Day 7- I have been misting soil everyday. Also picked up a digital humidifier to raise the humidity to 61%. Also watered plants for the first time since they've been in medium. Just made a ring around the seedlings. Day 10- Still moistening soil everyday. Bought bloom nutes that I will introduce around week 5 and got a sample of foliar spray. Applied foliar spray after lights were off. Day 11- Plants looked leggy so I added more Fox Farm Ocean Forest to sturdy up the plants. After adding new soil each plant was dry so I added roughly a 1/3 gallon of tap water(set out for 48hrs) to each pot. Day 13- Applied foliar spray on all plants after lights out. Day 14- Lightly misted soil. Leaves are starting to kinda stink. May try to do LST on the ladies in the next few days. *The Foliar Spray I'm applying is already PH adjusted.*

I found out my tap water was 9.8. I'm about to water tomorrow with PH adjusted water, I just didn't know whether or not that could be the issue with the tips turning yellow? Bigger plant now too, just not as bad Basically will the soil adjust since it's a premix in between 6.3-6.8

When growing with Auto's it's hard to say how they will respond to different stresses. Getting the PH fixed could allow them to bounce back. The only way to know for sure is invest the time. You may have lower yields though do to the shock. Besides knowing the PH of the water going in, have you checked the PH on the water coming out also? This will help you know if the soil is adjusting or still running hot.

Just wondering what should I be doing next? Blue is getting too stiff to tie her down so I've been spreading her out more. Besides bloom nutrients next watering...do I just sit back and wait for harvest day to come rolling around?

If you are talking about LST then you can adjust it until the 2nd week of flowering and then let it go. About your feeding you are about to introduce the bloom nutrient which is the good thing to do as the 2 1st week of flowering are generally the weeks when you makes the balance from the full vegetative nutrition to the early flowering schedule. Be easy on the nits to not burn your ladies

What do you guys look for when it comes to harvesting? I have a jeweler's loupe but my hands are too shaky to use. Was thinking Yellow Marker was getting close since her pistils are receding into her buds and she is nice and fat. But I definitely don't want to cut her down early.

To make it easy on you all you have to do is cut a small piece off bud like size of your thumbnail and set the piece on a table no fans plz. Maybe even use a white or black piece of paper for back ground set piece on top and observe trichomes. You won't hurt the plant one bit. You also can view and better white light then grow light.

@KCChiefers, That photo is rough man, lol. It's cool to wait and post when you have time for better photos. We aren't rushing you, go at your pace. I'm glad to see you are pushing to finish despite the hiccups along the way. Some people would be really discouraged and stop. So good for you man, I hope it turns out nicely and you get the medicine you are looking for off all three.

@KCChiefers, did I ever suggest visiting https://www.growweedeasy.com/ as a tool to help you when you feel like something might be off with the plant? It's a good site that can answer questions related to autos, photos, and other things. With that 4oz a month limit, you will be able to maintain that easy once you get your set up figured out and dialed in.
KCChiefers
KCChiefers
@NeedsMoreFans, yeah that's what I was kinda deciding on next round or not wether or not I was going to do less plants at a time. I'd like to, but I go through about 2oz a month. My state allows up to 4oz a month. I'd like to be able to harvest once a month or similar to that if I can get myself familiarized with my setup. No dispensaries will be open here until middle of next year

@KCChiefers, sorry I haven't been around man, life. I don't want to discourage you but I would consider sacking the runt. I know you have put a lot of work in to trying to get it this far, but I don't think you will enjoy the smoke you get off of her based on how she grew. The best thing to take away from her journey was what you learned. Your yellow marker is coming along, I like the comparison photo you made.

@KCChiefers, lol to the jewelers loupe. I think people suggest it because it's the "standard" even though I haven't found a lot of people who actually enjoy them. Don't worry about using the pisitls as a gauge, it's a good default if you don't have the ability to see the trichomes. I hope you are able to get the 2 ounces of all three. I also hear what you are saying about it not being perfect. I would just hate for you have a really harsh smoke for the relief off the runt. I could be way off though and it could still be fine for you. I'm also glad to hear that you are happy with what you have achieved so far. You have learned a lot over these past two months which is always valuable. Learning the set up is definitely key. You may find that you have to treat the plants differently based on how many you have even going from two to three, to one, to four. Keep the positivity and enjoy the journey. 😃
KCChiefers
KCChiefers
@NeedsMoreFans, well I got pretty shaky hands too, so the Jewelers Loupe didn't work out too well for me lol. My girl said I should have just spent the extra on a USB scope but sometimes me being cheap...ya know haha. Probably going to order one of those here in the next week. Based off other journals I still have 20-25 days left. If I don't get a scope by chop day I'll probably just go by hairs even though that's not the best way. Probably 1 more feeding then just going to give PH water to them. Like I said my final goal is 2oz off three plants. It's my medicine stash so it doesn't have to be perfect. Just as long as I get relief. Even with mistakes I'm happy with this grow and excited to see once I learn my setup more, what I can achieve with it.
KCChiefers
KCChiefers
@NeedsMoreFans, yeah I figured I go the cheaper route for the time being. Hoping harvest is decent. That way I can save much needed $

