Day 7- I have been misting soil everyday. Also picked up a digital humidifier to raise the humidity to 61%. Also watered plants for the first time since they've been in medium. Just made a ring around the seedlings. Day 10- Still moistening soil everyday. Bought bloom nutes that I will introduce around week 5 and got a sample of foliar spray. Applied foliar spray after lights were off. Day 11- Plants looked leggy so I added more Fox Farm Ocean Forest to sturdy up the plants. After adding new soil each plant was dry so I added roughly a 1/3 gallon of tap water(set out for 48hrs) to each pot. Day 13- Applied foliar spray on all plants after lights out. Day 14- Lightly misted soil. Leaves are starting to kinda stink. May try to do LST on the ladies in the next few days. *The Foliar Spray I'm applying is already PH adjusted.*

Day 15- One plant the runt starting to show some kind of problem. Wind burn or mag cal deficiency? Day 16- Added cookie sheets under each pot as "pot elevators". Ladies getting their second watering today. Each plant received about 3/4 gallon with 10% runoff. Plants look droopy after watering will check in a few hours to see if they're no longer droopy. After waiting a few hours leaves aren't dropping. Still don't know about the runts issues. Leaves pointing towards light. Will keep an eye on it over the next few days to see if it improves or gets worse. Giving Foliar Spray to each plant after lights out. Day 17- Raised lights to 26" above canopy was at 24". Received PH pen and kit today. After testing water with PH test drops, my water was showing a PH of over 8!!! Will be configuring pen tomorrow to get a more accurate reading. Day 18- Tap water PH was found at 9.8...... and after adding 10 drops of PH Down to a gallon made the PH 6.5. Started LST training on all three plants. Day 19- Giving Foliar Spray to each plant after lights out. Day 20- Minor LST adjustments to all plants. Day 21- Turning both bloom and veg switch on since eventually my tent will be a perpetual setup. ( Could this be why my plants are tiny, because I didn't have the full spectrum and only the blue of veg on and not both? Besides the runt, I think she's stunted.) Minor LST adjustments.

I found out my tap water was 9.8. I'm about to water tomorrow with PH adjusted water, I just didn't know whether or not that could be the issue with the tips turning yellow? Bigger plant now too, just not as bad Basically will the soil adjust since it's a premix in between 6.3-6.8

When growing with Auto's it's hard to say how they will respond to different stresses. Getting the PH fixed could allow them to bounce back. The only way to know for sure is invest the time. You may have lower yields though do to the shock. Besides knowing the PH of the water going in, have you checked the PH on the water coming out also? This will help you know if the soil is adjusting or still running hot.

Day 23- Watering with PH adjusted water and top dressing each plant with dolomite lime at 1tbs per gal. So 5 tbs in each pot. After this I watered each plant over a period of half an hour and each plant took roughly a gallon of water with about 10% runoff. The runoff tested in between 6-6.5 (using test drops), this was INCLUDING the runt. Minor LST adjustments. Both stronger phenos are already bushing out thanks to LST. Will be applying Foliar Spray after lights out. Day 24- Minor LST adjustments. Yellow tips showing more predominant in the bigger plants. Hoping me adding the dolomite lime will fix that in the next week or so. Day 25- Minor LST adjustments. Day 26- Minor LST adjustments plants are starting to reveal sex and preflowering (I believe). Hoping to see these ladies stretch over the next few weeks. Applying Foliar Spray after lights out. Day 27- Minor LST adjustments to yellow marker. She gettin' bushy! Day 28- Whew! What a way to end week 4...runt is coming along nicely. Maybe get a decent yield out of er' yet. Yellow marker bushing out more and blue marker stretched overnight! Minor LST adjustments.

