After two auto-flower grows, I have decided to go photoperiod this time. Got a new QB 288 Samsung LM301b V2 3000K, which I hope will get me better yields. Other than that, everything was going well first week.

2nd week of my seedling started with my first issue with this grow. To this day the issue is: very bright green colour of the seedling and stunted vertical growth. First I thought it might be that the light is too close to the seedling. So I hung the light for three days 70cm above the seedling. As I couldn't see any change in colour of the seedling, I hung the light for another three days 80cm above the seedling, but the issue persisted. I have then hanged the light down back to 60cm, as I don't think that the issues were caused by light being to close to the seedling anymore. What I know is that at least one issue was caused by my mistake. While hanging the light 70cm above the seedling, I was also worried it could be the nitrogen deficiency, so I have fed the seedling more than I would normally do. This I believe has caused the stunted growth. What is the cause of the very bright green colour of the seedling remains unknown to me for now.

As I thought that the issues from past weeks were not caused by the light to plant distance at all, they partially were.. I have since moved the light to 90cm above plant. Adjusted my feeding schedule and she's doing a lot better now.

Moving the light and being more careful with my feeding was a good decision. She's doing well this week. I plan to start mainlining by the beginning of next week.

I feel like this week went really well in terms of mainlining and low stress training, but I also feel like that growing under 3000K QB light is bit slower than I have expected in comparison with 4000K QB light. PS: The most accurate green can be seen in picture of Day 35.

I have topped the plant for the third (and last) time this week on Monday. She has recovered within a week and looks healthy to me. I'm currently feeding her 2l of nutrient water pHed to 5.8 every two to three days. No issues this week at all.

I've been dealing with some kind of a deficiency for the past week. At first I thought it might be a magnesium deficiency, because I've put less CalMag to my feeding, but I'm not so sure about it. It also could be just a wrong pH of the coco. I only pH test my feeding water and not the runoff, so I don't really know, but I'll test the runoff asap to find out if this is the case. Anyways, I've decided to introduce FloraGro to my feeding from the next week, so that might help as well.

This week I have noticed little white larvae of fungus gnats on surface of the coco coir. This fact confirms for me that it must have been already in the coco when I've bought it as I had this issue with two of my previous grows with the coco from the same bag and I've been extra careful with wet and dry cycles this time. I will probably try to get rid of the larvae with the help of nemaplus (steinernema). I've lollipopped the plant this Thursday. I went with a 50% shave. She's doing great, I just hope she's gonna stop stretching soon.

For the past two weeks I've had issues with low temperatures in tent (60F) which I'm trying to solve by turning the heat in my apartment. This issue seems to have taken an effect on the speed of the buds development. I've also added more coco to the pot, something I had on my mind for quite some time, but couldn't get to it sooner. And I plan to give her some molasses next week, which I hope will help her absorb nutrients better, therefore bigger buds.

I've fixed the temperatures this week. It's steady 70s day and night. As can be seen in Sunday's photos, her leaves started yellowing. I believe that this was caused by her not having any nutrients ever since Monday, as I've given her only molasses on Wednesday. I'll feed her on Sunday, so I hope the yellowing will stop. I've also done some minor defoliation of leaves blocking the light to lower buds and I've moved one cola (the shortest) more to the middle. Also I've added some more coco to the pot, which I had on my mind for quite some time, but have forgotten about it. Anyway, I think the buds are developing nicely, HSO recommends 70-75 day of flowering, which means she's hopefully gonna flower for at least another 4 weeks. Can't wait to see her gain some more bud weight.

After I fed her last Sunday, the yellowing continued, so I've tried to do a flush with 20% nutrients in order to fix the pH of the medium, as I believed this could be the issue. Unfortunately it seems like it wasn't as the the yellowing continued the following days. Now I'm more convinced it actually is nitrogen deficiency, which could be caused by me giving the plant late bloom mix too soon or could be completely normal. On Saturday I gave her mid bloom mix and I'll monitor the issue closely.

This week I have to mention that the previous yellowing issue could be also caused by fungus gnats infestation. When I was feeding this week, I have noticed dozens of larvae deeper in the coco. However I haven't noticed any adults, which is strange. I'm also not aware that I would be overwatering, so I don't really understand how an infestation (if it is one) took a place in my garden. It's really hard for me to say if the slower buds development and yellowing of the leaves is normal (genetics), or it is the infestation or something completely else. If anyone has any thoughts about it, feel free to share. Thanks.

Unfortunately this week I found out that one of the main colas had a grey mold. I've since removed the affected buds from the plant as well as a lot of yellow dying leaves. My guess for the mold would be lower temperatures (from a few weeks ago) combined with a raised humidity (after feeding). I've ordered a humidity controlling socket and a dehumidifier and I am going to use this equipment for all of my future grows. Apart from bad news, I've found out an interesting fact too. The stems of the trichomes are purple here and there :)

After removing the moldy bud and after I've starting controlling the humidity at around 40-50% RH (properly this time), I feel like she's doing better. At least in terms of smell. She smells stronger now. In terms of harvest, I've harvested the small popcorn buds and I plan to harvest the rest of the plant at the end of the next week, as I've already started flushing.

Sprinkle the top of your medium with Diatomaceous Earth! Micro-Silica powder that kills the gnats but no chemicals to harm/taint flowers this late in flower. Acts as silica supplement when watered/mixed in 💪

@nubrinnah, I'm using it right up until the end to avoid anything getting attracted to the Molasses/Water, Just turn off your fan for a second to avoid it blowing everywhere and sprinkle on the soil/around base of plants, fan back on 👍 There is a Doktor Doom brand one that has a nice nozzle for application

What can you say, even smelling that mold when you open the tent feels bad. Sorry for your loss, after my recent grow with bud rot I desided to invest in proper dehu's and use those for future grows, just like you did. Nobody wants to waster those beautiful top nugs! Keep it growing, sucks but we always keep on growing! Peace!

@@WeedbayGardens, thanks bro. You’re right, proper dehumidifier is a must. I’ve bought one that is able to suck 12l per day and has 2l container. It’s full in just half a day. I was very surprised how much moisture is there in my room.

Your plant is low in Nitrogen. Verify your PH pen also, it’s important to re-calibrate every month or so. I’ve had to learn the hard way. Your plant will bounce back and you should see your leaves go back to a darker green once its absorb N

@GreenHouseLab, hi man, thanks for your advice. I've just found out that the light causes the leaves to appear very bright lime when in reality it's dark green as it should be (first time using this light). Yeah I agree that it could be N deficiency as you're saying so I'm feeding her some FloraGro. It does look like she's doing better.
