The white russian strain is incredibly sweet smelling with a fruity taste when vaped When smoked the sweetness is still there without the fruity flavor but very smooth πŸ˜› A real head stone with a distinct buzz not quite dizziness but close that mellows down to a relaxed yet energenic Feeling 😎 I would class this as a daytime smoke. Now for the jack herer... There is a lot written about this particular strain and how good it is etc etc and now after trying it I can fully understand the hype. This stuff is potent!! I smoked 3 cones with a normal bong and had a mini blackout πŸ˜† for a few seconds before my mind caught up with real time πŸ˜‚ or so it seemed at the time. The flavour is of an intense piney skunky menthol type and the smell is sweet and piney Incredibly smooth to smoke and really knocks my sock's off Definately not recommended before bed as you will probably be up all night thinking about anything and everything πŸ˜…

Excellent stuff the grow fast is dynamite however soil growers keep in mind that the organic variety will lower the ph a fair bit The Go green is ideal for keeping on top of nutrient deficiencies by avoiding them altogether
Monsta Bud does exactly what is say's it does , makes monster bud's The Ozi tonic is used in the last two weeks of flowering prior to flushing
I use the ryzo fuel to promote a strong root ball in the plant's early stages of life. The silica is used to give the plant more vigor and also helps with dealing with stress
The use of ph up was necessary due to the grow nutrient dropping the ph too low

This grow took nearly 6 months of my Time , patience and really tested my skills as a gardener. However I loved every stage of it πŸ˜€ I am proud of achieving my goal of over half a pound of sticky buds plus a lot of usable trim I am happy with how things turned out and very thankful to all those who helped along the way One day (hopefully soon ) Australia will decriminilise growing weed and I can really test my skills without the need to hide plants in not so sunny locations which would dramatically increase yields πŸ˜€ Until then I will continue my guerilla tactics and give the law the finger πŸ‘† #### SMOKE UPDATE 23/5/19 ##### The buds have been curing in mason jars with 62% boveda packs for a few weeks now and boy the smell seems to slowly be getting more intense. The taste has improved immensely as there is now none of that uncured weed aftertaste I was getting before Love the White russian as a chill smoke but the jack herer get's the thumbs up from me as my fave smoke out of the two. UPDATE 8th June 2019 ################ I added some pictures of fully cured bud THe flavour profile has developed perfectly and I enjoy smoking this weed as an early morning hit whilst walking the dog It burns a lot crisper now it's cured and leaves no black ash whatsoever Loving it!!!!!!!!!! ******************************* πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ It seems to me and plenty of other growers on here that reward should only be given where reward is due Some of the the last few diary of the month competitions have awarded growers that were lucky to have got half an ounce of useable material and basically showed no real talent other than being able to write a whole lot of self promoting dribble and take a 1000 pictures. whilst diaries lose that had grows of multiple ounces of high quality well grown and perfectly trimmed cannabis. Any way that's my rant over I don't expect to win and I won't care when I don't

How will I know when I can safely stop tucking the branches under the net without comprimising potential yields,I have never done anything like this before so overall how is it looking. 😬

Your friend told you to keep an eye on pre flowering and he is roght because it will be the right time to stop tucking your branches as the plant will begin her stretch which is the phase when she's starting to get taller so if every holes of the nets are filled it will be all right. So the answer is : when you will see the 1st pistils 😊 . THE overall look nice but you could have tuck the branches a bit more ✌️🏼

Hey brother, looking good there! I would suggest to remove all the very lower leafs and bud site,.. in order to redirect flowering hormones towards the tops, mid section or the plants. This will ensure a larger denser yield of quality bud, as oppose to some popcorn air buds from below. Regarding defoliation... I'd ensure the stretch has fully halted... then look to remove any large fan leaves directly covering bud sites, for starts. Then work your way down the stems taking away any large fan leaves that seem to be in dark cramped conditions, or impeding bud site light penetration. Take before and after pics, you should definitely see a visible difference after your done. And have a pile of fan leaves to decompose! Of course don't go overboard...but make this defoliation practice purposeful... (allowing more light and air to reach lower mid buds)... check out a grower on here called Takeshy, refer to his gorilla zkittlez grow, he's got some pics of a before and after defoliation, to give you a visual. Hope this helps Regards Bigface

