Welcome to this run of Royal Queen Seeds hulkberry. I grew their mother in the hope of finding my keeper strain , sadly due to having to feed her for her entire grow at full strength , due to the multi strain needs , i dont think i did her any justice .She got way too much N amd her yield and taste suffered badly. I know this strain has some excellent reviews and results so felt compelled to clone her and give them their own chance to really shine so here goes another fun run with the High thc, bruce banner #3 pheno , HULKBERRY. Sit back relax and enjoy the ride. Plan is to supercrop then scrog them to fill the room with fat chunky buds. 2x 600w Metal Halide for Veg 2x 600w H.P.S for flower. Here we go for day 1 The Ladies have settled in well overnight with no signs of any issues so far. They are healthy and have lots of new growth following their transition from flowering back into vegged clones. The majority have been growing steadily in the propagater and have new limbs with new shoots forming. Only one jas stayed relatively small a d bushy looking so lets see how she mutates. I took them during the 4th week in flower as in monstercropped, i am hoping to create a bushier structure than the " head for the stars" one they create if left. The mother grew tall and thick stemmed so quickly so i need to get on these before they overpower any attempt at training them. Have been to the Gym ( looking through window) to prepare for this battle with Brucey. Here goes the next 14 weeks of " What spare time?" , buckle up folks , this could get bumpy......

Update Day 9 Veg: What a shit week for the girls this week has been. Got a letter from landlord to visit property for heating system upgrade and needing access to the rooms and heating system inc the tank in my attic !!!!!!!!!.panic stations set in and i had to dismantle the grow and any signs of it with 2 days notice. Not knowing how long i would be held up before the work starts to be done , i thought this journey was done. I put the girls into a temp home for the inspections and he never even went to the attic !!!!!! Thankfully work starts next tuesday for 2days only then i can rebuild the room and get these girls back home. They are doing great in their hempy buckets and still growing but very slowly. I have started supercropping them now so when they take off in the system ,a scrog will be easy to route as the foundation will be done. Happy Hulkberry with no anger issues yet.

Update : After a very patchy and disastrous start again , i am finally up and running with the girls back in their proper home. They have took a bit of a hit from being in the Krakty style emergency pods bit at least survived. I have been able to bend and train them a little to get them bushier for their scrog plan. There are a couple that are lagging behind but under the circumstances i am not surprised. Root growth at best is about 7 inches long on 3 so easily finds the water in the buckets but the others have smaller , less dense roots going on. I had to pull them all at the stage of starting to build roots so feel starting them at week 1 again is appropriate. So here are the girls at Day 1 of their vegging future.

What a week it has been. The girls are settling in nicely again now and their roots are starting to grow again. I have gone back to stones over the rings i made as they didnt seem to be pushing the air out enough to benefit from the low pressure d.o. produced. I have moved my air intake to inside the box with the air pumps so it brings in colder air than is in the room to put into the pots through the stones. There are a couple of potential big girls developing among the clones that should help to fill out a scrog. Lots of potential bud sites and they are taking to the supercropping well too and i have used a clip-on for the biggest to reroute her main stem. I think she will keep me busy on that score. I have made some great bubble hash from my last barneys farm crops trims. It is a head high from all three grades and i got nearly 2oz of beautiful top notch Hash to help me to the next harvest. Plan is to go another week in veg at least then decide on route to take scrog. UPDATE day 12 veg. Girls have recovered well and are now building roots better. I have now dumped the air stones and changed to flat round 6" ceramic stones. The difference is shocking. Now i feel they have a great chance to to go for it. ppm and ph have been great too Had a major leak from a blocked outlet in a bucket. 4am waterfall onto our bed from above us. Wifey not best pleased but very understanding.

Well heres the new plan. Due to going away and not trusting the rdwc not to leak, block , die , blow my house up etc... I am putting these girls into coco for their finish. Sadly i am not confident of their proving me wrong on the yield so need to maximize the space better. I am germinating some Barneys Farm new strains beans now for the rdwc. ( Diaries will follow). I am intending to continue with this one also just alongside. They have been growing nice and steadily and they have kept steady on the numbers Ph 5.6-6.1 sliding down. Ppm has been steady around 800 and they have loved the air stones too. roots are forming up nicely so should transplant ok hopefully. They will get extra veg time too as the new beans catch up and it will possibly mean a few will become guerilla grows locally. Will keep the best lookers for the room though Need also to work on the noisy airpumps before setting off again. sounds way too noisy for stealth and sleep. Heres the girls on their final day in the buckets.

