Original Orange Bud (Svantje) from Dutch Passion

Svantje, as I have named this orange bud, is doing well. It's growing a little every day, but it's definitely visible. You can now see the beginnings of the 2nd pair of leaves.

Svantje is doing very well. You can almost watch her grow. In the middle of the week, the third pair of leaves can be seen and by the end of the week she was so big that she urgently needed to be repotted. So on day 20 she was put in a 2 litre pot with Biobizz Light mix. From now on it will also receive Biobix Bio fertiliser according to the schedule. I also adjust the water with Epsom salts and Calmag according to a calculator so that the cacium and magnesium are available to the plant in the right proportions and in sufficient quantities. The Sanlight Q1W is currently dimmed to 40%.

Svantje seems to feel very comfortable in these conditions. She is growing well, shows no signs of deficiency, very unproblematic so far. The topping is planned for next week.

This week Svantje was topped just above the 3rd nodie. Once again, she was very uncomplicated and showed hardly any signs of stress. Next week, after a short rest, she will be repotted in the final pot.

This week Svantje was repotted in an 11 litre fabric pot with Biobizz Light Mix soil. Not much happened, which was to be expected due to the repotting, so I didn't take a photo this week.

Svantje has recovered very well and quickly from being unpotted. She is now gaining a lot of height and leaf mass. I used LST to direct the 4 main shoots to the outside and give other shoots the opportunity to catch up in height. As you can see from the photo, it works very well. I am always amazed at how uncomplicated the Orange Bud from Dutch Passion reacts even to HST. Orange Bud is definitely a mega recommendation for beginners as it is very easy to grow and train.

Svantje has gained a lot of height and shoots this week. She has now grown to a height of 26cm and 14 shoots. She is also filling out the small tent nicely, so I will send her into flower next week. Until then, it still has time to develop the younger shoots a little better.

At the beginning of this week I started flowering and changed the light to 12/12, switched the fertiliser to flowering and set the lighting intensity on the dimmer to 80%. I will gradually increase the intensity from the current 650 PPFD to up to 1000 PPFD in the following weeks. By the end of the week, the beginning stretch was clearly visible. As I am updating this diary, I unfortunately didn't remember to always take photos and catching up is impossible. So you'll have to make do with a photo from last week as a placeholder.

Svantje has gained another 5cm and once again I didn't take any photos. But! 9 days after the initiation of flowering you can see the first pistils. The flower is finally visible. Lollipopping is planned for the beginning of next week and then she can show what she can do while I increase the light intensity and fertiliser week by week.

And we are already in the third week of flowering. Svantje seems very healthy and shows no signs of stress or deficiency. The flowers are growing and she herself has now grown to 50cm. I therefore carried out the lollipopping at the beginning of the week. The light intensity is currently at 750 PPFD and will be increased to 800 next week. There is now a slight, very pleasant herbal odour.

The stretch is still visible. She has now grown to 54cm and is slowly getting a little thirstier. However, not as thirsty as my French Macaron, which is in another 60cm tent and has temperatures of up to 26 degrees in the tent during the day. Next week I will probably defoliate it again to improve the air circulation. It has put on quite a bit of leaf mass again.

A little defoliation was on the programme this week. It has grown another 6cm in height and the flowers are developing splendidly. There are still no visible defects and she seems to be doing really well. The Sanlight Q1W is now running at 100% and the PPFD is currently around 850. I think I'll go up to 1000 PPFD next week and keep it there until about a week before harvest.

The height growth seems to be almost complete and Svantje shows what she can do in terms of flower formation. If this continues, I can expect really big, firm and plump buds. The odour has intensified and gives me an idea of what a treat will end up in my jars later. I have decided to try Plagron's Green Sensation as an additive in this run. Let's see what and whether it does anything.

Svantje surprises me again and again in a positive way. The buds are slowly getting really plump and big and at the end of the week I thought I wasn't seeing properly. The first bud surprised me with rich purple colours. I'm curious to see if and how this will continue. The light intensity and fertiliser application have now reached their maximum and I don't have to do anything other than water with the fertiliser solution every 2 to 3 days at the moment.

Svantje has definitely become a real beauty. I wouldn't have expected this play of colours. The flower shows a play of colours of different shades of green and purple, which in combination with the almost bright orange pistils is simply beautiful. The flowers have now become very large and heavy. The trichomes already look promising and I think they should be ready to harvest by the end of next week. At the end of this week I will therefore dim the light intensity again so that it is around 800 PPFD.

Svantje has done well again in the last few weeks. She has definitely increased her flower mass and intensified her purple colouring. I'm not sure whether Plagron Green Sensation has made a difference because I haven't grown an Orange Bud yet, but I have to say that I'm more than happy with the bud size. As I always dry my plants with the branches to slow down the drying process a little, I can't yet estimate how high the wet yield has been. As soon as the harvest has been dried and trimmed, I'll add this later.