Day 29- Watered plants with a gallon each of PH adjusted water. Plants look somewhat happy. A little tip curling on blue marker. Leaves are pale in the middle going outwards on yellow marker. Day 30- LST adjustments. Day 31- LST adjustments. Day 32- LST adjustments. Will be incorporating two bubblicious autos from MSNL in the tent later on tomorrow since the tails are showing. Day 33- LST adjustments. Looks like iron deficiency so I'm applying Cal Mag Plus as a Foliar Spray. The Foliar Spray is PH'd and 1TSP per gallon. Applying Foliar Spray after lights out. Day 34- It may just be my eyes (probably) but it looks like the MagCal Plus foliar application last night worked wonders. Night and difference, once again in my eyes. Will keep checking on it. Did more LST adjustments to all plants. Still haven't decided about using calmag on next watering. Day 35- Whew! It's been a long week. About halfway there! I've managed to keep them alive this long haha. Anyways, end of week 5 finished with some LST adjustments and another round of Cal Mag Plus foliar spray on the ladies. Will be watering tomorrow and adding 3ml/gal for dosage.

Day 36- LST adjustments. Each lady received almost a full gallon of water each. I also dosed each gallon with 4ml cal mag plus. I guess I would consider this week 1 of flowering. Next watering I'll introduce bloom nutrients. They getting hairy! I feel like I'm also seeing some improvement in each plant after Foliar Spray, so I'm hoping after this watering they'll perk up and not have more sick leaves to look at. Day 37- I did a few LST adjustments on the smaller plants. "Blue Marker" is getting pretty stiff so I'm afraid to tie her down and have only been tucking leaves. Probably just going to try to keep her spread out as much as I can do. No more LST for her. Day 38- They've been drinking alot of water and are thirsty! Now normally I water once a week, but they may need it before their next water time. Lowered the lights to 18" above canopy. Will see if I get any canoes or not when I get back home tomorrow evening. It smells good when I open the tent as well 👌. Only uphill from here on! Day 39- Ladies didn't show any light stress to me lowering them down to 18". Blue Marker looks like she needs to be watered. The other two are still heavy. Probably be watering blue marker tomorrow evening and starting bloom nutrients. Day 40- Watered Blue Marker today with 4ml/gal CalMag+ and 2tsp/gallon of Old Age Bloom. Will be watering Yellow Marker tomorrow with the same ratio. The runt still probably has a few more days until she's ready for a drink. Day 41- Watered Yellow Marker with 4ml/gal CalMag+ and 2tsp/gal of Old Age Bloom. Will be watering the runt tomorrow. Went ahead and snapped a lower bud site on the runt. Didn't look promising enough to warrant keeping it. As you can see in the picture, most of the leaves were shriveled up on it anyways. I also tucked fan leaves on all plants and measured Blue Marker (17.5in) tall and Yellow Marker is about 1ft tall. Day 42- Watered "Runt" with 4ml/gal CalMag+ and 2 tsp/gal of Old Age Bloom. All plants new growth looks better and doesn't look like it's traveling up plant. More and more bud sites are popping up. Yellow Marker looks farther along than Blue Marker. End of week 6!

If you are talking about LST then you can adjust it until the 2nd week of flowering and then let it go. About your feeding you are about to introduce the bloom nutrient which is the good thing to do as the 2 1st week of flowering are generally the weeks when you makes the balance from the full vegetative nutrition to the early flowering schedule. Be easy on the nits to not burn your ladies

Day 43- No real big adjustments kind of just letting the plants do their thing. Adjusted light to 20" above tallest plant. Not sure if I have some light stress or heat stress. Got super hot this weekend and up to 88° in the tent. Day 44- Raised light to 20" above the tallest plant. Day 45- Gave Blue Marker a watering with PH balanced water no nutes. (probably should have gave her another dose of calmag) Day 46- Adjusted lights to 20" above tallest plant. Gave Yellow Marker a watering with 1tsp/gal Old Age Bloom. Day 47- Flushed Blue Marker till water came out clear. Flushed Runt till water came out clear and the last water I used had 2.5ml/gal of CalMag+. Yellow Marker is now the doing the best out of the three ladies. Day 48- Raised light up to 20" above tallest plant. Ladies starting to fill out. I feel like the Runt and Blue Marker are reacting well to the flush. I guess I will see how they react over the next few days. Day 49- Raised light again to 20" above tallest plant. Tent is starting to stink, and it's the end of week 7. *last night I freaked out on my ladies and thought they all went Hermie somehow...multiple Google searches later and many forums later...they're just swollen calyxyes 😂*

