If you’re looking for the ultimate beginner strain, then this is it. She’s easy going, resilient, responds incredibly well to training, takes a full nute regimen like a champ, and under the right circumstances (like these ones😉) yields a dream!: 1:. She’s so easy in fact, that I had to change the title of this diary from “ain’t easy” to “too easy”😎. Taste & Smell: 🍭🍭 Effects: 🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭 We’re already getting the hints of cheese coming out on the cure. But it’s still grassy and skunky following the 6 day dry. Taste & smell only get 2 lollipops because once the terps are in full effect it’s still gonna taste and smell like skunky cheese. Effects - even if I had a decent sense of smell (which I don’t) I’d still be smoke’n this awesomeness. The effects get a full 5 lollipops for me. It is my go-to, straight baked and chilln strain. Perfect for summer nights by the dock with some tunes. Definitely on par with nyc diesel and northern lights for staple status: 1:. Cerebrally chill all the way and very indica leaning with a dozy effect on the finish. Dreamy night time smoke: 1:😎.

Nutes 🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭 Ran at the very top of botanicare’s recommended feeding schedule the whole time and the results speak for themselves. Cal mag is a must in coco and I didn’t cut it back until the later weeks of flower. Probably could’ve gotten away without it after week 6 or 7 but we don’t really stress that in a hydro medium. She showed almost no signs of burn through the whole grow which makes her very friendly and accommodating to newer growers with a tendency to overfeed or water. Might’ve been able to push it a little more but doubt it would’ve made a significant difference in the outcome. The karma and Hydroplex seem to be good supplement additions to the base nutes and calmag. If anything - we may expand on this line with a couple additional supplements in the future.

Method 📊📊 There really wasn’t much of a method to begin with. Needed a couple plants on the grow for a quick turnover and this bean fit the bill for an initial test run using the new grow light. She was so strong and robust early on that we FIM’d ‘er to break apical dominance and spread ‘er with lst to get as much light penetration as possible. The branching was very strong and required no yo-yoing or additional support. Based on prior experience - she seems to be a very stable strain and I didn’t see much pheno difference from plant to plant. Indica leaning but her fan leaves display sativa traits: 1:. Medium 🎛️🎛️🎛️🎛️ Coco is the go-to medium in lieu of soil when we grow indoors. Better drainage, faster growth rate (especially in veg.) and re-usable too! The fact that it’s nute neutral allows us to dictate exactly what the plant receives at all times. IMO - more manageable and precise than soil. Include a regular diet of calmag and ur good to grow.: 1:. The only knock is one of its greatest strengths. With better drainage comes more regular feedings. If you prefer to spend less time watering then soil will get you a day or two more between feedings at most stages. Yield🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴 The first run of this strain and it’s measly outcome was predominantly due to user error and imperfect conditions. This one was given every luxury we could afford and it blew up like mad! The grow light upgrade to COB tech. was worth every damn penny. Whether it’s the increased wattage or the spectrum from the light itself, this thing is a beast and I attribute a lot of the success on the grow to this one piece of equipment.: 1: The numbers... man I’m floored. Total dried yield - cheese: 5.62oz. That’s back to back, record breaking grows indoors but in this case - our yield destroys that of every grow previous by a massive margin. We pulled more yield off this one plant then we did off the last 2 plants combined: 1:😎. If you look at total harvest yield across both plants for this cycle, that’s 9.95oz’s. Crushes the record yield per cycle in the cabinet by 4oz. easy! 😎👌💪🤩. The stats say an avg. of 450-500g/m2 for this strain. Based on the rough size of my cabinet the avg. should be 99g/0.21m2. This is proportional to the other 2 grows in the same space. Our actual dry yield harvest - 159.32g/0.21m2. That’s 60% more than the approximated avg. yield per meter squared - nailed it!💪 Props👊👊👊👊👊 A great many thanks to everyone who stopped in and cared to take some interest in this cycle. I appreciate the support. Notable shoutouts start with @theweedman - dude, this cxb cob kit is phenomenal and thanks for the intel and putt’n me on to it. It’s gonna redefine my grow game - lol. @dudegrowsweed and @experimentgreen deserve some huge props as well. Really appreciated the discussion as well as the inspiration to give some higher stress training a try with autos. She did remarkably well and when it comes to future auto grows, I’ll probably look to at least a FIM technique every time: 1:. Change’n how I’ll be growing in the future y’all - cheers!👊. Final thank you to the community, whoever stops in to take a peek and GD as always. Nice to have a place to store all this stuff and learn some other stuff in the process.👊

