Fox farms ocean forest soil into starter pots placed on a heat mat. Seed germination successful without soaking the seed. Some seeds were placed in jiffy pods that didn't make it. Mainly because I left the lid on too long which caused them to drown. No nutrients right now, just pH'd tap water.
No nutrients, just pH'd tap water. Transferred to a 1 gallon pot. LED is about 6 inches away from plant. Good growth so far, hopefully the transfer doesn't stunt growth. A few more nodes and I can start training by topping to the 3rd node.
Fed at 50% recommendation to see if I get any nutrient burn. After a week I'l try it at full 100%. End of this week 5 nodes, ready to be topped. Also noticed a fan leaf curling up shown in picture. Ill be monitoring the leaves if it starts to spread throughout the plant.
Flushed soil to give her a fresh start in flowering. Also decided to purchase a decent light since I already invested a lot of time and effort. I opted for a Viparspectra 450W for my small space which is perfect for this single plant. Constantly making the canopy flat by LST and super cropping. Some defoliation to give light to other bud sites.
Not much to do right now other than some LST to space out bud site a little better. Veg'd too long and ended up with more bud sites than I anticipated. Had to cut down some of them but still seems like a lot. I guess we'll have to wait and see how these buds turn out.
This week I decided to up the tiger bloom to see how she reacts. Buds are growing a lot, Internodes are almost filled in, and resin production is great. Had to make an adjustment on the light height due to some flowering stretch.
Finally got a chance to take my camera gear out and do a quick shoot. Last 3 pics are from day 26 of flowering in natural light. Hopefully they start fattening up.
Going into week 5 of flowering, the scent of fresh cut grass has changed to an earthy pungent smell. Pistils are changing to an orange color. Trichome production is great and some are showing some orange hues. Everything looks good so far!
It got really hot during this week but trichome production has significantly increased. I noticed that there are more orange/amber trichomes but majority is still glassy. I wonder if the heat had something to do with it. I'm guessing she has another 2-3 week before harvest and should start flushing next week.
Growing this strain with less than ideal conditions (high temp and RH) still turned out pretty well. With the stress of mainline training, this strain didn't show any growth stunts or any issues. I think I would have yielded more if I started with a better light during veg but it is what it is. Still happy with what I got. Hopefully I don''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''t run into mold issues drying the buds in low 60''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s% RH 😧 I will have to update on taste and effects in a few weeks. I just made my selections based on the smell.
Update 9/24/17 - got about 2oz of dried bud. They're in jars now still curing for another week before I sample the fruits of my labor.000
