Started germination process on the 6th and 24h later all five seeds opened. Planted in soil on the 7th - rich soil (Syro) with a mix of perlite and just plain water.
Hi, they stretched a little too much due to low light conditions - been moving places and had to place them near a window. Now at the new place happy and growing. Still watering with plain water only.
The picture is from a week later, been very busy at work and with little time to update the diary. Gave them their first feed this week and they reacted really well, with lots of initial growth. First primary leaves started to get bigger. 3 plants show early start of faster developing.
This week they really perked up. At the start of the week i gave them only plain water and at the end of the week a nute feed. They loved it! The three stronger plants that are developing at a faster rate, topped them, the other two will top them Friday or Saturday. The stems started to gain consistency and rigidity and was able to remove the supporting sticks i had put in place to help the plants stay up right.
As the plants gained more rigidity on the stem and better rooting system, over the course of this week, that was starting to come out at the bottom of the pots, decided that it would be a good time to transplant them to bigger sized pots by the end of the week and start of the new one and initiate the flowering stage. For that i have finished setting up my grow tent with 600watt HPS lighting and clear out the tent for better space and room for the plants.
Over the last two weeks they really kick started the flowering stage and increased in hight substantially. Branches became very rigid and strong and plenty of bud spots showing. Smell increased slightly. This week did some foliation, 1st one, planning to do a final one in two weeks, maybe sooner. Plants started to drink up a lot. Last week they were drinking nearly a litre a day and this week we are going up to 37l/5.
After flushing them last week i notice that they became thirstier, up to 16l since yesterday sunday, today is monday 18h. Some of the bottom leaves, at the very bottom became yellow and consumed, tried to remove as many as possible. Here comes a question, should i remove all leaves and bud site below the scrog net? will post some pictures tomorrow morning tuesday to exemplify. Besides that they are looking pretty healthy and growing fine. Friday we are up to 52l/5
Your very late into flower next time just start taking leaves right before flower and then wait a week or two and then take some more 🌱🙏 happy growing hope she taste amazing
it's a bit late to remove the bud sites and leafs. Remember, for us it's just removing a leaf or two but for the plant it's HST ! next time you want to identify and remove the bottom two flower nodes as soon as possible, now you'll just shock the plant and make it vulnerable to mold - sorry for the bad news, but it's my best advice to learn and do it next time. Over the course of last week i noticed them getting fatter and bigger buds. The smell is getting stronger too. They are drinking even more than in previous weeks. Theoretically we are now on the last week where we keep feeding them nuts, will see how they behave during this week. They are looking amazing and with super heavy buds, becoming stickier and stickier, and nugs are hard as wood. I have been becoming happier and happier with the results i am getting this round. I have also stopped feeding them with Bio Grow (veg nut).
Last week folks! :) After this week they should be ready for harvesting. Not many changes over last week happening apart from them getting ripe, hairs turning orange and bud aspect becoming more mature. Over this will flush them with phed water and wait for harvest time next week.
Second grow and second time growing Big Kush from Dinafem. I am actually becoming a fan of this strain. During this grow i looked to improve on some of the growing techniques. I paid special attention to the feeding/watering of the plants as previously i was just pouring water with nuts in it. PH, always just enough amount of water per day and keep watering them at a steady pace on a daily basis. I also topped the plants, once to see the results of it. This had a great result from what i could observe throughout the run. In all i have doubled the yield, plants looked super healthy over all cycles and periods, no pests and a thriving and happy environment for the girls. Huge buds with a nice smelling aroma and super sticky resin. Is not a strain that gets super frosty but more on the orange bud side of things. Smoking it is extremely smooth, creamy and refreshing. It hits you firstly with a nice creative high and after gives you nice relaxed sleepy feeling to end the ride smoothly. Will be growing it over and over again for sure and looking to try the Big Bud strain to compare the differences between the two strains in terms of yield results. Thank you all for your support.
