Borberad Karibbean Mango Grow-Journal ​Our tropical expedition with the Karibbean Mango from Kannabia Seeds. According to the breeder, we can expect a strongly indica-dominant hybrid lady (75% Indica / 25% Sativa), where the legendary Black Domina has been crossed with a fruity Mango Skunk. Botanically speaking, this is an attempt to dress a massive Afghan tank in a Hawaiian shirt. ​The Karibbean Mango is expected to have a flowering time of moderate 65 days indoors. Outdoors, it would be due by the end of September – but our lady enjoys the luxury of a climate-controlled powerhouse. ​The genetics deliver solid 18–20% THC. This is not a strain that directly shuts down the central nervous system, but rather a deeply relaxing, narcotic couch-lock with a happy, cerebral skunk kick. Perfect for evenings when you actually had something planned but then decide to scientifically test the couch for its comfort. ​As for the scent: The terpene profile is a wild symbiosis. First, you encounter ripe, extremely sweet mango and tropical citrus, followed by a sour, earthy kush finish. So basically like an exotic fruit basket that has been stored deep down in the cellar of a hash pharmacy. ​Regarding growth: Due to the dominant Black Domina influence, it develops extremely thick, woody stems and short internodes. It is highly resistant to stress, absorbs nutrients like a champion, and delivers up to 500 g/m² of massive, rock-hard buds indoors without any issues. A morphological heavyweight. ​👉 Conclusion for the diary: We are dealing with a plant that combines the best of both worlds: The indestructible, compact growth structure of an old-school indica paired with a cutting-edge, complex fruit terpene profile. Now it’s time to turn on the light, start the germination protocol – and see how this tropical beast adapts to our setup. ​Week 1: ​The germination week 0.1 The germination of the Karibbean Mango has begun. To be prepared for surprises, this time 2 seeds are brought to germination directly, of which only the prettiest will be selected. ​Day 0.1: After soaking for 10 hours in 1% H₂O₂ (for enzymatic activation and disinfection), it’s time for the first biochemical steps in an Eazy Plug. ​Day 0.2: The osmotic phase begins. Water penetrates the seed capsule, we wait for the shell to break. ​Day 0.3: The first signs of phototaxis! The first seed is already pushing itself out of the substrate with its little helmet. The DLI has been prophylactically raised from 12 to 16, so that the cotyledons hit full photon batteries directly upon unfolding. Day 5 The amount of light on the lower level seems a bit low, and the little one is stretching quite a bit. Therefore, it is first placed in a new pot and closer to the lamp, so that it receives about 180 ppfd. Unfortunately, it is still the only one of its kind, in the swamp of carnivores. ​Fertilization & Measurements: No fertilizer or water needed.