A big enemy for outdoors is high humidity and rain over a long time into dense buds. I dont know how much the Rh is in your country, or if its raining for a week and having high rh near the end of grow. In northern europe its a big problem, Most time iam not able to let them grow as long as they need to, and have to harvest ealier because the danger of mold is very high around september , when all buds are big and nice

@Mrs_Larimar, sticky tape (don't even bother with the more expensive stuff, just use cheap masking tape, maybe colour it with some turmeric if it's not yellow enough) definitely works for decreasing fungus gnat populations, some sugar traps near that too. I also used some custom "pesticide" (on the soil, more as an aromatic or olfactory deterrent than anything) made from a variety of plants I've got growing here or have at my disposal and dumped a bunch of river sand over the top soil. Fungus gnat infestation pretty much annihilated in a few days. All of those things I think contributed to some extent to getting rid of the gnats. Caterpillars are probably worse though (if you're dealing with a bunch of large plants), they'll eat straight through flowers and get like 10x larger in a day, and their droppings (while technically worm castings and maybe even full of thc) promotes fungus of course. It doesn't help if they're the fcking same colour as the plants and tend to only be easily visible and active at night. I also leave predators mostly, yeah, even try to attract them. Spiders, wasps, ladybugs, mantis, etc. Since my plants have been flowering for a while I don't spray at all. When they get excessively wet, shaking them helps too. Which I'd actually recommend people to do fairly often (outdoors) as it dislodges a bunch of (caterpillar, etc) crap and debris, clears water (in case of fungus worries) and probably acts like very low stress training, which could strengthen the plant a bit. *Sidenote: I tried a bunch of stuff directly on caterpillars and NONE of it worked, pure vinegar, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, hydrogen peroxide, etc. Absolutely no effect on the caterpillar so I wouldn't even bother trying to use sprays or something on them (those light green caterpillars, I forget the name), they are incredibly tough, eat any of that stuff and just shit it out within a minute or so. The sprays and pesticides might however have a better effect on deterring the moths and killing eggs though. I can't say, too noob to know that.

@@@Ssomeguy,ok thy good to know, but i dont spray it, i give it in the waterings...... but i overthink that now.......The best results i get with a combination of predatores, sticky traps and neem in the vegetation

@Mrs_Larimar, I've had some issues resulting from exactly that, like a week's worth of rain, constantly. The combination of cool, dark and humid does no good unless it's for a short time. Fungus gnat infestations, caterpillars, a tiny bit of mould, ants farming scales and larvae and shit, etc. But I have learned a lot. *BTW, call me crazy, but I noticed something about caterpillars and the most recommended pesticides which is quite ironic. And I'll explain why I avoid it (BT). BT was initially sourced from caterpillars/moths (popularized right after ww2). BT (modified) kills bees, spiders, wasps (notice that much of these are caterpillar and moth predators) and a number of other things such as beneficial nematodes, microbes (unless I'm horribly mistaken). Yet, it's recommended as an "organic" agent against caterpillars/moths. Bayer/Monsanto logic right there, and I ain't buying.

@DILLIGAF, It’s a pleasant dream! - I haven’t grown autos so I can’t truly speak to the matter, but don’t they finish before ever reaching that size? Is Jack auto or photo? You’re outdoors, so that helps yield multi fold compared to indoors. But it’s tough to get a half pound from photos that live for seven months. Abundant Aussie sunshine I’m guessing yields huge if you get started early. Best wishes for a great harvest, mate! I’m excited here as it’s the ideal time to plant outdoors. I tossed 600 seeds around DC Saturday. Gonna grow it everywhere! No one will be able to stop it!