Update Day 26 veg: I have now put all of these girls into coco. Due to being away and rdwc leaks ect... , i decided a new route will need to happen. plan is to slow these down with the cloning light while away ( and new seedlings in) . Once i get back i will be hitting them again with full MH for a little more golden light before flowering. They should have a nice structure by this point but not too large. I plan on them being in the corners of the room like pillars hopefully. fi gers crossed. They all look very happy but when transplanting, a few had roots damaged that came away. Hoping the recovery is fast as i only have a week before i leave for 10 days . The pump idea is a no go i think ( too high flow) so will be wicking somehow or maybe the standing in water idea.

Update. day 35 veg. : Well a steady settling in for the girls this week. No real growth to impress and waiting patiently for the real sun to go back on when i return home. Gave them all a good soaking before i left so will hopefully be just drying out nicely. I like the look of the girls and think that the extra veg time will help with the yield potentially. Time will tell. On holiday in the sun with a pina colada in hand right now so the cocktails calling. heres hoping the next update is a positive one. peace and blessings

Update day day 46 veg. After the 10 day absence of daddy, the ladies have kept enough moisture for the entire period. They don't show any signs of missing me ( nothing new there.!) I am putting the sun back on tomorrow so they can get on with growing those pillars. Am sticking to just a single 600MH for a week to allow the new ladies to adjust alongside the Hulks. I am relieved to say the least and will be cooking a new mix for them tomorrow as a treat for behaving. A few quick shots and will put a few more later too. They are definitely bushier but the small 200w T5 is a huge light loss compared to the halide but is still keeping them happy and building rootballs in the coco. I am determined to get a good yield from at least one.

Day 53 veg: a slow and steady week this week. They have been settling into the MH 600w nicely. No major growth as are clones anyway but now under a stronger light , they have def gotten a bit talller. They are doing great with their nice green colour. Been using plagron coco as a base nute as had some left from previous gro. After mixing the ppm is around 1140 amd had the ph at 6.1 They show no signs of any issues at all so far and their tips have no yellowing at all. Lets see what the next 2 weeks veg can do for them.

Update Day 59 veg: what a shocker of a week this week has been. Getting the girls settled back into a routine and feeding again has allowed me to miss an attack by spidermites. I have spent a part of this week spraying them with a 50/50 milk/water and a little dish soap. It has been helpful but as i have so many young girls just starting their training , i couldn't risk passing this around the room.Today i decided to get the 2 infected girls out of the room. They both got binned with care not to splash the. about. Hopefully the remaining 2 will atill rise to occasion and yield well. Still no issues feeding at all and i have retrained their limbs to get a few more sites going before flowering time. They are still very healthy and up for a fight so i will work with what i have. Glad i had a back up grow now. More space for the remaining 2 as well. I am also making up a mix with Tobacco, liquid soap too which is supposed to be amazing on pests. gutted to lose plants but feels safer than buds filled with trapped spidermite.!!

Update day 66 veg: It had to happen !! I am down to one surviving girl now due to spidermite. The other girl had some eggs and spiderlings on a few random leaves. Not wanting to risk more infection , she had to go. I did notice how poor the root structure was when i pulled her from the pot too.I think all of the early stress and constant upheavel have taken their toll. The Hulberry left looks very happy but on reflection for her age , should be huge by now. as with the others , i suspect her roots are not the best but workable. i expect it to have an effect on yield but with all the visible bud sites she has , there will be a good amount of buds to work with. I am happy with her bushy look and structure and with the pinning down again , i intend to let her go vertical from this point. The stretch on her mother was easily 100% so this should help her keep up with the others . Feeds have been taken with no signs of issues. all her leaves are praying nicely and her stems have a good suppleness to work with. Compared to the seed grown mother , she is a weakling at present but this week has seen her flourish so fingers crossed she goes for it.

