On Day 67, day 22 since the switch to 12-12, I removed all the growth tips and most of the leaves from around the base of the plant. This is part of the manifolding process. This prevents the plant from spending energy creating growth tips that won't get enough light and won't mature properly. The base of the plant also tends to be a busy place so keeping it clear allows air to flow through there the fans to do their work better. On Day 70, day 25 since the switch to 12-12, I think the stretch is about done. Overall, I give my manifold an A- or a B+. We'll see how it goes from here on. I'm happy with having 8 colas but their bases and symetricalness from the stump isn't perfect. Also, 6 out of 8 are within 1" of each other in height. So that's sweet. The other two aren't too far off but not perfect. I did a little more defoliation of leaves in the center of the plant today to help get light into the center of the plant. Not much to do but wait now.
