Pushing into the last weeks!
Straight molasses this week, and they seemed to love it! They are all frosting up nicely, but the real tell of this week is how big the calyxes are swelling up. Ultimately I may have started the flush a week or so early, but such is the game working with new genetics, I'm not too concerned about a slightly longer flush time.
GN#1 - Still the tallest plant in the garden, more straight cylindrical spear like colas than the typical grenade/chunky colas. Very interesting bud structure compared to plant height. I've seen this type of bud growth before in plants that typically hit their growth/adding weight period in the very very last weeks, and with my suspicions of a 1-2 week longer flowering time (and from checking the trichs) that would seem to be the case for now. The smell is a deep skunky musk, not quite rubber or offensive like diesels or OGs but quite strong in it's own way. The trichs are less pronounced on this plant, though still abundant, and the buds underneath almost put off a blueish-green rather than a lime green on the other plants. Definitely a plant to keep an eye on over the upcoming weeks.
GN#2 - Hands down the producer of the bunch. If you're growing for production/quantity this is the cut you would want. Easily packing on the most weight and unless the #1 does some serious catch-up in the last weeks I don't see anyone else taking top spot from this plant. The double bonus with this plant is the frost factor, every single spot on the bud is coated in trichs. I'm really excited to see this one come down as I think it's bag appeal is gonna be very solid. The one weak spot it does have is that it has the weakest smell in the room, it does put off a deep skunk musk, similar to the #1 but weaker in overall depth/strength. Overall though I still think it will be able to bring it home in the bag/jar and fill that space with a good smell to match it's great looks.
GN#3 - Greetings from the tropics! This plant leans quite hard into the Island Sweet Skunk in my opinion. I love chems and deep funk smells but thank god this plant showed up to help break the trend. This plant REEKS like fruit punch roadkill, which is absolutely enjoyable. Probably the 2nd biggest producer in the garden and very frosty to boot, also one of the only ones that puts frost out far into the fan leaves giving it a nice shimmery appearance. This plant is very chunky and has a good amount of deep green 'cupped' leaves that I've seen on other Skunk varieties I've grown. This plant seems like it will be the earliest finisher and its fading faster and the trichs seem to be maturing a bit quicker than the other plants. Not sure whether it will be a 9-10 week plant though.
GN#4 - The cleaner. Brushing up against this plant unleashes the smell of pinesol, hell, even looking at the plant the wrong way unleashes the smell of pinesol 😃 This plant is definitely a bit smaller than the others but what it lacks in weight it makes up for in trichome production and smell. This plant easily has the best trich production out of the 4 and it's at the point the buds look almost white with trichs stacking on top of each other, filling almost all the available space. Both this and the #3 look very bubbly and bulbous as the calyxes are swelling which really give them an interesting appearance. From everything I've read about Chem 4 that's the pinesol leaner and finishes up in 11 weeks, so I'll keep an eye on this one for how long it's supposed to go. Seems like it could be the 2nd earliest finisher at this point though.
For the upcoming week I'm going to flip to straight water, this might result in a ~3 week flush for the #1, but should only be 1.5-2 week flushes for the other plants (assuming my timings right). Since I'm not growing for production, I'm OK with this loss of weight giving them such an early flush, but ultimately I'd like to run this strain properly and feed right up to the last weeks.
Anyways, thanks for checking out this weeks update! Happy growing to everyone 👽
@RussianPetrol, thanks man , yea the batch of oil is very strong , I took just 1ml of oil at 4 in the afternoon the other day and was still laying in bed at 2 in the morning buzzing like a bee lol just couldn't sleep , lol best part is this batch I made a full 1 ltr of it so will last me a very long time I added one Oz per 1 cup of oil so it's a nice one for sure ,
Looking awesome. I just popped a few GPS seeds a couple weeks ago, 2 Dreamcatchers and 2 Chinook Haze. Good to see a few other diaries with their seeds. They appear to have stellar genetics.
@buddha61, That's awesome dude! Good luck with your grow. I have a pack of Dreamcatcher as well so if you're doing a journal for those I'll definitely check it out, I'm really interested to see how those come out for you. This is my first run with GPS seeds but so far I'm really enjoying it, they're absolute frost factories. I'll likely pop some more GPS next round so we'll hopefully get to see how just how stellar the genetics are!
