Mephisto Genetics - Deez Nuggs
Illuminauto #37
(Strawberry Nuggets X Orange Diesel)
F1 feminised Autoflower
Indica/ Sativa: 70/30
Expected cycle: 70-80 days
---------------------------
Seedlings sprouted in Root Riot plugs on July 26th.
Starting Day 1 count on this day.
4 of the 5 seeds in the pack germinated successfully.
the 5th had trouble sprouting out of it's shell and died off.
This diary will be a 4 plant closet grow in a 3'x3' space . No tent this round.
Tap roots shot down and started shooting off roots quickly.
transferring them into the 5 Gal. fabric pots and kicking off the journal here.
Nutrients:
Canna Coco for base nutrients
A few additives along the way
Will also use some Recharge and Mammoth P throughout the grow.
5 Gal. fabric pots.
Canna loose bag Coco with some perlite mixed in.
Veg Lighting:
T5 fixture - 8bulb (200W)
Flower Lighting:
Chilled Logic pucks V3. (300W)
So far things are looking good.
With the heat outside here lately, have had to blast the A/C making it a bit drier in the room,
So keeping this humidifier on to try to keep humidity around 58% - 64%
Temps inside have been pretty stable between 70-75 during the day
and 67-70 during lights off.
Trying out the Kokonaut sensor for temp. and Humidity monitoring.
Plants were getting bushy.
Started doing some LST training on the plants late last week to spread the canopy out.
Plants are still pretty squat, keeping the light pretty close to canopy,
but they are soaking it all up and want more.
Finishing up the DIY rapid LED build this week to get that hung over the canopy.
look out for that update in next week's post.
Gonna ease them into the LED light at 24" off of canopy to start
and then slowly bring it down to 18"-20"
will have the new LED pucks running at about 75% intensity (about 250 Watts.)
introduced Silica, Mammoth P, and Cannazyme into the feeding schedule
I caught a herm in the seed pack, so I pulled the plant out before any more pollen sacks matured.
We are down to 3 from the 5 pack of seeds. (1 was stubborn and never germinated, and 1 was a herm.)
This week I see the bud sites forming. It's always exciting to see those pistils and bud sited shooting out under the light.
They are def. stretching, so pulled the light up a bit.
Plants are kicking off the flowering process.
Always my favorite part of the grow, besides harvest.
I can see some frost developing on new sugar leaves and the first buds beginning to form.
Bumped light intensity up a touch from 235w output to 250w and bumped feeding up to 1.3.
Healthy bright white pistils. so far feeding and light intensity seems to be keeping these girls happy.
I'm excited to finally see the buds and frost starting to pack on this week.
Ran into some heat issues this week. My A/C went out so humidity and temps were higher than normal.
Repair guy finally came by to fix it today. Hope they didn't stress too bad this week. (A/C Was out for 4 days)
I did keep good airflow throughout the canopy and overall it looks like they got through it fine.
No wilting or major signs of heat stress on leaves.
Really loving the pulse monitor in the garden.
it really is a huge help with monitoring the environment.
Am seeing mostly cloudy trichomes now with the first couple of amber ones starting to come in.
Starting these girls on a final flush this week. And should be ready for harvest in the next 7-14 days.
On the final few days of a 10 day flush.
Will be chopping down this week to harvest and hang dry.
Really excited to try this one. The smells in the room are unreal.
Flush is finally complete and the girls are hanging up to dry.
Some nice fade with yellow and magenta colors on 2 of the 3 phenos.
Incredibly frosty and perfectly dense. Odor control was definitely a challenge with this one.
Will check back in for one last harvest update once dried and trimmed up.
Thanks for checking this one out and following along!
DEEZ NUGGS :
(Strawberry nuggets x Orange Diesel)
Mephisto outdid themselves on this cross.
Gassy, fruity, citrus. My 3 fav. flavor profiles all in one.
Absolutely love the nose on these genetics.
A sweet hint of strawberry with a thick gassy citrus rich funk on the palette.
Would def. grow again if available. Fat frost covered nuggets.
Would def. recommend a bit more defoliation and training then I did this run.
Ran into a lot of bottom fluffy bud on this run because of so much foliage and not training them further during veg.
But the top buds that got optimum light are amazing. Dense, frosty, premium smoke.
nice hint of pinkish purplish hues during flush on some phenos.
It's been curing for about 10 days now and I have really been enjoying this one.
Smooth smoke, great flavor. Very happy with the result.
Hi friend. Good growth no doubt about it !!! you did a great job with this strain.💪
I also want to try it since it was the prize of the contest that I won👍 but I wanted to know what are the secrets to keep the dense buds after they are dried up?
Thanks a lot in advance man😉
@Rwein93,
Thanks for checking this grow out.
Nothing special. I just do a whole plant hang dry.
Dried low and slow, about 10 days. 60 degrees Farenheit at around 60% humidity then dropped down to 55% about halfway through drying.
For the cure just tossed them, in mason jars with an air gap up top and burped daily.
