Got these C99s in the mail from female seeds through a Grow Diaries contest : dreams do come true ! "It's So Easy ! " That really speaks to me, and it really is ! At least it should be 🚀 So here we are with the C99s, using 7L pots going to transplant them once, amended my unamended soil with the biotabs line up. Got the biotabs from Grow Diaries aswell, it really pays to ask a lot of questions, folks, especially if you're really interested in the answer ! Biotabs account is @biotabs_f69 on growdiaries, havent said hello to female seeds yet, but they are here too folks ! activated the seeds in a glass with a few drops of the kelp extract concentrate. These all cracked quickly so 100% germination, then rooted in a starter plug tray in the propagation pupperware. Then a day or so later it was time to get to their first pots. Biotabs has instructions on the box which i followed to a T, learned from last time to position the tabs side by side with the seed (not on top of eachother like a psycho which is what i did last time!) , added the myco and the batrex to the soil, the myco also goes in the root plug hole, the bactrex and the startex also goes into the feed, it's all pretty simple and written down in the instructions ! I got a biotabs starter kit for my moms she loved it and figured it out so there you go... Watering like the others 200ml at a time slowly to not compact the soil up to 3 times a day. These will get a few diluted drops of smart protein once this week. These are my first photos ever, let me know if you have any questions ! 🚀
Set my lights to 55cm above the plants what is even going on in your grow though? that's what I want to know because i ended up running out of SWAMPMONSTER juice, not to worry , all is okay getting some just in time for flower.. what i love about this stuff is you can feed it, spray it, dilute it or not, it will never harm your plant in any way , you could pour out a 5000 dollar wine bottle of this stuff over your plants and they would thank you... i miss it already, still though like i said any amount of exposure will result in lasting benefits for example growth's vigor as you can see in the pics ! C99 is the one closest and to the right....
Hey guys, third grow first pheno hunt... i'm feeling sanguine aren't you ? which one of the C99s should i kill which one? who will have those deaths on their conscience, who??
Another week of decent enough growth, probably sheer inertia from the smart protein, got some more in now so hopefully these will get enough kick heading into flower, still doing my cycle looking for phenos is difficult though i dont know which one to keep, seems like it's a question of how many you run right? somebody's got to go though, who's it gonna be ? waiting for it , i did some light defoliation on all the plants including these c99s. saw some deficiency early symptoms so i added bactrex boom boom spray and orgatrex. they're going strong still small though i'm not complaining at three weeks i'm counting enough leaf nodes to enjoy myself. c99s are meant to be stocky, but my lights are way up i dont event know what to tell you, first time photo first time c99 so i dont really know what to expect ! Advice welcome ! 🚀
Oh cindy.... be mine ! They're all doing great , pushing out these typical sativa plant leafs, thin, long, real nice. this plant is squat but it got flipped a few days ago so lets see how it does with the stretch. Smell is getting serious by now, i dont know how that's going to work when i'm in the full flower probably i'll need a third extractor and a third carbon filter... the noise on these fans is insane though at 150W each it's not easy to stay in the room with the buzzing sound .... Did some training on these, two defoliations that "s a total of three so far. Funniest thing happened : i mixed my specialised micro (cal mag + "rare micro" like boron, mobi, etc) which is green powder with the Biotabs Orgatrex which is brown liquid and my feed ended up blue lol i still watered with it, so pray for my plants lol Veg is finally over ! Now it gets interesting ! 🚀
So this week is a flowering week for the C99, still the shotest in the bunch , stll got those elongated thin leafs growing, she's doing great, loads of flower nodes up and down the main cola and the side shoots too. Added some NPK and some Micro, got the smart protein on the go too. This one really like the extra light and the extra magnesium, she's really promising, really hope i get the result i'm dreaming of . Did a last defoliation last week, these took it in their stride, totally . Any advice is welcome, write me a message if you want
C99 is the one that suffered the most when it comes to the smart protein foliar spray. it's hard to say if this was due to if she's more sensitive to nutrients or not because smart proteins isnt nutrients and it isnt proteins. Remember though : i touch up these pictures using the magic want function on the imac... anyway these are really stretching + growing, hopefully not for too much longer because i want these to concentrate making flowers ; they look lush AF ! 🚀
Last week of smart proteins she got it once maybe twice by now, had a tough week not gonna lie the travails of the grower what are you gonna do 😅 drinking a bit, no nutrients yet, she might get a pk boost who the tf knows 😎 dropped her lights to 10/14 to induce resin production now these absolutely reak lol can't quite put my finger on it , sometimes it's really sweet citrus sometimes it's dankier 🚀
C99 came out pretty darn good despite the difficulties what I could keep had two phenos in it, one really tropical-fruity and citussy, one was really woody and lemony. The plant itself was grown with three weeks' veg, the seedling sprouted really quick, i had one seed with two seedlings in it, separated them at birth grew them both out, one was kinda runted though then it died like a couple weeks before the chop which came in record time. The flowing produced wide stocky plants that made landracey/sativa flowers but we indica in smell and taste. Those trademarked elongated sugar leafs made the plants a sight to behold growing it. The smell(s) came quickly starting in veg almost. I experimented with inducing resin production by lowering the lights last few days of veg then raising and lowering them again 3/4 weeks before the chop. This make these chunky nugs , with loads of resin, bag appeal is decent with the contrasting greens and pistils. Came down at 30% amber the high is really stick you to the waves of the universe, chuned in so to speak. I'll be making a solvent extraction diary soon with some of the cured stuff that's been left
Weight was on point, really it was and i'm happy with it, going mostly into extracts so i can keep going with learning all about the ancestral rituals of making plant juice. Got the vaporisers from arizer on the way, so i'm smoking twice as many joints in anticipation.
