6/23:
I floated a single Gelat.OG bean today. It's the only photoperiod variety in my Summer outdoor grow.
Once it sprouts I'll sprinkle it with great white and plant it in a rockwool cube. Once I see a good amount of roots sticking out I'll sprinkle the roots with mycotrex and plant it in a 5 gallon pot that's already prepared with startrex and silicium. I'm also gonna be using biotabs, orgatrex, bactrex, mycotrex, boom boom spray, PK booster compost tee, bud candy, and terpinator in this grow.
I've got a new outdoor faucet timer that I'll have run a soaker hose for 10 minutes at a time, several times per day through the hottest part of the Summer. (105f-110f), and she will be located in a fairly shady spot, so hopefully my Gelato doesn't completely "melt"😁
TUESDAY:
The seed sunk and cracked open but has yet to stick her tongue out at me...
For stealth purposes, simplicity in transfer to the grow site, and to give the seedling an advantage, I've decided to transfer the rockwool-cubed seedling from the dome to a 6" pots (1/2 gallon) that I've prepared with startrex and silicium flash. I'll grow the seedling under my 2000w blurple light for a couple of weeks before taking her outside. I should be able to carry her and the rest of the seedlings in a big box out to the site without injuring them. This will give me time to start sneaking the big pots out to the site. I'll pre-mix the startrex and silicium flash on-site and add the mycrotrex when I transplant her to the 5 gallon pot and give her a good douching with bactrex and orgatrex to get her started well.
My soil has been re-charging for several months with tons of good stuff added (earthworm castings, bat guano, azomite, biochar, bokashi, nectar for the godz one-shot and myco). I only have enough biotabs for 5 x 3-gallon pots, so I'm gonna use Osmocote Plus for this plant. It's 15-6-9, so a little higher in N than I like, but this stuff kicks ass on my flower beds and hanging baskets outside so I think it might be just fine. She'll at least get the orgatrex, bactrex, boom boom spray and pk booster compost tea, bud candy and terpinator, so no worries. I figure that I'll probably fix up the first batch of PK booster compost tea right away and douche her with it in their first week outdoors. Every little thing I can do to help her strengthen for the oncoming heat she'll experience...probably some extra kelp too...
FRIDAY 7/5:
The first one never happened, so I germed another one and it popped right up.😀
SUNDAY 7/7:
I planted the one that came up in a temporary pot with some mycotrex..grow baby grow!🙏
SUNDAY 7/14:
She's slow, but is starting to show some growth...finally...
TUESDAY:
She's doing well now, but her leaves are very weird..rounded edges, hardly any serrations.
WEDNESDAY:
I transplanted her into a 5 gallon pot today and watered her in with about 3/4 gallon including Kelp Me Kelp You, Azomite, Dolomite, and Biochar. I also sprayed her a few times with the Boom Boom Spray. She seems to be digging the sunshine.😀
THURSDAY 7/18:
I FIM'd her today. She's growing quickly now.. but looking at her, I'm still not so sure it wasn't really a spinach seed😂
But seriously, I'm thinking that I used too much Mycotrex or Great White while she was still too young or something. Her roots were looking awesome when I transplanted her, but she's got some weird-looking foliage..
FRIDAY:
Inspected for pests and repositioned her in a spot that gets another half hour of sunlight per day. I sprayed the area with Ortho again and bought a little air bubbler to aerate water for compost tea.2
SATURDAY:
She put on a couple of inches since Thursday. I mixed up a fairly weak batch of Big Bloom and Grow Big plus some Kelp Me Kelp You and douched her with about a half-gallon right as the sun was coming up. I also prepared a foliar feed using Big Bloom and Kelp Me Kelp You and sprayed her well as the sun came up, and again after it was going down. I also started aerating 4 gallons of water today...will add the compost tea tomorrow morning and let it cook for 24 hours.
SUNDAY:
I foliar fed her and sprinkled little more Silicium Flash on top of the soil of all my plants and mixed about 4 grams of Bactrex into a jug with 3/4 gallon of bottled water and douched all my plants with about 2 pints each. That should really get the beneficial bacteria and fungus kicked into overdrive.
I started brewing a 4 gallon batch of compost tea today. Since I don't have any Orgatrex, I am using a little Big Bloom, Kelp Me Kelp You, and Grow Big in the tea in addition to the PK Compost Booster tea from Bi Tabs. I'll add Mycotrex to it about 2 hours before it finishes and thoroughly dowse them all tomorrow morning.
