Germination
7mo ago
CanOli95 Hello Growers , welcome to my Diary. This is my first time of trying out premium US Seeds. So far, I've been growing a lot of seeds, which were almost everytime Holland genetics. This time I'm curious, whether the US market stands out, like people say. I bought this seed pack at the Cannafair in Düsseldorf and I'm looking forwards to the results. After they have a certain height, I'm planning to make cuttings from the heads and keep them as mother plants. I really hope they turn out above average. Thanks for following and commenting on advance :)

CanOli95 3/3 just sprouted. The seedlings seem to stretch, even though the lamp puts out 30 Watts. I looked up photos for comparison from Wizard trees, they also seem to stretch to much, at least for my taste. I increased the power outage to 60 Watts and hope they stay more compact. Of course I transplant them deeper , but I like them to be short wegen they sprout. All in all I'm very glad they sprouted, cause 35€ per Bean is Hella expensive. I will keep you updated 🌱

CanOli95 Growth is alright . Leaves looking a bit too dry, I guess the increased light was a bit to much. I lowered it a bit. I like my plants a bit more compact, so decreased the input just slightly. I also added a bit of Aptus regulator, which is basically silica with boron. It helps thickening the stems and the boron helps in uptaking nitrogen. The boron is not that important to me since plants are very efficient in metabolising nitrogen, but the silica is the stuff that keeps things going. I highly recommend any silica products, no matter the nutrient schedule. Just 4 drops, estimated 200 mykromilliloters per liter of regulator will do the job.

CanOli95 Growth is alright. Plants are thriving and until now there are now issues with nutrients. I started adding All in one liquid as base fertilizer. Single nutrients will be added throughout plants lifecycle. Turgor is a bit low, but they will be transferred to my bigger tent soon, where I can adjust the climate better and make it hotter. This will allow them to uptake more nutrients, water and light. I noticed they don't like watering, or are a bit picky. I noticed it also from a different strain ( no diarie ), maybe this a phenomenon, which occurs more often in American type cultivars. I will keep you updated 🌱

CanOli95 It was time to transplant these baby plants into 3,5 l pots. This time I'm using an all mix. For the next couple of weeks, no nutrients should be needed. I noticed, leaves seem like to start intervenial chlorosis. The all mix should catch up on this, but I also got Epsomsalt, if needed. Plants showed a bit of stunted growth and loss of turgor. I researched and four out, Wizard trees genetics seem to be easily affected by to high light output, so I lowered the intensity. They also seem to be very compact. By this size, I already counted 5 nodes. For the next weekend , I'm planning to take the Head cutting's. After that, I will start using HST and LST, to keep them more compact. My bigger tent is almost ready to give them a bigger home. For this week I'm planing to let them chill and grow more roots, supporting them by adding start boost and silica for developing thicker cellwalls , but no additional nutrients.

CanOli95 In this week I noticed a potassium and magnesium deficiency. The older pots have been grown out, so I don't need to wonder. Anyway, I added a foliar magnesium spray, made of Epsomsalt and applicated it twice. I needed some organic bloom (3-6-9), since the new earth should contain more than enough nitrogen. The plants just need to grow the new earth uptake the nutrients . If the status quo won't be better, I will definitely add some mineral nutrients. But untill then, I will just let grow and keep patience. It won't make sense to the cuttings this week, so maybe next week, I'm not in a rush :) 🌱

CanOli95 This week was pretty good. Plants recovered well an showed no issues . Deficiency is gone and new growth looks good. Just working out the optimal ppfd for these babies. In a few days I will take the cuttings, since they seem to be able to handle it. I will give them a week for recovery, since I'm planing to take head-cuttings. In the pictures you can see, that the light penetration is not that good, which will change after taking the cuttings. Maybe I will extend for another week of veg, If I think the nodes should develop more. The 3,5 will be the last pot, since I don't want to wait for too long to let them flower. Today I only added the start boost, no other nutrients and no silica.