Day 50- No adjustments. Yellow Marker has got a nice set of buds forming she'll get a watering tomorrow night. A few hairs on her are starting to turn orange. Day 51- Yellow Marker was watered with 1 gallon and 10% runoff with 2tsp/gal of Old Age Bloom. Blue Marker may need watering tomorrow but the Runt, which was flushed the same day as Blue Marker, her pot is still pretty heavy as she's a smaller plant taking that extra time to dry out. Day 52- The runt is trying it's heart out lol. Yellow Marker has a fat ass chicken strip bud forming and Blue Marker is slowly but surely starting to stack more. I watered Blue Marker with a gallon with 10% runoff with Old Age Bloom at 2tsp/gal. It may be a few more days till the runt gets watered. Day 53- Humidity was 53%; added humidifier to get down below 50%. Day 54- No adjustments and no pictures. Day 55- Tried using a jeweler's Loupe to find trichomes, but with my eyesight and shaky hands, I had no luck. Going to most likely pick up a USB microscope. If I don't get one, I'll just harvest when pisitls are around 70-80% and receded into buds (I know it's not as accurate). Yellow Marker is getting pretty frosty. Since we're about 20-25 days away from harvest. Going to give each plant one final dose of nutes and then pH water from rest onward. The Runt that was flushed on day 47, didn't react well to it obviously...I'll water her tomorrow night. She took almost took 9 days to dry out for another watering. Not too upset because she was in bad shape already. Like I said, I may not be impressed with the smoke. If not, to the green dragon tincture the runt goes ! Day 56- Alternating with PH water on Yellow Marker before getting her last nutes later this week. Watering Runt with Old Age Bloom 2tsp/gal until runoff. Since the runt is doing so poorly I decided to defoliate the worse of the leaves off as a trial and error thing. Like I said, most likely it will end up going to edibles/tincture unless it surprised me somehow. End of week 8!

Day 57- Is it harvest day yet? 😂 Watered with PH water on Blue Marker before she receives her last nute watering. I'm really loving the stacking finally going on, on Blue Marker. Poor picture quality because running low on time today. Yelow Marker just keeps getting denser and denser. Day 58- Decided since Yellow Marker looks like it will be done before Blue Marker, I'm going to just give her PH water the rest of the way. Blue Marker will still receive one more dose of nutes. I also decided as much as I'd like to let her go...if the Runt is not done by the time Blue Marker is done, she will be tore out and replaced. The only reason she's staying right now is because she has two other sisters. Once they're both done new seeds will be in there spots. Anyways...no major adjustments, just rotated the plants in their spots. Day 59- No major adjustments. Just rotated plants in their spots. Day 60- No major adjustments. Just rotated plants in their spots. Day 61- Rotated plants around in tent. Watered Yellow Marker with PH adjusted water until runoff. Watered Runt with Old Age Bloom 1tsp/gal until runoff. Blue Marker will receive it's last nutes tomorrow night. So...breeder states 75 days to harvest. Yellow Marker looks so good but I don't know how much I should let her go before harvesting. Her pistils are starting to recede in and she doesn't seem to be swelling much more. I may wait until atleast day 70 to chop her down. Blue Marker will for sure go at least 75 days maybe longer. Like I said, when Blue Marker gets done, the Runt will be going along with her no matter the situation with her. Oddly enough the Runt is the stinkier out of all 3 lol. Guess she'll make for some tasty hash 😅 Day 62- No adjustments was super busy. That's why I haven't been on. Septic backed up... Had that pumped. Still backup. Figured out main line was clogged. So its been a fun past week or so. 😡 Day 63- Blue Marker was dropping so badly so I watered her (should have been watered day before) with her last bite watering with Old Age Bloom 2tsp/gal until runoff. I think Yellow Marker will finish around day 69 or day 70 and Blue Marker at least to day 75 or more. I will be pulling the runt as soon as the leaves get closer to the budsites, it will be premature but at least it'll give me more practice on trimming haha. End of week 9!

