Introduction - Week 04 Summary -
Ensign's log, stardate 8011.1,
Great grow week in the garden!
Growth has been incredible and have been impressed with the Gorilla Goat phenos! Really liking both the growth morphology and wow the terps on the stem rubs have been loud and gassy! Have already decided to preserve these genetics and will take clones next week to begin the new veg mother rotation.
Oh! Flooded the tent for the first time (damnit Ensign). Upgraded the gravity feed reservoir and added a drain valve. Still have the outlet valve OFF and still checking for leaks.
Inoculated all pots with worms and have been trying to keep up with watering.
Plan to start prepping for the 12/12 flip to flower soon.
Lot’s more to do Ensign, maximum warp!
Engage!

--- Focused mainly on the straw.
--- Canopy growth is getting closer to the light. Will probably be topping tomorrow.
--- Depending on how growth goes in the 4x4, will either be taking clones or not.
- [17:23]: Decided to increase the 4x4 grow light’s intensity.
--- Within the AC Infinity App,
--- For the Main Tent [4x4] controller,
--- Adjusted the 'Vegetative [18/6]' Schedule for the grow light.
------ Increased the MAX intensity from 2 to 3
- [17:26]: Took PPFD readings.
--- Gorilla Goat #1 was around 212 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 13.74 mol/m²/d under an 18/6 light cycle
--- Gorilla Goat #2 was around 231 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 14.97 mol/m²/d under an 18/6 light cycle
--- The FC-6500 is now utilizing around 260.3W (at intensity 3 out of 10).
- [17:35]: Checked the humidifiers.
--- Tanks are still full and no leaks found.
Day 04 - Thursday - 01/02/25 - Total Days: 031
-----------------------------------
Daily Averages ~[+01:00]
- Temps: 77.1 °F [25.1°C]
- Humidity: 67.3%
- VPD: 1.03 kPa
- Soil %: [42, 40, 46, 48, 43, 36, 49, 51]
-----------------------------------
- [11:17]: Woah!
--- The 5-gallon auto-watering system’s reservoir tank is empty!?
--- Uh-Oh..
--- Checked inside the 4x4 tent (temporarily turned the grow light on).
--- The floor of the tent was wet..
--- Damnit Ensign!
--- Puddles of water were on the floor and both the Gorilla Goat #2 and the original Garlic Budder #2 phenos were drenched at the bottom which seem to have soaked up all of the water..
--- Damn that’s a lot of water..
--- Thankfully both the Gorilla Goat #1 and the original Garlic Budder #1 phenos were still dry at the bottom.
- [11:35]: Cleaned up the water from the tent’s floor.
--- Actually quite grateful that I did not turn the auto-refill system for the tank yet.
--- So just under 4-gallons of water must have flooded overnight.
--- Damnit Ensign..
- [11:47]: Adjusted the watering triggers for the WittFlow auto-watering system.
--- Changed the ON trigger from:
--------- When CH2 soil moisture is under 40%
------------ Updated to:
--------------- When CH2 soil moisture is under 32%
--- Changed the OFF trigger from:
--------- When CH2 soil moisture is over 45%
------------ Updated to:
--------------- When CH2 soil moisture is over 35%
--- [*smokes several bowls..]
--- From what I can understand,
--- The reason why the floor was soaked seems to have occurred due to the gravity.
--- More importantly, soil capillary action (how water moves through soil pores against gravity)..
--- The larger the container, the higher the top soil level, so more gravity is required to travel upwards.
--- The 5-gallon pot’s top soil is about 10 inches from the floor whereas the 20-gallon is about 14 inches.
--- Thus the top soil never reached 40% soil moisture so the system never shut off.
--- Ordering new drip rings because I think I did more harm than good by adding more holes..
--- Will also probably drip straight onto or right next to the sensor.
--- Will either move the position of the drip ring or the sensor later..
--- The watering has to be uneven. Damnit Ensign..
--- Also will modify the reservoir and tubing setup a bit later. I think shortening the tubing will increase the pressure? I dunno..
- [17:27]: Evening check on the 4x4 tent.
--- Wow!
--- Growth actually looks pretty damn good!
--- Both Gorilla Goat phenos looking perky and fan leaves are huge and green!
--- Even both Garlic Budder phenos were looking quite happy!
--- Surprisingly the soaked phenos (Gorilla Goat #1 and the Garlic Budder OG#2) are looking incredible! Both also look like they’ve grown larger!
--- Maybe more water is better?
- [18:42]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data:
------ 39% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1]
------ 41% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2]
------ 41% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1]
------ 51% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2]
------ 41% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1]
------ 31% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2]
------ 48% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2]
------ 49% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4]
--------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55%
--------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet]
--- Not going to water the soaked phenos, but will water the ones that did not get affected by the reservoir flooding.
--- Also the 20-gallon pot is 10% drier than the 5-gallon pot which makes sense due to the height difference.
- [19:04]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water.
------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60]
--- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto Gorilla Goat #1’s straw mulch.
- [19:15]: Repeated this process again for the original Garlic Budder #1 pheno.
--- Focused mainly on the straw.
--- Absolutely stoked that both Gorilla Goat #2 (in the 20-gallon) and the original Garlic Budder #1 (in the 5-gallon) are looking happy!
--- Thought I fracked it up in the garden again. Which I did, but plants look great and no signs of any damage.
- [19:19]: Throughout the day I swapped out the reservoir tank with a new one.
--- Basically the same tank but this time I flipped the tank upside down and now have the output valve facing the front of the tent (had to cut a hole at the top).
--- Also now output valve on the tank is more robust and is using proper fittings.
--- Also shortened the watering system’s tubing a good 3ft.
--- Going to leave the tank empty for now.
--- Plan to add a drain valve later (this will help whenever I need to drain the system).
- [20:14]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent.
--- Garlic Budder mothers are all looking healthy and green!
--- Canopy grow is getting a bit wild.
--- Time to top!
- [20:15]: Using a pair of trimmers,
--- Removed a good 5-6 inches of top growth.
- [20:40]: Done!
--- Canopy looks a whole lot better!
--- Mulched the trimmings.
- [21:17]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water.
------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60]
--- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #2’s straw mulch.
- [21:25]: Checked the humidifiers.
--- Tanks are still full and no leaks found.
--- Wow what a day..
--- Was not expecting the tank to flood, but everything seems to have worked out nicely.
--- Hope I didn’t frack it up (again).
Day 05 - Friday - 01/03/25 - Total Days: 032
-----------------------------------
Daily Averages ~[+01:00]
- Temps: 76.7 °F [24.8°C]
- Humidity: 67.7%
- VPD: 1.01 kPa
- Soil %: [47, 42, 53, 49, 41, 49, 46, 45]
-----------------------------------
- [21:01]: Night check on the 4x4 tent.
--- Wow the garden is looking great!
--- Both Gorilla Goat phenos look a bit droopy, but growth is looking green!
--- Wow! The Gorilla Goat fan leaves are huge! Some leaves are larger than my hand. By far the largest leaves I’ve ever grown! Shout out to Rasta Jeff and his incredible genetics!
--- Also on the stem rubs, the terps are like nothing I’ve ever smelled! Wow!
--- Already have decided to keep both Gorilla Goat phenos and will take clone cuttings soon. Plan to eventually swap out two of the Garlic Budder mother plants (most likely the #2 and #4 phenos).
--- Garlic Budder phenos are looking healthy and happy as well! These genetics are definitely more lankier in comparison to the Gorilla Goat.
- [21:07]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data:
------ 46% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1]
------ 42% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2]
------ 51% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1]
------ 49% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2]
------ 37% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1]
------ 46% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2]
------ 45% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2]
------ 43% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4]
--------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55%
--------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet]
--- Before watering, going to fill the new reservoir. Before I do that,
- [21:18]: Added a drain valve.
--- Great! Going to make draining the system a whole lot easier.
--- Started filling the reservoir by engaging the RO auto fill system (valve ON).
--- This will take a bit of time.
--- No leaks! Nice!
--- Will keep the outlet valve OFF for now and will continue to check for leaks.
- [21:23]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent.
--- Ooo yea! Looking great my ladies!
--- Mothers are vegging along and looking perky!
- [21:37]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water.
------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60]
--- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto #1’s straw mulch.
- [21:45]: Checked the 4x4 reservoir again.
--- Nice! The system is still filling, but no leaks!
--- Based on the current water levels (about half full), the empty reservoir will take about an hour to fill.
--- Will continue to check the new fittings for leaks and once the new drip ring arrives, will turn the outlet valve on (still set to OFF).
- [21:47]: Checked the humidifiers.
--- Tanks are still full and no leaks found.
Day 06 - Saturday - 01/04/25 - Total Days: 033
-----------------------------------

