Planted 5 of the Mephisto 3 Bears OG x Stilton Special's on Saturday. Just straight into Fox Farms light warrior in solo cups. 3 have started to break thru and the other 2 have both cracked their shells. This will be my very first grow. Hell, they are my very first plants ever. All I did was pre wet the media. Plant the seed and then lightly cover it. Then I left them alone. As soon as they are ready I am going to be transferring them to 3 gallon smart pots with Fox Farms happy frog. Then only water for the first month. Now that all 5 have sprouted and their first set of true leaves are coming in. I turned on the first 4 bulbs of the overhead T5 (200 watts) after a week, I will flip the 2nd set on to bring it up to 400 watts, (while leaving the lights all the way at the top of the tent) The cups are still heavier than the unwatered cup so no water again today. They haven't been watered for 4 days. I will just have to weight them daily, when they finally weight the same as my dry cup i will water them till i get some run off and then leave them alone again.

Anyone have a feeding schedule for Autoflowers in Fox Farm soil? I know im not suppose to feed them for the first dew weeks till they use up the nutrients already in the soil. I have General Hydroponics 3 part. A bottle of Cal-Mag and great white mycorrhizae. Thanks for looking.

Hey man I personally use fox farm ocean forest soil and yes the soil is good for about the first month of growing in it but after I feed 1/2 strength fox farm trio. Either way I would say that feeding schedules are not needed unless you got a big garden. I say learn as many deficiencies and excessive nutrient issues so you can tend to each plant to their needs (more or less nutes). Good luck man they look good.

Hi @Rad406ci! Warning: FoxFarm soil is known to be very hot, I've seen a lot of growers burning their plants with it and I see you're also experimenting a slight Nitrogen toxicity. I won't use any nutrients unless the plants are asking for it, you will easily notice and fix a CalMag deficiency or a Nitrogen deficiency, whereas it can be very difficult to get rid of a toxicity once it has happen. With autoflowers, less is more, simple is better. Hope this will help, let me know in the comments section if you need any further information. Happy growing! 👊

Start off by 1/2 strength of the manufacturer recommendation. And only go up if the plant needs it. And the gh trio will get great results. There is a feed chart at growweedeasy.com for gh trio that will get a great harvest. Good luck

It has been 6 days since I last watered. The solo cups are finally feeling light enough. I'm adding 2ml of cal-mag to my RO water. That will put the PPM's at 130 and the PH is 6.5. At the end of this week they will be getting transferred out of the solo cups and into 3 gallon smart pots with fox farms happy frog soil.

These plants have finally started to show some improvement. I believe I stunted them by starting them in light warrior soil which has zero nutrients in it. I kept them in the cups for 2 weeks with not much growth. Now that they have been transferred into soil they are actually growing alittle.

Thes plants are finally starting to show some movement after i stunted them with to much light and not enough nutrients. (I didnt give them anything) To bad they were autoflowers because it leaves them with no time to recover before they start flowering next week. A couple of them are just starting to show some white pistols. I wont expect much from these plants. I will continue to grow them as a learning experience to help me with my future grows. My plants that are 2 weeks younger than these are quickly catching up and i wouldnt be surprised if they dont pass these up soon. Finally enough undergrowth to justify doing some LST. These guys are starting to bounce back (barely)

I tied down the plants. Really sucks I stunted these guys so bad with to much light and no nutrients. I will let them "finish" just for the learning experience. I seem to be getting stuck around this plant size. They grow normal till around 2-3weeks and then they stop getting bigger. I'm not overwatering. I make sure the media is completely dry and the plant is getting ready to start dropping and only then do I water. I'm not giving to many nutrients. My leaves look great no burning. I have them in happy frog soil so they shouldn't need any nutrients for the first month anyway. I have my lights all the way at the top of the tent. And only have 4 bulbs of the 16 T5 on (200watts with only 4 bulbs). Any tips anyone has would be appreciated

They are still on the road to recovery. Starting to see some more under growth on the stalks. Still pretty sad looking and they were finally starting to get stretchy. So I lowered the T5 from the top of the tent, down to 28" above the canopy and increased the light to 400w.

I took the T5 light out and installed the new 1300w LED all the way at the top of the tent. Its dimmed down to 60% veg and 40% flower. I will be slowly turning it up to see where the plants are happiest at. After 2 days under this light they look better that. They have at any time under the T5. I guess I just had the T5 to far away. The closest i could get them was about 28" away. But from the time they were about 2 weeks old they were under 200w t5 but it was all the way at the top of the tent(about 70" away)

Buds starting to look good. Getting very frosty. Pretty glad I didnt throw these guys out a few weeks back. The smell coming off these guys is insane. I had to set up a second fan and filter outside the tent to capture the smell. It was starting to stink up the entire house.

