In week two, quite a bit happened here. In general, the plants are still growing very well. I topped all the plants over the course of the week, and they have tolerated it well. After topping, I always use Boomboomspray from Biotabs to reduce stress. This has always worked well for me so far.
I also started adding BioHeaven and ActiVera to every second watering. I water daily in small amounts. At the beginning of the week with a spray bottle, then as usual.
In terms of light intensity, this week I had around 300 PPFD, which works quite well. I gradually increased the VPD from 0.6 to 0.8 over the week, and my temperature level during the day averages 25 degrees.
The CO2 level is, as usual, very high without any intervention. I currently run my exhaust fan constantly at the lowest level to always have a slight air exchange. My intake fan also blows fresh air under the grid where the plants are standing every half hour for 3 minutes.
I built a small height-adjustable stand for the remaining 9th plant, but for now, I still leave it in the less intense light areas to avoid burning it. This will be a fun project that is already starting quite cool. I wanted to trim for a manifold, but the dear lady has developed two new shoots at the neatly topped cut. I have never experienced this before. I will let her grow a bit and see what comes of it.
It's a bit of a shame that the strength of the plants is uneven. Two specimens are a bit weaker on their feet compared to the rest, but the growth, in general, is fairly even. I plan to continue training with LST in the coming weeks. I don’t think I will top them a second time.
So far, everything looks good. I have some concerns about the growth height of the strain, hence the topping, among other things. I'm trying to keep them under 80cm, otherwise, it would be too close to the light for me.Let's see how strong the stretch turns out to be, but I am a bit skeptical and hope it goes well. I am already looking forward to the further training of the plants in the coming weeks. I think the whole thing has potential. 🙂