Used smart proteins at the start and half way through flowering.it definitely boosts terpene production and speeds up veg quite a bit,
Harvest went pretty well, it was fun having the boys over for some scissoring . Everybody really enjoyed themselves but i probably should have been stricter with the hygene, would be great to be able to rent out lab space for the day to get that steril environment going you know? Rap music and lab coats !
Love testing out genetics thank you so much , next round incoming ! 🚀
So this grow clearly a very neat grow, kept right on top of things with VPD, always in the optimal ranges even if i had to manually tinker with the mister , the exhaust, the fans, the lights.
Speaking of the lights i applied a "pumping technique" meaning moving the lights up a down : down going into flower, then up then down again towards the end of flower to trigger rippening.
The smart proteins were used through out the grow meaning the veg went nuts, started smelling loud right out of seedling stage, then at flower stretch i think it does help give it a kick, mid flower though it makes the trichomes rippen quicker than the plant can put on biomass, meaning you get strong , ripe colas that come out a bit thin.
Cut and harvested at 30% amber believe it or not, to me that's late but i couldnt believe it when i noticed the plant was ripe at 10 weeks so i let it go on a bit longer.
wet trimmed and dried over 10 days, Jarred and cured for 2 months.
I really can't decide between @thebudwhisperer 's and @hellishjam 's answer ... do you all wait until flower to choose or maybe take a cutting first? i can always reveg them right?
@Hellishjam, unfortunately my landlord's been trying to enter the lab, gonna beef up security and end up moving the lab after this run, so they'll all end up getting harvested, and i wont really be able to take cuttings and clones ... until i reopen the lab if i can... because clearly i'll have plenty of pot so...
@CRiSPrGrow, reveging IMO is tricky and a bit of a risk if ur looking to propagate a quality pheno. Def. with @hellishjam on this one. Snip ur clones prior to flower and wait on who shows as a front runner... in my Defense, I still really like the idea of a sacrificial chicken though.😉. Good luck homie👍😎👊
Hi @CRiSPrGrow! If you don't know yet which plant to select and which plant to kill, try to stress them all with various techniques. You can play on light intensity and expose them to a very intense lighting for a few hours, see how they react. You can play on temps and give them a very cold night, see how they react. Making them stress will help you selecting the strongest phenos. However, a real pheno hunt would involve growing them all to the end and include the taste/effects in your selection criterias. Let us know how this goes, happy hunting! 👊
@Stick, thanks man, it's my first pheno hunt, but i'm only now realising even 10 plants per strain is like... way not enough, not really not for a "real hunt"... maybe next time i'll see if i can get bulk seeds and some large tray tables and let's see lol
@hellishjam lol that's an idea but i just dont want so many plants you know... doesnt matter how big they are in my country ... i need your help to find which one, but i take your point about the smoke test, clearly that's the best and only way huh... i even got some phenos that cure differently from eachother lol
@CRiSPrGrow, haha we’ll picture number 7, those 4 bushy very nice looking ladies look to be the best looking to me! And if you are going to flower only one, find a spot on each 4 and rub the stalk, don’t pinch to hard while rubbing just enough to release some terps! no we’re not being dirty here 😂😂😂 then smell your fingers and you’ll get an idea how of they’ll smell and pick the best one that suits you!
Looks very nice i’m actually going to cross the c99 with frutilla haze should make up for a nice combination😉but no matter what the c99 is the queen of all haze’s for me😉😉😉
Hi @CRiSPrGrow!
Those in pic 7 seem to be doing pretty good... they look strong and healthy.
Also, pic 9 (are those C99 too?), those in the first two rows from the bottom seem to be going really well compared to the others.
Let us know how this goes on... we're more than curious! 😉
@Female_Seeds, ha thanks folks, i will do, they're all doing great but have been wrestling with the weather in Paris thinking of getting some sort of tech so i dont have to run around adjusting widgets all the time lol , these have probably another two weeks ten days veg from today so plenty of time left to light a candle in the church to pray for these gens
Can’t wait to start a full biotabs grow dude. I promised myself I’d clear all other grows I’m creeping before pickin up new ones but when u add a biotabs test run and c99 yeah - I got no choice but to follow buddy. Cheers and good luck!👊😎
@TheBudWhisperer, @biotabs_f69 is great so far, i think they've recently added some liquid nutes to their line up aswell, just what you need in flower, but then you kinda have to ship liquids with trucks which is so 2006 (that's an eco joke!) , best thing about a biotabs grow is that it's just water 90% of the time
@DILLIGAF, from our website:
"Years of experimenting with the original Brothers Grimm C99 led to the creation of our very own C99. The origins are difficult to establish, but it was a long flowering Sweet Tai landrace crossed with a short flowering Sativa. Most likely, the Durban Poison. "
Thank you! If you have more questions, just ask... :)
@Verlido, ahaha ! you realise this is my third grow ever right? you can see my previous ones in the diaries lol thanks for tagging along, it's already going much better than the last two times lol
@CRiSPrGrow, lol! Figures eh. Yeah dude - some gorgeous pics u got of er too. Real pretty leaves on er for sure👍. This strain is definitely on the grow list for me as well.
@TheBudWhisperer, yooooo thanks for writing me, you made me notice that i had accidently duplicated my T46s with the Cindies , it's all fixed now, MY BAD , hope you think the C99s are sexy still - let me know ! 🚀
