Hello again.
Here's my setup:
2 x 4 Mars Hydro Tent
260watt HLG Qb equivalent to a 600w blurple
6" Can-lite carbon filter
6" Hyperfan Stealth
2 x 6" hurricane clip on fans
5 gallon smart pot as the final pot
12 ounce solo cup as starter pot
Using my own soil mix which consists of peat moss and perlite, cow manure and forest soil.
I amend my soil with cal mag supplement before the transplant and will be giving her from week 4 onwards.
Sticking to BioBizz nutes as always. Let's go!
- Day 1 she's finally decided to show up. If her seed casing is still on by tomorrow I'll help her out of it. Excited for this one.
- Day 2 she's shed her she'll and now we wait for her true leaves.
- Day 3 seems her true leaves got a bit damaged when coming out of her shell but I'm sure she'll pull through.
- Day 4 true leaves are growing now.
- Day 5 all good
- Day 6 all good
- Day 7 all good
- Day 8 she's going a bit slow but I suspect I was a bit too generous with the misting over the weekend.
- Day 9 she's coming along slowly
- Day 10 decided she's ready for transplant so I amended the final pot with forest soil which has a high content of gravel, sifted cow manure and ashes from the larger bits of cow manure which I burnt and some peat moss/Perlite mix. I also added calmag by Roots Organics and will be adding from end of week 3. Finally gave her a 1L watering with stims. We'll see tomorrow. Fingers crossed I got the balance right.
- Day 11 she's taken the transplant well and doing good for now.
- Day 12 1L plain watering today. All good!
- Day 13 all is well
- Day 14 1L plain watering today. Going well tho.
- Day 15 all is well
- Day 16 1L plain watering today. All good
- Day 17 all good
- Day 18 1L plain watering today. Looking good tho.
- Day 19 she's growing pretty fast! All good
- Day 20 1L watering with nutes and mycos. All good
- Day 21 all is well
- Day 22 1L plain watering today.
- Day 23 all good albeit slightly droopy.
- Day 24 a bit of LST today and 1L watering with nutes and mycos.
- Day 25 all is well
- Day 26 1L plain watering today. All good. She's bushing out proper now.
- Day 27 all good. She's curling a bit downwards so I must be overwatering a bit. I'll keep monitoring her tho.
- Day 28 turns out the curling was nitrogen toxicity. 1L plain watering today and some slight defoliation.
- Day 29 all good. Slight clawing from nitrogen toxicity but I'll just plain water her until she's recovered and give her some bloom nutes towards the end of the week.
- Day 30 2L plain watering in the morning since she was super droopy. She recovered nicely by the afternoon.
- Day 31 all good. Itching to give her some bloom nutes but I'll wait til the weekend.
- Day 32 2L plain watering in the morning and then some defoliation and clearing out of the popcorn bud sites. Let's see how she goes
- Day 33 she's recovered well. Seems she's even getting better after the Nitrogen toxicity. She's ready for bloom nutes and more goodies tomorrow.
- Day 34 2L watering with nutes, mycos and calmag today. All good. She's a bit droopy cuz I was a bit late watering her today.
- Day 35 slightly droopy today but she's okay.
Hello. Think I have a nitrogen toxicity from too much nitrogen last week. Been using only plain water so far but haven't fully flushed the plant. Any recommended solutions for me to get her back to being healthy? Thanks in advance.
Sure, stop all feeding and it will consume the excess in no time. Also, there's no need to feed yet with 5 gallon of soil, let the plant use what's on the soil and only when you spot a deficiency, then you start feeding low amounts.
- Day 36 found out the soil was drying too quick cuz of the fans. Angled them a bit away from the pots. Gave her 2L plain watering and some defoliation of the fan leaves. Hoping she picks up soon.
- Day 37 all good finally. She was looking well recovered today.
- Day 38 2L plain watering today. All good
- Day 39 another 2L plain watering as the soil was already a bit dry for my liking even after her watering yesterday morning. So hopefully today's afternoon watering irons out any issues I've been having with droopiness. Also defoliated a tiny bit.
- Day 40 all good
- Day 41 2L watering with nutes and mycos. Also tried to add the calmag by top dressing but it's so hydrophobic that I think I'm better off just adding it to the water. She's looking good tho.
- Day 42 she's finally looking perky and healthy. Found that most sativa dominant Autos give me a hard time with droopiness. Could also be the algamic that's helping out.
- Day 43 2L plain watering today. All good.
- Day 44 all good. Slightly droopy
- Day 45 2L plain watering today
- Day 46 all good. Slight nitrogen deficiency so she's got a feed due tomorrow
- Day 47 2L watering with nutes, mycos and calmag today. Starting to smell a bit. Hopefully she fattens out next week
- Day 48 all is well. Calyxes are starting to become more pronounced.
- Day 49 2L plain watering today. All good tho
- Day 50 all good. Gonna up her dosage a bit this week and see how she does. I'll see if I should cut the grow nutes
- Day 51 2L plain watering today. All good
- Day 52 all good. I'll give her a feed tomorrow
- Day 53 2L watering with nutes, mycos and calmag. All good though.
- Day 54 all good
- Day 55 2L plain watering today. Gonna let her do her thing now.
- Day 56 all is well
- Day 57 2L plain watering today. Looking good tho
- Day 58 all is well. Pistils have started to turn brown. Should be good in about a week or two.
- Day 59 2L watering with nutes, mycos and calmag today. Some leaves have already started to fade but I'm still going to wait for all her Pistils to brown before harvest.
- Day 60 all is well
- Day 61 2L plain watering today. All good.
- Day 62 all good. Removed a few of the more faded leaves and she's pretty much ready. Gonna wait for a little more brown Pistils but the trichs are pretty much 15% amber already. Amazing how fast she went!
- Day 63 all good. 2L plain watering today. Her last watering before harvest. It'll definitely be this week tho. Her smell is too tempting for me to resist any longer. Also cut some testers which should be ready in about 2 - 3 days.
She was a really nice plant to grow. Very sativa dominant and very stretchy. Highly recommend LST'ing to even out the bud mass amongst the other stems.
She smells super sweet and fruity when wet trimming. Not so much frost on the fan leaves but she's a sticky one for sure.
Ended up with 214.3g wet weight before trimming and 172.5g when trimmed. Hoping she gives a decent dry yield once trimmed further.
Excited to try one of Mephisto's main strains and it'll be interesting to see how she does when crossed with other strains.
I'll update once it has dried and give a final update once cured for 2 weeks.
Update: Ended up with roughly 45g of dried bud. Bit on the low side but I'll take what I can get.
After 2 weeks of curing all I've got to say is wow! This is one of the tastiest strains I've ever grown. Mephisto never disappoints. She's predominantly fruity and sweet with a bit of a cheese undertone to it. Weird I know but she tastes so good. Every time I open the jar I can't wait to go back in for more.
Her high is a long lasting energetic high. You won't be couch locked for sure but it's potent enough to chill with at night. If you decide to partake during the day make sure you space your sessions out as you'll be feeling high for quite a while after smoking.
Definitely growing this one again!
She was a pretty easy one to grow and very stretchy during flowering and can reach up to a metre in my opinion so train well. Not much defoliation required but she's a hungry one. She'll be dropping every time she's cranky so watch out for early signs of that.
A very well rewarding plant to grow with sweet, fruity and a cheesy undertone taste to the smoke. Definitely a must grow for all Mephisto fans.