@KCChiefers, at this point in the process I would stop any and all foliar sprays. You are entering flowering now so back off on topical applications unless necessary. Her color appears to be getting better now that you are introducing Cal-Mag which is good. Be careful to not over water them and you can still do a little bit of training, just not much. If you can't move the branches at all because they are stiff, consider if you can tuck any fan leaves that are blocking a flower site. You could also consider doing one round of defoliation on all the leaves blocking the inside of the plant. Do some research on this from other growers before you start removing leaves to see what they are doing/looking for, then study your plant and decide if you can or should do that also. Training isn't over, just modified now.

@KCChiefers, 3-4 day watering is normal depending on where you are at in the process and the overall root/plant development. You want the time between watering to decrease as the plant becomes larger.
KCChiefers
KCChiefers
@NeedsMoreFans, it's another strain from MSNL actually. But okay and another question for you? Blue Marker is pretty light already so it seems like I may need to water her tomorrow. Is that normal to water again after 3-4 days? She took damn near the whole gallon! I just don't want to overwater her. The other 2 ladies pots are still pretty heavy.
NeedsMoreFans
NeedsMoreFans
@KCChiefers, Niravana Bubblicious? Good strain if so, if not I'm not familiar with the genetics. Wait about a 7 days from sprout to give your first dose of Cal-Mag and don't exceed 3ml to start. As far as the light goes, what does the manufacturer recommend for flower distance? You have to make sure to also account for vertical growth that is still happening. If 18" is the lowest recommendation, try 19"-20" to allow for some growth and not cross the barrier. Or, just lower by about an inch each day until you are 19"/20" away.

I like the spread I'm seeing on the Yellow Marker. Blue looks like it is stacking high on the one side. Look at the runt, it's trying so hard. What if it ends up looking like weed genitals? One long main cola with two golf balls on the bottom? That would be insane.

@KCChiefers, I don't measure the ppms currently. I've been doing it all just off PH levels after mixing nutrients measured by the ml/tsp per gallon, and checking the run off every so often to make sure the soil isn't heating up. If your plants aren't showing any cal-mag deficiencies, you can wait, but if you want to avoid any potential deficiencies, giving it a shot of cal-mag in the water won't hurt. This far along, you could give it 5ml per gallon and it would be okay. I use tap water that has been filtered and vented to remove the chlorine. I'm fortunate my tap water has a natural 6.5PH rating. I'll remove an equal amount of water to the amount of nutrients I'll be adding, plus a little more to account for PH levelers. The reason I remove an equal amount of water is because the nutrients are all liquid based. The simplest way to start with nutrients is the use the minimum, so if it were FF for example, it would be some cal-mag with the FF Trio of Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger Bloom used at their respective times, and nothing else. Then as you feel comfortable, you could start adding other things, to use FF again, Kelp Me Kelp You, Kangaroots, Cha Ching, etc. You could do then one at a time to measure the difference, or mix and match to your heart is content, but know that your results were vary as you learn how it strain reacts to each addition.

@NeedsMoreFans, I was able to get more info on my tap water source. Do you know if 15 ppm for magnesium and calcium is enough? I'm thinking probably not. Deciding whether I want to go the cal mag route. Curious to know what you water with. I'm just trying to simplify it down till I have a better understanding of what certain plants needs are etc. Yes, I've already learned so much that I'm excited to do these next two seeds here in a few days! I will be starting a bloom booster here in week 5 by Old Age Nutrients so I'm curious to see what it'll do.

@KCChiefers, unless you do something to botch the whole thing, I think you will be happy. Look at what you have learned already, which is important, and helping you improve this grow, in the middle of the process. You will be in a better position for your next run. You know you'll need to check your PH out the gate and make sure that is on point, which has a huge impact on the whole process. Plus you will be able to start figuring out how to dial in your nutrients.

