The Stretch & Overall Grow: She grew from 14 inches to 48 inches in 2 weeks from flip day. So yeah, quite a stretch. One thing to note is, during flower, I didn't have a very good dehumidifier, for 3 weeks I was consistently running 70-100% RH in the tent (I had no choice at the time) and I didn't get a single mould or PM issue. Maybe I was lucky, but thought it was worth mentioning for sure! When she was chopped: I chopped her when the tops were slightly dark amber, cloudy and opaque. Due to the nature of my set up at the time, some colas matured much quicker than others, so by design, I assume I will get different kinds of highs as I get through the jars over the next couple months. Net grow will be in ideal conditions with 250cm headspace. Most importantly, THE HIGH: She is an energetic high, me and some friends started smoking at 8pm and managed to stay up until 3/4am. She keeps you up without being to overbearing. Was great for jokes and giggles. Smoked approx 1.5g between 3 of us, was more than enough. No headaches to report the morning after. Not one to smoke if you want to go to sleep anytime soon, although tbh, we never tried! Conclusion: As I have only grown once, I can only compare against street weed where your chances of buying a particular strain is never guaranteed. All I can say is, she tasted better than anything we have bought domestically, her smell and aroma reminds me of nice walks around Amsterdam. With subtle pine and lemon tones along with that skunky smell I love! I guess its quality is indicative of the fact I have chosen to grow it again for the second time. 🙂

Without a benchmark it is really hard to say, reasonably priced, seemed to work well and once I had my nutrients dialled in had no obvious deficiencies for the last 8 weeks of the grow.

Well its that time... She's done, weighed up and dried in jars with hygrometers. RH is around 60 - 69% in all of the jars so now they will be burped daily for the next 3 weeks. She grew very well, technically I grew 2 plants, but to be honest the main one was so established by the time I added the second one to the tent, she had no chance - reckon I pulled 3g off of the whole plant lol If I had a taller space, I think my yield would be quite a bit better, but I am happy overall! Some of the taller colas were very leafy at the tops, due to light stress I think so I chucked out about an ounce and a half of shit weed. One thing I have learnt more than anything on this first grow is that you should not treat what you read on the internet as gospel when it comes to growing weed. I think there is a lot of anicdotal evidence behind what a lot of people claim to be right/true. Try to verify a tutorial by seeing what other tutorials tell you to do. Don't just go a long with the first one you have found. Another tip, listen to GrowCast podcast and try to find the episodes with Dr MJ Coco, he dropped the first bit of science based knowledge that didn't seem like BS or black magic. Also he has a website called Coco for cannabis, even though I am DWC, I found the live chat helpful as someone is usually on there who can help you. Another website I found most helpful was CannaStats.com - you can enter your bottles ingredients to a calculator and it breaks down your nutes into PPM for each molecule/element. Which I think makes it much easier to interchange between nutrient brands. Plus you know exactly what you are putting into your res water. Now I have a benchmark, I am growing Strawberry Lemonade again to see if I can beat my 'score'. 2 seeds have popped already and I'll be making a new diary soon with an upgraded space, higher ceilings and larger floor space :) PS, I will update final weight once burping is finished 😊

On the last photo, has anyone got any idea what these white looking balls are? Almost look like eggs!

@Nugget1234 Nice hydro setup mate Those little balls are the developing egg sacks of an unwanted visitor to your grow You will need to remove that leaf and any other effected leaves and treat your plant with some neem oil or other eco type insecticide Also wipe down all of the surfaces Hope this helps mate

Gents/Ladies, Anyone got any ideas with what I should do with the cola that has stunted growth due to the stem being half broken? I managed to top it, just about... Was thinking if it doesn't decide to grow anymore in a weeks time, I could top the one next to it again?

It's looking like its in good shape , I would just consider this an accidental stem split . Not really a big deal because the branch isnt really broken all the way through so it can still get some nutrients and water to the leaves in the mean time while it heals . If you wanna speed up the mending process you can get green plant tape and use of that to hold it back together again and it will be strong then it was before . If how ever you dont chose to aid it in the mend then it will just take a bit more time and then bam ! Back to full strength and then some she will be . Over all your plants looking happy and healthy so there isn't to much to worry about here your plant will recover with or without your help just fine . I hope this helps you on your journey ! Happy Growing !

Is it normal for a mainlined plant to have a few colas stretch so hard? I reckon I only have another 5/6 inches of growth space above the highest cola and am starting to worry. I have swapped out the lights for veg lights today to try and slow it down...

With the good environment + nutrients combo it is not really unusual to see that kind of stretch and if I'm not mistaking your plant looks like a sativa dominant so they are stretching tall. The veg lights contains more blue so it will maybe limit the few inches/ centimeters she have to gain before she fully flip. You can still pinch the higher nodes and bend them a bit to manage the distance.

That's a big yield from one plant! I do think you could have let her mature another week or two still....
NuggetPawn
NuggetPawncommented5 years ago
@Fruitgrower, definitely chopped way too early, was my first grow at the time, pushed her properly on the second grow 😊

Congrads, looks good! And just a tip, you harvested fairly early. That may what contributed to the "energy" leaning side of the high too. But that week 14 had a TON of thick up right white hairs, and 15, harvest, you can see them in the bud...which is fine, looks like good stuff! but it is also a sign you could have let her mature at least 2 more weeks for a more rafined bud and effects. But pffttt. It is always a prefernce in the end. Looks good! Can't wait! I am suffering a bug attack, hope she pulls through.

@CRiSPrGrow, hey, thanks very much for your message, I have googled a lot and found multiple theories, some say it’s early trichromes, others say the beginning of powdery mildew, others say eggs although eggs should be on the underside of the leaf right? This pic is the top of the leaf 🍃 I have just added a video, my scope goes up to 1000 x zoom, these things are like reaaaaaalllly tiny

@DILLIGAF, Thanks man, I will pick some up from my local store tomorrow, I do have this stuff though... Plant Magic - Bugicide Pesticide and Mildew Treatment - think this will be enough? Removing leaves isn't really an option when the plant is still a baby lol This link reckons they're trichrome's: https://www.thetruthaboutforensicscience.com/the-myth-of-specific-identification-of-marijuana-in-criminal-court-part-3-what-is-microscopic-morphological-examination-is-it-a-good-test/
