Day 1: 6/11/19 *Strain and Breeder is not as listed. I took these cuttings from a friends DWC setup. Strains were marked "Orange" , "Shangri-La", and "Golden Bean" -Transplanted clones into 2 gallon fabric pots -Watered in with about 100ml of water (ph was 6.3, added 1/2 tsp of GH CalMagic) -Running lights 24 hours into tomorrow as I was having difficulties with my timer, will address tomorrow Day 2: 6/12/19 -Lightly watered with half strength nutrients -Concerned about light leaking and bugs getting in through the passive intake screen. Open to suggestions. -Sprayed lightly with Neem Oil after work. Saw a gnat near the passive intake screen outside and decided to apply as a preventative. -Timers are back on track (18/6) Day 3: 6/13/19 -Watered with only ph'ed water -Concerned about the droopy growth from the front Golden Bean. She was turgid just yesterday. Thinking it could have been neem oil, over/under watering, or the fact that i sealed the passive intake screen but left the outtake on. -Turned off 300W light based on suggestion from user. Also altered fan settings to raise humidity, will check on this after work -The front Golden Bean perked back up after a few hours but now the Orange looks stressed. Need to dial in ppms better so I know everything is getting proper nutrients -Came home from work to find my roommate accidentally unplugged the whole setup for about 3 hours. They look okay but the timing of this mishap couldn't have been worse. -Found a tiny spider on the ground. Nothing appeared in the pots though. -Raised lights significantly since i saw some whitening at the tips Day 4: 6/14/19 -Watered with 5.5ph/185ppm nutrient solution. Think I will start amping that up as soon as they get a little healthier. -Raised lights even higher, approx 30 in now Day 5: 6/15/19 -No water for today. They dont appear to be drinking it all yet. -Removed dead or dragging leaves -Plants still look pretty beat up from the overheating. Noticed some new growth on the Shangri-la -Noticed small spots or holes in a few that look like potential pests Day 6: 6/16/19 -Watered with 6.3ph water only -They appear to slowly be greening back up, hopefully they continue to respond well to the light height Day 7: 6/17/19 -No water again today -Removed some more bleached leaves

200 ppms sounds sufficient. Ideal PH range for hydro (typically and this varies of course for strains and times of life cycle) is 5.8-6.2. PPMs are less important than having a proper PH. If PH is off, you will get nutrient lockout and your plant will have all sorts of issues. Slowly work your way up with the PPMs and remember less is more and not all PPMs are created equal haha.. Meaning 200 PPMs of grow feed isnt equal to 200 PPMs with bloom and a P/K booster.. So you can burn your plants or have deficiences even with a correct "PPM" because of nutrient imbalances and how the plant feeds. Happy growing! 👍💪

Day 8: 6/18/19 -Watered with a cup of 220ppm 5.9ph water -They are showing signs of recovery and new growth -Raised lights slightly as new growth tips are still a little burnt Day 9: 6/19/19 -no water for today -sprayed with neem oil as preventative -noticed the new growth showing signs of slight nutrient burn, excited about new growth though -vacuumed and wiped down tent -noticing either nitrogen toxicity curl or windburn, going to try and redirect fan and lower nutes. -going out of town for 4 days tomorrow so roommates will be taking care of plants. Day 10: 6/20/19 -going out of town today -each plant is getting 500ml of phed water Day 11-14 6/21-6/24 -ph water sat and mon -skipping nutrients for a day this week and see how they respond

Day 15: 6/25/19 -just got back from being out of town -roommate informed me nighttime temps got down to 61 for a night or 2, should be warming up this week -sprayed with neem oil -vacuumed and wiped down inside -lowered lights to 27in -removed damaged/dead leaves -noticing what i believe to be nutrient burn to some degree (nitrogen toxicity claw/yellowing tips/curling) -oscillating fan broke, replaced with fans blowing from both corners -turned on dehumidifer Day 16: 6/26/19 -watered with 500ml of phed water (substrate was still wet from yesterday but im attempting to fix some of the nutrient burn) -removed more burned leaves -some sort of fly (looked like a fungas gnat but only saw for a split second) flew into the tent this morning and after a lost battle i sprayed with neem oil again and went to work -came back from work and did a thorough check in the tent. wiped everything down with clorox Day 17: 6/27/19 -500ml of ph'ed water -they appear to be responding very well Day 18: 6/28/19 -watered eahc with 1L of nute water -going camping, going to give 500ml of ph'ed water before i leave Day 20: 6/30/19 -incredible growth while i was gone -coco still wet a few inches down, may not water tomorrow (3 days too much even if its wet a few inches down?) Day 21: 7/1/19 -installed 40 pt dehumidifier outside tent in attempt to lower humidity inside (my wallet is on fire) -no water again today, will feed tomorrow

Day 22: 7/2/19 -fed with nutes today (they looked very hungry) -sprayed with neem oil -found some minecraft looking silverfish type creature in the tent, killed it but can anyone identify it? -vacuumed and wiped down tent with clorox Day 23: 7/3/19 -topped and removed crowded foliage -coco was wet about 4 inches down so i will not water today, thinking about a light feeding tomorrow to help them bounce back Day 24: 7/4/19 -1L phed water Day 25: 7/5/19 -1L nute water -checked runoff and ph was 6.5 and ppms was around 95, over 50% runoff though so im going to lower the watering amount -responding to topping very well Day 26: 7/6/19 -no water -plants seem to thrive during the day but look slumped at night, anyone know why? root problems? hungry for nutes? *(after looking online I am not too concerned about the droop at night as this seems fairly normal) Day 27: 7/7/19 -fed at around 310ppms 5.8 ph -removed a few large fan leaves Day 28: 7/8/19 -no water, substrate moist a few inches down -trying more LST