@NeedsMoreFans, I'll be watering tomorrow I think I'm going to give 3ml to a gallon so half the dosage. And see if stuff improves. When I was reading up on Fox farm soil. I read that ocean Forest had enough nutrients to last me till flower. So I have not given any nutes whatsoever so far besides what was in the soil. What would you recommend for a simple veg nute for next go around?

@KCChiefers, what has been your largest N-P-K rating so far? Not just one item, but with all the N-P-K numbers added up? Not percentages either. It depends on where you have been feeding. It also depends on how much P-K and you will have to offset the N. It's not something I could give you an honest answer on based on just 1 product. It kind of looks like a magnesium deficiency, https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-plant-problems/magnesium-deficiency . I would give it some Cal-Mag and see what happens. I could be wrong, but it looks like a Mag issue.

@KCChiefers, lol, thank you. I do like the shape I have been able to get. I think next time I'll star the LST even sooner, possibly node 3/4 instead of 5/6. I think if I bend her sooner I can get enough of the branches to stretch sooner and get a nice "round forrest" by LST training in a slow circle pattern. To do that though I need the lower branches to stretch out sooner to allow for enough manipulation time. This is also what I'm thinking for my next Black Jack grow. After this is an indica in which I will probably use a combination of LST and Ponytail to see what I get there.

For your runt, it's hard to say, it could be a magnesium issue. Did anymore of the new growth display these traits or only those leaves? The plants being so small by week three could related to genetics of the plant and not necessarily your light, both the genetics for this round of seeds and/or the strain in general. Have you looked up journals of other growers of White LSD Auto from MSNL genetics?

@NeedsMoreFans, thanks! I'm about to give them water here shortly and do some minor LST adjustments. On another forum they suggested that some of the recent fox farm soil has been off pH wise. So I'm top dressing 1tbs to each gallon of soil with that. Starting to think my pH will be off. Will let you know! Also...can you update day by day or do you have to wait for the week to finish to update your diary?

What do you mean by the leaves kind of stink? Stink in what way? And what is in the foliar spray? Also, with this being an auto, could you post real color photos every now and again so we can see what the leaves and branches look like? Purple light will make it hard for other to try and evaluate what is going on or spot possible warning signs you may have missed.

@NeedsMoreFans, oh, no issue with the smell! I just didn't the leaves would smell like the finished product this soon lol. I only notice it when smelling finger tips after training plants and tucking fans leaves. Trust me not a bad smell 😁
NeedsMoreFans

@KCChiefers, I don't see how that could cause such a smell issue. Foliar sprays are really debatable depending on who you talk to. I've done some with and some without, I can't say I know for a fact I saw gains or losses either way. I was using a mix of silica and PH balanced water. To deal with pests I would put neem oil in the water I was giving the soil. I haven't had any mold issues on leaves so I have never needed a foliar spray for that.

@KCChiefers, I've been meaning to ask you. When you were using your nutrients, are you following what the bottle says, or what a feed guide says? I haven't investigated your nutrients and compared them to what you are posting. I only ask because for FF products, they suggest a super low dosage across the board for their feeding schedule compared what they place on their own bottles. This is where you would have to consider measuring the PPM, if using the suggestions on all the bottles compared to the schedule if they vary. I use the bottle recommendations and scale accordingly as the plants develop and found that works well for me. I still don't measure my PPM by the way...yet. I'm not at that level of dialing in and don't know when or if I will be. Learning to understand what your plant is telling you can do a lot on it's own.
KCChiefers
KCChiefers
@NeedsMoreFans, on the CalMag Plus I've been using less than recommended. And the Old Age says for established plants 2-3tbs. I wanted to go on the easy side and go 2 tsp that way since I water them about twice a week I could give them an extra tsp to make a tbs if I felt necessary. I'm thinking about picking up veg nutes from ff to start introducing them to my plants about 3-3.5 weeks in. I watered with CalMag at 2ml/gal and burned both of my Bubblegums. So I'll probably just start pH water for first 3-3.5 weeks. I'm learning though! Plus this new round was with HF

Holy balls your plants take a gallon of water each?! Mine are taking a quarter gallon each, every 2-3 days and immediately drain a quarter to half of what i water them out the bottom and into the drip trays. If i tried to do a gallon to any of mine they would overflow the trays below easily. Wonder why that is??
KCChiefers
KCChiefers
@KCMOR8RH8R, first two weeks I only gave about a quarter of a gallon. Then after that about a half a gallon and now they take about a full gallon with only a few drops out the bottom! It also depends on your medium you're using. I also water them over the course of an hour slowly