What do you guys look for when it comes to harvesting? I have a jeweler's loupe but my hands are too shaky to use. Was thinking Yellow Marker was getting close since her pistils are receding into her buds and she is nice and fat. But I definitely don't want to cut her down early.

To make it easy on you all you have to do is cut a small piece off bud like size of your thumbnail and set the piece on a table no fans plz. Maybe even use a white or black piece of paper for back ground set piece on top and observe trichomes. You won't hurt the plant one bit. You also can view and better white light then grow light.

Day 64- Blue Marker is looking much better since she got watered. The tent smells so damn good! Blue Marker's bud sites are really starting to fill in. At this rate she'll be at least day 80 but I could be wrong. More and more pistils are receding into the buds on Yellow Marker so I think day 70 is the longest I'll wait on it. Day 65- No adjustments besides moving plants around. I changed my mind and will be chopping Yellow Marker down on Day 68. Blue Marker is still on track for day 80. Day 66- No adjustments besides moving plants around. Since in harvesting Yellow Marker on Day 68 I'm not going to give her anymore water. Every time I come to check on my ladies I'm hit in the face with a citrus-lemonade smell. Blue Marker's buds have about 10% brown hairs but she smells so much more than Yellow Marker and the Runt combined haha. Day 67- No pictures. Yellow Marker will be chopped tomorrow! No major adjustments. Day 68- Watered and Jimmy rigged the Runt with PH adjusted water so it could actually stand up. Watered Blue Marker as well with PH adjusted water. Chopping down Yellow Marker! Finally she looks so pretty! After chopping down I think she'll yield me a half ounce if I'm lucky. But I could be wrong. Day 69- No major adjustments besides rotating plants. Day 70- No major adjustments besides rotating plants. End of week 10!

Day 71- No adjustments besides rotating plants. Day 72- Watering the Runt and Blue Marker with around a gallon to each plant until runoff. Blue Marker will hopefully average out my yields in between the Runt and Yellow Marker. The Runt is actually kind of forming little nugs. Blue Marker is looking so beautiful she looks like she'll have 2-3x the amount that Yellow Marker had. Also think Yellow Marker is dry enough to start her cure. I'm excited to see how her taste/smell develops as I have not tried her yet. Her final weight after drying before putting in jars was 16.8 grams. Buds still may be a bit damp even though they were dry on the outside. So I will keep an eye on it with the mini hygrometers I have and I have boveda packs coming tomorrow. So I would say after the cure I'll have a 1/2oz at least. Which isn't bad considering I didn't think I'd be able to make it this far! Day 73- No major adjustments besides rotating plants. Day 74- No adjustments besides rotating plants. Day 75- No adjustments besides rotating plants. Day 76- No adjustments besides rotating plants. Tent is super stanky!!! Probably will grab stakes tomorrow and stake up Blue Marker since she's getting top heavy. Day 77- Purchased some bamboo shoots but will be placing them tomorrow. Watered Runt and Blue Marker with PH adjusted water till 10% runoff. I think maybe one more week and I'll chop them both down. End of week 11!