Grow Questions

Please see April 3rd photo and weekly update comment. Considering snipping the lowest 2 growth tips early in an effort to focus more energy higher up the plant. This is an auto specific question and I will be doing lst regardless. All thoughts welcome👊

Hey whisp so I think everythings worth a try because you'll only know for sure by testing. If you went against this, I'd definitely say to look into the approximate time that this strain starts flowering, 4week, 6week, and defoliate/ or chop right when flowering is beginning. I kept putting off my chops until too far into flowering in my opinion and feel like if the plant had been given the signal sooner it would have channeled that energy to the budsites much more effectively. Since Dinafem is pretty solid and its an xxl version which i believe takes longer to finish, i dont think there'd be any harm in waiting a few weeks. Sorry I don't have more experience with the low growth tip cutting, I do feel like a plant this young and healthy could manage to be topped effectively though too, so just possible ideas. ✌️ good luck.

@growdiaries - any way to walk back my selected best answer to my grow question? I hit the select button by accident and was hoping to draw in a couple more opinions before I made my decision. All good if not cuz @experimentgreen ‘s was still really good and might end up the winner anyway - just figured I’d ask. Thanks for the look EG!👊

@TheBudWhisperer, too true, i don't go on as much now, to little time. But it's nice to be able to share and find just about anything you could think of in picture/video formats, but you'll get a lot of nonsense in the mix too.

@mrs_larimar - ahhh! U guys all rang in at the same time and I hit the select button on EG by accident without even getting to review all the opinion. Trying to get gd to walk it back so I can read em all, get a couple more thoughts and then decide. Thanks so much for take’n a look. The informed opinion is appreciated because this idea is a new one to me and sounds a little counter intuitive. Cheers girl!👊

Hey so I was just curious, if you take that bottom node off will you still clean up the bottoms after the plants full grown? I've been being too chicken to lollipop the bottoms so intensely and keep winding up with a fair bit of popcorns...i think I need to start being a bit more daring and test some things out. I'm way curious to watch if you decide to cut the bottom nodes. I'll make sure to keep popping in to follow what happens.✌️

@Experimentgreen, well I’ve fimd before but never with an auto. IMO - less traumatic for the plant than topping but also less reliable results.

@Experimentgreen, ok so last minute change of plan - was about to give er the full chop and then stopped myself because she just seemed prime for a fim instead👍. Pics r up. My first try with this on an auto. Can’t wait to see how it turns out👍

@Iop420, cheers bud - she’s super low maintenance and I d recommend this one any time. She stinks something fierce but the effects are what I’d call an “introspective indica”. Super chill and still very cerebral for any indica. Good luck with yours fo sho👍😎👊

I’ve never cut the lower growth at this age personally. I do remove the smaller bud sites during flowering to help focus energy to the larger buds on the tops. And find this is perfectly fine with autos. I find autos are much more resilient then most people give them credit for. You can do pretty much anything you like with autos as you would with photos, just don’t do too much at once. Happy growing!

@DudeGrowsWeed, now that’s an opinion I can take to heart from straight experience. Thanks for the look bro - I really appreciate it and am definitely leaning towards just letting it grow or possibly just topping it and seeing how it plays out. Hit the wrong button on selected best answer and was hoping for a couple more people’s input before deciding. U def. aren’t outta the running for my part😉. Thanks dude! 👊

@DinafemSeeds, thanks for the encouragement Mark👊. She still put out another 5” of vertical this week so stretch may last a little bit longer😉🤞. Either way, this is exactly what I was hoping for out of this plant and it certainly hasn’t disappointed👍. Another couple trims and I think we’re smooth sailing to harvest. @TheBudWhisperer, Yes we do have great genetics but without growers such as yourself to show the world what they can do we Would not be where we are today 👍 Beautifully done my friend, Fimming can be tricky especially with autos. Thank you @TheBudWhisperer for this diary. I'm growing the same strain right now, it's my first grow and they've grown at a very similar rate to yours, so this diary has been SUPER helpful to me. I noticed you had plenty of amber trichomes by the time you chopped - how was the high? Not too much of a couch lock? I'm at day 62, and considering chopping in a week or so... did she pack on a lot of weight in that last week, was it worth the extra wait? Thank you!
