Well it's been an adventure moving the ladies into their new home as well as the rest of the family into theirs. I've been waiting for a good location for too long so I decided to get going without much planning. Feb 1st popped 1 Dinafem Blue Cheese Auto, 3 Sweet Seeds Cream Mandarine Auto, and 4 Ripper Seeds Cookies x White Widow. The theme of this grow is Budget/Macgyver. I started by germinating in papertowel using a chimney pipe/closet location that maintained heat pretty well overnight. Outdoor temps are 18 Celsius nights are 10. So I decided to get an 80 dollar 100x100x200 grow tent. I had some 300watt LEDs lying around so for all intensive purposes this will be the "Safe place" to vegg out Moms with photoperiod strains as well as prepare autos for an early outside harvest experiment. I want to show people you can grow quality medicine with a decent yield with very little supplies. I've had experience with the Blue Cheese Auto strain from Dinafem and I'm hoping I get a giant pheno like my last grow. This will be my first experience with Sweet Seeds and Ripper Seeds. I plan on popping 3 more Ripper Jack Herer x NY Diesel. I wanted to grab a few of their limited lines once again to prove that you CAN save money and still grow great buds. Update Feb. 8th---This grow will probably be split up into individuals for scientific purposes ;) however I will keep updating the general layout as it evolves. Popped 4 more Sweet Seeds from an auto mix. I'm excited to see if anyone can identify when flowering comes around. Much love.

Hi @starphish! Don't move these out yet, it's too cold, this will lead to slow growth and stunted plants for the whole run. Autos are very sensitive to EVERYTHING. Plus, they're too young for transplantation, you will probably kill them. Keep them inside for a few weeks, within good containers such as AirPots/SmartPots (11L/3gal). They will appreciate the comfort of your tent for a good vegetative stage, before having to live into the outdoor wildness 😆 Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

Everything seems to be stabilizing except for the poor late blooming Sweet Cream Mandarine Auto. She's stunted and hurt. Hand watering the Autos directly into their 5 gallon containers is a tedious business. I'm mainly going on intuition. Temperatures outside are still too cool so I'm very glad I'm letting these ladies hang out in the tent for as long as possible. That's it too because I popped too many beans (not possible) and in a month I will be forced to through some outside. Overall I'm excited to see what happens. My photoperiod Ripper Cookies x Widow are doing well uniformly which is always exciting. I haven't had a chance to do Photoperiod in a while. The new round of Sweet Seeds have rooted, 3 more from an Auto Mix. I'm going to split diaries as soon as I have enough content. I've decided I have room for 3 monster (2m tall) photo periods outside. Any strain suggestions for Medi climate? I found 300 L smart pots at my local store.

This week saw steady growth with temps finally warming up outside. I shouldn't have to conduct the insane orchestra I maintaining decent temps in my room. yes I'm broke. I'll list all the weird $ saving tricks, and we can all decide at the end which weren't worth it. nevertheless I'm determined to create a successful perpetual grow as well as the pheno hunt my photoperiods. Getting ready to pop 3 Jack 47 and a Double Glock from Ripper seeds. The goals is to have sufficient genetics and clones to play with outside. But enough about me. My question is directed towards the clawing. All my autos seem affected and I can't figure out if my ninja watering into 5 gallon containers or slightly cold start and night temps might be causing it? love and light to all

I'm super happy with the Blue Cheese Auto. She seems to show the most vigor. My Sweet seeds Cream mandarines have been suffering. I think they either we're super stunted from initial cooler temps or the batch was just off. I have a couple not shown that are younger so I will wait and compare. I have been taking advantage of the free sun and 24 degree days. The White Cookies from ripper is doing great. 3 phenos from 4 seeds. two short bushy indicas, a middle, and a big fast more sativa leaf. I will post more pics and zoom in a bit later. somewhat offgrid here with spotty comms. I'm going to pull clones from white cookies for outdoor prep. I also have 3 Jack Diesel from Ripper starting week 1. UPDATE: Currently using 3 % Hydrogen Peroxide at 1:4 ratio with water twice a week to fight FUNGUS GNATS. I've dealt with these bastards before without understanding their short yet productive little lives. I'm confident I can rid them in less than 10 days with my current regiment. The Autos did great in air pots but my White Cookies by ripper are suffering some yellow tip new growth and I checked and they filled a 7 L pot with healthy white roots in less than 20 days. I haven't been perfect with my watering and I think I may have been excessive with the photoperiod girls hence....gnats. I'll post pictures soon of damaged leaves and also a grub if i can find one on the bottom so that others may learn about these horrid little creatures and how to prevent them from ever taking interest in your prized ladies ;)