Day 78- Still haven't got around to staking. Since both plants were watered last night, no more water till harvest on Day 82. Yellow Markers final weight after a week curing is 14.6 grams. I still have some medicine left so this will have atleast another week and half to cure some more. Day 79- I decided against the bamboo stakes. But will have them for future grows. I think I'm just going to ride it out till day 82. Hopefully a buddy comes through to help with trimming or my weekend will be very busy 😂 Day 80- No major adjustments just rotating plants. Day 81- No major adjustments just rotating plants. Tomorrow is Harvest Day! Day 82- Harvest Day! I got started late in the evening and wasn't done till the morning of day 83. I'm beginning to think I should have waited on harvesting Yellow Marker but you live and you learn! These plants smell so damn good. The Runt I may end up getting an eighth to a quarter from. She only had 5 branches which were still pretty shitty but had surprisingly tightened up bud formations. But that's on me, not genetics. But the Blue Marker...her genetics were really on point. I'll atleast get an ounce...maybe two out of her. Both plants have a strong lemony-citrus/piney smell to them. Can't wait to try it out! While trimming I accidentally cut off a few pieces. Instead of tossing it in the trim bin (which is where most of the runt went lol) I left them infront of a fan to quick dry them so I could try them out. I will also be drying these probably 2 days longer before placing them in their jars. The other ones I had to take out multiple times to get the moisture correct. I will be back to post more journals (auto amnesia haze is next) and also post a taste test/harvest results as soon as I'm done drying. Overall for a first timer, I'm impressed on what I've learned and what I've accomplished. Kudos for the insight @NeedsMoreFans As to not waste, the doggo is very happy with her fan leaves as treats. The sugar leaves and trim I will be making into a Green Dragon tincture with 190 proof Everclear. My goal is to be able to take one ml (an average eyedropper) and mix it in with something so I can dose during the day and have it on me, and to not have to worry about taking time to roll a joint or to carry anything on me. Or well...smell like I smoked. Will definitely let you guys know!

For a first timer I was surprised i was able to receive anything smokeable lol. But these ladies took all my mistakes and rewarded me in the end. I have some other MSNL strains I'm trying next. So far MSNL is a thumbs up from me! Will be updating with cure results. Update 1: 11/11 The first harvest has been curing for about a month now and it doesn't really have a strong smell. Real mild. I harvested it early for sure and as a result I got a really nice stash of some heady high so I'm not so couchlocked! But the second harvest was definitely couchlock city. Smell is super strong and the buds are curing nicely, they've been curing for almost 2 weeks now. Update 2: 11/29 Final update but the Blue Markers harvest has been curing for about a month now. I've got about an ounce left and I will be sad when she is all gone 😥

Finally after 5 days buds are dry. A little drier than the last time due to the lower humidity in the house this time of year. Got a total of 3 jars from Blue Marker/Runt for a total of 56.6 grams! Granted the Runt was only maybe 5 grams of that 😂. Plus add in Yellow Marker weighing in at 14.6 grams, brings total harvest to 71.2 grams. Overall very happy with my success as a first timer. Besides maintaining my PH and learning my nutrients the only thing left I think I could of have done differently, is harvest Yellow Marker later than I did. But it just shows me how much of a difference a week can make with tastes, less smell, terps etc. Will update on curing as time passes...but now until my next journal, in a week or so...thanks everyone for following along and major kudos to @NeedsMoreFans for the helpful insight along the way!

@KCChiefers, That photo is rough man, lol. It's cool to wait and post when you have time for better photos. We aren't rushing you, go at your pace. I'm glad to see you are pushing to finish despite the hiccups along the way. Some people would be really discouraged and stop. So good for you man, I hope it turns out nicely and you get the medicine you are looking for off all three.

@KCChiefers, did I ever suggest visiting https://www.growweedeasy.com/ as a tool to help you when you feel like something might be off with the plant? It's a good site that can answer questions related to autos, photos, and other things. With that 4oz a month limit, you will be able to maintain that easy once you get your set up figured out and dialed in.