CanOli95 Week went pretty well. Plants growing nice and strong. After putting of the Aptus Regulator, the plants head stretched a bit more, which is perfect for taking the cuttings. I will update it soon 🌱 I also put them to the bigger tent with bigger lights. I will also add my humidifier for keeping the perfect VPD. I also gut a dehumidifier with a HEPA-filter build in.

CanOli95 Sadly, this week was tough. Plants were looking good at first glance, but they rapidly worsened. They showed multiple deficiencys and excesses at the same time, plus loss of turgor. They locked out , because the allmix was still to heavy. I had to flush them 2 times. Watered them with EC 0,8, just with some calmag, enzymes and alpha boost, which ist basically beneficial microbes and plant based hormones. I got out EC 1,5 at first time, second flush was 0,9 and they seem to handle it better..This is why you will Photos auf the plants in multiple stages. I wanna be honest, last time I got so many problems in veg, was when I started growing 10 years ago. But I won't give them up, just need to figure some points out and don't experiment so much.

CanOli95 Yesterday I transplanted them into 18 l pots, because I had to almost water them twice daily. This time I chose Terra Professional from Canna. It has a bace EC of 1,0, which I think will suit them better. I added pro roots and regulator for pushing new growth of roots. It's almost 10 Weeks and I should start flowering. Maybe next week, we will see :)

CanOli95 The Ladies seem to like the new soil. Growth is nice and roots are stretching out of the pots. Plants are getting greener, but of course damaged leaves will not heal. Stems are getting thicker and overall growth seems to rise. I added the second light to serve more and evenly ppfd, which they seem to handle pretty good. No base nutrients Nutrients needed, except some foliar magnesium/ bittersalt ( at least the plant in the middle ). Since I handled them the same, I'm wondering why they appear differently in context of nutrient balanced, but they have to keep going on. I installed a net, to allow more branches to reach some light and keep up with the bigger ones. Maybe I'm going to flip to 12/12 cycle this week, depending on how the overall growth will develop throughout the coming week under the net. 🌱 I'm just lucky they are becoming more healthy and that I didn't had to cancel this project.

CanOli95 The Day has come to flip the lights 🌱☄️⏲️ Plants are healthy enough and producing lots of new leaves. Stems are also getting thicker and Turgor ist there. I bend some stems and used the net to gain a bit of control, but not like real Scrogg should be done, but that's not what I'm aiming for. I also cut of stems and leaves from the bottom, which are not necessary. Later, at day 19 -23 , I will do a bigger defoliation, to get a thinner carpet and allow weaker growth to gain more light. I still don't use NPK fertilizer, only rooting acceleration and Silica in form of Mono-Silic-Acid with Hints of Boron. As you can see, the ladies are developing a healthy green, not like you could see in the weeks before. The plant in the left side suffered from Wind damage, I just hung up the Vent a bit higher and decreased the power.

CanOli95 Flowering Week 2 Plants are thriving and starting to develop budsites and leaves. The Area is crowded with leaves, might have to defoliate a week earlier than expected. Top screen looks a bit pale on the left side, so ich reduced the light intensity. I didn't use any fertilizer this week and you can see some brownish spots on the leaves at the upper parts of the plants. Next watering I will add some calmag and a bit of base NPK fertilizer:)

CanOli95 Start of Week 3 Flowering. I'm honest, plants look ok on first glance, but I expected more. The stems are weak , raven tough I added Silica. I don't expect much, let's just hope for the best. This week I used the regular Aptus scheme, let's see how it will turn out.

CanOli95 We're starting Week 4 of Flowering 🌺 Stems finally thickened and bud start growing denser. I increased light density and switched P boost for Plagron green Sensation , because I have a sample left. She is looking a bit thirsty for Phosphorus, which is plenty in there. Potassium is also contained , which will benefit the ladies. In my opinion, it overall looks like I should defoliate more, but I just cut of almost all the leaves from the bottom and she somehow needs to be able to synthesize more energy 😅 Anyway, except for Phosphorus, I think the leaves look pretty healthy in Nitrogen and Potassium. Stems also thickened, so Calcium should also be enough. I'm pretty sure, buds would have stacked more, if I had increased the light intensity a bit before, I think everything seems to be going alright for now. As we're starting Week 4, there is a string smell of sugar in the air. I'm looking forward to how it will increase and turn out later in flower 🌺 I also added a big dehumidifier, which is capable of working for 30 square meters.