-----------------------------------
- [19:22]: Night check on the 4x4 tent.
--- Wow growth is getting huge!
--- All phenos look green, but both Gorilla Goat phenos look a bit droopy.
--- Garlic Budder phenos look perky and really are starting to stretch upwards!
--- Regardless of the slight droopiness, both Gorilla Goat phenos have the largest fan leaves I’ve ever seen!
--- Some leaves have over a 9-inch leaf-span! Incredible!
- [19:31]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data:
------ 42% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1]
------ 41% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2]
------ 47% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1]

--------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55%
--------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet]
--- Soil moisture looks great and no need to really water. Great!
- [19:33]: Nice! Worms have arrived!
--- Got another batch of red wigglers from Uncle Jim and going to add some to each pot.
--- Let’s go!
- [19:45]: Poured the entire bag of worms and coco into a small plastic bowl.
--- Wow! Worms seems to be a bit slow (due to the colder temps), but all seem to have survived the trip.
--- Divided and filled 8 solo cups with an even amount of worms and coco.
--- Tried to fill each cup as evenly as possible.
--- Okay! First the main 4x4,
- [19:51]: Misted the straw mulch of each pot with some distilled water.
--- Just enough to wet the straw.
--- Dumped a cup of worms into each pot around the base of the plant. Going to let the worms do their thing and work their way into the soil.
--- Onwards to the veg tent!
- [19:58]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent.
--- Dumped a cup of worms into each pot around the base of the plant.
--- Misted the coco with some distilled water. Just enough to wet the coco.
--- Nice! Misting after adding the worms seems to
- [20:13]: Checked the reservoir for leaks.
--- Great! Looking good!
--- Also the tank in now full with the auto shutoff valve working perfectly!
--- Turned the auto refill system to OFF
--- On the reservoir, marked the full level with a marker.
--- Plan to empty the system a gallon at a time and will mark the levels accordingly.
- [20:24]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4.5 cups of RO water.
------ Added 1/32tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60]
--- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #1’s straw mulch.
--- Also misted the top of the other phenos with a bit of water. Mainly to wet the straw for the worms.
- [20:34]: Checked the humidifiers.
--- Tanks are still full and no leaks found.
--- Nice! All pots have been inoculated with living worms!
--- The plants have been really liking the higher soil moisture levels.
--- Hope the wormies will too. Stay strong little ones!
