KurtHighgrade Hi, i decided to do a journal of the second triploid strain i'm growing at the moment.
We are starting in week 5.
Growers Choice suggests 24 hours light while vegging cause the Fast/F1 genetic could force the plants to flower if vegged with less.
Of cause this means that the plants show more stress symptoms and are looking similar to a human who hasn't slept for days.
Poor girls, no sleep since five or six more days🤭🙃
Happy growing💚🚀

KurtHighgrade Everything's good, the Iced Sangria's are healthy and strong.
They are showing less stress symptoms now and cope quite well with the 24 hour light regime 🙃🙂

KurtHighgrade Hi, Iced Sangria grows like a beast!
She develops so much biomass.
One was growing gigantically, so I had to give her to a friend with a big garden.
She grew like the magic bean in that fairytale 🙂
Transplantation into the bed happened last week, scrogging yesterday.

KurtHighgrade Hi, what a monster!!!!
I never watched a plant growing like Iced Sangria Triploid. Amazing, how may sprouts she produces.
She takes round about one third less vegging time. Phantastic!
Scrogged her a second time and did a light defoliation.
The pics have been taken on the second day of flowering, I simply forgot to take them earlier. But the stretch has been only minimal so far and she looks nearly the same as on the last day of veg.

KurtHighgrade Hi, did some light defoliation and increased the light intensity up to 900 - 1300 PAR .
This plant will be the heaviest producer of the six plants in that box. No doubt. A growers delight! So many more potential colas than the diploids.
Of cause more defoliation needs to be done and a trellis has to be put up...

KurtHighgrade I'm facing severe problems these days in form of thrips and a broken pH meter.
Need to get a new one as fast as possible.
It's like driving through thick fog at top speed.
I decided to do nothing further against the thrips than defoliation. My intuition tells me that this will keep the population at an acceptable amount.
Let's see...
Besides this the conditions are fine:
Optimal VPD of 0.8-1and optimal temperatures of 25-28°C.
Still i'm sure to easily push her over the 1g/W mark with genetics like this.

Reminding me of certain plants out of the Mazaar I Sharif region.
Buds are rather smallish but so beautiful!

KurtHighgrade Day 53 and we are at 1% ambered trichomes.
I'm absolutely stunned by the beauty of this lady😍💚
I raised over 10k plants from seed or clone to harvest and this one is the most beautiful of them all!!!
Unfortunately I'm not good at taking pictures nor is the camera on my mobile the very best. The trichomes of this triploid variety are outer worldly!!!
I will start harvesting at 5% amber...
Peace brothers and sisters 💚⭐🌻🌞
Iced Sangria is a fascinating high THC triploid creation which is enormously big yielding and ultra resistant.
The production of biomass and trichomes was heavy and outstanding - not comparable to typical diploid growth. More branches and buds, round about one third more resulting in a dreamlike outcome of 371g and a phenomenal rate of 1.99g/Watt. Wow! Spectacular as I would say with all organic fertilization. Last 4 weeks only cleared water by the way, no fertilizers at all.
Due to a lack of time I couldn't defoliate as much as needed but still she didn't catch any mold like 4/5 of the diploid strains next to hear in the same box which had been cleaned much better before. Such a high mold resistance makes every grower smile who can't afford any losses.
The bag appeal is breath taking and she has been the most beautiful plant I have ever seen.
Reddish, later slightly purple buds packed with unbelievable pretty trichomes.
This hybrid strain is ideal for daytime consumption, it keeps you functional, motivated, uplifted and blissful - perfectly head stoned but still focused enough for all kinds of work and activities.
Iced Sangria is nice to be consumed in a blend with other strains, especially with strong indicas. Her terp composition seems to have some kind of enhancing effect on different other strains and seems to complete the buzz of them.
I guess she has a very complex cannabinoid spectrum.
She's easy to trim and got a good bud to leave ratio.
Smell and taste is on the fruity side, I'd say strawberry.
Although the stretch is quite moderate (1 - 1.5x), i guess this strain should be done by advanced growers, others might have problems in controlling her rapid lateral growth. Triploids like this are for sure a commercial farmer's dream cause of the shorter vegging time they need to fill up the growing space.
Watching this triploid plant grow has been lots of fun and a special experience and I want to speak out a big THANKS to the breeding staff at Growers Choice for having created something unique and having made a huge step into a possible future of cannabis.
Peace

@DmbTexasRanger, thx, bro! I think triploids are the future of the seed market, really! This has been my first triploid and i'm completely impressed by it's performance! First reason: round about one third more biomass/colas/buds than usual (the diploids are growing next to her so i can compare easily), i think the scale will proof it soon
Second: super high mold resistance, four out of six strains got infected - she didn't care although i defoliated her not even half as much as the others out of laziness.
Third and most stunning reason: the resin production and super high amount of trichoms, absolutely out of this world!
I hope that there will be more triploid varieties on the market one day. No plant i grew could be compared to this triploid. Next level cannabis, trust me!
Have you tried a triploid so far? And what's your opinion?🖖
@RockoCalenberg, i hope there will be more triploids on the market. When HSC released 'California Octane triploied' a few weeks ago, i ordered directly without thinking about it. The diploid version has been stored in the fridge for quite some time now but after the Iced Sangria experience i had to do get the triploid version and will grow it as soon as possible. Triploids are somehow like the magic bean in that fairytale which grew to the sky 🖖💚
@Ced_triploide, THX mate, good luck for your project, too💪 I´d love to see some pics, publish your journal! We also got an Iced Sangria outdoors but i cannot see her before mid-august👍
@Gummi_Ingo, the triploid strains from Growers Choice contain a bit of FastFlowering genetic which needs 24 hours. Some growers had problems with early flowering (similar to an automatic) because they vegged with 18 or 20 hours. It's mentioned at the end of the strain description on GCs website.
@Diips,
Yes! Sticky Wasabi's Aroma and buzz are incredible. Unfortunately i had a low yielding pheno. I think the Tropicana is a nice one 2. The Sticy pheno was a bit stronger than Sangria. I'm looking forward to planting Cali Octane triploid by HSC in about a month or two🖖
