Day 0, 29/06/19: seed germinated a small tap root over night after 36 hours. Used hingro method. Following santacabrera guide to pot it, watered with 2L of bottled water ph to 6.5 to presoak soil before planting. Other main change from before is used all light mix. Day 1, 01/07/19: Helmet head poked up yesterday, dropped a few drops of water on it this morning and the initial leaves broke out a few hours later.

Day 16, 16/07/19 - good week, no issues other than slight magnesium deficiency. Added .5 of plant magic to 1L water for her feed towards end of week 2. Still seeing it on new leaves so will try upping to 1ml next watering. Seems similar to my last grow though I’m using better ph management and bottled water. Wonder what else I’m missing... also starting to smell quite strong, filter doing the job 👍 Finally, today I bumped the light to 80w. Hopefully it takes it well

22/07/19, Day 22: Light now at 100w, no signs of stress so far. Started today with 1/4 dose of biobizz grow and half dose of heaven. 2L which gives no run off, would consider giving another litre at this stage but need more bottled water. Doing some leaf tucking to expose the pre flower sites. 25/07/19, Day 25: Plant is growing vigorously, bigger than I would have thought for sour crack. Did some minor branch spreading to help them get the best from the light and space. 26/07/19, Day 26: Moved into flower now, gave second dose of nutes (including flower nutes) yesterday again at 1/4 strength. Plant had an amazing response to these, leaves were erect and praying right up an hour or two after watering. Bumped light to max today (161w), currently sitting at 17", interested to see if it can take it. May have to dial down again if the temps get too high.

29/07/9, Day 29: went into flower mid-late last week. What I thought was a magnesium deficiency I now think may be zinc. The runoff yesterday was 7.11 despite everything that’s gone into the pot has been lowered to 6.5. I’m hoping I can get a handle on it before it impacts yields too badly. Lowered the light back down to 100w as the top leaves were cupping down and plant was starting to droop. Will try slowly bump back up once get the rest under control. 01/08/19, Day 32: Pot felt light today so watered with 3L bottled water still with half strength nutes. Used vinegar to see if it holds the ph any better, went in at 6.0 and runoff (minimal) was 6.63. Also full strength calmag today.

From the start I’ve been watering with ph 6.5. I just discovered my runoff is 7.1 and I have what I believe to be a zinc deficiency. Similar issue on my previous grow. How can I fix my watering routine such that the ph stays more stable?

Hey there Paul, sorry to disappoint you but you most likely don't have zinc deficiency! Such a deficiency is exceedingly rare in soil, mostly it's a "lab" thing, and in your case it's not what's affecting you. You have two issues: burnt tips and Mg deficiency. Burnt tips are from a (slight) excess of NPK fertiliser, most likely the nitrogen. The yellowing you're seeing well that's the Mg part. I see you're on a 24hrs light schedule. There's a very good reason you don't see any successful grows with 24hr light schedule: the plant goes into overdrive and needs more nutrients especially mg which is used to regulate photosynthesis when it's lights on, so even though you've been feeding Mg, well the plant just needs more. The plant's now stressed and the problem will start spreading eventually becoming pretty bad the leafs will burn on starting with the edges. For sure you'll need to reduce the light cycle and I suggest reducing it to 18/6 to reduce stress, but I know you'll end up reducing it to something less than that. Try also making a foliar spray with your calmag and spray the plany shortly before lights on. Increase it in your feed too. For the pH issue, I see you're pH ing down, hopefully using a store bought pH down and not some kind of homemade pH down recipe. Next feed cut out the algamic all together because it will raise your soils pH and it contains N in it which are two of your problems. Hope this helps ! 🚀

5/8/19, Day 36: nothing major to note, plant seems stable and doing well after the last watering using vinegar for the ph. New growth seems green and mostly undamaged. Removed a couple more lower leaves and bud sites as part of the gradual lollipopping. Smells like sour lemon sweets and mint. 6/8/19, Day 37: watered with 3L using week 5 of the biobizz schedule still at half strength. May push to full strength next week. Not going above 1ml grow, calmag is full strength. PH in: 6.0, PH out: 6.7. Note, the run off from 3L watering is minimal, approx 50ml. 10/8/19, Day 41: picked up some new biobizz ph down, new to the range! It seems to work great so am thrilled to have it. Watered today with full strength, no grow though as new leaves are quite dark. Ph in: 6.01, ph out: 6.5x

19/08/19, Day 50: Buds are developing nicely, still hoping for a bit more weight in the next week or two though. A few pistils starting to turn amber. Hard to see it being ready in 10 days but a lot can happen in that time too. Smells really strong. Little worried the main cola is too close to the light and is bleaching a little, moved light to 20 inches. 21/08/19, Day 52: watered this evening with 4L, zero runoff, will prob step up to 5L next time. Using week 4 on the biobizz schedule, full strength.

27/08/19, Day 58: Watered this evening with 5L. Week 5 of biobizz schedule, full strength with 1ml calmag, 1ml grow. PH in: 6.5x, PH out: 6.3x. So the biobizz ph down seems to be holding well. Going through some unexpected higher temps the past week or so, so dropped to 18/6 to try and keep things cool. Hitting max 30c in the evening just as the lights come back on before she cools down for the night. Hopefully will get more normal weather in the coming days to finish this out. Nugs look really nice, would like to see them fatten more yet though. Trichs look mostly clear from a quick inspection.

2/9/19, Day 64: On the home stretch. All trichs seem cloudy from what I can see, no sign of amber yet though. Turned out that I had a vent open at the back top of the tent last week which explained the large temp difference. Temps much better now hovering around 21c with 50-55 RH. Unsure right now whether to bother flushing or give one more round of nutes. 3/9/19, Day 65: watered with full strength as I think she’ll go another 1-2 weeks.

09/09/19, Day 71: nice week of flowering, plant is doing well. Bumped light to 135w 2 days ago and plant is liking it, all leaves sticking straight out and up. Still seeing some white pistols popping but the trichomes look close, all cloudy with the very odd amber appearing as of yesterday. Hopefully one more week to go.

15/10/19, Day 77: harvested. Few if any amber trichs but could just be the strain/pheno as she was well overdue. Buds were starting to foxtail the past week and so questionable callaxs makes me wonder was she starting to herm. Then again maybe that’s just how they are meant on really dense plants. Nugs are so big and rock solid, some are like holding a grenade. A little surprised I didn’t hit the 300g wet but not far off.