Hey bro so about the flowering nutrient it's common to continue to give some grow nutrients during the 2 first weeks of flowering as it is the stret h phase and the plant will need plenty of nitrogen to makes new stems. However the flowering nutrition always provide some nitrogen so what you could do is to use the grow nuts during the 1st week then during then second use a mix of both to continue with the flowering only from week 3. But also keep an eye on the plant , as soon as you can see that she is stop growing vertically you can switch whatever the week is 😊😜

@OutForReal, Hi mate it absolutely seems to be helping as I have not seen any signs of insect attack or mites etc and it's also a natural source of silica for the plants root system so very happy with the results so far. I am being fairly frugal with the watering on these girls as i want to keep the environment as dry as possible to combat mold because the pots are below ground level. I haven;t noticed any sign of stress as the days have been cooler latelyπŸ˜€

@DILLIGAF, Wow it's been 4weeks since our last talk bro , sorry I wasn't around ! Your plants are looking great now , do you think that diatomaceus heart did help ?
DILLIGAF
DILLIGAF
@OutForReal, hi mate nah it's diatomaceous earth mixed with H2O and I gave one last foliar spray while I had the chance. I have been using it successfully on my vegie garden for years to deter bugs and the pesky wildlife from having a chew on my plants... seems to work really well for the vegetables so I am using on the weed too. Do you think I may need to remove some foliage at some stage ? Cheers

How is it looking friends ???????????? 4 weeks into flowering
Ssomeguy
Ssomeguy
@DILLIGAF, They're looking healthy. Though I'm a newbie, I've noticed that my plants (random bagseeds) just keep on layering the flowers (some at 9-10 weeks flowering and still going), so essentially it's like the inner parts are being cured so slightly lower THC (not significantly, considering the light exposure is low) but higher CBD/CBN, and the outer parts more THC (from my understanding). Another thing to consider there, as my plants are still bulking significantly and some are kinda bendy due to weight now. *Edit, sorry, didn't notice your mention of DE, which I've also used quite a bit of.

Personally I've also had some issues with heat and lack of sunlight, weather in general. Like peak temperatures for my plants exceed 30 degrees celsius normally, but they're obscured by walls, tall trees, experienced winds that have knocked over plants in 20l pots, torrential rain for like a week, etc. For light, simplest (apparently) thing was to use some reflective surfaces around them (in this case, white walls and white pots which helps reduce the pot heat too), which definitely seems to have helped for light...but, since that, it's also why peak temperatures can reach more than 40 degrees celsius almost daily for the ones not in pots, so it's a bit of a tradeoff (though I'm pretty sure it keeps a lot of pests away too). It does seem like it was worth it though and it's a nice indicator of how tough the plants are. For an example (21+ weeks, some plants approaching 4m, with about 60cm space around them, and barely flowering): https://growdiaries.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com/static/post/photo/19262/917998_african-bagseedscustomsativa.jpg

@DILLIGAF, yeah I've been using similar amounts of molasses and some other carbs, I've given my plants like bottlebrush and hibiscus teas too. (oils for microbes, some sugars and terpenes) and that combination smells absolutely incredible. It's like, the sweetest smelling stuff (in a good way) you can find.
DILLIGAF
DILLIGAF
@@@Ssomeguy, yes I added some mollasses to my last feed I used about 2 spoonfuls per 9 litre watering can .. mix well then add the 10mls of monsta bud mix again and ph to 6.3ish
Ssomeguy
Ssomeguy
@DILLIGAF, I can't quite remember, but did you add molasses recently? Yeah for support, another scrog layer would probably work, unfortunately it's a bit inconvenient considering circumstances for me.

Its atunnel you grow into=? with opened endings=?. always let the endings open to give them airflow. I would pick away the small leaves in the bottom area and the tiny branches. Then you can tuck away all the leaves who block the light to the flowers, ( no so many because they get light from around). Iam no friend of heavy defoilationg and lollipoiing outdoor grows. There is no need to. You can take away all leaves you think blocking the light to the buds. Happy outdoor growing!!

@Mrs_Larimar, you have a fair point about heavy defoliation outdoors, as the sun comes from many angles, naturally allowing better light penetration to bud sites, than regular indoor lights hanging above canopy. Although a bushy plant is a bushy plant and will sure benefit from some defoliation to allow better air flow and space for buds to develop.

@DILLIGAF your plan to bring in that electric fan is sound, will help to keep humidity down and provide better circulation, preventing hotspots, and stale air pockets within the grow space. Helping you to keep late flower mould at bay, mould spores hate breezy conditions as they cannot settle.. although in Oz I'm sure it's going to be pretty dry and arid conditions even come late summer? I'd be in Ganga heaven if I had opportunity to utilise the great Aussie β˜€οΈ on my girls. Can't wait to see how these come along in the forthcoming weeks Regards Bigface