Hey there basementgrow, yeah those bugs are afids, one of the best ways to get rid of them is with bacilus thungerensis (BT) and (BT israelis) , these are beneficial microbes that will attack and parasite the larvae of these afids. Second it doesnt look like you've have been overwatering because i can see the leafs are not puffy but that downwards drooping is a symptom of root problems probably from a combination of nutrients and overwatering before. So what i see is you're giving two different micro nutrients , you should really choose only one as they probably both have N in them which is probably what is causing issues in the root zone. Choose the one with the least or no N in it then make sure you give enough to maintain the calcium and magnesium intake. The roots will eventually fix themselves as long as you follow a strict wet/dry cycle, otherwise you can use a chelation agent such as enzymes or humic acid once a week and this should break down the problem roots and gve a boost to your plant. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Day 29: 7/9/19 -fed everyone between 600-800ml of ph 5.9 nutes -small fly snuck in while I was watering, sprayed with neem oil (anyone have thoughts on using this product?) -noticed fairly minimal runoff so i'll start adding more water -vacuumed and wiped down tent -found a little hole, going to continue monitoring for bugs Day 30: 7/10/19 -fed 7-800ml which looked about 10-20% runoff for everyone -thinking about going on the nutes everyday with a big flush before flower, i will monitor close for excessive burning and potentially flush once before that as id say flower is still 2-3 weeks out (shooting for 2) Day 31: 7/11/19 -fed 500ml each because i was in a rush, still got runoff -removed a rust looking leaf, could anyone identify this in pictures? Day 32: 7/12/19 -500ml feed for everyone -removed some leaves -growth looks wonderful Day 33: 7/13/19 -500ml feed -think i found spider mite eggs -sprayed neem Day 34: 7/14/19 -600ml feed -noticed runoff ppms was about as high as the feed, what does this mean? Day 35: 7/15/19 -no water

Day 36: 7/16/19 -1L feed (golden bean didnt even runoff) -switched to transition nutes -sprayed a few leaves with neem, saw some discolored spots -very excited to switch to flower -night temp hardly differs from day temp, is this okay? Day 37: 7/17/19 -1 L feed (little more for golden bean) -broke a branch on the golden bean, repair seems to have taken Day 38: 7/18/19 -800mL feed, 1L for golden bean -repaired stem appears to be recovering Day 39: 7/19/19 -decided no water today, coco was moist a few inches down *Day 40: 7/20/19 -transplanted all 4 girls today from 2gal to 5gal, watered in with 1 gallon same nutes plus a light GH rapidstart feed -working with the fabric pots was a bit tricky and i ripped a small amount of roots off each plant, hoping this doesnt affect them too bad. they seem stable after a few hours -turning on my 300W Viparspectar LED as the 600W will not be enough to push all four through flower, slightly different spectrums between the two lights so we'll see how each side fairs Day 41: 7/21/19 -1 gallon feed, lot of runoff so i need to dial in the new watering schedule -dropped scrog Day 42: 7/22/19 -2 girls in the back got a 2L feed, still too much runoff -1.5L feed up for 2 up front was closer to 20% runoff

Day 57/F15: 8/6 -removed a few fan leaves -raised lights as high as they go, hoping vertical growth haults soon -feeding each 1L before and after work (in a rush) -CRAZY WATER LEAK DIRECTLY ONTO TOP OF TENT, it was damn near raining through the inline opening. very concerned with how this will be resolved, seems to be leaking from my bathroom above Day 58/F16: 8/7 -put a kiddy pool on top of tent for leak lol -GB 3L feed -BD 2.5L feed -shang/orange 1.7L feed Day 59/F17: 8/8 -GB 3L feed -BD 2.5L feed -shang/orange 1.7L feed Day 60/F18: 8/9 -GB 3L feed -BD 2.5L feed -shang/orange 1.7L feed Day 61/F19: 8/10 -GB 3L feed -BD 2.5L feed -shang/orange 1.7L feed *no runoff today, will stick with same amounts tomorrow before i increase *noticed some browning on the pistils at 2 budsites, somewhat concerned about this Day 62/F20: 8/11 -GB 3L feed -BD 2.5L feed -shang/orange 1.7L feed (increase shang to 1.8 tm, shang put on incredible growth during stretch which i think is virtually over) Day 63/F21: 8/12 -did as much of the day 21 defoliation that i could. difficult to reach the shang in the back but hopefully i opened up enough space -in a rush, doing 2 waterings today: -GB 2L feed -BD 1.5L feed -shang/orange 1L (each getting another 1L after work)

Im planning on my final defoliation to be on Day 21 flower. Should I remove every fan leaf/any leaf not directly attached to the bud or is that too much? How do some of you go about your final defoliation?

Hey I think removing every fan leaf is going to be too much. The only defoliation you want to do at this point is anything that is directly blocking budsites from getting light and to make sure the plant has enough air flow to prevent moldy buds. When your plant reaches maturity at the end of flower it pulls all of the nutrients out of the fan leaves to feed the flowers and bulk them up. If you dont have enough fan leaves then it will start pulling nutrients out of your sugar leaves and you can end up with brown leaves in your buds. It will affect the flavor and final product. Hope this leads you in the right direction. Good luck!

Had a lot of fun growing these girls. They went through a lot off the bat due to my inexperience. Learned a lot during this run and it was extremely rewarding to nurse them back to health. I am very pleased with this grow for it being my first run. I had no expectations as I am just starting to learn and want nothing more than to acquire knowledge. The quality and yields will come once I get more dialed in. Once these girls got healthy they had no problems for the whole grow. I am already planning improvements for future systems and am extremely excited to continue on my grow journey. Thanks to all who helped me out.