Hey there fungus gnats are such a pain...even though the adults don't actually do any damage, they still spawn the larvae that reek havoc. If you hung some sticky traps above the plants that'll catch the adults and some at soil level may catch those starting to fly. Neem oil kicks butt at the soil level especially if you spray a couple times about 3 days apart. A light top dressing of diatomaceous earth will get them and add silica to your plants. Those are the organic ones i know. The hydrogen peroxide spray is good too especially because it's usually already in the cupboard. Do equal parts of Distilled water(not tap or rain water) and peroxide and spray it similarly to the neem, soak the top soil, base of the plant and bottom leaves and repeat several days later. I think it's best to spray it close to lights out, I believe sometimes the light and the spray can cause leaf bleaching. Good luck with the battle. ✌️

The last week or so has been an epic battle with the dreaded fungus gnats. Although by no means gone gone, they are responding well to the peroxide treatment (by responding well I mean dying in mass) I think the adults are getting bored outside in the heat but I still notice a few when I transfer outside mornings. Electricity has been spotty so I've been running my LEDS from in the evening/night and using the Sun during the warmer part of the day south facing slope. It's a lot of work but at the moment I have the energy. I guess it's a hybrid indoor/outdoor until I break up the individual plants. At least that seems to be the trend on here and who dosen't like prizes? Back to plants. I decided to try a tiny bit of Biobloom with the autos that are beginning flowering. I'm going to go super slow and check it out. I haven't had to add anything before.... if starting with a large enough bit of quality substrate. The GSC/WW Ripper aren't pictured but they are doing well and I will update soon on my experiment. 1 FIMed, 1 Topped , 1 Super Crop, and one left alone. I'll post photos of the photoperiod plants soon. The Jack Diesels from Ripper is now two weeks as well.Goals this next week are taking clones of the GSC/WW from ripper with the intent of flipping the mom's as soon as possible. Also looking for more outdoor/xxl geared autos for summer. I have some Amnesia Haze XXL from dinafem but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for all the comments and support. It's pretty fun relarning everything on this format. Information=POWERful herb :)

Will update in detail when computer charges. SPANNABIS 2019 was insane so much love. IMm excited to pop some freebies for the official outdoor auto season round 1.5. Picked up some northern lights auto by rqs and pineapple express by fastbudz. This hybrid winter grow has been a lot of work but its starting to feel worth it as the mothers multiply and autos fatten up. Gnats are disrupted and not causing issues but not completely gone. Today is transplant day for photo periods and investing in white paint or containers. Will write more but had to check in. Biggest news is through a translation error my cream mandarines are actually from an auto mix pack. With 6 total in various stages it eill be interesting trying to nail down genetics. At least there will be a healthy variety. 😉

If anyone wants to jump in and identify the Sweet Seeds Auto strains as they develop, I'll raffle some Spannabis Swag off to the winners ;) I'll label the photos and keep track of individuals for you. ;) I'm very happy with this winter experiment bumper crop. That being said it's important to address several key mistakes I made. Everywhere you grow will be different. Sounds simple but when it comes to sourcing supplies or even energy in off-grid situations. Planning is important, however, as I've shown not necessary to grow your own medicine. That's a fancy way to say I started too early without the necessary capital or systems to provide optimal veg conditions. This was remedied by quickly grabbing a tent for cold temps and a lot of manual labor hauling plants around. We are now reaching the first of 2 perfect cycles outdoor conditions for autos. I'm spoiling these ladies by bringing them under the 600 LED at night and outside 8 hrs direct sun exposure with warm days. I've been beyond capacity in my tent from the beginning which has given me ample time to top/fim, and super crop the photo periods. The cookiesXwhite widow from ripper are ready for transplant. 2/3 went from 7L to 11L pots. They are so damn healthy and stable/I've missed photoperiod strains but I have problems with instant gratification haha. I'm extremely curious to see what yields will be based on the extra sunlight/LED combo and 3x container size from last grow.