Update Veg Day 75:. Wow that seems like forever and there is still the flowering period to get through !! She has been getting taller this week and now she has been put in to the sweetspot for the new Led's , i expect her to really take off . She has a really great quadline which has happened by accident but will keep the Hulkberry happy as she grows now. She is taking feeds with o issues at all and it will be good to see if she needs more nutes now her light is stronger. She takes 2L easily and only gives a small run off at that. Pics should get better now i am in full spectrum lights

TRANSITION DAY 1 ( VEG DAY 35) . The Hulkberry ate now in transition to flower. She has been a steady girl while waiting to get to this point and been put through some punishment with temp homes , in and out of the tent , surviving member of her family with 6 sisters lost to spidermite along the way. I am impressed how well she has took to the new lights. she could do with thickening her stems a bit as they look thin compared to the other strains from seed in the grow room. She desperately needing flipping as 3 months is a very long slow delay and her branches are harder to press now so is getting on a bit now like an old maid.lol I am curious to see if her buds exhibit the pasta spiral look like the mother did or if this was due to too much N. I don't intend to grow this strain again and dont have much faith in RQS genetics either. one to avoid in the future and proof that all breeders are not that skilled to create and maintain decent strains. I am confident that my next run with Sponsored fast buds autos will prove this opinion and show how dedication wins over hype just as Barneys Farm have done too

TRANSITION DAY 11: This girl has rwally kicked into gear now. Her stretch has been great so far and will contribute excellent to the final pkanned structure. I have a had to do a little supercropping here and there to bring her height to a good level with the rest in the tent. Her limbs are still a little skinny yet but hopefully she will bulk those up as the buds get forming. She is showing bud production now and had her 1st pistils at day 4 flip ( Transition). She has a lot of good sites to develop and will only need a little tidying up when the stretch ends and i can work on her again

Flowering Day 3: This lady has been continuing to impress with her fight to be top dog. Her flowering is well underway now and i am hopeful she will produce better than her mother. I fed her too much N as she was part of a res supplied feed that i couldnt lower for her finish as i still had too many that needed full strength. Seeing her structure after the quad has already given her a better chance of more mains and the node spacing is way better than her mom. The actual Flowers are a nice ball shape emerging from the tops too. These should hopefully become the baseball bats advertised in the sales patter ! Surely One of us on here will get a good pheno of this strain?????

Due to her age , i think she had a kick start over her companions to maturity so flowered quicker. The node distances are perfect for joining up and creating fat, long colas . I can see how they will stack and grow quiet well now and am hopeful of her yield. For 2 weeks old , she is doing great and to say how long she was held back ect.. ,doing even better. Still no signs of any issues or deficiencies so all good. Lets see gow she copes this week with the heatwave.

Day 56 of70 flowering: I was going to harvest during this week as she has hit the 8 weeks i read is her cycle. I then read another that had her as a 9-10 week flowering strain !!!. Looking at her now , she looks like another week would be possible for her as she doesn't quite look ready. Her buds are fairly loose and airy butshe doesnt have the size or bulk of her mother at all. better looking to a pint but nowhere near the size on her mains. She smells nice and fruity up close and had a few trichs starting to sprinkle around the leaf sets now finally. I dont think inwould grow this strain again as it has been major dissapointment both times i tried now. Lets see what she yields ?. UPDATE DAY 57. following good advice from Silky smooth , i have nipped the top few pistils of the main buds to encourage some girth hopefully. Thanks Silky

Day 63 flowering (77 since flip). The bud trimming suggested by Silky Smooth has worked a treat this week (Thank you Silky ) The buds are looking a little fatter than they would have been without a doubt. I am still considering making Hash from her to avoud a nightmare trim jail sentence from her but will see once she is out of the Dark period. She smells great up close and is sticky with resin too. The tips i smoked hit me harder than i realised they would too.lol roll on harvest time

What can be said about this strain besides , it get tall. cola to leaf and stem is rubbish for me. both attempts with the strain have been poor yields. Great hype on the site but from 6 seeds i initially to only yield 6oz total is poor. she grew spindly as a clone but took training ok Her pulled sisters ( 6 others) did not cope with spider mite at all and had to be scrapped early on. She would make amazing Hash so may be used this way.
