Selkot We're expecting a scorching summer here in northwestern Europe, so I figured I'd try my luck with a small outdoor run 😎
I received several free seeds from Fast Buds, so I decided to pop a 1-pack of Strawberry Gorilla.
I picked up a small €20 greenhouse and went with a fabric pot filled with a homemade garden mix: 70% orchid potting mix, 15% clay pebbles, and 15% all-purpose potting soil.
Germination in a peat pellet only took 3 days. That small layer of inert peat will act as a buffer between the seedling and the substrate during the first couple of weeks. For now, she's getting nothing but plain water with a little Voodoo.
So far, she seems to be adapting really well. After the first 7 days, I haven't seen any signs of early nutrient burn.
For pest control, I'm keeping things nature-based: companion planting with cherry tomatoes and basil, both of which help repel different kinds of pests. And of course, a few sticky traps for the more adventurous visitors 😏
