sprayed with micro a few times and micro + kelp once.
This week is a plain water week, just "bulking up" for a runted purp , spraying daily at daybreak with 10 days of calmagsulfur spray upped to 5 g/L which is 1G per 200ml spray bottle i have here. Purpling is getting more pronounced as some green remains on the sugar leaves. I dont hate the bud structure so far, just trying my best to make sure it has light hitting it on it's leaves. Buds are wider than the size of my thumb but i noticed the humic acid from last time slightly burned the leaf tips just a tiny bit more so I'm holding out on the PK until next week. 🚀
Decent week for the plant I runted. Feel bad for it, but it's getting think, it's purple and it's covered in trichomes. Only problem is the side branching and it's in the shade from the towering six shooters. Anyway fed it twice with 3 pints of water one of those times with micro 2g/L then set up the auto pots before my trip. I'm guessing I'mm give it the pk tea when i get back. Really want the runt to be a fat runt you know? the flowers are still getting fatter, i've not checked the trichomes yet, if I get the chance before I leave I'll do my best. Who knows what will happen. I like the bud structure much like the dos si dos actually ! thanks pharma !
So PCK's journey came to end at day 74 from the start, trichomes all cloudy, very few amber, no clears. She really smells like sour lemons, her leaves were nice and indica fat , some wierdly shaped leaves from the lack of light. Hope to get 35gs from her main head, her flowers are thick and crisp, like dense when i squeeze. choped her down she was so short i hung her whole. Will update when i put her in jars ! see you then ! 🚀
This one i runted : i stretched because of my lamp to plant distance, so i anchored it and LST'ed, bad idea ! Next time I'll let her grow. She grew very well, no maintenance or special attention necessary. She didnt really mind extra N, or the lack of micro. Her rootball isnt that big i'm pretty sure you can throw these into 2 gallon pots no problem. Without my mistakes you can fit a fair few pots and pull maybe 50 grams and get a pound out of a 4x4... snow white ash, pretty dense bud actually, not that many sugar leaves to trim. She grew out strong from the start then tappered off as she stretched and got LST'ed and overtaken by her neihbour a huge SIX SHOOTER. She started pushing out fat indica leaves pretty early, then grew into your typical on shoot plant with a few side colas, that grew even smaller little branches. The flower structure itself is quite a sight, not sure I've really given it justice this time around with the camera. You saw the color creep in through the veins not "splotchy" like the FBT5. Ended up with gorgeous bud, but not really a huge Q. Still though amazing taste and high, very intense head buzz, really zonks you out for like an hour and a half. not bad for something that tastes this nice ! 🚀0000