UPDATE: Gnat free is the way to be. After about 10 days of letting the top 2 in of soil dry out and treating with 1:4 hydrogen peroxide spray. I also incorporated a pinch of cinnamon to the top layer to discourage adults from laying eggs. I think if I didn't have the option to go outside , it would have been much more difficult. Although adults tend to stay around their prized fungus and babies, the moderate breeze/warm temps the past weeks has made it inhospitable :) Which means my photoperiod girls can rest in peace during their dark period the first half of the day. Space has become an issue... ;) In the future, I will set myself strict schedules so I don't just go popping all the beans at once. #triggerhappy. I think as you progress through these experiences, it is best to stay open and creative. For example, Did I need to veg my photos for nearly 51 days??? Short answer NO but this allowed me the time to play with different training techniques and see how the CookiesxWhite Widow responded. Stellar. I now have my little bushes ready to be cloned or thrown outside...i'm still debating whether to commit to doing some Light Dep. I've been hauling these things around for months and really don't mind, but I can't imagine I'll have this much time to commit consistantly to shuffling the girls around. In general the Autos are being Autos and doing their thing. I am a bit surprised to see which strains/phenos flowered quicker. I still feel like I am a week or two behind but I will just have to wait and see. I'll post more photos later. Here are some of the Sweet Seed Autos enjoying their morning sunbath. As of right now my #2 Sweet Seeds Auto mix is the fastest/most pungent/defined plant. The others seem to be going a bit slower or just had the unfortunate issue of recieving a 7L pot instead of 19L. The Blue Cheese Auto by Dinafem is almost 3 feet tall, xmas tree style and stacking slowly but surely into her wonderful form I'm so familiar with. I'm hoping to be able to chop in 2 weeks but the girls will tell me when it's time... After reading about autos taking longer. Im going to delay chop as lomg as possible. Im expecting a vary wide diverse harvest window with all the different and unknown varities. Updated photo sorry for cellphone crappy ones :p

I would go with the Durban POison from Dutch passion, she is such a nice and heavy growing Girl. Growtrees and the Foxfarmer(or was it farmerbrett=?) grown her outdoor too. be aware to built her a good corsage, because shes a beast. I would love it to grow her by my own outdoors , but northrn europe is nothing for her. But you got the best Conditions for her. she smells spicy foggy, a little like pastis......

I realized the Blue Cheese Auto is Week 9 whereas the Sweet Seeds Auto Mix have just passed Week 8. This week has been cruising along. Everything is stacking and I flushed yesterday. 1 of 4 sweet sweet seeds should be done in a week or so. The rest will be staggered and the Blue Cheese Auto I'm going to let go as long as possible due to her size....Scope arrives tomorrow which will be fun to play with pics as well as determine the wide harvest window for these ladies. I was really hoping to have some solid smoke before 4/20, however, the cold start/and mixed indoor/outdoor combo seems to be demanding a bit more time from the ladies. I've got nothing but time and sunshine so I'll cool my jets and keep myself from getting scissor happy too soon ;) I'm excited to start a few more diaries and organize them a bit more. The CookiesxWhite Widow and Jack Herer x NY Diesel from Ripper Seeds have been vegging for 50/65 days respectively. I was going to take clones but at this point seeds are abundant and I like the strength provided starting from seed. I plan on transplanting photo periods into 11L containers and flipping 4/7 in my 1mx1mx2m tent and keeping the other 3 to build up for bigger containers outdoors.

I went ahead an harvested the 6 inch little plant and the N deficient. It was sad but hey at least I've had some nice terps to vape while waiting on the others. I've seperated the sweet seeds autos out in the photos if anyone can tell me a strain that would be dope ;). Flushing for the past couple weeks but trichomes are calling for more time on all. Most of all the Blue Cheese. She's going slowly but filling out to be my biggest autoflower to date :) Not anything crazy but near 3 feet tall and a cola that I think will be 14g dry. I'll calculate weights in final with my notes accounting for wet popcorn nugs i'm vaping with a Arizer Desktop Vape. Takes about two min at 250 fahrenheit to dry out the small ones enough to activate cannabinoids. After a terpy tasty water vapor bag it hits like no other. I have to start adjusting my dose because I feel like an adhd kid without meds. Living in the moment. Letting things develop without trying to change too much. I think this grow is extra special because for the first time in 16 years, I'm producing out of necessity and for medical reasons/anxiety/chronic pain. No neighborhood weed guy here so It's really nice to be heading towards self sufficiency:) I'll keep updated on the chop and I'll seperate out the White Cookies into a different journal. They vegged the entire 8 weeks of the autoflowers first part and now they are about a week into flowering triggered by being thrown outside.