Just RO water from here on out. No more nutrients. Going to let them use everything up in the soil and leaves. I will run a flush next week to help clean up the residual ppm still in the soil. The plants are crazy strong smelling. Almost done. Then it will be time to cut them down and let them dry for 7-10 days

The smell coming off these plants is INSANE. The second you open the tent it the entire room fills with the scent of watermelon, super skunk and strawberries. If I leave the tent open for to long the entire house reals of it lol. Last 2 weeks for these guys. They have already started their fade by yellowing the leaves.

Just plain RO water at the beginning of this week is all they got while they finish up. Will be cutting them down this weekend. The trichomes are like 80% cloudy, 15% clear and 5% amber. I have the drying racks hung up and ready to go.

This was my first plant ever and I messed up alot but the plant kept coming back stronger than ever. Buds got really really big in the last 2 weeks of flower. It had 4 weeks in veg and 8 weeks in flower. If i would have cut them down earlier in wouldnt have gotten half the weight I did. The smell is pretty crazy, i had to install a second carbon filter outside of the tent. Otherwise every time i opened the tent, all 3 levels of the house would wreak of extremely skunky weed. The smell is very diesel with hints of watermelon. It responded very well to low stress training. I didnt top these plants at all. Just LST, that's it. They did require quite a bit of attention thou so I probably would not recommend for a first time grower. But it is manageable for them also. The plants got really pretty good size in the end so make sure you have the room.

Learned a ton with my first grow and would always recommend mephisto seeds to anyone that asked. They have a great product. These still have a few weeks of curing left but I did try some. It's pretty great. Cant wait to start my next grow.

Hey everyone, another quick question. I am watering with RO water. I feed every 3rd or 4th watering. In between feedings I will be only adding cal-mag with my RO water. Is there a progressive PPM scale i should follow or not exceed for plant age/size

@yoooooo, I add cal mag first and I only add 50 -150 ppm to my RO water

She's not ready you can still feed her some more. I would feed her another week then see where she stands. Feed her every other watering. When about 50% of the white pistils are drying and have turned orange is when you should start checking the trichome color. It will change from clear to cloudy/milky then to amber. Most growers are harvesting when they have about 5% to 30% amber trichomes. If you check your trichomes now with a 40x led lighted jewelers loupe(Amazon .com) you will see mostly clear with some half cloudy trichomes. I'm guessing but you may have at least 2+ weeks left before harvest going by your current photos. The buds usually put on the most weight during this time.

@yoooooo, What's the worse thing that could happen they get fatter? I my first Afghani grow I flushed a bit soon it actually took another three weeks before I harvested her so I could have gotten another week of feeding in on her. It's really tough to guestimate when you really need to flush. Right now I typically shoot for at least 10 days to flush them. Not all strains are the same.

yoooooocommented6 years ago
@Philindicus, took your advice. Fed her 3.75ml of micro, 7.5ml of bloom and 4ml of sweet. For about 500ppm. I will look at it again next week and reassess. Thanks for the help

@yoooooo, It's your grow so it's your call she'll probably fatten up anyways during your flush

Is there more than one plant? I would treat them all differently they may not all be ready at the same time. One looks further along than the rest by your photos. If any still have all white pistils keep feeding them nutes. The one with the dried pistils looks like its getting closer. Hard for me to tell whats up but it's your call.
Philindicus
Philindicuscommented6 years ago
@yoooooo, It's better to wait until you see mostly cloudy/milky with some amber trichomes showing up. My last grow I had 1 ripen early and a couple that took longer than the rest. It's just a matter of waiting. You have five plants to play with you can harvest them at differnt stages see which you like better. The one with the dried pistils looks nice you can see the calyx are starting to plump up like little grapes which is good this means shes gaining more weight so your closer to harvest

@Philindicus, there is 5 plants. The one with all orange hairs has no amber tricomes(sp) still ok to chop? Or wait till I see some amber.

Looks great she's starting to get frosty! I would give her some GH Liquid Kool Bloom 0-10-10 the extra phosphorus and potassium will help build and bulk up those buds. Use half strength nutes. Are you using GH flora bloom? You should be dropping floragrow this week you don't need the extra nitrogen at this point of bloom. https://gh.growgh.com/docs/Feedcharts/GH_FloraSeries-DTW_03216am.pdf

But maybe feed once a week for sure like every Monday or something as most nutrients have a routine on the box but I usually cut everything they say in half so if it says use 5ml I use 2 if it says feed this amount week 2-5veg I cut it in half