MONDAY:
She got about a a liter and a half of freshly brewed compost tea and a foliar feeding right after the sun came up. She's a happy camper.👍
TUESDAY 7/23:
I foliar fed her and checked her for bugs today. Nothing much to report...
WEDNESDAY:
I foliar fed her and gave her a little douche of Bactrex early this morning. Also inspected for pests and All my plants are stretching more than I'd like because of the limited sunlight, so I looked for strategic branch-removal opportunities to increase their period of direct sunlight. I used my pole saw and removed a few smaller branches above her and to the West. I will visit again this evening and see if it is allowing some evening sun to reach her.
We had a cool front come through today, so the high will just be 87f and it's dropping to the mid to low 60's tonight..hooray! They're forecasting another day or two like this before the return to "oven-like" conditions.👍
THURSDAY-SUNDAY:
She's growing like a weed now...doubled in height in the past 4 days. I just watered and foliar fed Thursday, foliar fed on Friday, foliar fed let her dry out some more on Saturday, and douched her with compost tea on Sunday.
MONDAY:
I only stared at her and took a photo today...tomorrow begins week 5. It's still about 7.5 weeks from the autumnal equinox, so she's got plenty of time to bush up.
TUESDAY 7/30:
She's healthy, but I wish I could get her to bush up a little better. Just not enough direct sunlight. If she ever grows some branches, I'll do a little pruning and LST on her..
I gave her a little sip of water with some Kelp me Kelp you today and ran the new sprinkler/soaker hose for about 15 minutes during the hottest part of the day. It didn't blow out like the last two..I'm optimistic, but if it does fail, I'll employ a suggestion from @GreenMachine and hook a small section of 1/2" clear polyvinyl tubing onto my garden hose, cap it off at the end, and poke holes in it to create my own heavier-duty soaker hose.
WEDNESDAY:
She got a drink of Bactrex today, but that's it. Compost tea tomorrow. One of the many little frogs in the area emerged from her nice cool soil today while I fed her....ya see...I train them to kill the bugs for me.😉
THURSDAY:
Temperatures have climbed back above 100f, so she's drying out pretty quickly now. She got about a 3/4 gallon douching with some killer compost tea that I brewed up for a couple of days.
Besides the PK Booster, it included Big Bloom, Kelp Me Kelp You, Great White, and I added some Bembe for the sugars and carbs, plus all the additional earthworm castings, and bat/seabird guano it contains. I shored her up with a bamboo stake because we're expecting some heavy winds.
FRIDAY:
The FIM-job didn't seem to take, so today I did an apical pruning on her..hopefully that kicks her auxins into gear and she does some lateral branching for me. She hadn't dried out yet, so I just ran the soaker hose for about 5 minutes today. I'll let her go dry for a couple days.
SATURDAY:
It rained this morning about an hour after I foliar fed her with boom boom spray and big bloom.
SUNDAY:
I let her dry out today and probably will again tomorrow.
TUESDAY 8/6:
I put her inside a tomato cage in anticipation of needing to support her massive buds over the next couple of months. Humidity was very high for the past couple of days, so she isn't drinking as much. No water for her today.
WEDNESDAY:
At dawn, I fed her about a half gallon of water with some open sesame, bembe, big bloom, kelp me kelp you, great white, and terpinator. If she's dried out enough at dusk, I'll give her another half gallon.
THURSDAY:
I fed her about a half-gallon of water with a little bembe and terpinator right before the sun went down.
FRIDAY:
I foliar fed her with some big bloom and boom boom spray early this morning. I took some photos today and observed some preflowers on her. One of my other plants had some kind of chewing damage on a couple of her leaves. Probably a grasshopper..no caterpillars or crickets that I could find, but I sprinkled more granular insecticide and sprayed more Ortho on all the adjacent earth and greenery.
SATURDAY:
I fed her about a half-gallon of compost tea that I brewed for a few days, including big bloom, bembe, terpinator, great white, and kelp me kelp you.
SUNDAY:
She's put on another few inches in the last couple of days...if she stretches mutch while flowering, I'll have to supercrop her to keep her below the camo netting..
MONDAY:
Last day of week 6. She's popped a few more pistils. I wouldn't mind it a bit if she is, but it still seems too early in the season to really be flowering.