@NeedsMoreFans, yeah that's what I was kinda deciding on next round or not wether or not I was going to do less plants at a time. I'd like to, but I go through about 2oz a month. My state allows up to 4oz a month. I'd like to be able to harvest once a month or similar to that if I can get myself familiarized with my setup. No dispensaries will be open here until middle of next year

@KCChiefers, sorry I haven't been around man, life. I don't want to discourage you but I would consider sacking the runt. I know you have put a lot of work in to trying to get it this far, but I don't think you will enjoy the smoke you get off of her based on how she grew. The best thing to take away from her journey was what you learned. Your yellow marker is coming along, I like the comparison photo you made.

@KCChiefers, lol to the jewelers loupe. I think people suggest it because it's the "standard" even though I haven't found a lot of people who actually enjoy them. Don't worry about using the pisitls as a gauge, it's a good default if you don't have the ability to see the trichomes. I hope you are able to get the 2 ounces of all three. I also hear what you are saying about it not being perfect. I would just hate for you have a really harsh smoke for the relief off the runt. I could be way off though and it could still be fine for you. I'm also glad to hear that you are happy with what you have achieved so far. You have learned a lot over these past two months which is always valuable. Learning the set up is definitely key. You may find that you have to treat the plants differently based on how many you have even going from two to three, to one, to four. Keep the positivity and enjoy the journey. 😃

@NeedsMoreFans, well I got pretty shaky hands too, so the Jewelers Loupe didn't work out too well for me lol. My girl said I should have just spent the extra on a USB scope but sometimes me being cheap...ya know haha. Probably going to order one of those here in the next week. Based off other journals I still have 20-25 days left. If I don't get a scope by chop day I'll probably just go by hairs even though that's not the best way. Probably 1 more feeding then just going to give PH water to them. Like I said my final goal is 2oz off three plants. It's my medicine stash so it doesn't have to be perfect. Just as long as I get relief. Even with mistakes I'm happy with this grow and excited to see once I learn my setup more, what I can achieve with it.

@KCChiefers, at this point in the process I would stop any and all foliar sprays. You are entering flowering now so back off on topical applications unless necessary. Her color appears to be getting better now that you are introducing Cal-Mag which is good. Be careful to not over water them and you can still do a little bit of training, just not much. If you can't move the branches at all because they are stiff, consider if you can tuck any fan leaves that are blocking a flower site. You could also consider doing one round of defoliation on all the leaves blocking the inside of the plant. Do some research on this from other growers before you start removing leaves to see what they are doing/looking for, then study your plant and decide if you can or should do that also. Training isn't over, just modified now.

@KCChiefers, 3-4 day watering is normal depending on where you are at in the process and the overall root/plant development. You want the time between watering to decrease as the plant becomes larger.
KCChiefers
KCChieferscommented5 years ago
@NeedsMoreFans, it's another strain from MSNL actually. But okay and another question for you? Blue Marker is pretty light already so it seems like I may need to water her tomorrow. Is that normal to water again after 3-4 days? She took damn near the whole gallon! I just don't want to overwater her. The other 2 ladies pots are still pretty heavy.

NeedsMoreFanscommented5 years ago
@KCChiefers, Niravana Bubblicious? Good strain if so, if not I'm not familiar with the genetics. Wait about a 7 days from sprout to give your first dose of Cal-Mag and don't exceed 3ml to start. As far as the light goes, what does the manufacturer recommend for flower distance? You have to make sure to also account for vertical growth that is still happening. If 18" is the lowest recommendation, try 19"-20" to allow for some growth and not cross the barrier. Or, just lower by about an inch each day until you are 19"/20" away.

I like the spread I'm seeing on the Yellow Marker. Blue looks like it is stacking high on the one side. Look at the runt, it's trying so hard. What if it ends up looking like weed genitals? One long main cola with two golf balls on the bottom? That would be insane.