CanOli95 We're hitting next week of flower. Sadly, I found some nasty bugs... This grow won't wish me luck 😅 I immediately ordered some killer bugs. I know it won't help get completely rid of them, but it should help for the most part and I will need to wash the buds after harvest. Still , I won't give them up, bad things happen, that's life.

CanOli95 We're starting Week 6 of Flowering. Predator mites came in and I increased the humidity slightly, which is good for the environment of the killer mites. Unfortunately, I had to check EC and pH, because I think something is off. I poured in EC 0,6 and got Drain EC 1,4 ,which is finde for this stage of flowering . Not to heavy, but also not too low. But the pH is off. Drain EC is 5,66, which is too low and explaines problems with phosphorus , potassium, magnesium and calcium, which you can also see in the pictures. I hope people can learn from the mistakes of my diary and do better in theirs. Letting pH go off is definitely something I should have checked before. Anyway , I don't give them up and started flushing with enzymes and plain water ( pH 7,8) to increase pH.

CanOli95 We're starting Week 7 of Flowering 🌺 So far, everything seems to be quite nice. Buds are becoming more dense and I can see milky trichomes. Leaves are fading, perfect time. Since the last pH was 5,6 in soil, I'm just using tap water with pH 7,8. Soil should have enough buffer capacity to rise up above 7 and they are not supposed to uptake too much nutrients anymore. I'll just let her ripe for another 1 to 2 weeks. Head buds looking really fine, I guess their time will come in the mentioned time. Maybe in a week I'm going to cut of most of the fan leaves, which allows the lower buds to get more light. In this case, they get another 2 to 3 weeks of flower for catching up. From what I can say from now about Happy Hour: So far I like the bud structure. Not too fat and not too stacked. When buds are lining up from the bottom to the top, I'm always anxious about possible bud rot. I also like the colours and the flavour. Not too loud, not too mellow. Just like "tea time" not "concentrate tea time". Nice sugary odor in the air, without overwhelming someone's nose. Also doesn't smell earthy at all, just a pleasant tea like sugary smell. From now on, no fertilizer is needed, I'll just let her metabolize the rest of the nutrients that's left.

CanOli95 Next week is about to start, let's get to it. Lady's are ripening and leaves are turning purple. I'm keeping the temps down and humidity in the middle range between 50 to 55 percent. I feel like dropping it below 45% is to much stress for them. From my experience, mould would even be possible below 40% humidity, so I don't the sense in pushing it more down and wasting electricity. Most of the trichomes are milky or halfway milky. I really have to search to find some amber one , also in the top colas. Might chop the tops on Saturday and keep the rest on an even canopy for about 1 to 2 weeks longer alive 💐

Week 20. Harvest
2mo ago
Happy Harvest Day!
Rated
7/10
Rated
Harvest Day has arrived In short: overall just rate it a 7 out of 10, at least for this run. Well, what can I say about this variety? I popped 3 seeds and all 3 germinated. Luckily, because these a Hella expensive. I bought them at Cannafair with a discount, but they were still 105 euros. Since Wizard Trees is considered premium, I expected a lot, which didn't show. One positive thing: every plant really looked the same. This should be standard, but it is not. If you look at other breeder, you often find different genotypes in the same batch. Shout out to Wizard for keeping breeding to what it should be. On the other hand , the plant itself is to sensitive in to nutrients in my opinion. A 4 week old plant should handle a bit more light and a grow mix. At least it's what I'm used to. The terps were also not that extraordinary. Sure, very sweet and nice to smell, but it's not something you never smelled. You can get that definitely for a cheaper price. The colours and bud structure on the other hand is really nice. Not to bulky, but also not to small. Seems easy to trim overall appeal I pleasant to watch. Since I took cuttings, I'll give it another try and judge it again. I also made some mistakes with to much light and to salty soil in the beginning. I'm looking forward to see if what comes out when everything just works out. Maybe I'll rate it higher then.