TUESDAY 8/13:
She grew another couple of inches overnight and popped some new pistils..maybe she IS starting to flower!
I fed her a gallon with grow big, big bloom, kelp me kelp you, bembe, terpinator, and great white today. It will probably be her last big dose of Nitrogen.
WEDNESDAY:
It rained a little bit last night and despite being very sunny, the temperatures were about 10 degrees cooler than usual. I see some spider mite damage on the plant next to her, so I'll be spraying all the plants with trifecta crop control as soon as the humidity drops again.
THURSDAY:
I wasn't able to visit her today..😟
FRIDAY:
She really IS flowering!!! She'll definitely have time to finish before potential frost issues can occur...love it.👍 I sprinkled some bat guano and silicium flash onto her soil and watered it in with about a half gallon of water including beastie bloomz, terpinator, and bembe. I also thoroughly sprayed her with boom boom spray. I started brewing another batch of the PK booster compost tea including extra bat guano, earthworm castings, bembe, big bloom, and kelp me kelp you. It should be ready on Sunday.
SATURDAY:
Went boating...no time for gardening.
SUNDAY:
It was 108f today...miserably hot....I douched her with about a half-gallon of compost tea...
MONDAY:
She stretched another inch or so..
TUESDAY 8/20:
She's still stretching a little bit every day, but it looks like she's mainly focused on branching, which is very welcome. 👍
WEDNESDAY:
I didn't water today because I want her to dry out completely..probably tomorrow.
THURSDAY:
She was almost completely dry by noon, so I turned on the soaker hose for about 10 minutes just so she wouldn't burn up. I am watering tomorrow with bactrex, bembe, and terpinator.
SATURDAY:
I fed her a half-gallon with bactrex, bembe, terpinator, and armor si.
TUESDAY 8/27:
It rained most of the day so I didn't go down to check on her.
WEDNESDAY:
It rained more this morning, but was sunny the rest of the day. She continues to branch out and pop pistils. Looks healthy and happy.👍
THURSDAY:
Just gave her a quick look-over...hot day..
FRIDAY:
She's still very heavy, so I won't be feeding her for another day or two. She grew another couple of inches. I foliar fed her with boom boom spray and big bloom at dawn, and went back down to take photos while she was basking in the sun.
SATURDAY:
Did nothing...
SUNDAY:
Did nothing again..
MONDAY:
I cleaned my aquarium filters today and used that water along with all the normal feed and fed her about 3/4 gallon.
TUESDAY 9/3:
She's still branching out and budding up.👍
WEDNESDAY:
I was out at the property for awhile today, hosed off the horsies and cleaned their hooves really well. I was there long enough that I was able to move the plants into direct sunshine for an extra couple hours. I fed her with a half-gallon of water including bembe, terpinator, tiger bloom, beastie bloomz, armor si, and big bloom...just enough to wet her whistle.
THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY:
I was sick as a dog . 2-day stomach virus, followed by an acute pancreatitis attack...
😷
MONDAY:
I gave her about a half-gallon of aquarium water with some bembe, beastie bloomz, and tiger bloom.
TUESDAY 9/10:
She was dry as a bone today, so I watered her really well with just plain water. I also took a sprinkler down there and swapped out the soaker hose for about 30 minutes of "pseudo-rain" with the well water. She'll go dry til Saturday when I give her some compost tea with a some rich composted material, a bunch of bat and seabird guano, earthworm castings, endo and ecto mycos, trichoderma fungi and beneficial bacteria, biochar, kelp me kelp you, terpinator, big bloom, beastie bloomz, and bembe.
WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY:
I had company in from out of town and just set the soaker hose on a timer for about 10 minutes per day to keep her alive.
SATURDAY:
I fed her about a gallon of frothy compost tea that I brewed up for 3 days...compost with biochar, fox farms cave culture bat and seabird guano, kelp me kelp you, soluble dolomite, bembe, humates, liquid molasses, terpinator, and a good blend of endomycorrhizae, trichoderma fungi, and beneficial bacteria...yummm...
Not sure what happened, but when I went to check on her on Tuesday, she was damn near dead. I flushed her with a couple gallons and came back the next day and she looked worse. She was the last plant, and I couldn't justify spending the time trying to save her, so I cut her down and hung her up to dry. She was about 2 weeks premature I'd say..pretty frosty, but meager amounts of flower.
