Skully Hello, my dear grow friends,
Today, I’m starting my long-awaited Blue Zushi grow from GrowersChoice. As usual, I germinated the seeds in Jiffys and then planted them directly into their final 25L fabric pots. Interestingly, the seeds pushed themselves out of the Jiffys, which I haven’t experienced before. It wasn’t a problem, though—I just planted them a bit deeper in the fabric pots.
In total, I planted 4 seeds, and all of them germinated. However, one seedling didn’t shed its seed coat, and it started to rot underneath, so I won’t be able to use that one. I’m really curious to see how this strain performs.
For the soil, I went with a mix of 50% LightMix and 50% worm humus this time.

Moin,
as you can see, things are progressing. Unfortunately, two of the ladies aren’t doing so well yet, but they’ll come around. The third one looks great and is growing vigorously. I’m curious to see how things look next week.

Skully Good morning, my friends,
The three plants are growing very differently. One is already in the veg stage with a strong stem and vigorous growth, while the others are still transitioning from seedlings. I have no idea what went wrong there. But it could, of course, be due to genetics. No clue. What’s really giving me trouble this time are fungus gnats. They must have come in with the worm compost. I’ve never had it this bad before. I’ve already watered with nematodes twice and placed about 30 yellow sticky traps in the tent, but it’s not really getting better yet. Does anyone have any tips?

Skully Hey,
A few days ago, I topped the first lady. She’s by far the strongest and has grown significantly in height. I’m curious to see if the others will do the same. Humidity and temperature are good, and the girls are doing great. The fungus gnat problem has also been resolved. I still have all the sticky traps in the tent, but there are barely any flying around anymore. Those damn pests!!! I’ll keep you updated. See you next week.

Skully Good morning, folks,
As you can see, the other two ladies have now been topped as well. They are strong enough now. Plant "3" is an absolute beast! Topping didn’t bother it at all. I couldn’t spot any stress reaction. And it’s growing at an incredible speed. However, I’m wondering why the other two are lagging behind. Although they are slowly getting stronger too. Topping caused them to take two days to recover. I’ll keep an eye on that. This week, I also started training the other two with LST. They are already showing good growth in the lower sections. Otherwise, not much has happened. Just occasional watering, and I’ve now set the lamp to 40%. See you next week!

Skully Yo friends,
as you can see, the Blue Zuchis have turned into real monsters. Their growth is honestly almost scary. No matter how much I stress them, they don’t seem to care at all. In the next few days, I’ll set up a SCROG net and might top a few more shoots, depending on how the headbuds are distributed. Otherwise, I have to say this strain has really surprised me in a positive way, especially after the rough start.
I’ll keep you updated. See you next week!

Skully Hey friends,
This week, I set up the Scrog net since the three ladies are now taking over the entire tent. As seen last week, the girls are showing their sex and are ready to bloom. Next week, I’ll switch to flowering. Wishing you all a great week!

Skully Hi Growmies,
This week, I sent the ladies into flowering. Over the next few days, I’ll gradually turn up the light to 70%. The SCROG net is doing its job, and the plants look great! I’ll keep you updated.

Skully Hi Growmies,
The stretch has begun, and the ladies are growing at an incredible pace. The first signs of flowering are also visible. Very interesting are the different phenotypes in their growth behavior. The light is now running at 70%, but I think the girls can handle a bit more. I will try to gradually increase the intensity. I'm currently watering about 3 liters of rainwater daily with 1ml/l CalMag and pH- (6.3). Everything looks great, and I'll keep you updated. See you next week!

Skully Hi Growmies,
So much has happened this week that I haven't had time to report. After being on vacation for 4 days, I opened the tent and saw that the ladies had grown about 25 cm above the light. I expected the stretch to be over, and I was really shocked by how much they’ve turned into monsters. I had to completely rearrange the setup to have enough space above. The light is now hanging at its maximum height, and still, some tops are in the shadow and not getting enough light. Any ideas? They are also getting thirstier by the day, and I'm struggling to keep up with the watering. I’ve switched to tap water now since the rainwater supply has run low. I’m hoping for some rainy weather 😅 This week, I tried adding some BioGrow from BioBizz to the water to see how much fertilizer they can handle. I started with 1ml/l of water and haven’t noticed any over-fertilization so far. Next week, I’ll increase to 1.5ml/l and see what happens. I’ll keep you updated 🏻

Skully Moin,
as you can see, a lot has happened and the different phenos are clearly visible. It’s really fun to open it every day and see how the ladies are doing. They’ve also increased to 3 liters per day now and are forming strong buds. For this grow, however, a 2m tall tent would have been better. During the stretch, they easily grew another 150%. Insane!!!! I’m very curious about the next few weeks.

Skully Hey Growmies,
It's been a while since you heard from me, and I’ve been a bit lazy with photos this week. But the ladies are doing great – they’re swelling up nicely and are rock hard. The smell is super fruity with a strong skunky and gassy note. Not much work to do, other than watering them. At the moment, I only check the tent every 3–4 days, because I’ve noticed that the less I disturb them and the more stable the temperature and humidity stay, the better they do.

Skully Hey Growmies,
after a long time, here’s a little update. As you can see, the ladies are doing great. The only thing that worries me a bit are the large internode spaces, which cause the main buds to mature noticeably faster. I’m already thinking about harvesting the main buds first. However, the buds are still swelling nicely and will need a bit more time. So far, I’m very satisfied. I water about 6 liters per plant every day and add some BioBloom to provide a bit more nutrients. I’ll keep you updated.

As you can see, the ladies are doing great. The additional nutrients seem to be working. I'm really satisfied. I hardly have any work to do at the moment. The smell has become very intense by now. I’ll keep you posted.

Skully Hey folks,
As you can see, we're now heading straight toward harvest. The first head buds are ready and will be harvested in the next few days. Since I'm going on vacation again, this will be the last update before harvest. I haven't changed anything over the past week and have just continued watering.
Wishing you all a great week – see you at harvest time!
Moin Growmies,
Hey Growmies,
The work is done, and the harvest is now curing in jars — it should be ready in about 8 weeks. I ended up with a surprising result of over 200g of dry weight. Unfortunately, due to legal limits, I had to process most of it during the drying stage to stay under the allowed 50g.
I'm really happy with the whole grow. Besides preparing the soil and watering, I didn't have much work to do. I can definitely recommend organic growing to any lazy gardener out there. The strain has a very nice genetic profile and definitely even more potential when grown with mineral nutrients. My buds turned out rock-hard and super frosty. The smell is very intense.
As for the taste, I can’t say much yet since the buds are still curing in jars and need a bit more time. The aroma is very cheesy with sweet notes. I’ll post a more detailed review after the tasting.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Hola Growmies,
