Welcome to my Summer Grow which is probably a little ambitious considering this is only my second ever grow 😄 However Here we go.... The plan is to conceal 3 fully grown plants by making them hard to notice with a scog net. The strains are from YANTRA Seeds Australia 1 white russian aka ( white widow x Ak47) and 2 jack herer I will be entering this in the diary of the month contest when it's finished even tho it has two strains Because in november 2018 a diary with 42 different strains entered and won a place in that months DOM contest. I dug a large hole roughly 5 by 3 foot and aprox 4 feet deep, into which the fabric pots with plants will be placed into the hole with a string net and then covered with a 3 metre long protective mini polytunnel as we get a fair whack of cold and wet Autumn weather here in Southern Australia

The seedling itself doesn't need nutrients at this stage however the roots do So I add some Cyco ryzo to the water in the mini dwc bucket. This method really help's accelerate the plant's rootball before I plant into the grow out pot. One of the AK47/WW seedlings is a freak instead of nodes and leaves etc this plant is just a stem with a leaf growing straight out of the top 😆

It is about week 4 or 5 of veg and as you can see I have topped them to help create the plant structure I need for a properly grown Scrog. The plants are clearly liking the organic grow fast stuff Im using along with a home made worm tea and mollasses mix That is bubbled for 3 days then applied to the foliage I have a very healthy worm farm that produces around 60 litres of worm tea a fortnite 👌👍👊

The plants are tall enough to go into the hole now I have them growing some nice branches and will begin tucking immediately Our summer is ramping up now with some hot weather forecast Temps can and do hit the 40 degree celcius during summer here but I'm hoping that by having the pots below ground it should help keep the roots cooler during the heat of the day

Starting to really grow now and I find I need to tuck and tie branches down to create the filled screen effect I really enjoy this style of growing and I will definately do it again but maybe with a more indica dominant strain as I am now a bit worried about the stretch

we are now up to date 3rd of Feb 2019 , My mate who has been growing for years told me today to start looking for preflowers as His crop's usually start to flower early to mid feb so hopefully the fun will begin soon. After advice from another gd member spinner caribean I have kept trying to fill the screen before flowering so far so good with only a cpl of small spots left vacant

Your friend told you to keep an eye on pre flowering and he is roght because it will be the right time to stop tucking your branches as the plant will begin her stretch which is the phase when she's starting to get taller so if every holes of the nets are filled it will be all right. So the answer is : when you will see the 1st pistils 😊 . THE overall look nice but you could have tuck the branches a bit more ✌️🏼

Update my question answered thanks again spinner caribbean... will give one more feed of the grow fast organic nutrients from professors nutrients then switch to ozi magic monsta bud and ozi tonic

Ok so the girls are stretching a bit with some of the shoots going over 30cm in height above the net. I"m not sure what to do or if I even need to do anything?? Otherwise plants look super healthy I gave a feed of half strength grow nutes then another feed of half strength flowering nutes and will start giving only flowering nutes soon.

I am hoping the stretch is almost over and the real flowering growth begins.......... Things are looking pretty dense vegetative wise .... Should I consider removing any foliage or should I leave them for another week and re assess the situation then??.....................

Overdrive!!!! the main stems are over 60cm high towards the back and the foliage under them & across the net is pretty dense. I sprayed my special mix of diatomaceous earth , bac foliar spray and water for the final time and will be moving an electric fan into the area soon. My only worry is wether I should remove a lot of the leaf that doesn't get a lot of light but if I do will it stress my plants or hurt the final yield ???

Looking at the above pictures Should I remove some of the leaves to get more air circulation and light in ??? And if so which leaves and how much should I remove at this stage?? Thankyou 👍👊

Hey brother, looking good there! I would suggest to remove all the very lower leafs and bud site,.. in order to redirect flowering hormones towards the tops, mid section or the plants. This will ensure a larger denser yield of quality bud, as oppose to some popcorn air buds from below. Regarding defoliation... I'd ensure the stretch has fully halted... then look to remove any large fan leaves directly covering bud sites, for starts. Then work your way down the stems taking away any large fan leaves that seem to be in dark cramped conditions, or impeding bud site light penetration. Take before and after pics, you should definitely see a visible difference after your done. And have a pile of fan leaves to decompose! Of course don't go overboard...but make this defoliation practice purposeful... (allowing more light and air to reach lower mid buds)... check out a grower on here called Takeshy, refer to his gorilla zkittlez grow, he's got some pics of a before and after defoliation, to give you a visual. Hope this helps Regards Bigface

I put the electric fan in the polytunnel on thursday all seems to be going well (Fingers crossed). Due to recent wet weather I have cut right down on watering so that the grow area doesn't become too damp. please ignore the white residue on the leaves it is not mildew but diatomceous earth to discourage bugs

