Growing it

What can I say, lives up to its name. This batch is the sweetest smelling (relative) grow of LSD-25 yet. There is something to organics will revisit the method next year. Much stickier than any previous and looks very potent. Smoke report - Surprisingly smooth, heh organics, potent looks about high teens maybe pushing 20 , hey I can dream too. Ok like all the other its trippy , psych effects are noticeable and last about 2 hours from four half assed tokes. If I only had one strain this would be it

Grow Questions

Ok see the pic of Jen above, compare weeks one and two. She came out of the ground like this, expressing pale new growth. Began walking back the feed PH from 6.8ish to 6.0 with meh results. Possible genetic? Seen plants "grow out" of this before but she still at it. Thanks folks

genetics 100% play a part in plant coloring. new growth also tends to be a more pale color that then becomes darker as it ages. its not a nitrogen deficiency as that starts at the bottom of the plant and creeps to the top. so i think you are safe and as long as growth is still good she should be healthy.

When you harvest Jen (The lighter green one from the beginning of your grow) check and compare her stems to the rest of the plants to see if the stems are as solid as the other plants or very hollow like a straw. Especially her main cola stem. I'm working on a theory that these light green phenotype may be hungry for a more proportionate Potassium/Calcium/Magnesium feeding than other normal green phenotype. I've been discussing this with a couple of other growers on GD. I'll try to follow along with your grow.πŸ‘Œ

@Philindicus, Understood , we had to make the choice about those kind of communities and thought it would be exactly as you describe. Of course there are huge benefits as well so I hear ya. Looking at from a stealth view coco would also be easier to conceal as you bring it in in a block that fits in a grocery bag and your nuets can be as little as three or four bottles. Of course there is more to it than that so good luck indeed!

@rhodes68, I've run out of holes to fill in out in my yard. I'm in one of these retirement communities down here where you can't scratch your ass without people spreading rumors. Literally I have to work under the cover of darkness to smuggle supplies in and out. Who knows I may have to start using more Coco coir in my mix then recycle it. Just I don't want to change too many things at once and mess up my grows. I'll just tweak things a little bit at a time.

@Philindicus, I suggest you watch the movie "The Great Escape" for soil disposal tricks 😜 Well two things I have learned about reusing soil, let it dry for a couple of months so the old roots decay and dont rot while you are growing, bad juju. Then wash it out, re-establish colonies and should be ok then. For coco you also have to wash and rebuffer and its fine afterwards. Problems in soil in particular organic grows is picking up pests or even something disease causing while its being stored. Could start a compost heap that would actually work

@Philindicus, Unless your potassium is too high in the first place but then Ive seen growers use potassium freely claiming and showing what seems to me little if any adverse effects. This why I am trying to migrate to feeding the soil not the plant as more is going on there than we really know. People grow in coco for simplicity and frankly I get it as soil can get to be as unique as the plants themselves. Still it has the best long term potential IMHO

@rhodes68, All I can tell you is the proper proportions are 4 parts potassium to 2 parts calcium to 1 part magnesium. If these are out of proportion each can block each others rate of absorption. Too much magnesium will block calcium. Too much calcium will block potassium. Too much calcium or potassium can block magnesium. So in other words as you increase cal/mag you need to increase your potassium proportionately.πŸ‘ I can't say that I've figured this out soon enough if at all!

@Philindicus, It helps yes thanks I have seen them do this up to week 3 this is the first to do it this long. Drinking slower but its also smaller, going to be looking close at the pot later tonight see if anything is going on there. There is Dolomite Lime/ Gauno in the pot and that does provide some Cal and Mag I use the supplement sparingly think that stuff causes more problems than we know. Will give it next feed to make sure.

Hey @rhodes68, it looks like a micro nutrient issue. It looks like a possible iron deficiency/lockout to me. Could be caused by overwatering. let me know what you think!
rhodes68
rhodes68
@@motaman311, True but it means since the others are fine nothing drastic is out of whack, this is more subtle. She doesn't drink as much but then she is smaller and as for the pots it all came out of the same bags :) It looks for all the world like iron but seriously if the ph were that wonky I would expect by now the thing had died. Have to wait I guess
motaman311
motaman311
@rhodes68, Doesn't always matter with the other plants.. it could be a different pheno and be a bit more sensitive to a nutrient then the others....or maybe the drainage isn't as good in that pot so the water sits in a little longer, just some thoughts. im def going to check it out later and see if you figure it out. I get this sometimes in hydro and I cant never really figure it out what nutrient is causing it.
rhodes68
rhodes68
@@motaman311, Yeah something not being absorbed. Not watering, look at the others. They all on the same schedule and feed.

Maybe too too hot, almost 30 degrees? Too much water? I would also suggest 186 lights for this strain. Thats all I csn say right now.
rhodes68
rhodes68
@GreasyLuigi, We tested light schedules the first grow, they like their light just have to watch the burn. 20 hours is fine just keeping it a bit higher than manufacturer suggestion of 18" thus the 20". Our power is cheap so I always go "long" ;)

@GreasyLuigi, Thanks Only watering about every three days or so and not before there is one good inch of dry sil on top. Not that sensitive to heat and the others are doing excellent so seems something specific to that plant. Pots are also exactly alike so the soil should be fine. Kind of puzzled 186?

I know we sort of pushed the dry, but babydoll, let me tell you!! These ladies carry a nice punch! I must say the flavor of the green compared to the purple does stand out as does the effect, at least for me. With the purple strains, I have had a lovely floating head hit that rolls hour after hour, allowing a much needed mental vacation. The body hit is pleasant and feels like a warm fleece wrap, taking me in, from head to foot. Allowing me to β€˜kick back and chill’ Now with the green, I have got to find the words. The body high was almost a hum, felt like every fiber of my skin was alive and my mind raced to find the tracks! The energy level was a very nice change! Her flavor was slightly tart, with how I consume it, and her sweet undertones made me want to lick the bowl! Think I have a new love, at least as long as it lasts! Thank you, Sir, for growing/doing such a banger of a grow!

Cant respond to a grow question response so do it here. PH just is not that sensitive. Been chasing this for weeks, 6.8 is just where one tablespoon of lemon juice puts one gallon of my tap water, after it sits a few days and use this on everything. Dropped ph to 6.5 6.2 6.0 over the course of 2 weeks. Still yellowing As for the nuets well they are organic not mineral based so there should not be an issue with a couple different producers. Only Cal-Mag is such and it only was used once at the start to make sure those were present. Not a big fan of the stuff. The nuets you see listed are never used all at once. Most times only one to three are involved at any feeding. All I can do now is wait for the pot to dry again and take a close look at the soil. Thanks I m just puzzled