@KCChiefers, I don't measure the ppms currently. I've been doing it all just off PH levels after mixing nutrients measured by the ml/tsp per gallon, and checking the run off every so often to make sure the soil isn't heating up. If your plants aren't showing any cal-mag deficiencies, you can wait, but if you want to avoid any potential deficiencies, giving it a shot of cal-mag in the water won't hurt. This far along, you could give it 5ml per gallon and it would be okay. I use tap water that has been filtered and vented to remove the chlorine. I'm fortunate my tap water has a natural 6.5PH rating. I'll remove an equal amount of water to the amount of nutrients I'll be adding, plus a little more to account for PH levelers. The reason I remove an equal amount of water is because the nutrients are all liquid based. The simplest way to start with nutrients is the use the minimum, so if it were FF for example, it would be some cal-mag with the FF Trio of Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger Bloom used at their respective times, and nothing else. Then as you feel comfortable, you could start adding other things, to use FF again, Kelp Me Kelp You, Kangaroots, Cha Ching, etc. You could do then one at a time to measure the difference, or mix and match to your heart is content, but know that your results were vary as you learn how it strain reacts to each addition.

@NeedsMoreFans, I was able to get more info on my tap water source. Do you know if 15 ppm for magnesium and calcium is enough? I'm thinking probably not. Deciding whether I want to go the cal mag route. Curious to know what you water with. I'm just trying to simplify it down till I have a better understanding of what certain plants needs are etc. Yes, I've already learned so much that I'm excited to do these next two seeds here in a few days! I will be starting a bloom booster here in week 5 by Old Age Nutrients so I'm curious to see what it'll do.

@KCChiefers, unless you do something to botch the whole thing, I think you will be happy. Look at what you have learned already, which is important, and helping you improve this grow, in the middle of the process. You will be in a better position for your next run. You know you'll need to check your PH out the gate and make sure that is on point, which has a huge impact on the whole process. Plus you will be able to start figuring out how to dial in your nutrients.

@NeedsMoreFans, the runt is coming along nicely. But the two stronger phenos are growing crazy. I'm pretty sure they're preflowering now. I tried to get some pics. But no luck. Should they be stretching here in the next few weeks before they flower?

KCChiefers
KCChieferscommented5 years ago
@NeedsMoreFans, I'll be watering tomorrow I think I'm going to give 3ml to a gallon so half the dosage. And see if stuff improves. When I was reading up on Fox farm soil. I read that ocean Forest had enough nutrients to last me till flower. So I have not given any nutes whatsoever so far besides what was in the soil. What would you recommend for a simple veg nute for next go around?
NeedsMoreFans
NeedsMoreFanscommented5 years ago
@KCChiefers, what has been your largest N-P-K rating so far? Not just one item, but with all the N-P-K numbers added up? Not percentages either. It depends on where you have been feeding. It also depends on how much P-K and you will have to offset the N. It's not something I could give you an honest answer on based on just 1 product. It kind of looks like a magnesium deficiency, https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-plant-problems/magnesium-deficiency . I would give it some Cal-Mag and see what happens. I could be wrong, but it looks like a Mag issue.

@NeedsMoreFans, I've seen people mention pony tailing. I'll have to look that up!
NeedsMoreFans
NeedsMoreFanscommented5 years ago
@KCChiefers, lol, thank you. I do like the shape I have been able to get. I think next time I'll star the LST even sooner, possibly node 3/4 instead of 5/6. I think if I bend her sooner I can get enough of the branches to stretch sooner and get a nice "round forrest" by LST training in a slow circle pattern. To do that though I need the lower branches to stretch out sooner to allow for enough manipulation time. This is also what I'm thinking for my next Black Jack grow. After this is an indica in which I will probably use a combination of LST and Ponytail to see what I get there.

For your runt, it's hard to say, it could be a magnesium issue. Did anymore of the new growth display these traits or only those leaves? The plants being so small by week three could related to genetics of the plant and not necessarily your light, both the genetics for this round of seeds and/or the strain in general. Have you looked up journals of other growers of White LSD Auto from MSNL genetics?

