@Psilocubensis, Sure bro, this afternoon I will upload a photo so you can see the roots. They are still inside the tank, I hope they have not suffered after the cut, since they have gone on Sunday without a water pump or anything, but they will help you to get an idea of the size.
I am very happy with the DWC in 55L although I have observed several things that I will consider in the next crop.
The first is that you will need a fairly long growth period if you want to take full advantage of the tank's capacity. In my case, Royal AK has had 5 weeks of growth and has occupied what I estimate will be 60/70% of the tank. Note that this variety completely stopped the development of its roots as soon as it entered the flowering phase. Perhaps another variety would have taken more space during flowering.
An advantage that I have observed is that being a large enough tank it is more difficult to produce imbalances in the PH or TDS of the water, keeping it quite stable and making the job much easier.
In conclusion, if you can afford a long enough growth I am sure you will get very good results. For my next crop, which will start soon, I will give the plants 7/8 weeks of growth using these same tanks.
If your intention is to make a crop that lasts less time maybe you should consider using smaller tanks since you will not have enough time to take advantage of the 55L ones.
The original idea was to obtain 4 large plants that filled the tent, but for reasons external to the grow i had to reduce the growth stage to achieve the harvest as soon as possible, leaving plants too small for these tanks.
In short, if you have enough time I recommend them a lot, you will take away a lot of work and the plants will have a lot of space to develop.