Keeping my fingers crossed as everything seems ok to me Except the unfortunate but unpreventable lack of full sunlight 😁 I'm thinking that I will have to allow an extra 2 weeks or more to the flowering time to make up for it?????? I stripped a heap of the lowest leaves last week and the girls didn't seem to miss a beat. 😀 They are drinking a fair bit of nutrient enriched water ph'd to 6.3, but keeping mold issues in mind I only give them the feeding after the sun has well and truly risen and never late in the day so that the plants are never in an over moist environment. I am trying really hard with this grow as it is going to be my medicinal supply for several months 🙏 See ya next week 😃 (the white residue on the leaves is diatomaceus earth to repel bugs and insects )

Another week passes by and I am noticing a lot of good things happening. Mainly the stickiness and aroma coming from the buds 😋 The white russian has a very nice sweet fruity smell whilst the jack herer has a tangy pine o clean smell that is far from unpleasant 😁 I will need to keep a close on on the humidity from now on as the buds get denser and stickier

Wow six weeks in already!! The girls are smelling incredible and are covered in sticky trichomes Some of the branches are starting to slightly bend so I will need to think about installing the second net for support. They are drinking everything I give them at the moment which is aprox 18 litres each plant each week or thereabouts. 👌

The buds are fattening nicely .. so nicely infact that two of the biggest cola's bent under thier own weight before I could add the second net ( which is now in place. ). Luckily the bent branches did not snap and have developed a knuckle similiar to when you hst a branch. Some of the buds have been pollinated so I'm suspecting a rogue set of ball's have sprung up somewhere 😆 I am not stressed as I will have some seed for future grow's. 😎 The AK47 X White widow smells sweet and skunky and is reasonably sticky, however the Jack herer buds smell piney , tangy and fruity and are already incredibly sticky with lots of trichome development 😋 Please tell me how you all think this grow is going and thankyou for taking the time to read this Peace and the right to grow for everyone 👊

The Jack herer buds seem to be almost at thier peak with the pistils changing colour rapidly and trichomes are all clouded. The white russian buds are still producing white pistils and a few clear trichomes remain. We had nearly a full week of favorable weather here however today (13/4) There is a low pressure system approching with rain forecast over the next few days atleast so the poly tent has been has been zipped up and the fan turned on full to keep the humidity down. Until next week #OneLove 😀

week 9 of flowering was a test of my new learned skills and my patience to wait it out. We had 5 days of drizzly damp weather followed by two days of bloody cold temps 😨 Yesterday 19th april was the worst with 40mm of rain overnight then a hail storm followed by temps around 5 celcius In between showers I checked the plants and noticed one bud had early signs of bud rot so immediately cut it off and started the final flush with plain water and a tiny bit of mollasses. I posted a question regarding wether I should harvest the thicker buds now or wait it out but so far that question remains unanswered. So my decision is to wait and see what the next few days do weatherwise if it continues being wet I will harvest if the sun comes back out for a few days I will let them mature another week to 10 days .......................................... To be continued

10 weeks today and I have chopped them down 😀 The jack herer has about 30% amber trichomes and the white russian about 10% amber. The smell coming from the drying room is incredible!! 😻😍😀 I stripped everything down in the grow area and will probably use the area to prepare some super soil for next spring The buds will get a weeks drying and a trim so expect a harvest report next week 👌 I can't wait to smoke some of this stuff and blast off 😅

This grow took nearly 6 months of my Time , patience and really tested my skills as a gardener. However I loved every stage of it 😀 I am proud of achieving my goal of over half a pound of sticky buds plus a lot of usable trim I am happy with how things turned out and very thankful to all those who helped along the way One day (hopefully soon ) Australia will decriminilise growing weed and I can really test my skills without the need to hide plants in not so sunny locations which would dramatically increase yields 😀 Until then I will continue my guerilla tactics and give the law the finger 👆 #### SMOKE UPDATE 23/5/19 ##### The buds have been curing in mason jars with 62% boveda packs for a few weeks now and boy the smell seems to slowly be getting more intense. The taste has improved immensely as there is now none of that uncured weed aftertaste I was getting before Love the White russian as a chill smoke but the jack herer get's the thumbs up from me as my fave smoke out of the two. UPDATE 8th June 2019 ################ I added some pictures of fully cured bud THe flavour profile has developed perfectly and I enjoy smoking this weed as an early morning hit whilst walking the dog It burns a lot crisper now it's cured and leaves no black ash whatsoever Loving it!!!!!!!!!! ******************************* 💪💪 It seems to me and plenty of other growers on here that reward should only be given where reward is due Some of the the last few diary of the month competitions have awarded growers that were lucky to have got half an ounce of useable material and basically showed no real talent other than being able to write a whole lot of self promoting dribble and take a 1000 pictures. whilst diaries lose that had grows of multiple ounces of high quality well grown and perfectly trimmed cannabis. Any way that's my rant over I don't expect to win and I won't care when I don't