@NeedsMoreFans, thanks! I'm about to give them water here shortly and do some minor LST adjustments. On another forum they suggested that some of the recent fox farm soil has been off pH wise. So I'm top dressing 1tbs to each gallon of soil with that. Starting to think my pH will be off. Will let you know! Also...can you update day by day or do you have to wait for the week to finish to update your diary?

What do you mean by the leaves kind of stink? Stink in what way? And what is in the foliar spray? Also, with this being an auto, could you post real color photos every now and again so we can see what the leaves and branches look like? Purple light will make it hard for other to try and evaluate what is going on or spot possible warning signs you may have missed.

KCChieferscommented6 years ago
@NeedsMoreFans, oh, no issue with the smell! I just didn't the leaves would smell like the finished product this soon lol. I only notice it when smelling finger tips after training plants and tucking fans leaves. Trust me not a bad smell 😁
NeedsMoreFans
NeedsMoreFanscommented6 years ago
@KCChiefers, I don't see how that could cause such a smell issue. Foliar sprays are really debatable depending on who you talk to. I've done some with and some without, I can't say I know for a fact I saw gains or losses either way. I was using a mix of silica and PH balanced water. To deal with pests I would put neem oil in the water I was giving the soil. I haven't had any mold issues on leaves so I have never needed a foliar spray for that.
KCChiefers
KCChieferscommented6 years ago
@NeedsMoreFans, stink as in when I was touching the leaves. My fingers smelled like some dank! The Foliar Spray is called Overgrow by Optic Foliar. Ingredients are as follows : Total Nitrogen-0.01% Available Phosphate-0.16% Magnesium-0.21% Soluble Potash-0.02% Calcium-0.001%

@KCChiefers, I've been meaning to ask you. When you were using your nutrients, are you following what the bottle says, or what a feed guide says? I haven't investigated your nutrients and compared them to what you are posting. I only ask because for FF products, they suggest a super low dosage across the board for their feeding schedule compared what they place on their own bottles. This is where you would have to consider measuring the PPM, if using the suggestions on all the bottles compared to the schedule if they vary. I use the bottle recommendations and scale accordingly as the plants develop and found that works well for me. I still don't measure my PPM by the way...yet. I'm not at that level of dialing in and don't know when or if I will be. Learning to understand what your plant is telling you can do a lot on it's own.
KCChiefers
KCChieferscommented5 years ago
@NeedsMoreFans, on the CalMag Plus I've been using less than recommended. And the Old Age says for established plants 2-3tbs. I wanted to go on the easy side and go 2 tsp that way since I water them about twice a week I could give them an extra tsp to make a tbs if I felt necessary. I'm thinking about picking up veg nutes from ff to start introducing them to my plants about 3-3.5 weeks in. I watered with CalMag at 2ml/gal and burned both of my Bubblegums. So I'll probably just start pH water for first 3-3.5 weeks. I'm learning though! Plus this new round was with HF

Holy balls your plants take a gallon of water each?! Mine are taking a quarter gallon each, every 2-3 days and immediately drain a quarter to half of what i water them out the bottom and into the drip trays. If i tried to do a gallon to any of mine they would overflow the trays below easily. Wonder why that is??
KCChiefers
KCChieferscommented5 years ago
@KCMOR8RH8R, first two weeks I only gave about a quarter of a gallon. Then after that about a half a gallon and now they take about a full gallon with only a few drops out the bottom! It also depends on your medium you're using. I also water them over the course of an hour slowly

Things are looking good @KCChiefers. That yellow light is harsh on those few photos. I thought something was wrong with the plants at first when seeing the thumbnails. I know that is something that is some times beyond our control. So please don't take this as a negative comment. I'm curious to see how much smaller the runt will be as this gets further along.