Nice having such a variety. I made a few mistakes with a couple plants leading to yields super variable. These plants are especially well adapted to thrive in medi climates. If you purchase this you know you are growing for variety and pleasant surprises. Many great surprises with this batch. I will continue Sweet Seeds as a staple in the garden.

Had to harvest a bit earlier than I wanted but close to 5% amber trichomes. Sadly two plants were ruined by me and came out 7g and 14g dry respectively so out of the remaining three I got some really great plants. Good germination rate. A nice variety of strains and phenos. Letting the Blue Cheese go another two weeks was the best decision i've made. Finally getting those purple blue tones i've seen on other diaries. The buds have swelled to at least 2x their size in a week. This is all expected but well appreciated every time :) The sweet seeds i had to harvest earlier and ideally I wish I could have waited longer with them as well. Started an RQS outdoor auto for the summer I'll get it online soon. Much love and light....Finally I can hit the volcano again :)

Almost ready for week 6 update, installed a small baby gecko inside plot to hunt gnats, he told all the animal friends there's some fungus and gnats and so now cool varities spiders(not mites) are making their home near the plants and even come inside at night to eat. I'm sure this will be one of the weird advantages to an indoor/outdoor set up with photos and autos. It's almost reaching time where I can bump all autos outside and do a full clean and flip photos. I have a million things to do on my list but for today it's all about laying in the sun surrounded by the sweet smells that are forming in the garden.

the clawing is an indication of root problems, most likely the transplant didnt go super fantastic for the seedlings and they're finding their bearings in their new pot, meanwhile in their weakened state the roots have been attacked including by the beneficial microbes meant to protect them. The main issue ? under watering and over watering leading these to not have the best wet cycle. you need to bring up the amount you're watering by 500ml, but keep the number of times you're watering as it is. hope this helps 👊

@Mrs_Larimar, Thanks. I feel like an idiot asking around but I've had cuttings in the past from plants that smelled soley of Anise or Licorice. It was passed around as Lambsbread but whatever the name I will find this magical strain again! The best answer came from the nice dutch girl at the shop who when asked replied, "but isn't that the point that it stinks?" She also informed me of plant counts for medical consumption and regulations for outdoor...so yipee 5 are tolerated outside. Soo glad I have their permission to plant seeds that make organic medicine ;)

hey starphish i decided to answer the question but then i forgot about the aeration part : what i do in the same tent that you have is i have a full 50W box fan pointed straight up at the ceiling of the grow room, it brings the hot air up from the light, cools it then distributes it basically evenly across the room.... i got terrible results with those garbage clip ons and other small fans like that. hope this helps you too man ! 👊

@CRiSPrGrow, bahaha. I took a stroll down the block with the window open, 4th story and it literally looked like the Red Light District in my apt. @Mikey1979, I'll stop learning when I die ;) It's my 7th grow but the first time I'm actually paying attention every step of the way and learning LOADS of stuff I had never thought about or taken for granted. We all start somewhere. Hopefully we all end up in a bathtub full of herbs.

@CRiSPrGrow, Thanks Bulbi, I think you were sensing something before I could even detect. Currently using 3 % Hydrogen Peroxide at 1:4 ratio with water twice a week to fight FUNGUS GNATS. I've dealt with these bastards before without understanding their short yet productive little lives. I'm confident I can rid them in less than 10 days with my current regiment. The Autos did great in air pots but my White Cookies by ripper are suffering some yellow tip new growth and I checked and they filled a 7 L pot with healty white roots in less than 20 days. Sadly they maxed out and hence moisture levels got too high.

Thanks Mark, I feel a bit old school, but I just can't keep up with the "GorillaSkittlezGelatoFaceCake" super high THC monsters. I'm glad to see classic flavors being preserved in a way that makes it so that anyone can make some medicine on any budget! I flowered 6 of these under 300 watt LEDs and harvested .5g/watt last time so I know she puts out nicely :) Hopefully I can enter a few contests and try to get some more of your flavors for summer :) Love and Light Starphish

@starphish, There's nothing wrong with old school mate, I'm the same myself. Yes, there are some amazing strains coming out such as the "cookie" family strains. But, I've been using cannabis for 30 years and old school "Durban poison" is just as good to me as any GSC 👍 A lot of the older strains are making a come back, maybe crossed to another to create a new strain for a new generation 👌 All the best ✌️ Mark..
